    Add that hot sauce!!
    Charles T.

I heard There was a new halal spot in the area so you know I had to run in there and check it out . Today's adventure brings me to Yummy Kebab in the East Stroudsburg/Marshalls Creek-ish area . So most times when I go to a new halal spot , I like to get the mix platter that's lamb and chicken over rice. I will start out with the one con right away and it just depends on how you feel about it, but the platter and the 20oz soda was $19. I thought that was a bit steep . With that said , both proteins were absolutely delicious. The rice was really interesting and hard to place at first . It started out kind of flat and then at the end I got this clove or something, i'm not sure exactly what it was . I enjoyed it , but it's definitely gonna be kind of a culture shock kind of thing for people who aren't used to it . Another thing that I enjoyed was that the hot sauce Here is actually hot . It's not crazy like burn your mouth out hot , but there is definitely some warmth there . The platter is also quite large . You could get this platter and split it with someone else, Or you could make it so that you save half and have another meal later on . The price felt steep , but the food was great . Honestly , as usual , you gotta go in and find out for yourself . The only thing I can say is yummy kebab - Didn't Suck!

Delicious, fresh food. The pickles are so good. The lamb is tender and moist. The rice is great. The tabouli is fresh and delicious. The hummus is awesome and the pitas are fresh and hot. This is a great addition to our area. Now we don't have to go all the way to Stroudsburg for good Middle Eastern food. The owners are really nice too.

It's a large dining area and nicely decorated with Turkish flair. The blues/rock music playing in the background was not what you would expect, but very enjoyable. The service was good, but it did take a while to get the bill when leaving. My lentil soup was good and perfect for the cold evening. I had the Karnijarick which is eggplant stuffed with ground lamb bathed in a tomato-based sauce. Flavor was good and not oversalted, but light on spices. It was served with white rice and grilled veggies. My wife had the lamb shank which was a bit tough and too light on seasoning. The salad was good. My favorite was the naan type bread serves with the meals. Overall, enjoyable, but not a great value.

There were 6 of us and we split the Efsane Family Special for 4 people and added lamb chops thinking we wouldn't have enough food lol the special also came with dessert but my sister-in-law also ordered a rice pudding. The 6 of us could've easily had the family special for 4 without ordering anything else - there was so much food and we had leftovers to take home!! For context, we all eat a LOT so to say we had leftovers is saying a lot! Quantity aside, the food itself was delicious. The bread is served fresh and steaming hot, the dips are delicious and flavorful, meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly (the chicken shish and lamb adana are my favorites), and the bitter black tea and sweet baklava are a perfect way to end the meal. I left there stuffed and so happy! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

For the price and flavor it was so worth it. I got two meals out of mine. I got the gyro platter and it probably was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. I thought the chicken was seasoned and flavorful. But by far, the best part was the white sauce. I would pair it with the mango lassi and it was such a great explosion of flavors - both savory and sweet. I will say they ask whether you're okay with onions and raisins in your platter. I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. Parking shouldn't be a problem and you can get a really good stop if you're lucky.

It was quick, efficient, and mercifully free of small talk. A machine that doesn't pretend to care about your day is, in many ways, the most honest companion while still lacking the dismissiveness of the Gen Z stare. My sandwich arrived at the table shortly after, delivered by a human who didn't linger. We understood each other. I had the Pink Sultan. Chicken, mixed greens, red cabbage, pickles, and a sauce the color of a polite sunset. I read that the sauce involves beets, which explains both the color palette and the faint suggestion that I was eating something that once grew in dirt and had ambitions. The sandwich was good. Not life changing, not tragic. The chicken was tender enough, the vegetables crisp, the flavors balanced in a way that suggested someone had made decisions and stuck with them. I drank a bottle of Turkish Uludag soda, which tasted like citrus with a hint of optimism. It whispered, "I'm like Fanta, but regional AND foreign, which of course makes me better." The place itself is clean and modern, with that fast casual confidence that says we take our ingredients seriously but not ourselves. They make a point of using fresh components and well seasoned meats that rotate slowly on a spit, absorbing flavor as time passes, much like the rest of us. Everything I ate was pretty good. That is not faint praise. In a world where many meals are often either regrettable or unforgettable, pretty good is a kind of victory. Four stars. The kiosk asked nothing of me, and the food delivered something in return.

The buffet started about 30 minutes later than what we later found was listed on their Facebook page, and the staff didn't seem to know what would be served, so we could just move forward with our entrée. The drinks were fresh, and the food was clearly made fresh too, but having eaten Middle Eastern food in Iraq and Turkey, I was hoping for a bit more spice and depth. The service could definitely improve -- especially communication and friendliness. The young lady serving us came off standoffish, while the younger gentleman who seated us was kind and welcoming but seemed out of the loop. We live about 30 minutes away up on Mt. Bethel and had lost power earlier that day, so we were dressed more for warmth after trick-or-treating -- maybe that's why we felt like we weren't being fully "trusted" customers. We spent almost $200.00 with tip for 4 people. Prices are great! That was 2 buffets, 2 kids meals, a starter and two entrées and 6 drinks. Cool vibe overall, live DJ, and lots of potential.
