I really didn't want to leave a negative review for a local business, but unfortunately due to a recent experience I have no other choice. I have given the company multiple chances to make this right, but they have continued on a downward spiral of negligence and excuses. I originally chose Cellino based on a recommendation. My initial experience was excellent: I contacted Cellino regarding a furnace issue, and the team provided exemplary service. Based on that experience, I trusted them for an HVAC project in my greenhouse. On September 6, a representative named Chris came out to provide an assessment. He spent a substantial amount of time taking measurements, photographs, and assured me that Cellino was well-equipped for this type of project. He took photographs of the equipment we had on site and Chris noted he had "a lot of homework to do" but would provide a quote shortly, expressing confidence that our project was routine. We received a quote on September 18th, and although it was higher than other options, my trust in Cellino's service quality and supposed exemplary customer service made me comfortable proceeding. After Chris's visit, multiple other representatives from Cellino visited my project over the next month, taking further measurements and assessing the space. At no time during these visits was it mentioned that the heater proposed might be incompatible with the greenhouse's size. Unfortunately, when the installation team arrived on October 22nd (mind you, over a month after initial site visit and this is Buffalo, NY where we have had 2ft of snow on October 13th), I was informed that the heater was, in fact, overpowered for our greenhouse. This was the first I'd heard of this issue, which I believe should have been caught during the quote preparation or one of the several assessments. This oversight has had a cascading effect on our business. Over the following weeks, we had to navigate back and forth between Cellino and the greenhouse manufacturer, ultimately deciding to exchange the heater for a more suitable model. The heater was ultimately installed, but not hooked up as Cellino had to still install a fan and an electrician run the wires. This delay has resulted in significant losses, with thousands of dollars of stock lost due to insufficient heating. On Tuesday, November 5th, I called Cellino to check on the status of the fan installation, as my electrician was ready to proceed. I was told that a message would be passed to Aaron, but I received no callback. I followed up on Friday, November 8th and told the dispatcher that I was desperate for an update and to escalate my situation. I received a call back from Aaron later in the day and he informed me the fan was over powered and that they could not install it. Why was this not caught with the initial quote when the several representatives had "a lot of homework" to do? Why was it not caught later when they went to install things and then caught later? Why did they not tell me the couldn't finish the project due to a heater and wait for me to contact them? I am absolutely furious about this whole experience. Aaron said he would send me options by the end of the day Friday, but I received nothing. I reached out to another representative at the company and let them know that I was inclined to leave a negative review detailing my experience, but wanted to give them one more chance. He appeared to be concerned and confident that they would take care of the situation immediately. Here we are at the end of the day on Tuesday November 12th with no one who has reached out to me in regards to my concerns. Living in Buffalo, we're fortunate that temperatures haven't dropped drastically, but we're running out of time as colder weather approaches, and each day without heat puts more stock at risk. We never had an issue over the winter with our 2 yr old system not being able to maintain temperature. The temperature at night was not even cold, was 50 degrees. And we woke up to the house not maintaining heat to our set 68 degrees. Our old system did this a few times and that is why we needed a new furnace. This doesn't add up. Disappointing Experience with Water Heater Repair I recently called Cellino Plumbing to check my tankless water heater before start the baseboard heating , and Mr.Troy Cellino came to check it. He suggested that the heat pump needed to be replaced. Got a replacement heat pump through the manufacturer's warranty, Though I'm paying almost $1700.00 only for labor.Today Troy and one other technician returned to install it. The installation took the entire day, he said everything up and running but the work is incomplete, the water heater started making a loud knocking and snoring noise, which he wasn't able to fix. Additionally, during his initial visit, he agreed to install two Honeywell T4 thermostats that he recommended, assuring me that no extra wiring would be needed, which would avoid additional charges. However, after spending all day on the installation, he couldn't install one of the thermostats. Now, he's claiming I need to run extra wiring, which means more charges, even though he previously said it wouldn't be necessary unless if I choose Honeywell T5 which has WiFi and advance features. When I pointed this out, he became defensive and threatened to remove the newly installed parts and leave the job incomplete, telling me to call another company to finish it. I found Cellino Plumbing to be honest and fair, with both their services and pricing. Adam [the plumber] did great work, and I found him to be trustworthy. After another plumber that I had found on YELP, gouged me for $259 to clear a bathroom sink drain, and then TRIED to charge me $199 for new drain and J trap parts, PLUS another $259 to install them. [I found the pricing to reassemble the sink drain to be exorbitant, and politely told them to leave]. Thereby, having an unusable sink, and also not knowing if the drain that I just paid $259 to clear, was working! I reached out via YELP to Cellino Plumbing and one other recommended plumber. Cellino could be at my home in two days, the other plumber would've taken a week to get here. I am happy I chose a Cellino Plumbing. They replaced the J trap, plus drain for approximately $200, installed! Fair. I was so happy with the price and quality of work, that I hired them to reinstall a toilet that my son and I thought we fixed six months ago. [It was like a rocking horse]! Turns out the parts had to be replaced, and Cellino charged $200 to fix and stabilize. Well worth it. I have used several plumbers over the years on my older home. Some did quality work, but were very expensive. Others, did poor work and were very expensive. So I tried Cellino Plumbing, and I am happy with what they did, and what they charged. I had this company previously service my boiler and complete a small plumbing job. The work was fine. I had to have some work done on the line that goes from the sump pump out to the bubler by the curb. Water was not making it to the curb. I also had a sink hole forming above some drain tile. They were supposed to figure out why. I was not home at the time but they said that was fine. After I arrived home, even though it was raining incredibly hard, I still did not have any water making it to the curb. In addition, now my sump pump was running every 30 seconds. My downspout was disconnected from my house and propped up on the edge of the pipe in the ground. Water was collecting around the foundation. It does not appear that they even looked at the sink hole. They used my hose, which was fine. They did not put it back. They left it all over the back yard. They also left my gate wide open despite a sign indicating thatI have dogs on the gate. Really careless. I called around 3:30 to let them know about the sump pump running non-stop and the pouring out of the drain pipe. I was worried that my sump pump would burn out and that water would come in along the foundation. The person on the phone called a technician and then called me back to say they would not be able to come out until some time next week! It rained a lot this weekend and it was pretty stressful. At some point Saturday night the drain pipe fell off and now water is coming out of the elbow and down to the ground around the foundation. I'm waiting for their call. I received an invoice when they finished and foolishly paid it without checking the work, so I can't imagine I'll hear back any time soon. read more

I was looking for a reasonable and reliable plumber to replace a broken kitchen faucet. I had never heard or used Cellino plumbing before but figured I would give them a try. They would not give me a quote over the phone. The said just the service call fee in order to come out and give me a quote was about $30. - they are booking a over a week out so I waited for the first available time. - then when they showed up they told me the faucet change was a "really easy job and would only take about 20-30 minutes"..... the TOTAL quote was ...... $357!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For twenty minutes of work, over $350 COMPLETE HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!! They make you wait for over a week to come out and then totally rip you off. Now I know why they have the crappy business practice of not giving quotes initially! This was a totally unreasonable price but I was forced to pay and get the service done because after waiting over a week I could not wait any longer and had no other option. We have been working with Cellino Plumbing since we moved to Buffalo in 2022. The people who come out to assist are always very courteous, but with our last 2 projects, they were not able to actually do what we asked them to do, requiring multiple visits and charges for their time each time. We had them come to install a new faucet on our bathroom sink. The young man did install the faucet but the hot water had reduced pressure compared to before the installation. He said he was unable to fix it without removing our sink from the wall (a project we were unwilling to undertake). We had Cellino come back to work on a different project and I asked the plumber about the sink. He was able to fix it without removing the sink. There had been debris in the hot water line and he removed it so the pressure returned to normal. However, he did not replace the escutcheon before calling the job complete. We were charged for the time of both plumbers. Most recently, our tankless hot water heater wasn't working well, so that the hot water in the shower would come to temperature, but then quickly lose heat to an almost tepid temperature. We had Cellino plumbing come to the house and the technician could not determine the cause of the issue. He came back the a few days later with his supervisor and he also couldn't find the cause of the issue. They descaled the hot water heater (something they had been doing for us annually), and told us we likely needed to replace the tankless heater or put in new gas lines. We were charged for their time and the descaling. We then called a plumber from another company. He identified the issue and fixed it (a plug was bent so the electricity was arcing rather than going to the heater). He also then said the tankless hot water heater was not descaled correctly which was contributing to the issue and he had to redo it. I called the main office to cancel our membership and told them about the issues. They said they would have someone call me. He emailed my spouse instead. I called again and asked him to call me, letting them know that I needed to hear back that day because I wouldn't be able to pick up the phone while at work. He then called back the day I was at work and left a message. I have not heard from him since. We have decided not to work with Cellino Plumbing on any future projects read more

In the past we had no problems with Cellino. Had them come out to get some ideas of what could be done to get our A/c to move to the second floor better. Paid the service fee of $89 which was fine. When they went to cash out my husband it ended up being another $98 for diagnostics in the air conditioner. Typically, I would have no issues paying for services, however, my husband was told that they needed to do some extra work to look at the ac but never said anything about an additional charge. IF we would've been told there was gonna be an extra charge for the AC we would've said don't bother because it was under warranty with the company that installed it. When I got my follow up call from Samantha from Cellino I explained how we didn't realize there was going to be an additional charge and how I was surprised because usually we are told about one, given the estimate and sign off on it before more work being done. The response I got was completely out of line. I was told by her that yes, he did tell my husband there was going to be a charge (basically said my husband was lying). She then called the tech who came out who then confirmed he said he was going to do extra work (but didn't explain an additional charge). She was 100% rude on the phone, was chuckling while telling me "well they aren't going to do work for free". I didn't want my money back, I wanted acknowledgment that I'm sorry about that, we will definitely address it etc. Basic customer service. The end result was no accountability on their part and the call ending. Needless to say, when they ask you for payment, apparently you have to refuse right then and there if you don't want to pay something that wasn't explained to you. Essentially this should've been an estimate, at a minimum the service call fee, but ended up being almost $200 and an awful response from their customer service when you mention a complaint. We are canceling our monthly subscription payment and future maintenance apts we have and will stick with T-Mark or someone else going forward after the experience with Samantha. read more

Not happy with the service cellino plumbing did so far but I will change my review if they can fix my issue. Back in August 2022 I called cellino plumbing to come check out my sump pit and bubbler system. I was getting large amounts of sand into the pit and ejecting out to the street thru the bubble system making a mess. They came out and looked at it and said it's a bad/faulty bubbler system probably with a broken pipe. I then hired them to replace the 80ft of pvc line to the street thinking this would fix it. I was charged a little over $4,200 for the repair. About an month later I noticed sand again in the sump pit and going out to the street. I called cellino plumbing and was told that's not from the bubbler system and it's an unrelated issue! They came out snaked the line with a camera and they refuse to go any further to figure out the problem. I had 2 other bigger plumbing companies come out and give me an second opinion and they both had the same answer, cellino should have started digging around the base of the sump pit in the basement and the issue is not with the bubbler system. So bottom line I payed all that money to have an bubbler system swapped out that didn't need to be touched and I'm out 4200 dollars. I called recently to ask for an refund and again keep getting pushed aside. I will be looking to other ways to get my money back because this is unfair. I would never suspect a huge company like this to rip off an customer so people be aware this stuff happens. I will update this post if I hear back from cellino plumbing tho. I could not be more disappointed with Cellino Plumbing. To summarize they charged $1200 to add a hose clamp to a pvc waterline. And move a shower drain 10 inches. Keep in mind I had already removed the subfloor. The pipes were open and exposed. After the work was done. The drain was in the wrong place. I had to move the wall framing out at my own expense. Customer service decided to waste my time in person. They insisted on coming out to the house to see it themselves, even though I didn't want them to. While here, I asked him what they could do for me considering the two small things they did were not great and the wrong placement cost me time materials and square footage in my small bathroom. I was told "I didn't have any intention of coming out here to reimburse or refund you for the mistake." So why did they insist on coming out. Do yourself a favor hire a small independent plumber instead. If you do make the mistake of bringing Cellini in be sure to break down as small as possible each itemized task they give you. Also measure and check carefully before they leave. Unfortunately you can't trust them and their management will not make it right. After less than stellar service from our past plumber, we got tired of waiting to have our tankless hot water fixed or repaired. I called Cellino and their very efficient and friendly dispatcher was able to fit us in the very next day. Not only do they give you an estimate of when the technician will be there--once he is en route, they texted a photo of him, his name and a little background blurb with a more precise ETA. The technician was very thorough and explained our options and the related costs clearly. He was able to replace our water heater in a few hours, swipe my credit card on his tablet and email me a receipt immediately. A thank you from Cellino arrived in both my inbox and in my text messages. About 10 days later, I arrived home to find a Cellino coffee cup filled with 5 chocolate chip cookies on my porch with a thank you note and coupons for discounts off future work. These guys have got customer service down to a fault. Basement floor drains were backing up. The furnace was in danger. I am not sure I am happy with Cellino. After the first guy took over FIVE hours to just diagnosis the problem as tree roots blocking the pipes carrying the water out to the creek, (not uncommon) followed by John with his 15 yrs experience to confirm it in another hour all to the tune of over $650 without fixing anything. I will say both men were on time and courteous. John's experience was most notable. But after All that time and money they left with water still in the basement. When you don't understand a problem, it can be scary. When you do understand a problem - and the potentially astronomical cost of addressing that problem - it can be terrifying. That's how I felt when we realized that, for some unknown reason, EVERY drain in our house (toilet included) was draining into our sump pump. Had it been plumbed wrong? Was there a broken line? Was the problem in the house under the floor? Outside somewhere on the way to the street? Would we have to dig up our yard? It takes little plumbing knowledge or research to know that these kinds of repairs can easily move into the 4 and 5 digits. After looking at reviews I ended up calling Cellino Plumbing because I felt like the good reviews outweighed the negative ones. Plus they had a Yelp deal that was a little added incentive to talk with them. We discovered the problem Friday night, called on Saturday, and they were able to get someone to our house on Sunday. I did have to call a second time on Sunday but it turned out we were scheduled and they just hadn't gotten a chance to call us back yet. No problem - we appreciated the rush service given the fact that we couldn't use our toilet until this was resolved. John came out and was friendly and professional from the time he called to let us know he was on his way until he shook hands on his way out when everything was resolved. He was clearly experienced and knowledgable and I very much appreciated that he spoke to me like an equal who could understand what the issues and solutions were. You would be shocked how many contractors won't do that. We were fortunate that the problem ended up being a simple enough fix but it would have been very easy for someone to take advantage of us. John was upfront about the pricing, and proposed a solution that was effective both in terms of cost and addressing the problem. For those curious, our situation ended up being that the contractor who installed our sump pump as a condition of sale for the seller cut corners. They connected the sump pump to a floor drain connected to the sewer line, which they should have removed or, at a minimum, sealed. When the sewer line backed up, it overflowed into the sump pump. John snaked the main sewer line with the proper size snake (explaining that you don't want to rent the 1/2" snakes from HD because they ball up inside the 5" pipes) and then ran a camera from inside the house and from the trap in the front lawn. We were able to see for ourselves exactly what issues we did and did not have. John then gave us some inexpensive and easy prevention steps we could take over the next few years to avoid the kind of costly repair we were afraid we might have to do this time. Overall, I was hugely relieved on two counts. The first, was obviously that we didn't have a bigger plumbing problem, as we were afraid that we would have to dig up the yard in addition to the damage repair that we have to do in the basement as a result of this problem. The second was that I lucked out on getting a plumber who was clearly trying to save us money and who was very knowledgable about identifying and solving our problem. We all know that this isn't always the case. After having reviewed the other reviews and having had them fix a serious issue for us in less than 24 hours, I would definitely recommend Cellino plumbing and suggest that you ask for John. We own a very old multi family and have called Cellino Plumbing for very large and small problems. We typically get John and he's really great. Today we called them on a Friday morning when buffalo got blast with snow and the entire city was delayed a few hours. We had asked them to come after 2 ok when one of us got out of work. John was there by 4, called a half hour before arriving (standard for any one at Cellino Plumbing) and was gone by 7 pm. They always have written estimates before they start any work and always clearly state any possible charges. You call a company like Cellino Plumbing for the company that stands behind the name and expect to pay a little extra. They've always been more than fair with pricing and usually come same day! Cellino does not necessarily give you a free estimate. There is a $30 charge for the technician to come out, review and provide an estimate. However, if you mention Yelp! you get that review free. I had a leaking drain from one of my shower. Their pricing was on the higher side for me to engage for the work. I found someone else for a better price point perspective and carried out the work. Jeff was extremely professional and diagnosed what he thought was the issue within minutes. After opening up the wall he was spot on. Removed a section of rusted pipe, sealed it back up with a very small portion of the wall removed. Other issue was resolved with parts he had on hand in the truck. Work was great and his quote was exactly what I was charged. I will use Jeff and Cellino again and recommend them to others. Update: Used them for a third time now....service was again excellent and I went to use the Yelp coupon and Yelp was down (yup, the Yelp's site wasn't working). They charged me full price without the coupon. I talked to them next day explained Yelp's failure and they cut me a check for the discount, that came in the mail the next day. Told me my issue was not with my main sewer drain but with my utility sink. Snaked all. Everything is working as it should be. The price he offered up was far less than I have SEEN IN AGES. I was so happy with his work that I had him switch out an older toilet to a newer comfort height with less water usage. All done in the span of a few hours. What can I say? We purchased our home about two years ago and have been building up our roster of home pros we can trust. We were looking for a plumber as we had a plumbing issue, and also thought it'd be great to find a good plumber we can always call when we need them. We called Cellino and they told us they'd come over that day, but got too busy and called us to reschedule. Fine, we thought, being busy must be a good sign! They also waived the service call charge, which I thought was really nice. That's where the niceness ended. When the plumber came out to give us a quote on replacing a cracked shower valve/corroded plumbing, we almost fell over when we heard the price they wanted to fix it! Not sure if they tried to rip us off because we don't know anything about plumbing, or because we're young, but we were not happy at all! There was also a weird fee on the invoice for a service partner annual agreement - what?? Not cool. Found an amazing plumber elsewhere who did the job for over half the price of Cellino, and they did it exceptionally well! They have a customer for life in us now. My sister-in-law ended up hiring Cellino to repair her ruptured sewer line. They finished the job in a timely manner but neglected to tell her they hit a gas line while digging up her yard. 2 months after the installation, they were experiencing strong gas odor and after further investigation, it was determined to be coming from the sewer lines!!! My niece, nephew and sister had to evacuate. I could only imagine what would of happened if they didn't catch this sooner. This company is neglectful and sloppy. read more

Celino said, No repair per the factory... and charged 1300 LABOR to put in a hot water tank - $2300 Total. I have to start by saying Tony Cellino is an honorable man. I wish I could say the same for the so called plumber he sent to do the work my wife and I contracted him to do. John C is an nice guy but we didn't hire him because we needed a new friend, we hired him to be a plumber to do a relatively simple bathroom remodel. He was not up to the task. In fact, he took our plumbing situation and made things worse. First, he back pitched the waste line he was paid to tie into. Second he hacked a hole in the wall of the second floor apartment, cutting through and eliminating the structural integrity of a 2" X 4" and cobbling together a repair to reconnect a breather pipe. Then in changing out a radiator he got in over his head and spent a whole day running around buying parts and installing breather valves which were not necessary. Finally, in installing the rough plumbing for a wall mounted sink, he forgot to take into consideration center lines and length of distance between supply/waste lines and faucet/drain hookups. By the time we became aware of this issue, drywall was installed and it was simply too costly to go back and correct his mistakes. After complaining loudly to Mr. Cellino, he sent out a qualified plumber who corrected all of John C's work in a neat, timely, and competent manner. So we're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to writing this review. The plumber who is assigned to do your work is by luck of the draw. If John C shows up at your house to do anything other than minor work, I would send him packing. But Cellino Plumbing does have extremely competent employees and as I stated at the beginning of this review Tony Cellino is an honorable man. I have used Cellino in the past for an emergency situation. On 4th of July weekend, we had a blocked main sewer line. I called Cellino Sunday morning and had a technician at our house by noon. Their service is fantastic; I would highly recommend this company. read more

I know an elderly lady that needs a faucet replaced in a bathroom. They quote 80 for the faucet. The total job cost was 500. Unbelievable. I bought the same faucet for 50 and installed it in 20 minutes. This is a totally dishonest company. The owner should be ashamed of himself. read more

Had a horrible plumbing incident happen and they where able to get someone out right away! The customer service was extremely organized and friendly. They give you an estimated time period which he was there right away. Our plumber - Nick was very knowledgeable and time efficient. Affordable prices and I like how they have a 30 day warranty.
