Hey I normally dont do this but I saw the yelp reviews about Centanni and some pictures and and thought this looks good to try. My wife and I had the Rigatoni and the Pappardelle we both agreed it was horrible! The food is lackluster and taste like it came out of a can. The worse thing about that night there was a tall slim man that said he was the manager to the table behind us when they said something about the food, started at my wife and I for the rest of the night super uncomfortable. the servicer was very nice, she might of been the best think out of that places. I could not imagine to find nice Italian restaurant here, but apparently that hood is up and booming. Place is big enough even for small parties; they also have nice outdoor section. Food selection is good for any taste: antipasti, pasta, main dishes variety. And their tiramisu is really good. Place is a just little noisy. read more

This place is a great addition to the neighborhood. I've been here twice and everything Ive had is great. I really suggest the pasta with vodka sauce and proscuitto. It was great! The sauce was delicious and much lighter than most vodka sauces which is great when you're eating pasta in the Summer months. AWESOME FOOD & WONDERFUL PLACE TO HOST A PARTY!!!! My wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and we wanted to host a brunch for our friends. Chris Irish of Cent'Anni was responsive, flexible and totally awesome. We sampled several of Cent'Anni's pasta dishes and other items beforehand. And to be honest, we had difficulty choosing between them - they were all so good! Chris also provided a kids menu, which was extremely helpful. We hosted our brunch in the outside back patio/garden and the setting was private and perfect for our group. Service and food were awesome. Chris allowed us to come early (before the restaurant officially opened), was fair a reasonable on price (other restaurants nearby were gouging us), and always had a great attitude. 5-STARS! For the most part, this place is delicious. I've had brunch here, ordering one of the benedicts and it was great. Dinner is good too - avocado crostini, mashed potatoes, penne vodka is delicious, pomodoro sauce is so good.. but I have an issue with the sourdough bread provided with all of the pasta dishes. I'm not into that sour taste with tomato sauce, which is acidic. I've also found some of the flavors/sauces to be inconsistent. The funghi sauce has been excellent at times, but other times I've received pappardelle with sprinklings of mushroom and no flavor. Overall, their classic dishes are really, really good. Showed up for a reservation and ended up waiting close to an hour standing outside in the cold because the bar was full. Not necessarily the restaurant's fault for the party at the table we had reserved was just sticking around far too long but a gentle nudge to them with a "no rush or anything but we have a party that has reserved this table (an hour ago) . I ordered online and the food did come on time despite the downpour of rain and was still really warm (hence the two stars) but the food was a total disappointment. I had the rigatoni in meat sauce and sorry to say it was probably the worst rigatoni I've ever had. Pasta was cooked well ...... BUT the sauce which basically makes the dish was lacking tremendously . Their "sauce" was basically tomato sauce with slices of unseasoned sausage and meatballs. It also tasted like the meat was microwaved and was completely tasteless - so an overpriced chef boyardee dish. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I placed an order for delivery via the Caviar app and it was literally the most disgusting order of food I have ever received. The garlic bread I ordered smelled old and nasty a closer look revealed mold on the edges. The pasta was over cooked and mushy a newborn could eat it with just gums. The chicken and the meatballs tasted as though they were made at minimum 5 days ago and they didn't even have the decency to even microwave the food as it was as cold as something straight out of the freezer. I have never been so grossed out and disgusted by a plate of food. The people who work here should be completely ashamed that they are serving this to actual human beings. This is one of our all time favorite places in NYC. We've been coming here for 3 years and it has been consistently delicious, friendly and fun. Their happy hour is fantastic and if you stay for a full dinner its easily better than something you'd pay more than double for in manhattan. Love the bar tenders and staff. A true gem. Thanks guys!! I've only gotten delivery from Cent' Anni so far but I was digging it... until recently. The problem with any Italian delivery is pasta usually gets soggy and cold fast - that's not entirely their fault. But the general attitude of the place suggests their delivery could also be a lot better. The pettiness reached a fever pitch to charge for every single extra ingredient. I would give a zero if I could. We live a 10 minute walk from this restaurant, but we are apparently outside of their delivery area, so we had to use a third party delivery service. The delivery service never picked up the food and the restaurant never called us. The food sat there for over 30 minutes and no contact from them. By the time we figured out that it wasn't coming, almost all the other restaurants were closed. Don't order from them unless you live in the same building as the restaurant. read more

I came here for brunch yesterday. I live in the area and have been many times over the years. Brunch, to be blunt, was a tremendous dissatisfaction. I ordered the French toast, which sat ignored cooling in the window for several minutes before being brought over to me, and the bacon, which arrived burnt to a nearly unrecognizable crisp and swimming in a sea of oil. Here I sat for several more minutes before a member of waitstaff checked on me, and I was able to send said bacon back. There was no follow up from our waitress after this. Heard good things about this place in our neighborhood and finally went to check it out. Since this place's specialty is fresh pasta, i ordered a pappardelle with "grandma's ragu" after I found out it was made with meatballs and sausage. My wife ordered the pork chop. For appetizers we had the steamed mussels and caesar kale salad. The steamed mussels were OK - broth was a little bland but mussels themselves were tender. The kale caesar was very good - their dressing is perfect. The big problem came with the entrees. My wife's pork chop was dry and over-cooked and her julienne vegetables were flabby and watery. To be honest, the pasta was OK. The pasta itself was pretty good and the ragu was fine, but nothing to write home about. But I would think that if your pasta is supposed to be the star item of the restaurant, then it should be better than a slightly above average experience. Service was ok and staff was friendly. Won't be going back though. There are places with similar prices and better prices in the neighborhood. read more

I prefer ordering from here than coming over - I felt a little rushed out of there the one time I came to eat by myself (with the understanding that sometimes, places have an off day!). However, they do a gnocchi with butter and sage sauce I'm truly partial to. They could use some more food choices - however, you absolutely come for the choose your own pasta selections. Came here with some co-workers last week the food was not worth the price, and the service was very lackluster. When it came to the management dealing with our issues, they did a extremely poor job and completely mishandled the situation. This time, I was given the wrong total when calling in my order and they didn't honor it and can prove it. When I mentioned it, the hostess rudely told me to order online from now on. May be it was just bad luck but everything we ordered tonight was awful: black ink linguine was over cook. The pasta was mushy. Rigatoni was over cook. The red sauce on both dishes tasted like it was from a jar and the meatballs tasted like it was store bought. This Italian restaurant in Crown Hights had a very good outside space, so, I will visit there again in summer months. Service there was very good. I love seafoods. So, for my first main dish, here, I had the sqid ink pasta. It was one of the best pasta I had in Brooklyn. The gelati was also very good. My friend had the spinach gnocchi, whch he said very good. Pasta was not great. They forgot the pecorino on my lemon/pecorino pasta. Ingredients seemed cheap. Fried calamari wasn't great either. Hard to get waiters attention. Cool atmosphere, but overall, not the tastiest Italian food. They also forgot the vegetables on my boyfriends pasta order. HORRIBLE service. horrible. i waited an hour and a half for my food (because seamless had tracked it and said it went out already when i checked) and then called when it was 45 mins from the time it supposedly went out to inquire. the hostess told me it was out and would be there soon. so i waited 15 more minutes. nothin. so i called again, hostess said she would call me right back after checking with the manager. i called them back after ten minutes. after telling me that my food was mistakenly never made, she let me speak with the manager, who just blamed it on seamless, gave me a defensive attitude, and told me she can "just go ahead and cancel this order" for me, as if that's a favor. at this point it's after ten pm, i ordered my food over two hours ago, and when i say, but can i have my dinner, i'm starving, she says to me that she could put the order in but she can't comp it (maybe she could give me a discount, she said) and that it would take ANOTHER 60 MINUTES for the food to arrive. when i got upset and told her this was terrible service and i couldn't believe how bad it was, she put the phone down in the middle of my talking bc she didn't feel like listening to me. i could tell bc when i finished my sentence and said hello? are you there? she wasn't and i waited while i listened to background restaurant noise, heard her pick up the phone off the counter and then when i said, "what did you just do?" she said "i''m just listening. i've been here the whole time." it's like a high school is running this place. I've been there in person before and the waitstaff was so horrible that we decided to keep our interaction with them limited to delivery. now that's out too. read more

This is my new neighborhood go-to for pasta. We got two plates of pasta, a Prosecco and a beer and the bill came out to $50 - so not cheap but not crazy. They also have mix-and-match sauce/pasta combos which I love. We got the pappardelle with grandma's ragu (pomodoro with sausage and meatballs) and spinach gnocchi (you can also get potato or butternut squash gnocchi) with limone sauce. Both dishes were solid and filling. Only complaint is that the back dining room felt a bit crammed and noisey. We opted to sit at the bar which was more spacious and an overall nicer experience.
