I cannot recommend this professional cell phone repair shop strongly enough! ===The Problem:=== Late Sunday night, my husband's Samsung Galaxy S2 switched itself off and refused to reboot. We did the ol' pull out the battery and re-insert trick, which made the phone turn on--kind of. Instead of actually booting up all the way, the phone would get partly through the booting process, the screen would go black, and the phone would vibrate every 2-3 seconds. It seemed hopeless. The phone contained over three month's worth of photos of our baby son though, so rather than shoving it in a box and awaiting a replacement, we googled around to figure out exactly what sort of malfunction we were dealing with. As it turns out, the issue was entirely mechanical. Samsung Galaxy S2s apparently have a nasty habit of letting their power switches shake loose or jam completely, which causes the refusal to boot and the vibration cycle. Neither my husband nor I is a micro-electrician though, so instead of ordering precision soldering equipment and having at it ourselves, we went in search of a professional. After calling around a bit the next morning (we live in the Inland Empire), we found a few cell phone repair services who had the tools and the knowledge for the job, but none of them had the parts in stock to complete the repair that day, and almost all of them were one-man operations which felt a bit shady. I didn't feel comfortable entrusting such an expensive electronic device to a guy-in-a-van who accepted only cash for payment. ===The Solution:=== Cellspot was well worth the drive into Orange County. Cellspot's storefront is professional, bright, and centrally located in a Tustin office park--convenient to several freeways. I dropped the phone off at three o'clock in the afternoon and took my son to Disneyland while we waited. At 6:45 p.m. Cellspot called to inform me that the repair was complete. When I retrieved the phone, it was as if nothing had ever happened. Cellspot's in-house technician did a beautiful job of soldering in a new power switch and the phone was exactly as it was before it wigged out. Better even, since the new switch was mounted more solidly than the old one. Everyone I dealt with at Cellspot was remarkably professional, from the employee I spoke with on the phone before driving in, to the employee who did the intake on my repair. They keep parts in stock and technicians on site, and many repairs are completed quickly enough that I noticed other customers waiting briefly for Cellspot's signature repair: the cracked screen. Cellspot is also affordable. The cost for replacing the switch was about $65, which was more than worth it considering how many pictures of our kid were trapped on the seemingly bricked phone--although they are of course safely backed up to Dropbox now! What's more, Cellspot stands behind their work with a 180-day warranty. If your phone is salvageable, Cellspot can probably fix it. So before you slap your old phone in a box and lose all your data (not to mention apps and the screen configurations you've tweaked until they were *just right*), give Cellspot a call! This being my second review, I appreciated the lengths the manager took after my first review posting. He really did make sure that I was recognized as a valued customer. It was unfortunate that the first time around was not completely satisfactory, however this time was good. My screen was fixed for free, since it was discovered the frame was bent and not properly fixed the first time around causing the screen to crack with slight pressure. So, by now I have dropped my iphone so many times that I've lost count. My screen has been cracked for several months, but just last week the LCD went out too. Apple quoted me a price of $109 for just the screen repair, which also came with a replacement of the front facing camera, I'm not sure if the LCD was included in this price. However, apple could not get me an appointment for another week, then at least 1 additional week waiting for my phone to be repaired while I was meanwhile phone less . That wasn't going to work with me, as I would be traveling in a 1.5 weeks. I did my research, via yelp, this place had the most reviews and the most positive reviews. I called and got an estimated time on the phone, they said they just needed 15 minutes to repair it, and they finished in 15 minutes just like they said. The owner was super nice and answered my dumb questions without getting annoyed like the owner at the other repair shop and at Apple did. They said just the phone screen would cost $120, lcd would be additional. In total I paid $185 for LCD, new screen, new from facing camera, glass screen protector, and phone case. It was pricey, but their efficiency was worth it. My phone is like brand new and I'm guaranteed a 6 month warranty. They take credit, PayPal, cash, anything. The tech came out and talked to me about my phone and I asked him other techy questions about storage and such and he gave me some really good advice. Overall great service, great customer relations, and would recommend this place to anyone who asked for a repair shop, as I know it's difficult to find a place you could trust. read more

I have never damaged my phone, never. So much so that I've always felt that insurance on my cell phone was waste of money. But last night as i was talking on my phone, it just slipped from my shoulder /chin grip. So I went in around 11am to drop off my phone! My touchscreen was not working plus the screen was cracked. They called me around 4:30 to let me know my phone was finished. I went in and tried out my phone but the problem wasn't fixed. My touchscreen still wasn't working. They then told me to go back around 7 and so I did. They close at 7:30 but I was there until 7:45 waiting for my phone. Finally they fixed my phone for $90 and gave me a free phone case and screen protector. So.. I dropped my iPhone 4s and cracked the screen for the 3rd time. I finally decided to buy a case now :) Haha! I actually found this place going to the Aria supermarket (In the same parking lot as the Costco at the Tustin Market Place) It's a small cell phone store inside the supermarket. Owner of he store is called Ali! Since my usual cell phone repair guy (icracked in Orange great guys too) the Cellspot is so much closer to my work and living quarters in Irvine. The lowdown is $75 dollars to replace the front screen on the iPhone 4s and takes about 2 hours to fix. You can also drop it off and pick it up later, which is what did. So far so good, my iphone is back in action, way cheaper then the deductible WITH insurance (Assurion Verizon, big thumbs down which is $200 to replace the phone if you break the screen). Dropped off my cracked galaxy s3 and picked up a brand new looking phone. The entire ordeal was painless and I was relieved they opened till 7 pm for added convenience. I dropped a star because I had to go back as a result of glue on the sensor and had to wait around for a bit. But they didn't try to argue back with me (like I hear some other places do) and just fixed it on the spot. Everyone was super nice and accommodating as well. You can call in ahead of time and get quoted a price or you can walk in and they have their yelp check-in offer/in-store coupon on the back of their business card. We use yelp with great regularity and one of the best features is being able to request quotes from multiple vendors at one time. We were looking for a replacement iPad screen for an iPad pro. After a couple of emails between us and CellSpot, confirmation of quality, durability and likeness to the original iPad screen. We were assured of all three. However, a week after bringing the iPad home the screen cracked in one spot on the bottom and continue to crack from there as pieces fell off of the screen we could see how thin the replacement glass was and what poor quality it was. We've had screens replaced on other iPads by other vendors with much success and very positive things to say about each of those experiences. I emailed CellSpot about the issue and was told to bring it in right away and they would take care of it. Upon arriving at the shop we were told they would not replace it and that no replacement screens would ever be of the same quality as the original screens. If we wanted them to replace it again we would have to pay for it. The customer service is exceptionally poor the quality even worse. We would not recommend using this vendor. read more

I broke my iPhone screen last night and asked CellSpot to fix it first thing this morning. It was done in 20 minutes, of course I was the first customer of the day. I asked to have a cover put on as well. What I like about CellSpot: the prices are competitive, and the service is very good. I don't think everyone's experience is exactly the same because the demand changes through the day. However, the owner/manager really cares about doing a good job. He listens and makes his best effort to take care of you with whatever his load is that day. There is even a little snack bar for those waiting, which I think is very thoughtful. Lastly, it was the negative comments on Yelp that led me to this shop. I was impressed by the way that management reached out to those who were unhappy about something whether the customer's complaint was fair or not. He tries to rectify problems and serve well. I was very impressed with the way problems are handled. People are heard and cared for. That really matters to me, I know things will not always be perfect. I have nothing negative to say. They do what they say they are going to do, and they are honest, kind and have a great customer service culture! I will go there again and send all my friends there. read more

Saeed did a great job and even helped me make sure that my phone worked before I paid the fee. I had been worried that maybe the camera wouldn't work after my last fall. I'm giving them 3 stars because they did honor there warranty and fix my screen as promised so that's a plus , BUT After they initially fixed my phone and i left home the the screen started to act funny and hang up on people and dialed and deleted messages on its own , I called them and they said they would fix it no problem , I brought it back and they said they did not have the part to fix it .... They advised to come back again later and it would be fixed once they got parts in , so I came back later and it was fixed , but when I asked for my case and it was a decent case not a cheesy one... Dropped my phone on a granite rock while hiking... Totally shattered the screen of my 6+ they fixed my phone $135.60 out the door. I left my phone there for several hours, I think it was done within like 45 min but I was in no rush... Screen is like new you can't tell it was replaced they did a great job and were super friendly! Highly recommended!! Update.... My phones screen completely died and went black about 4 weeks after my phone was fixed. I was so upset because I was completely out of touch I called them they told me to bring the phone back in and would take a look. They replaced the screen again and so far so good. So I threw my phone one night when I was mad and shattered the screen. It's a Samsung Exhibit III. I found CellSpot on yelp while searching for a place nearby. Wen there after work on Monday around 6:30. They stated that they'd order the part in the morning and it would take around 3 hours to fix. I let them know that I work all day so that's fine I would pick up Tuesday around the same time. Went in on Tuesday and the screen was perfect as promised. My Samsung S3 screen cracked and needed to be replaced. I did a Google search with the hope to figure how to replace it; luckily, I spotted Cellspot. I gave them a jingle to make sure they can fix my phone and told me it'll be $89.00(plus tax). Upon arrival, I was greeted by a two friendly faces. I ended up working with Ali who is kind and professional. He told me there's a two hour wait to have the screen repair. With no agenda, I sat inside the waiting area. The waiting area is comfortable. I like their large "graveyard" glass displaying all of the cracked/broken cellphones. They offer complimentary chips and bottled water; just enough to make the experience more enjoyable. A small flat screen to keep their customers entertained. I watched a few episodes of funny clips, and there were quite amusing. I'd highly recommend Cellspot to anyone in Orange County who needs to have the phones, iPads, and other devices repair and/or replace. I believe they also buy your old cellphones and devices too.
