We stayed here two nights in late October. The good: Cedars is in an ideal location of you are planning on hitting the town for dinner and drinks. The staff was warm and friendly, and they let us check in early and check out by calling the front desk from the room phone. I really appreciated the early check in, the fact that they allowed us to park there while they readied our room, and the fact that they housekeep the rooms from 9:00 to 1:00 PM. The view of Snoopy Rock and the surrounding buttes is gorgeous, especially during sunrise. You can hear the flow of Oak Creek below. The not-so-good: Immediately upon entering, I noticed that the room was permeated with an odd smell, which I think was emanating from the air conditioner. The sheets were musty, and there were ants in the bathtub, and a lovely collection of gnats atop the coffee maker. There were also visible spider webs in the corners. I know the area is known for being a little "buggier," but this kind of looked like they had not cleaned the room in at least a week. I think the main reason I am annoyed is that the price was comparable to other motels in the area, and the word "resort" is in the name, but there were no amenities and the smell is was really distracting. I would be a little happier if I had expected this to be a budget stay. I am giving 3 stars because the staff I interacted with were so accommodating and nice, and the view couldn't be more beautiful, but I would probably not stay there again. read more

Dont be fooled by the name its more of a glorified motel than a resort. The best thing this place has going for it, is its location. Located in the center of Sedona, its in walking distance of a lot of shops and restaurants. The view from the Creek side rooms are amazing. The rooms themselves are a bit outdated. Sure theres a flat screen TV in the room, but if you came to Sedona to watch TV in your room then go screw yourself. There is free WiFi, but it seems spotty and I often got disconnected. Besides that the staff is very friendly. I checked in mid day and it being my first time in Sedona, the nice older lady working the front desk made a lot of suggestions for me to do. She was actually very helpful in helping me plan my day. All in all, I would stay here again for the location/view. I learned pretty early into my trip that nothing is cheap in Sedona. read more

Check In had a nice front desk agent and the room had a great view. When we were checking out we were running a little behind. At 11:18A the new front desk agent demanded we leave by 11:20A or else she would charge me a half day. That gave us not even 2 minutes at that point to get our belongings fully gathered and put in my car. I checked the agreement I signed, it states clearly if we aren't out by 12P there would be a charge. It was a nice experience until the awful customer service at the end. Gf and I went to sedona for a night and attempted to get a room elsewhere on the day we arrived there....I know poor planning on my part. Everything was booked and having called them the man at the front desk told us they had 1 available that they hold in case of situations like ours. Stay was fine, nothing special but had the craziest thing happen. In the early morning hours I awoke to here the handle on my door. I jumped up and turned around and my door was halfway open. Was our first time visiting Cedars Resort. Extremely nice staff, check in was great. Room was very clean and the views off the balcony were amazing. They have a private walk down to the creek which was very nice. This was our first time seeing snow in Sedona so it was beautiful. The jacuzzi was very nice with all the snow around. This is by far the best location for an awesome hotel (This is in no way a resort at all). the staff is the worst and even though it is stated directly in the paperwork they hand you for "status durring covid" that the room would be serviced if stay is longer than 3 days, we couldn't even get them to give us a roll of toilet paper durring our 4 day stay here so we left. (stated they don't service rooms daily because of covid but they do on day 3 if staying longer than 3 days) They post that the office is open till 11:00 PM for any needs but they close early... The number on the door is there just so the per son that answers can tell you what is or isn't considered an emergency and that if there was anything that we needed we should have brought it with us and that it is not his job to provide toilet paper or anything else to guests at the resort. He also stated that "What kind of service do you expect, you are the idiot traveling durring an epidemic, go stay somewhere else"... Not what I expected from the posted after hours number on the door. If you don't mind staying at a run down motor lodge for resort prices this is the place for you. My boyfriend booked us a room here and I was hesitant at first because of the bed bug review I saw on here. Upon entering our room, we checked the bed thoroughly and there was no bugs, thankfully. The pros to this place definitely outnumber the cons. The view from our room was insanely beautiful. While outdated, the room itself was very clean. It had a decent sized mini fridge, which is always nice. The room was very spacious, and there was a good selection of channels on the t.v. The bed was so comfortable, I didn't even want to get out of it. Also, the pool was beautiful! There was plenty of parking, and this hotel is located in a great area. I was particularly happy to see a Starbucks right across the street from us. There were a few cons to this place, but nothing too bad. There were a few little flying bugs in the room, but we were able to get them out easily and they were relatively harmless. The shower heads were my biggest problem. They were put at a really awkward angle and it was really difficult to take a proper shower. Unless you're under five feet, it will be a struggle. The walls are also pretty thin, and I could hear people at the pool and others walking around throughout the day. There were no people staying in the rooms next to us, thankfully, so it wasn't too much of an issue. Overall, I did enjoy the stay here and I would definitely plan to stay here again the next time I go up to Sedona! read more

This is a really nice place to stay located right in the center of everything. The accommodations where exactly what was expected from viewing their website. There was a nice pool and hot tub area with stairs that led you down to the creek with chairs to sit and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the water and surroundings. Due to COVID there wasn't any housekeeping, but when going to the lobby everyone was helpful with supplying more towels and whatever else we needed. I would stay here again for sure. read more

LOCATION! The only reason to stay at this hotel. Although there are other hotels right across the street, this one is the cheapest. You get what you pay for. We unfortunately were assigned a room next to the road. It is quite noisy in the mornings. Our first night/morning staying, the hotel room alarm clock woke us up at 6am. Pretty annoying when we didn't check in until 10pm from driving all day. Also when we left for the day to go exploring the maid rolling cart was outside of our door with all clean towels/linens on it. When we returned a couple hours later the cart was still sitting in the same exact place. Really hoping those weren't our "clean" linens sitting outside all day (or someone else's). Probably wouldn't stay here again. There seems to be a lot nicer places across the street and down the road. read more

This is an older motel that has been refreshed. The sink is in bed area with small room for toilet and shower. You won't get into your room until after 4 PM as we were told and when we arrived at 3:55 and started the check-in at 4:00 three other couples came in quickly behind us to check-in. The TV was a bear to figure out and operate which wasn't good because I was wanting to catch part of one of the playoff football games. The bed was comfortable and we did sleep well. This is our first time staying at Cedars and it's now our favorite place! The views are great. The room is a bit dated and funky, but super clean with a comfy bed. That's all my guy and I need, especially with these views. Now for the best part - the service. Everyone we met kept asking if they could do anything for us. Very sweet. After the first night we mentioned that the fridge sounded like a plane taking off. Not only did they trade it out immediately, but they replaced a can of ginger beer they'd spilled in the transfer. Ginger beer that my guy had precariously perched, so was our fault for the spill, not theirs. The owner/manager actually went to the store and found the exact brand and replaced it. Priceless. We had a reservation for a Double Queen Room 3 months in advance but then they only had a Single Full Size available when we checked in. I'm not sure who to blame Expedia or Sedona Cedars but it doesn't really matter because 2 of our party had to sleep on a dirty floor for two days. The Clerk at the counter made no effort to help or offer any alternatives, he simply did not care and it showed. Luckily we had 2 blankets in our car and we had to get extra towels from the pool. Then to make matters worse we had no hot water and had to take cold showers. Nobody ever came to clean the rooms or change or leave clean linens. This is not my idea of a resort at all and the group that checked in behind us had their reservation for a Double King mysteriously get changed to a single as well with no cleaning service either. I am very dissatisfied. read more

The website showed rooms with a canyon view but when we arrived on a cold stormy Monday in the middle of May we were given a room facing a busy roadway with a view of the parking lot and told that rooms with a canyon view had an upgrade charge and the rooms with 2 beds were taken. My wife and I stayed over the 4th of july holiday. We were met by Diane at the front desk. Very friendly and happily gave us early check in. Diane made sure to tell us to come to her for any special requests and recommendations here in Sedona. Our room was larger than we expected. Very clean. King Bed and beddings very comfortable. Our second floor came with a balcony. Views of the canyon walls were amazing. Very quiet, we heard no noise at all. This hotels location can not be topped. Coffee shop across the street included as a Starbucks. Uptown shopping 6 minute walk. Pink Jeep tours 5 minute walk. Our only special request, to receive a case of wine we had purchased while we were out , was handled perfectly. Yes, this is a modest property. Don't let that sway you. I have already recommended Cedars to by brother. We love coming to Sedona and we loved Cedars. read more

Love this place. Right in the middle of both sections of Sedona that we wanted to walk too.pool and spa, walk down rustic stairs to river and sit by river. They have a small gym. Free coffee in lobby. The place is very clean, beds comfortable. Staff very friendly, but the Best is Haley, she works the front desk and on our first day(place sold out), our key stopped working and than nothing she did remedied and resolved the issue. She made 4 sets of keys, replaced the batteries, reprogrammed the door. She also still ran the front desk at same time. The hotel fixed and took care of us, which is rare in todays times I feel at times. Great Great place, will definitely be back read more

The two women who helped me, DeLoraine and Diane, were so friendly and easy to chat with. I only give it four out of five stars because I thought the price was high. Cute little place! Our room overlooked the creek which I thought was amazing! We also had a nice private balcony. The staff was nice and checking in and out was an easy process. The hotel is in the middle of everything which I loved! I would definitely stay here again! Only downside was that there is no microwave in the rooms and the mini fridge was more like a freezer. read more

Horrible experience. Coming from a hospitality background I don't expect much because I know how hard this industry can be. BUT considering they advertise as a dog friendly hotel only to get here and be told they only recognize certain service dogs and therapy dogs are not allowed is a terrible way to run a company. Chantelle said we could find this policy on their website but I could not find anything. Coming from out of town this was a huge $300 inconvenience for us as we had to book a new hotel. #1 rule in hospitality is the customer is always right but I guess at this "resort" the customer has no say. I don't know why this place is showing up on the map on this review out in the middle of nowhere Sedona but it's actually in a great location at the junction of 89A and 178. We were driving through the area and got into Sedona pretty late (I think it was a Friday night). Nothing cheap was available around town so we ended up going with this place for about $100 a night (no, not cheap by our standards). It ended up being really nice... free wi-fi, great location for walking around town, huge room and a big comfy bed. When I go back to Sedona for a longer visit, I'd definitely consider staying here. read more

I stayed at Sedona Cedars Resort at the end of October, and let me tell you, it was the BEST! You definitely can't go wrong staying here if you want to get a really good taste of Sedona. First off, this place is situated right at the "Y" where 89A and 179 meet, which makes it easy to walk to both Uptown and Tlaquepaque -- so convenient! -- and the parking is free for guests. I had a view room, which is totally worth the upgrade. No matter the time of year, the view is incredible, but it's really special when the leaves are changing color. The room itself was perfect -- spacious, clean, modern, with all the amenities anyone could need -- a fridge, coffee maker, TV and free WIFI. I especially liked the shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which are all-natural botanicals -- better than I would have expected at a hotel at this price point. Honestly, I felt like I was in a much more expensive hotel. I highly recommend Sedona Cedars Resort if you're coming to Sedona for any length of time. Be sure to get a view room and/or spend some time on the pool deck. Even if it's too cold to go swimming, just sitting out there looking at that view with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine will change your life! read more

My husband and decided on staying at Cedars for our first wedding anniversary trip here in Sedona after we read some reviews and heard of the great views the canyon rooms offer. I just want to rave a minute on the lady at the front desk. We were met right away with the sweetest front desk ladies. I didn't catch her name but one of them helped us get our wine bottle open, forks and plates for our wedding cake we had saved because we did not come as prepared as we thought, then towards the end of the night we were chatting in the hot tub with a couple that had just gotten married that day, we got carried away in conversation and the worker came down to let us (VERY nicely) know the pool was closing and we had to go. She offered to help us carrying things if we needed. We also took the private staircase down to oak creek, which you can here roaring from certain rooms! It was very peaceful, and the weather was perfect. All this to say highly recommend this place to stay. The staff, the views and location were awesome! read more

"Resort" it's not but it the views make up for it. We had a king size room with a view of Oak Creek. Just beautiful. Pros: The location is awesome. Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The pool and hot tub are small but very nice. The size wasn't an issue as the hotel is small. The view from the pool is unlike anything I've ever seen. There is a walking path down to the creek but it's hard to find. I believe the only access is through the pool. More than just basic cable, lots to watch. We had an awesome balcony that overlooked the creek. The toilet was tall and my husband is 6'5" so he appreciated this more than I did. They did allow us to check in almost 3 hours early. Cons: The room smelled like an elderly persons home and the decor was much the same, complete with fake plants and a hanging tapestry. No hot breakfast, only a small decanter of coffee. The office closes at 10pm, so don't forget your ice or lock yourself out of your room. The pool does not have towels available and the front desk plays 20 questions if you ask for extra towels. There were lots of spider webs in our room and bugs. Considering the location it's to be expected to a certain degree but there were definitely more than I was comfortable sharing a room with. The front desk person was not very helpful when asking for good restaurants in the area. Her response was "I guess it depends on what you're in the mood for." The pool furniture is plastic crap and there's very little of it. Considering the pros and cons we would stay here again. The location was great for us and the views were worth the price. The place does need a bit of sprucing up and they should take "resort" out of the name. Other than that, we were pleased. read more

Decent stay here. When you pay $99 per night you can only expect so much. The room served its purpose, surprisingly comfortable bed, pretty small, fridge wasn't big enough to fit a to-go box (literally). My chief complaint resides with the shower; more specifically, the shower pressure. I didn't know Cedars Resort had a contract with the Department of Defense! If not they should. The pressure that exploded out of that shower head would instill genuine fear into the eyes of even the most brutal of tyrannical world powers. Use with caution! Everything else was pretty straight forward. I don't think I left anything in the room after checking out, but then again, I might still be concust from my shower this morning. So we came on a whim and it was available and affordable.. I'd say this is pretty much a motel 6 etc with a view. The first room we got literally stunk so bad we had to be moved to another room. The room we originally had was a lot more spacious with a balcony, the trade room had no balcony was a lot smaller... The shower heads are terrible... But the bed was actually comfortable. The measurements on the pool are definitely inaccurate I'm a 5'2 and in the 5ft area i couldn't even stand it was way over my head.. But whatever it was a pool and you swim not stand. I wouldn't say I would never stay here again, the views are beautiful very close to town and for the purpose of sleeping and shower it's do-able. But if it was a planned tripped I'd look else where. read more
