    Obama blackberry sour
    Dan-Carolina J.

Nice place but wouldn't consider this place a brewery. A few beer and food options. Mostly food going out at this time 1pm. If you like sour beer the Obama blackberry is sour and good.

What really impressed me was inside their attention to details from the root stumps on the roof, lights, those plants we had in college that grow across everything. Worth going and enjoy

It wasn't super busy. Fortunately, once we were seated, our waitress was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcomed. We decided to do a flight. My husband and I tried 5 different cider each. I was a huge fan of the cider that reminded me of fall (apples) called Octorock. But the tropical one, skinny dip sunset, came as a close runner up with pineapple and passion fruit strongly coming through. I also tried the Brom, peach and strawberry feels. The peach was probably my least favorite since I couldn't really taste it. It could have just been my taste buds, too! My husband's favorites were the vanilla and the cinnamon ones. I tried both and agreed. The vanilla really came through and was very aromatic and the cinnamon made me think of fall, especially when I drank it after the octorock. I wonder if they have a combination of both in the fall? We also got dinner while there. I had the fennel sausage pizza with their housemate Italian sausage. It was so good! My husband had the jerk pork shoulder served with rice and beans and said it was delicious and flavorful. Overall, it was a successful dinner and a great way to try different cider! The place has modern decor, well spaced larger tables (even the two seaters are quite roomy). They have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Since we took our pup on a couple of adventures, she stayed at the house and napped but we saw a few dogs enjoying the beautiful weather and the social time with their humans. This is definitely a great place for a meal or of you're feeling adventurous about ciders. They have a wide variety of selection, and quick, fantastic service (minus grumpus).

It was a mixed crowd, with lots of families and young children. I had the Northwoods Blueberry Açaí mineral water while I waited and it was SO GOOD. I loved the Rocket - I love any pizza with goat cheese! This was a great spot to kick off our vacation with the fam after a long day of travel!

When we got there, the hostess warned us that the pizzas were taking up to an hour to make. I appreciate that they warned us before we committed to dining there! We didn't mind the wait. There are no waiters, so you order everything at the bar then they bring your food to you with a table number. I ordered the raspberry beer and it was really good. I typically don't like beer, but I love fruit flavors. As an appetizer, we got the red pepper hummus and it was meh--I didn't really like it. It was thick and had the texture of cold refried beans and instead of pita, it was served with tortilla chips that tasted like Tostitos brand. For my flatbread pizza, I chose the Wolverine which was topped with pineapple, pepperoni, jalapeños. I've never had pineapple on pizza so I can't really be a good judge, but it was alright. I liked how thin the crust was. For dessert, we got the mini ice cream bars as recommended by the woman sitting near us. They're Ice Box Brand Ice Cream Bars by a Michigan-based company. They sell two sizes: regular and mini. I chose a mini toffee crunch and it was the perfect size. It was really good. I'd love to just buy these ice cream bars to have at home!!

When you come in, you are immediately and pleasantly assaulted by their dessert display case so feast your eyes and meanwhile, plan to save some room in your belly because trust me, you'll want some of their dessert. As a result, I ordered a salad, the up north cobb which was good and moderately filling and my husband had the special which was a chicken salad sandwich served with chips. We both had a nice lighter lunch followed by some delicious desserts. Generally, I order dessert and my husband eats what I cannot but this time, he orders his own. I had the cherry crumble and he had the sticky toffee pudding. Their dessert definitely satisfies the sweet tooth craving. So good and so much food! Service was fine. We ended up with the bartender as our waitress who had to do both roles during a busy time. She was a bit flustered but was generally pleasant whenever she came to the table to get our order and check on us. I only wish we were able to come here for dinner but lunch definitely did not disappoint and the dessert was epic!

Food - 4/5 Service - 5/5…read moreAmbiance - 5/5 As we were wandering Front Street, we decided to see if it would be possible to get into Poppycock's for dinner and so made a reservation in person in the afternoon with Lydia at the host stand. I'm so glad we did because this place is popular and folks calling in for a reservation got turned away! We did an 8:30 pm dinner on a Sunday and it was still plenty busy. My fellow companions split the banh mi fries and said they were really good. I ordered the pork ribeye and it was just as fantastic as our server Autumn said it would be / thank you for the recommendation! Other things ordered were the tomato swiss soup, Caesar salad and chicken confit, all very good. Only food hiccup was the burrata ravioli which my friend said did not really taste like burrata and the beet pasta sauce was thin and lacking flavor. It also didn't coat the ravioli at all. It seems like the non pasta dishes were the better options! If I was in Traverse City again, I'd be back!
