The one star is for the apology we got from Triska. Otherwise it would be no stars thanks to server Serena. We arrived and seated ourselves. Our server from the get-go had an attitude. We each ordered a $3 mimosa (as per the menu) and then ordered brunch items. We were told rather rudely that they were out of biscuits and gravy and also apple juice after we tried to order. It would have been smart to let us know ahead of ordering what they were out of. After waiting about 40 minutes for our food we were given nearly inedible items. My french toast was basically eggy, cold, and had no other flavors. O'Brien potatoes were the same I could have bought from the frozen aisle in walmart. my friends omelette had no flavor and as she had ordered the $14 omelette with pastry bar she got her plate and headed over. The pastry table was a joke. One small round table with a bowl of muffins and some strange sweet bread that looked unappealing. She decided not to get any of them. After eating maybe 1/3 of my whole meal we asked for our checks. The server rather rudely stomped down the stairs to get them. When she brought back the checks 3/4 were wrong. She had charged me for apple juice (even though they ran out and I never drank any) and charged us $6 for our mimosas after exclaiming "that must be something new! They are $6" after pointing out on the menu the price was $3 she finally stomped back to the register and redid our checks. She brought them to the table and disappeared for about 30 minutes. Finally another employee, Triska, came to ask about our problem with the checks and we filled her in. She apologized and said we would be getting the price shown and not charged full price. We let her know of Serena's poor customer service and she replied that she was aware of her bad attitude. She took our checks for us because Serena obviously was not coming back and we paid and left. Never to return again. There aren't many choices in great falls but please don't settle for a rude waitress who obviously picked the wrong job to apply for. No one should have to be treated like garbage by a server. read more

I came to visit from Ohio. The bartender was much more interested in the waitresses than me. After sitting there for 15-20 minutes, I was finally addresssed by the bartender who told me I had "too many beers ". I'd had 3 since around 6 so I was shocked to find out he was serious. One of my favorite places in town. A very unique menu for the area and they have a lot of local brews on tap and actually know how to pour a Guinness. I had a Bison burger with pastrami and would highly recommend that l, but the fish and chips surprisingly looked great as well. Only downfall is the service is slow and typically they are understaffed. read more

I never take the time to write a review but think our expierence might encourage customers to try a restaurant that wants your business. I ordered corn beef and cabbage, which was so salty and tough I hardly ate any. When our waitress asked how I liked me meal, I said it's not very good. She quietly laughed and went to the next table. My husband had the $30 ribeye which tasted like a Sysco steak and not a local ranch... not note worthy at all. This has been our 2nd experience in the last year that was completely disappointing. The atmosphere was very cool and they had live Celtic music playing! The food was just OK, I had the Reuben and the corned beef was tough and not much of it. Was in town with nine colleagues and showed up unannounced for dinner. The staff pulled tables together in moments and provided some of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. The food was outstanding and our waiter split our check without our even asking, nor did they add on a tip for a party of six or more. Atmosphere was nice. Clean. But food was very subpar. We are from out of town and found this from yelp and the food pictures. We experienced nothing close to the pictures. The Ruben is terrible. Thin dry slices. The corn beef and cabbage was beyond dry. I had to cut it with a knife. The cabbage was hardly steamed steamed and raw. Very soupy. I am not a huge fan of Irish food (I mean, really, black pudding is a horror show in my book), but the staff-OMG-the staff. Theresa and Colton were amazing and took every request and order promptly and they were so friendly and understanding that I felt like they became part of our family (we were there for a funeral sadly). The breakfast was EXCELLENT, I can honestly say the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had in a restaurant, and the bacon was perfect! Food is not bad I think main disappointment is the only had a couple waitresses which made the wait a lot longer then it should have been. Unfortunately, my first visit I was left with a bad taste in my mouth both from the food, and the environment. Even for a Friday night, the live music level was uncomfortably loud. The food left a lot to be desired. A simple Caesar salad was mediocre at best and deterred me from ordering anything further. The best part about the restaurant is alcohol; the selection and mixed drinks are at least on par. I certainly won't be returning any time soon. read more

I visited Thursday and Friday this past week, and enjoyed both visits. The service was good. The menu is quite a range of UK and American food- there are plenty of familiar and unfamiliar choices. I picked two items I had me we had before, and enjoyed them both (especially the shepherds pie). I thought perhaps the portion sizes could be a little bigger, but that could just be the overweight American in me talking. Still, I bet if they offered larger portion options on some items (again, like the shepherds pie) it might go over well :) The beer menu is great (that's before you even get to their mixed beer drinks and cocktails), and beer on 'thirsty Thursday' was cheap!. Last but equally enjoyable was the ambiance. The aesthetic is fun and rustic. There are several TVs with sports on, but they're unobtrusive. and they had excellent live acoustic music playing both days I was there. read more

What a great place, even with four kids and two adults! The live music was super fun and played a wide variety, bummed I didn't catch the band's name but it was Saturday 7/7. Service was slow, but again it was Saturday night at 7pm! Everyone loved their food and the potato chip nachos were completely the bomb!!! I am updating my review after visiting the Celtic last week. We ordered our food and though there were three occupied tables it took 40 minutes to receive our meal for breakfast. Once our meal arrived, which was an order of scotch eggs and biscuits and gravy, the presentation was awful and the food was lukewarm to cold in temperature. We asked them to fix it and they ended up microwaving the food. The only rewarding component of our visit was the service. The servers were very nice and hospitable. read more

I would have given this place 5 stars but the cabbage was under cooked. This place has a great menu. Awesome service. A live band. Perfect drinks. I loved the bangers and mustard mashers. Very good drinks and atmosphere! The food is great, everything in the menu looked delicious. I had a strawberry shortcake martini which was amazing! And the corned beef and cabbage which was also delicious. We were with a group of people for a friends birthday and enjoyed our whole night. The only thing I'll say is that the food took a good hour and a half to get to us but I noticed only one server on the whole floor.. on a Saturday night. That is the managers fault. Ordered room service at the Hotel Arvon. The service was fast and very nice. Food was excellent.

This is a great spot that is being ruined by horrible management. We were on a 2-week trip and spent a night at the attached hotel, which has a guest laundry room. We put our laundry in the wash and then went up to the restaurant. The Jameson rep was there, she was super charming and gave us free samples of the featured cocktails. After our samples we went to sit on the patio and she went to find a hostess to tell her we were there. About 10 minutes later a very stressed out hostess and very disorganized manager came out to bring us menus. Eric asked about beer, and the manager told him it was in the drink menu. The only thing in the drink menu was wine, so Eric asked the manager to show him. The manager looked and then told us that a page was missing from the drink menu and brought another drink menu. The hostess took our drink orders and then disappeared. The one menu they gave us to share had only breakfast and dinner entrees listed. No salads, no appetizers, no sandwiches. I thought this was odd, but never got a chance to ask about it. Half an hour later I went downstairs to take our laundry out of the wash and put it in the dryer. When I came back our drinks had finally arrived. Eric had ordered my dinner for me. As we waited for our food I noticed that there were now several other tables on the patio with people who had arrived after us, and they had drinks and appetizers. (How did they get appetizers? There aren't any on the menu?) There was only one very stressed out looking waitress waiting on all the tables. When our laundry was dry (It took 45 min because this was not a fancy fast dryer) I got it out of the dryer, took it up to our room and folded it. I got back to the table just before our food arrived. Shortly after our food arrived the table next to us were served burgers. I asked the waitress how they got burgers, which aren't even on the menu. She picked up the menu, that was still on our table because she had failed to take it after taking our order, an then she told us that it was missing 2 pages. She apologized, but by then there was nothing she could do. My grilled salmon dinner was amazingly good. The chef who designed the recipes tried out some new flavor combinations that were delightful. Eric said his food was also very good. My complaints are: 1. They were terribly understaffed, and the manager clearly did not know what he was doing. 2. No menu should be missing pages. Ever. 3. It should not take half an hour for the waitress to bring a drink. 4. Forty-five minute kitchen times are completely unreasonable. 5. It was trivia night, they knew they were going to be busy, they should have scheduled enough staff to handle the expected crowd. read more

There were four of us and we had the Corned Beef and Cabbage, the Shepherds Pie, the Irish Stew, a hamburger, fish tacos, and Guinness stew. Lousy service. Decent food! Went to lunch with a group of only 4, walked in waited over 15 minutes before we were offered drinks. Took about 10 minutes for drinks to arrive, another 10 for anyone to take our order. 30 minutes later our food arrived. We never got a refill on drinks. One of our party had to leave without her meal, we had to bring it back to her to eat at her desk. We had to SCARF down our lunch because we are on a "lunch hour" and not a "lunch 2-hour." We paid and ran back to the office. We are lucky to work right down the street. I called and spoke to the G.M. He apologized and offered to bring us a menu to order in advance the next day and an order of nachos. He never showed! Me, I will NEVER go back. If a G.M. can't keep his word, why should I spend my hard earned money there? read more

Great place to go for drinks and atmosphere. Been here many times and enjoyed it thoroughly. Just had first bad experience tonite. Friday nite, busy and 1st day waitress...not good. No exaggeration, two hours for food. Celtic fries were great and fish and chips were decent. But Captains (fried) Catch was burned into nuggets. I don't complain or return food ever, I wait to see if staff catches anything or never go back. Training Waiter says "I know we took two hours to get food out so it WILL get taken care of." My husband loves Irish pubs and this one did not disappoint. We walked in on Sunday and there was live Irish music, definitely not expected! The decor was great and the food didn't disappoint. Two words: FRIED PICKLES. If you're into that sort of thing, I suggest you come here. We've been here a number of times. Sometimes the wait can be slow, but the food is well worth the wait. There is an extensive beer list, decent wine list, and hard liquor. They also offer live music multiple times a week. I don't recommend coming here during those times, as it is very loud, nearly deafening. Otherwise the atmosphere is comfortable, food is good and filling. read more

My wife and I have eaten at the Celtic Cowboy on and off since it's opening. The last time we went, about a year ago, it was mediocre. Tonight we had dinner there and it was outright bad. The menu has been trimmed, eliminating some of the cooler dishes. The atmosphere is different, not better. The food was not nearly as good. My wife's meal was soggy, including the bread (which was soaked in the water that filled her plate). I was unable to order what I wanted because they were out of an important ingredient (which affected half the menu). We will not be going back, which is sad, because we really have liked the place in the past and have stayed at the attached restaurant on many occasions. read more
