This is one of my husbands favorite restaurants. We used to always go to the one in San Rafael or Sausalito can't remember. That is too far from Stockton. Whenever I'm in Antioch, I'll stop and get some plates. The service is really good. The lady at the counter is always super sweet and gets the order just right. The food is always on point. My only complaint today is the crunchy tacos. It wasn't crunchy at all. I was thinking of a crispy shell fried. Nope it was just tossed the grill, nothing crunchy about it. The food was good though. Beans and rice tasty perfect seasoning. The place is pretty upbeat and seems like it always have a good amount of people inside. We visited Celia's in Antioch today, and while the service was excellent, the margaritas fell short compared to the other Celia's locations we've been to. My partner ordered a regular margarita and I had the medium, and both tasted weak. The flavor wasn't there, and they seemed very light on alcohol. We're used to the Celia's in Daly City and San Mateo, where the margaritas are consistently strong, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Because of that, we expected the same quality here, but the Antioch location didn't measure up this time. That said, the staff was great. We're hoping they improve their margaritas because we'd love to come back. This isn't meant as harsh criticism...just honest, constructive feedback from people who enjoy Celia's and want this location to be just as good as the others. read more

Came here for a work birthday and had a great time! The staff was so extremely friendly and hung out and made great conversation with us. You can really tell it's family owned and super family friendly. Just based off of the ambience, the friendly staff, and the decor I would recommend coming here. They were able to seat our very large party of eight, Meaning that this is a very party friendly restaurant. I got the street tacos with pork and they did not disappoint! Not sure what has happened at our favorite restaurant, but the last 4 times we have been, it seems that they have done a dramatic shift in the quality of their food, food comes out cold or even frozen. I understand times are tough for restaurants right now, but the quality of food is not in one of those areas to compromise . There's too much competition out here and I really hope they can get their kitchen issues figured out because we have been going there for over 30 years and the staff is amazing. Celia's has that old school Mexican restaurant vibe. The big restaurant vibe, not the little spot vibe. It hasn't been updated in a while; seemingly barely maintained. But it's enjoyable and casual. They have live mariachi sometimes, which is cool. The food is solid. Good chips & salsa. Now, this may sound weird, BUT for many years they used American cheese in their cheese enchiladas. And it was DELICIOUS. It was the main reason I would go there to eat. The last year or two, when I ordered the cheese enchiladas, they had either cheddar or Monterey Jack in them. My favorite item changed, noooo! I was disappointed the first time the cheddar was used, so I asked ahead of time upon my next visit. The waiter assured me it would be American cheese in the enchiladas. (Again, I know: weird...but it's yummy!). When the food came, it was again cheddar cheese in the enchiladas. The waiter swore I was wrong, so I asked him to ask the cook. They told him, yes, it's cheddar. He explained that they got a good price on cheddar, and that the American cheese would be back soon. Unfortunately, the SAME thing happened two more times. The waiter told me it would be American cheese in the enchiladas, and then when I was served, it was either Monterey Jack or cheddar. BOO! Other than that, the service is good. I'll be back...I guess... but I won't order cheese enchiladas. Sad... read more

Food was good and service was great. Friendly customer service. I had the plate with a chimichanga (chicken) and a crispy taco. The only thing I would say is the chimichanga was more oily than crispy but the flavor was there. I also go the flan and it was delish. I've been to Celia's several times over the years. Noticably on the last visit which was this week, I could see that the prices were higher and the portion sizes were smaller. We were a party of 10 and only two people needed Togo containers. I had a delicious frozen raspberry margarita size medium, I wish I would have ordered the biggest one because it was so good. Been coming here for years! Food is always amazing and it doesn't matter what you order, it's always good. Service is always on point and they will damn near bend over backwards for you. Always a good atmosphere with plenty of customers. The mariachi band that comes in can be a little loud sometimes though. My husband and I recently moved to Antioch and are starting to seek out new local favorites and Cecelia's is a front runner for Mexican food! The restaurant is easy to get to and has ample parking. To be transparent the second time we had a coupon that had come in the mail. It was still a good value with and without the coupon. The service was great. Attentive, quick and our food was served piping hot. That is really important for me and my dad who was with us. Not all picture, but across both visits we had bean dip (soooo good! Creamy and comfort food), rum cocktails (Good. I'm not much of a cocktail drinker), chimichanga (beef, perfect portion) , a three item combo that included Chile Relleno (batter was fresh and fluffy and the cheese was perfectly melted), cheesy soft enchilada, and a taco (carnitas were meaty and I didn't get gristle), Camarones a la Diabla (favorite) and another tasty shrimp fish I can't remember. a definite decline in food portions over the last few months. the enchilada was about 2/3rd the size it used to be - seems like the kid portion. cancun platter is no longer a platter - again maybe 2/3rd the portion but a boat load of rice to make it look plentiful - price of adding beans has more than doubled. to go orders no longer come with chips or salsa but you do get a nasty comment on the receipt that thanks you for not dining in. this reflects the attitude of servers so why dine in? the elders still provide great service but others are not pleasant at all. no idea what customer service is all about and openly complain about their job. coupons are now dine in only and some require 2 drink minimum. i've been a customer and fan for decades but 1 more strike and i'm done. read more

We used to live here in Antioch for 21 years and we would frequent Celia's Mexican Restaurant probably every week or two. We just came back for a function after 6 years since we moved away. All the people recognized us and welcomed us with open arms. They were so happy to see us and took wonderful care of us. The ambiance is still the same a warm and welcome place to eat great food. My wife loves their cheese enchilada and compares every single Mexican restaurant to Celia's sauce, salsa and cheese enchiladas. I had Huevos Rancheros and they were amazing as always and my daughter loves their Polo en crema. Even after 6 years of absence the place hit the spot. The people are so nice and the service is great. When we visited in the past it could get really busy and service could take a little bit but this food is worth the wait. The Dendinger's are at Antioch!!! So peeps yes we decided to expand our horizons in the food area! We decided to try this new place here in Antioch. Let's dive in to the place outside! Lots of parking space the place is located in the corner of a stop light. The place outside looks amazing makes it feel like home. When you walk in there is an option to have the door open up automatically or by hand which is amazing for disabled folks. As you walk in you have the choice of going to the bar or being seated in the dinning area. There is also a area where kids could get candy and temp tattoos for 50 cents or 1 dollar. Wife ordered the chimichangas with a coke Son ordered the street tacos and a Dr Pepper Daughter ordered a chicken and cream burrito with a Dr Pepper I ordered the fajitas with a coke Wife's chimichangas were so juicy omg was amazing very crunchy from the outside layer and moist and juicy inside. My sons tacos were very plain and that's because he does not like salsa or onions but he did say that the asada was not dry that it did have flavor. My daughters burrito was huge and packed with a lot of chicken she how ever did not like it. She decided to order tacos like her brother. Now let's drive in to the fajitas talk about flavor talk about juicy meat talk about the amazing seasoning omg the chicken was not dry the asada was not burnt.
