    Signature Meatballs

On 6/20, I ordered the 6 oz prime fillet mignon. The steak came out very rare. Tasted nice but it wasn't how I requested. I got an order of the signature meatballs, which came with garlic bread. Meatballs were great, bread had no hint of garlic. The Smoking Buffalo and Strawberry Smash cocktails were fantastic.

As a first time visitor to Traverse City, this restaurant was recommended to my family and I. We went for a late bite to eat around 9pm. The hostess was very friendly and seated us right away. Our waitress was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. We ordered some drinks that came out quickly and some appetizers that came out shortly after. I got the salmon bites which was a good portion. I didn't particularly like the sauce that was drizzle on it but overall the dish was fresh. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance that was perfect for a rainy evening. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, but I would try other restaurants in Traverse City before returning.

Should probably address that we didn't have reservations but bc they had a cancellation, they offered us a table at 845! We were so grateful for their kindness and service! Lots of parking on the street or in a lot across the way, but easily to access! Great lobby to wait until our table was ready... our table was much larger than our party but we made the most! Eddie with the best humor received our group and made a very positive experience, however, the food was out of this world!!!! The absolute BEST lobster bisque and filets to be served!!!! Literally melted in our mouths and yes we shared!!!! We ended staying a little past 10 (when they closed) to finish the Silver Oak but we appreciate the staff and all their efforts to help w our dinner! Cheers

Elk with haricot verts and red potatoes. In the background filet with mashed potatoes and haricot verts.

We got there early and there were only a few tables and the hostess acted like we might have to wait. Note, this is a place that charges you for a no show for a reservation. She got us seated. The waitress didn't seem too friendly but she warmed up later when I complimented her for refilling our water without being asked. She said that was her pet peeve as well. We had elk and a six oz filet. I love elk and I know it is usually close to rare but this one was more rare than I like and it had a bit too much char in the outside. This made it a challenge to cut. The portion was large. We each had a drink. The interior of the restaurant was nice. For how much it cost, I felt the cooks should have done a better job.

INCREDIBLE wedding catering! We had The Tasting Room cater our wedding, and WOW -- people are still talking about how amazing the food was! Every bite was perfect, and the staff couldn't have been more kind or helpful. They made everything run so smoothly and took such great care of us. If you want your guests to leave saying "that was the best wedding food ever," this is the place.

    Key Lime Pie Martini

I loved that we stumbled across this spot. Elegant, cozy, refreshing are just a few adjectives that come to mind. We ordered drinks and dessert and NOTHING disappointed. Ordered: Key Lime Pie Martini, The Flu Shot and the Crème Brûlèe It was a lovely experience and Jennifer was the cherry on top. Attentive, helpful and professional. I cant wait to come back and request on amazing dinner options.

    Elk Medallions

Chose to do dinner here while in town on business and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was great, a nice chill vibe with dim lighting and an upscale atmosphere. Started with a Belvedere martini with blue cheese olives, it was perfect. For dinner, I started with a side Caesar salad and had the elk medallions as my entree. The food was incredible! Elk is not something you see on the menu every day, so I jumped at the chance to try it. It was tasty and cooked to perfection, not to mention the portion size was massive and could've been shared amongst 2 people. This was a great choice for the evenings dinner! Thank you for a great experience!

The restaurant is a house in downtown Traverse City. They only have space for 22 seats, and it was never full during our visit. It is intimate and welcoming. I made a reservation three months ahead, and obtained a seating for 8pm. We were welcomed warmly, and immediately seated. A complimentary mushroom broth "tea" was brought out. My friend who does not like mushrooms even enjoyed it. The service was perfect. Our server understood how to facilitate tasting courses, and the one very small misstep (under down steak for the member of our party that is pregnant, so it was not a being picky situation) was immediately handled without needing to be asked. The wine sommelier did a beautiful pairing. She offered the right level of presentation. Our group of four did the tasting menu. As they are farm to table, and the menu is constantly changing, it is not beneficial to discuss specific menu items. I do want to say the celery soup was representative of the experience, something I would not think to try or sounded amazing but was. My non dessert eating friend loved her dessert, she actually ate the entire cake. Interesting, creative, but not pretentious. A meal to be remembered.

The staff tried to get us to move indoors, but the overhang on the patio was plenty to keep us dry and plus we got a free show of everyone across the street at the food truck park trying to scramble. Got the 5 course tasting with wine paring and it was more than enough food. No way could I have even tackled the 7 course!

I'm so glad we did because this place is popular and folks calling in for a reservation got turned away! We did an 8:30 pm dinner on a Sunday and it was still plenty busy. My fellow companions split the banh mi fries and said they were really good. I ordered the pork ribeye and it was just as fantastic as our server Autumn said it would be / thank you for the recommendation! Other things ordered were the tomato swiss soup, Caesar salad and chicken confit, all very good. Only food hiccup was the burrata ravioli which my friend said did not really taste like burrata and the beet pasta sauce was thin and lacking flavor. It also didn't coat the ravioli at all. It seems like the non pasta dishes were the better options! If I was in Traverse City again, I'd be back!

We were at the kitchen counter and the head chef/owner talked to us a lot while he was at the pass finishing dishes. He was not overbearing, where it was annoying. He was very friendly. He asked a lot of questions and we returned the favor. He went around talking to other tables too. Besides him, the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating, including the chefs doing the cooking! It was one of the best experiences I had in regard to the staff. I have included what I ate below. Everything was timed out well too. Our Bread ($8) - This was a cheddar bread with ranch butter. This was very good. It came out extremely warm. The ranch butter was light and paired perfectly with the soft inside and slight crisp on the outside of the bread. Cucumber ($16) - This came with salsa Macha, pickled jalapeno, and cilantro. This appeared extremely fresh. There was a slight kick from the jalapenos and/or salsa. It all went well together with one another. Ricotta Gnudi ($17) - This came with pea, basil, country ham, and Marcona almonds. The gnudi had an unreal texture. The almonds were a nice added touch for some crunch. I did not really think the ham was needed. Potato ($17) - This came in a brown-butter cheese sauce with shallots and pickled mushrooms. This was my favorite non dessert dish of the night. The cheese sauce was unreal with tons of flavors, while the pickled mushrooms combined with the crispy shallots made for a superb pairing. Fried Chicken ($16) - This came with two large chicken pieces with a white BBQ sauce. This was brined in Earl Grey tea. The skin was crispy as anything, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. It was moist with great color. The white BBQ sauce was one of the best sauces I had in a while. I do not have much experience with white BBQ sauces, but this was tremendous. The vinegar could really be tasted and paired well with the hot crispy skin of the chicken. Halibut ($47) - This came with white beans, chermoula, and black garlic. The halibut was cooked perfectly, and the chermoula was ideal with the slight crisp from the large beans. There was also a nice crunch from crispy brown rice it seemed like. Key Lime Pie ($16) - This was with a homemade graham crust, white chocolate, and a basil meringue. This was my favorite overall dish of the night. The crust was one of the best I ever had. It was so buttery and had a perfect thickness to the key lime filling. The little meringue pieces on top was an ideal topping. Will I go back? Obvious.
