After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to this place, and I was deeply disappointed. I ordered a sweet lassi, medium butter chicken curry, medium chicken biryani, and some garlic naan. The sweet lassi was anything but sweet, and definitely offputting. The food came out super fast, which was a red flag all on its own. Leads me to believe that it's been sitting there all day, but like at least reheat it before you serve it. The only thing that was hot was the naan. The biryani was cold and nothing spectacular the butter chicken curry kind of tasted like tomato sauce and was lukewarm. I honestly couldn't even concentrate on eating my food because there was so many flies buzzing around, I had to keep showing them away. I ended up taking more than half my food to go. The service was subpar, the restaurant itself looks clean, but after seeing all the flies, I don't trust it. I took more than half of it home, maybe it will be better once it's hot, but I doubt it. Fist off I don't like a hand-held payment machine screen put in my face asking for a generous tip while the server stares at me. Just bring me the check and leave it at the table. Seemed like a good value for the price but you get nothing extra with your entree so it adds up. Our lunch bill for 2 people was $80, including tip and tax. They used a very small chicken for the Tandori, but the portion was generous for 6 small pieces at $13. Some were barely two bites though. The Palak Paneer was absolutely delicious and also $13, just a tad pricey for me. It's more like a veggie side priced as an entree. The samosas were pretty good at $6 for 2. Add-ons were very pricey, such as rice for $5 and Mango Lassi for $6, but it was a nice, thick drink. The service was not very good. We weren't even offered rice and had to order it after the meal arrived. They should give more dipping sauce or put some at the table. I'd have loved it if something was included with our meal such as papadums or a small salad instead of EVERYTHING being ala carte. I might go back, but it has room for improvement and there are better deals out there than this place. read more

Last few times I have been here it has been very good. Comfort food for us. I am sorry at the owner's passing and he was a good man always helping others. His young sons have taken over and doing their best as they grew up by their dad's side. These are very good people and very community oriented. They do so much for others and are very kind people! I respect this family and support our local businesses so I have been eating here more often!!! Everyone in the community should support our good restaurants out here( bc honestly there are far and few between in the East County area and we need to keep the best ones out here!) and also support hard working good, decent and kind business owners! I wish these young men much success bc I know they will make their father proud as they are good boys and will follow in their dad's footsteps! First things first.... This restaurant I believe is way over priced and rated. The food is mediocre at best. I've had better tasting dishes at other places. I would really only return if I was desperate enough for Indian food.. I paid 104.98 for four butter chickens, four onion naan's and three pain rice. What a ripoff, when each order of the butter chicken only comes with about 4 to 5 pieces of cubed chicken that's tough and dry. Hard to even choke it down. Sauce is the best part of the dish. Lamb Tikka masala garlic naan and rice, landed on the table with the enthusiasm of a DoorDash delivery. After the food arrived the server camped out close by behind the counter watching TicTok which failed to blend with the music soundtrack. Ambiance = 0, could be a sandwich shop in Denver. Server made the strong case for a robot server with a soothing voice and a debugged server script. FOOD: Lamb Tikka Masala induced a flashback of Campbell's Tomatoe soup with a small splash of Tabasco sauce. Its smooth consistency lacked ANY assertive hints of: garlic, cumin, coriander, chili and most surprisingly its spirit spice amalgam: Garam Masala. The five chunks of lamb were diminutive in the sea of soup. Naan was a little charred, rice was perfunctory a bit over cooked. The food was savory , it was so good, I think they just gained a customer for life :) The restaurant was very clean, the waiter & waitress were very attentive. The serving portions were perfect. The rice was plenty (we ordered 2 individual orders but each serving was enough for 2). The food temperature was perfect, the lamb was nice and tender. We ordered chai, butter chicken, tikka Masala lamb, rice and garlic naan absolutely everything was delicious, we spent like $55 plus tip. The Restaurant is located in a shopping center by Target. There's free parking in the shopping center. Seems like they also have a buffet from 11-3. My mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was !!! OK, so I have an admission, yesterday . I saw another Indian restaurant in Antioch and they had a combination of my two favorite dishes. They combined eggplant and potato in one dish so I thought I would try it but let me tell you it was nothing like the baghan and the Alu gobi here! Here it is phenomenal and I crave it way too much. Came here today (still eating my food as I write this) and I have pretty pleasant things to say. At pickup (first time here) I was amazed by how the place looked. But, onto the food! I only got 1 item. I got the Chicken Biryani & it was good! It was ready within 10 minutes and wasn't too expensive, especially considering the large portion they had given me. The aromatic smell filled up my car as I brought it home & I had no complaints other than it making me hungrier by the mile. The flavor was there, with lots of spices and herbs; you can see it, smell it, and sense it. The rice & chicken were cooked to perfection, not dry at all. The only downside of the Meal (resulting in this 4 star rather than a 5 star) was the lack of salt. Luckily, I thought to add some once I started eating & it made my taste buds dance. My husband and I are not any kind of authority on Indian cooking by any means, but we are huge fans of the cuisine. We've both had some solid exposure to home-cooked recipes through roommates, friends, and coworkers, we eat Indian takeout regularly, and we make a variety of curry at home as well. We are fairly new to the area and I was super craving some curry, but this place did NOT hit the spot whatsoever. There was zero spice, it was very watery, and the curries were very tomato-y. It was almost like eating a spaghetti sauce rather than the well-rounded curry flavor I'm more familiar with. The naan was also a bit bland. I was most disappointed to find that the kheer did not have any nuts or raisins in it even though the menu clearly states "pistachios, almonds, and raisins" and it always at least had raisins in it when I ordered it from other places. However, the saffron rice was seasoned very well and the samosas had a lovely crispy, crunchy crust without being greasy. If you love authentic Indian food, my instinct is that this isn't the place for you. I think the flavors here cater more towards an anglicized version or a more entry-level / toned down variety. Bawarchi's is our favorite Indian place in town. All of the vindaloo and buryani we've had has been good, and their rice is always cooked properly. The naan is good as well. I will say that everything will have a little kick to it, even if you order mild. But it tastes good enough to power through. If butter chicken is your favorite, then know that is the least spicy thing on the menu, so you're set ;) i can't handle spicy food and I can still enjoy everything I've had here. came in with my girls to have some indian food. it was clean inside but a little hot, they need to have ac or something going. the veggie pakora was delicious it forsure hit the spot. The chicken biryani was alright not bad but i've had better. They don't have any kind of sparkling water so if that's your go to drink , you won't get that here. Service was okay.
