Best Lebanese in the central PA area. Love the Kibbeh balls and the babaganoush is some of the best I've ever had.

I went here with my girlfriend on a quiet Sunday afternoon, only one other table was occupied. Our server seemed nice enough, the food was good if not great, though the place seemed a tad unwelcoming - may be a bit of soft music would've helped. It was clean, not cramped, with a view of the kitchen. Let me start with the good part. I really liked my grilled chicken entrée (shish tawook), it comes with rice, grilled veggies, and garlic sauce - they make a great combination. It is served with a side salad, which deserves a special mention as they add a light but slightly spicy sauce, which I think makes it different from my usual salad, and it is topped with some pita chips (which were so good we asked for another side of the chips). Moving to the Felafel wrap my girlfriend ordered, it was average at best. It is served with the usual lettuce and tomatoes, with a pickle on the side. Though we were glad we had ordered French fries (guess you can't go wrong with fries 9 out of 10 times :-P). We wanted to try something new and ordered the Grape Leaves appetizer with rice stuffing - bad idea. It tasted too much like boiled greens. I would suggest staying away from it unless you've had it before, and know what you are ordering. Note that there is ample parking on the rear, though once you are in the back lane, it's not easy to identify the restaurant's parking area. We were also informed that one can park on the street in front (though not sure if it was only since it was a Sunday). PS. If you are here, check out the Cornerstone Coffeehouse just down the street, we stopped by there after Cedars and a band of 10-16 year old kids was performing live. I have eaten here or had take out a half dozen times or so. I usually get an order of the hummus with beef on top and it is excellent. I also order the mixed/combo kabob with the lamb, beef, and ground beef 'sausage'. The meat is seasoned very well and the lamb is perfectly cooked. The rice is very good. The vegetables are droned well and cooked just right. I usually don't eat vegetable sides but it is really done well here and consist of carrots, squash, zucchini and mushrooms. One of the best restaurants in the Harrisburg area. It's good for couples, but perfect for groups. Authentic and delicious Lebanese cuisine--I recommend getting a fair number of the mezzas (appetizers) and also the whole red snapper. Live belly dancing on Friday and Saturday is unique and fun to watch (and dance if you're brave enough). It's also BYOB and they have outside seating. Definitely a must-visit in Harrisburg. PS, if you get a chance to sit and talk with the owner you should. He is a really nice and interesting gentleman. read more

Cedars is a great spot for a nicer dinner. It is on the more expensive end if you want a quick dinner, but the service and food are very good. There is parking along the street. This is BYOB and they have dancers on certain nights. All the entrees come with a salad. I had the chicken dish with vegetables and rice, and I had leftovers. The food hits the spot. read more

Sadly, customer service lacks! My husband and I came in at 6 pm, wanting to grab a bite to eat. All tables but one were empty! We're told they're all for reservations between 6:30/7pm. The waitress then tried to seat us right next to the only other couple in the restaurant and wasn't willing to let us sit anywhere else. Very inflexible, terrible customer service! Great ambience. During a warm evening with a group of friends the front garage door/ wall was raised giving us a nice breeze. The appetizer portions were HUGE as well as the entrees fellow diners enjoyed. Every menu item was unique and tasty. BYOB makes it all the better. The only down side was the noise. If your Jewish keep it on the down low i think the owner was in the war? And you know any way you slice it the Lebanese always get screwed.If not buy the Israelis then by the Hamas, PLO or whoever ? A super friendly staff serving authentic Lebanese cuisine. Perfect lamb chops every time and really great Mezza's. On the weekends there is usually belly dancers which make it even more fun. It's BYOB so come prepared. By far most consistent restaurant in the Camp Hill area on food quality and service. Love that place. read more

Great food, we currently like to get the mezza and share an assortment of yummy appetizers, which turns out 5 for 2 people is a lot of food. I always like the seafood bisque, at lunch time the spicy sausage wrap, and assortment of desserts are enjoyed by all. Fridays normally feature belly dancer, and its appropriate for all ages and fun. Lunch - kitchen is slow, this isn't fast food, its good food, but come when you have more time to spend. Dinner - great for couples or groups. Servers are very nice and attentive. read more

Six of us went for dinner on Saturday night. The food was fairly good but nothing to rave about. The belly dancer was fun to watch. She did a great job. However, I had a Restaurant.com Gift Certificate that I purchased a little over a year ago and planned to use. Upon paying the bill, the waitress came back and said that it couldn't be used eventhough it clearly states on the certificate that it does not expire. The owner/manager came over to the table and was very rude and demeaning. He flatly refused to honor the certificate which was for $25.00 and went off in a tirade about how much I might have paid Restaurants.com for the certificate. We will never go back again and will be telling all of our friends about the treatment from this owner. You don't treat people the way he did when you run a business. Ok, I would like to say, the food is good. We were celebrating a family holiday today, and unfortunately, we couldn't stay to eat. An older member of the family has some lung issues, and the owner of the place was smoking a cigar in the small restaurant. The Cedars made me an instant fan of Lebanese! The atmosphere was very clean and the staff was very friendly and family like. I gave them a try for lunch one day and was very happy with the menu selection! As well as their promoted evening events. I hope to make it to one soon!:) read more

The food was so amazing and fresh and they're open late on Sundays. We got a small mezze with a range of vegetarian options and it was plenty for two. Smooth, delicious hummus, tasty lemony spinach pie, crispy awesome falafel, and the green bean dish was full of flavor. Highly recommended! read more

Went there the other night for dinner and the owner went nuts on a Jewish couple who wanted to make sure there was no pork in their food. The owner got really upset and became hostile. He kept screaming at them so they left and the owner followed them out and called out them FAGGOTS! read more

We were really looking forward to dining at Cedars. The atmosphere seemed nice. Both of our daughters are vegetarians and we heard that this was a great place for vegetarian meals. We ended up being a bit disappointed with the limited menu for them. We started off with the hummus-which was very good. We would have preferred the fluffier pita to go with the hummus-the flatter version was just okay. The cauliflower was actually pretty boring. A couple of us ordered the seafood bisque-which was almost inedible. (After the server suggested it and nobody finished theirs you would have thought she would have asked if everything was okay?) The spinach pie was quite boring-the crust tasted like Pillsbury refrigerator biscuits. The falafel was extremely dry and hard to swallow. The one entree that was very good was the lamb lollipops-excellent flavor. The dining experience itself started off fine-but when some of us decided to order a couple appetizers as our meal, I think we were disapproved of....(due to limited vegan choices). Not once did our server, or the owners for that matter-ever check on us to see how everything was. Although we were hungry for dessert and love baklava-we decided to go somewhere else for dessert. When we asked for our bill (which was almost $100) we provided the Restaurant.com certificate and were met with very negative glares. Our server said she would collect it after she totaled the bill. (We like to use the certificates to try new restaurants but will definitely not return to Cedars to use the other certificates we purchased). Our server did not include the 18% tip prior to the $25.00 discount as stated on the certificate and we included it anyway (why-not sure). It just wan't that pleasant for any of us. Oh-we enjoyed the belly dancer but she had on way too strong perfume-it didn't mix well with eating. Very disappointing meal and service -sad to say!! read more

I took my brother in law there for Sunday meal. I tried to order a greek salad after 5:00 and was told absolutely not the salads were only for lunch? We ordered the mezza.i.e.5 for $26.00, 4 dishes arrived and we had to wait for 20 minutes for the fifth one to arrive. The crab soup was cold served in a cold bowl. When I asked for the bill we were charged double for the mezza, another $26.00. The waitress did correct the bill. This is the worst dining experience I had in several years. The waitress seemed afraid to ask the cook for pita bread which we ordered but was not delivered for 5 minutes after the eggplant was delivered. We will never go back. read more

This restaurant is FANTASTIC. The food is delicious, ambiance is relaxing and exotic, feels like vacation. Love the BYOB because you can bring what you'd like to enjoy for drinks. Owner Mike is wonderful- kind and accommodating. We love this restaurant- all of the appetizers and the chicken kabobs and the lamb. Service is genuinely lovely. Turned off the turn pike trying to find some lunch and landed in paradise. Tucked into a quaint neighborhood, Cedars offers an outside patio with umbrellas and metal chairs and a lush interior. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun. The menu is quite substantial and offers substantially more choices than other Lebanese places I've been to. The service was essentially perfect. The inside of the restaurant is quite lovely with perfectly clean and inviting bathrooms. But the food, the food is where Cedars truly earns 5 stars. We had a fermented cheese appetizer served with very fresh pita bread. Very refreshing and great flavors. For lunch we had a lamb gyro and a baba ganoush wrap, both very moderately priced and both were some of the best Lebanese food we've ever had! Total bill under $20; too bad I may never be back, but we'll be comparing all subsequent Lebanese places to Cedars. read more

Food was overpriced and underwhelming. Service was okay, but the owner was standoffish. There were only a few people in the restaurant at the time and he didn't even ask if we were enjoying ourselves. He simply stared at us during our meal, which made me feel uncomfortable. I switched from tea to soda, because the iced tea tasted like it had been brewed in a coffee pot, and I was charged for two drinks (even though they are the same price!). We have been going to Cedar's for years and have always had great service and food. However, the last time we went I believe we had the manager as our server, and she was just plain mean and rude. She had a sour look on her face and dismissive tone the whole night she was serving us. She took our order after a table that arrived half an hour after us. Some of our table's food arrived an hour after the first half of our table's food. They were so hungry they had to pick off of our plates until their food arrived. When I told our server/manager that our table had been hungry and waiting a very long time after we already received our food, she gave a very snarky and sarcastic response. Her demeanor was so rude that our whole table was shocked and had gone quiet. Our water glasses had also been empty for two hours and were not filled until the end of our meal. Our bill was brought to us before we were able to ask about dessert since someone at our table was still very hungry. Every interaction we had with her was awkward and rude. We still had to leave an 18% tip because we had a party of 7. Our reservation was at 7:30, and we did not leave until close to 11 because the service was so slow and our table was neglected. We were not checked on once. The other servers we've had were always great, but I did not see them there that night. I will not be going back because I do not want to management to profit from us. Why would you be in the service industry if you are going to be so rude to your customer's and ruin their evening with your attitude? read more

I love to go to Cedars when I'm home from Brooklyn to visit my parents. It's veg friendly, good size portions, super friendly service, and delicious! The mezza are all awesome, as are the other veggie dishes--I've never had something there I didn't enjoy. I especially enjoy the grape leaves, the baba and hummus dips and the fried cauliflower with tzatziki. My parents usually have lamb or shwarma and seem to really like that as well. read more

The food here is delicious! I grew up eating Lebanese food because my parents had a lot of Lebanese friends. This has always been one of my favorite kinds of food. We went there the first time when they were in Harrisburg on the second floor of a used book store; their present place is way nicer! We always get the Mezzas, we enjoy being able to get a lot of small dishes to try (kind of like a Spanish Tapas). Their hummus with or without meat is great as is their kibbe balls. We like to get feta cheese and the baba ghanouj too. Everything has been great except the stuffed grape leaves; I have to admit that I make them much better lol. The only other thing that I really don't like is on the weekend they have a belly dancer. I know a lot of people like it but the restaurant is small and she comes and dances right at your table and wants tips. It's just not our thing I guess. If you don't want that, you can go earlier on the weekends or just go during the week. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants! read more
