This was a rustic spot right on the farm that had a market and served farm-to-table dishes. There was plenty of room outdoors to sit. The service was friendly, and the menu had lots of fresh and intriguing choices. For a starter, the tempura fried garlic scapes ($12) were ordered. They came with a maple and fermented Fresno chili hot sauce. The tempura batter was tasty. The scrapes were very long so a knife was definitely needed. The hot sauce was a nice addition, and I was hoping for more of it, or for it to be given on the side. Now that I think about it, I should have just asked for more, bad job. For the main dish, the grain bowl ($19) and chicken torta ($19) was split. The grain bowl had brown rice, spelt, millet, chickpeas, lemon-tahini dressing, pickled vegetables, carrot, kohlrabi, feta, and a pomegranate molasses. This was very light and extremely fresh. All of the flavors mixed well with one another. The torta had a chicken guisado, lime-cilantro slaw, pickled onion, and jalapeno on a telera roll with a side salad. The salad was basically just mixed greens, no issue there. Again, this appeared extremely light, especially the soft roll. The chicken was flavored well and tender while the pickled onion and jalapeno gave a little crisp. The jalapenos also provided a slight kick. Will I go back? No doubt. read more

"It wasn't what I was expecting but it's really good!" Was our theme for my sixth visit to Farm Club. The restaurant is as farm to table as it gets. Much of menu is grown on the working farm, or comes from the surrounding area of Leelanau. And the lettuce just tastes better. Farm to table also means the menu is ever changing. There are a couple of staples, kale ceasar, chicken torta, beans and broth, their farm board, and of course their home made corn nuts. While beans and broth is simple, our group loves it, homey and flavorful, with their perfect greens side salad. I have generally ordered whatever the fish dish offering is, and it's also been amazing. They also recently opened their market, a bit of an expanded market from the small shop inside the restaurant, as well as sandwiches and bakery items. They have a few small tables. The restaurant does not do reservations. It's usually warm when we visit (this year was an exception) so we don't mind the wait as the long yard is lovely, with seating and a drinks and snack counter. read more

The cutest restaurant off the beaten path. I was traveling in the area and my work colleagues wanted something fresh and healthy so we decided on this spot. It is totally worth the drive out of town as this place has a great view, relaxing ambiance and friendly staff. All of the food was delicious and tasted fresh and healthy. We had the farm board, beans and broth, and chicken torta all accompanied by their home grown tea to help warm the cool and slightly wet day. For desert, we tried the Cherry Cornmeal Cobbler and a brownie that was served with the locally made Gabe's Vanilla Ice Cream. After sampling quite a few dishes, we left feeling full, but not gross, which is a testament to their good ingredients. Still my favorite local dinner spot whenever I am visiting the area! I went twice this year with positive experiences dining at the bar. My first time this year I had an excellent experience, with the beet salad, zucchini fritters, seasonal pasta, and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious! The last time was not my favorite - I didn't love the risotto or seasonal toast this time, and the last of my sides arrived well after my meal was finished. We have been here a few times now. I brought my sister and her little ones and they loved it. The food here is so fresh. It is a beautiful restaurant inside and outside. I truly always enjoy my time here. From their cute shop up front, to the servers, food and drinks. It's a great time. What an awesome spot! If you are in Traverse City or on M22, I encourage you to make the trip over to Farm Club. Get there early- on Sunday night we got there a little before 6 and waited 90 minutes for a table. But it went by quickly because they have a small market to shop, picturesque land to walk through, a wine/beer trailer to order from with charcuterie faire, and tables and chairs to enjoy until your table is ready. So even though it was a long wait, we were occupied the entire time and didn't feel like we were waiting! 90% of their produce is farmed on their own land. The menu is a collection of what is in season at the moment. Everything g we ordered was insanely fresh and tasty. We had a farm board, a chicken Thai salad, and the rhubarb dessert. Loved it all! A note as many, if not most, of the dishes were centered around veggies/fruit/grains- not a lot of meat to choose from! That worried me at first because we eat meat at every meal and normally that is the center of the dish, but because everything was so local, it was so delicious and I didn't mind the lack of meat based protein. read more

Favorite meal I had when visiting the Traverse City area! Charming true farm to table concept, with an easy approachable feel and curated retail that gives you the opportunity to leave with some of the yummiest food & drink items, merch, art, books, etc. For two for dinner, we ordered a few small plates, a main, and dessert, and live very full and happy. For elevated food, the portions were not small, and overall pretty good value. Ingredients were clearly fresh and high-quality, and I loved the unique combinations of flavors! We started with Tempura Bok Choy and Hakurei Turnip Salad. Why the heck isn't everyone tempura-ing bok choy?! So delicious with a light batter that was slightly sweet and savory with its sesame ginger glaze. Their technique must be flawless, battering between and into the bok choy leaves. So good. And then in contrast, the turnip salad was SO bright and fresh and herbaceous. The turnip and radishes were sliced SO thin and the coriander crumble and pickled mustard seeds were really fun crunchy flavor bits. Next up, Beans & Broth was so cozy (though only thing about this is that it cools down quickly and is less amazing when not hot). And the sausage with really good braised cabbage and a perfectly balanced mustard horseradish cream. Do not skip dessert! The Basque Cheesecake was perfectly textured, but the ginger-rhubarb compote and pistachio black sesame granola were standout flavors!! Beautiful, tasty, and complementary wine selection as well. Anytime we get close to M-22, Traverse City area, we go to Farm Club. It's a beautiful spot for a date, a mid-afternoon snack, or whatever else you have in mind. The expansive outdoor dining area lets you fully embrace the farm setting looking out on the beauty of the Leelanau Peninsula. We have eaten here several times and enjoyed it every time. The food is what you'd expect from a farm-to-table restaurant - unique, seasonal, unexpected, and price-appropriate for what you get. And the service is always top-notch, friendly, helpful and attentive although they don't rush the meal, ever. We haven't been to one of their many events but I'm always intrigued by their offerings so we'll try one soon. Farm Club has definitely built up a bit since we were there last and it's all definitely for the better! In addition to expanded formal dining tables outdoors they now also have a separate bar area out a little bit in the field so you can just come and have a drink and hang out outside amongst all their pretty greenery on a warm summer afternoon or evening. My husband and I also came for a dinner with his sister and her family and we had a lovely meal outdoors splitting several different plates including the arugula salad and a farm board full of tasty things like meats, smoked whitefish dip, and a few different cheeses. For my entree I went with the beans and broth which was excellent. Overall it was a lovely evening and everyone loved their meal. Really blown away by the Farm Club! The setting is stunning, right on a farm, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. There was a wait when we went, but they have a little farm stand outside where you can order drinks and small snacks while you wait. Once inside to eat, the service was prompt and helpful. They had a ton of gluten-free options. I had some well-cooked fish with coconut rice for my main course, but the little gem salad as an appetizer was actually my favorite bite of the night. Sunny Sunday afternoon ride in the trail and we got hungry. Right turn for the Farm Club!! This is. Staling farm to table concert that uses 90% of thier own produce in their menu. Starters. The past required some salt but the pasta was fresh made and the sauce was light and delicious. We had cold brew coffee and butterscotch pudding to end the meal. Honestly, the pudding was the standout. Indoor and outdoor seating. An outdoor bar. Bike parking and auto parking are plentiful. Don't be Deceived though. This is not a hokey commune run affair. It's well executed and priced above the middle class standard. The food is healthy and fresh. Service was prompt and thorough. We had to ask for salt and pepper and it took a hot minute. I first read about Farm Club in a fancy magazine and thought it sounded cool. It's been on my list for ages, so Nate and I finally made a stop there while in the area for my birthday recently. As you walk in, you'll see a little market area where they sell fresh produce, refrigerated drinks and snacks, as well as housewares, gifts, kids' items, books, merch, and more. We went at an off-peak time for meals, which was a great idea. I just wanted to check it out and have a snack and a drink. We were seated right away at a longer table. The seating in side is mostly communal tables and bar seating, but there is plenty of outdoor space. Our server was incredibly warm and welcoming. We decided on a couple drinks (a cider for me, beer for Nate) and I loved that they have a pour it yourself tap for still water AND sparkling water! How fancy. Then we ordered the tempura zucchini. The drinks came out quickly and the zucchini soon after. The zucchini was incredible. The portion was generous for our shared snack, and it was crispy, light, and so flavorful and well seasoned. Really delicious. Then we saw some desserts coming out and it was my birthday, so we ordered the blueberry trifle to share. Also an excellent idea - it was the perfect sweet treat to have with our snack. I really loved our short visit to Farm Club and can see why it's been so popular. We stopped by Farm Club on recommendation from a friend. We really enjoyed it! We were a little worried about the 90 minute wait, but they move people through fairly quickly. It is very busy on the weekend. We were lucky to have beautiful weather while hanging outside waiting for our table. You can get a glass of wine and snacks while you wait. They have homemade apple dumplings, apple pie pockets and buckwheat donuts. They were so fresh and delicious. For lunch, we had the board with crudités, sausage, Gouda and trio of yummy dips. It was still quite busy on a chilly earlier season Friday night for dinner and we opted to sit at the bar rather than wait for a table or sit outside. They do have beautiful outdoor seating though for those that come dressed for the occasion. Everything is super local and fresh and the flavors are amazing. Both were herby and fragrant and quite filling - in fact unless you're used to eating a lot of beans, the dish is would be best shared (I could barely eat a third of it!) my spouse was in love with the salty dressing on the side salad And the turnips in the walleye were probably the best tasting turnips we've ever had! They also have a cute market with plants, niche cooking utensils/books, other cute boutique stuff, and produce to look at. I've been wanting to come here to dine for so long and it was definitely worth the wait! Farm Club is basically what my aesthetic dreams are made of. Their branding from top to bottom is literally so cohesive and beautiful, I'm absolutely obsessed! They have a whole farm and expanse of grounds, along with the restaurant all in the same place. The restaurant is naturally very farm to table, so you get the freshest produce on your plate to enjoy. The grounds have fire pits and picnic tables for you to relax outside at and is super family friendly. Within the restaurant, there is a cooler of their own ciders and wines that they make, along with other local goods. They have a corner of more local products that are more houseware, homegoods, skincare, spa essentials, etc. And then they have YET another section that serves as sort of a farm stand! Selling some of their own produce for you to take home if you so choose! I was eyeing the purple daikon! You can browse these areas while you wait to be seated. I'd highly recommend coming during times when they aren't too busy. They don't do reservations and are pretty popular, so you are almost always going to be guaranteed to have to wait, unless you go during opening, in the middle of the week, or towards the end of the night about 1-2 hours before they close. The menu is constantly rotating depending on what time of year it is and what produce they have available. The portions are definitely smaller and things are a bit more elevated in price, but when I look at this menu, I see so many unique combinations of ingredients that I rarely ever see on other menus, so I definitely think it's worth it to treat yourself to an experience here! Visiting my girlfriend all the way from New Mexico, and this was one of two places she said we had to go to and for good reason.
