This place was just okay. Nothing outstanding. The food was very average. We went for a lunch buffet on tuesday. They had two different kinds of pizzas (very greasy), two kind of pasta dish (very bland), fried chicken, BBQ ribs, roast pork & beef, fish & chips, some asian dishes, sandwiches and chips again, mexican dishes (tacos & fajitas) , a big salad bar and dessert bar. My favorite of all was just chips. Chips are thick-cut home made. Very crispy and I wanted to grab a handfull to take home. The selection of food is not big. I think Golden Corral has more selections with better food quality with lower price. The lunch buffet at Centennial is $12.99. It is not worth it. The customer service was good. Our server was often checking on us to fill our drinks and remove used plates. Since this was the only place we have eaten at in Blackhawk, so maybe it is the best in town, but I was not impressed at all. read more

This used to be the best buffet in Blackhawk/Central City. Went Saturday for dinner. Very few fresh options. The food tasted like it was leftover from lunch, and you had to pay extra for crab legs if you wanted them. Long line due to inefficient staff cashiering and seating. All of the food stations were very dirty with spilled food that had not been cleaned up. Left hungry. This buffet went from best to worst in the area. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I love Centennial Buffet. My friends and I alway go up for crab, salad, pasta, pretty much everything. The salad bar has a nice variety of veggies and pre-made salads. The pasta has always been good. The fried chicken is tasty, the crab legs delightful, and the dessert area is awesome. There is truly something for everyone there. read more

My family has been coming here for over 10 years, it has great food and great crab legs, but they just changed the age limit, and since I'm 16 I now cannot go there until I turn 21. It was one of my favorite places to eat and now I can't go there. They need to change the age limit back. read more

Here's the scene: It's my girlfriend's 29th birthday, and all she wants is a crab leg buffet. While this concept may seem like a pipedream in landlocked Colorado, there is a mecca for this type of gluttony just up the canyon in BlackHawk. We were not content to simply raid the buffet, making the ownership of the hotel forever regretful of their business model, we had to prepare. We went out during the day, skipping every meal and smoking copious amounts of marijuana so as to maximize our hunger-rage. We got to the casino, deliriously low on calories and out for blood. Stop to grab some mixed drinks while we sort out the maze of slot machines - for only $2 a piece. As we sat in the overly decadent bar area in the center of the casino, a salmon colored beacon of salvation appeared to us - the crab leg buffet was just to the west of our current position. We had done our homework, and knew it opened at four p.m., and wanted to get ahead of the rush of calorie starved habitual gamblers. This did not work out well as the line was already 30 deep by the time we got in it. At first this was a huge blow to morale, but our drinks were still full and things were not getting desperate yet. The line moved remarkably quickly; maybe 10 minutes on the outside before we were being efficiently shuffled to our table. My one complaint is that the table was too small to reasonably fit multiple plates, and the place doesn't offer cafeteria style trays one comes to expect when embarking on a culinary journey such as this. Once seated, my girlfriend got in line to get the crab legs. A man came and handed her a MASSIVE plate of crab legs(at least 4 or 5 crabs in total), and she returned to our table with a renewed sense of her mission. I, on the other hand, decided to try my hand at some of the other offerings, of which there are many. Their asian, Italian, and American style foods are absolutely above par for a buffet setting. The wait and inefficiency of utilizing tables automatically takes this down 1.5 stars. This includes the service as well. We waited for over an hour and saw 7 unused tables in the area by the line at all times. Tables were left unclean that could have easily been bussed and then used for another party. The decrease in another 0.5 stars is the decrease in food quality. I understand it was busy due to the holiday but the empty tables for over an hour is unacceptable. read more

So my boyfriend and I decide to try out this buffet, and we read the reviews and thought it would be good. Once we got there they told us that the crab legs were only giving on Fridays, well we went in anyway and it was about 35 dollars for both. We grab food a variety and we both only ate the mash potatoes because that was the only good thing besides the friendly waitress everything else did not have flavor. I do not recommend this place. I was not going to complain but once the waitress saw all the food left on the plates she could not help to ask if we were okay, and I couldn't help to say that we couldn't eat anything she grab the manager. The manager insisted she was going to bring a chef to let him know what is wrong w the food, personally I think being the manager she should of handle this better but she just had a huge smile on her face and did not seem concern or appeared to have empathy anyway at the end she said she was going to only refund one meal, but I did let the manager know that at-least the mash potatoes were good not worth 17 dollars for a serving of mash potato, also the best buffet by far is legends of Asia I love that place. read more

It's actually quite overpriced for what you get. Some of their stuff is good to decent and they have a large selection to choose from so you can find a plate of food that's fair. The price is extremely high considering they take your money anyway they can. read more

Very, VERY good breakfast. Excellent Bacon, delicious biscuits and gravy, and fantastic ham - pretty good trip tip. Lots and lots of assortment; the only thing missing was fruit. They didn't have much fresh fruit, and it was a little bit pricey ($17.99) for breakfast. Still, worth it - and I'd go back in a heartbeat. Umm....Well....It's not the worst buffet I've been to, but it's not the best either. I typically gauge how good a place is by how many patrons are in the establishment. I've never seen it crowded here but decided to give it a try for the 1st time this week. The salad bar had adequate selections but they looked like they had been out for some time so I steered clear of most. The BC dressing was....it's hard to describe....not very flavorful. The asian selections were decent and the pizza was good. The Prime Rib was good but gristley and they don't give you much. I didn't see any crab legs, only peel and eat shrimp which were okay. The dessert bar was very good with a nice selection. Not sure I will be back. I prefer the Isle, Monarch & Mardi Gras buffets. read more

Service was excellent. Our waitress Magdelena (sp) removed finished plates often. Even the other waitresses would stop by our table. The food was well above average. I highly recommend. Depressing. We first came here about 4 years ago and it was such a fantastic experience with really great food and a wide variety. Since then, we moved so when we excitedly decided to return this week, it was an hour and a half out of our way. That's how good the memories were. I wish we'd stuck with the memories. Firstly, half the choices were gone. Simple things like eggs, bacon,and sausage? Nowhere to be seen. The fantastic bread choices? Nope. The cheeses? Nope. What was there aspired to be average and couldn't even achieve that. It takes real skill to screw up noodles and make them like rubber. Mashed potatoes, gravy and tri-tip were okay, but that was about it. everything else was awful. Flavorless, dry, and cheap. The staff were SUPER nice, but the food is why we came and we won't be coming back. I can only assume Ameristar are experiencing financial difficulties and are cutting corners. Blackhawk CO Ameristar Centennial Buffet is wonderful! We went on three nights (Fridays & Saturdays). The snow crab was fresh, hot, perfectly cooked, and easy to shell. Rich creamy melted butter that was well blended, not oily. The prime rib was exquisite & tender enough to cut with a fork or butter knife & bursting with flavor. The shrimp (both fried and boiled) were also perfectly cooked - not rubbery at all. Sides were seasoned just right & not at all mushy like they often get at buffets. And can't rave enough about the desserts! Milk chocolate or white chocolate mouse pyramids on top of light crispy wafer bases, crème brûlée with delicate crispy caramelized top, warm blackberry or peach cobblers, moist & delicious carrot cake, & too many more to mention. All the employees were happy, smiling & laughing. Our waitress, Melanie was excellent! She was very attentive but didn't hover, didn't ever let our drinks get more than half empty, kept clean napkins on the table, made sure we had everything our hearts desired, and was very charming. We'll definitely ask to sit in her section next time. There was such a huge selection, we couldn't even attempt to try everything! I've eaten at restaurants from Alaska to Florida, and San Francisco to New York. This is one of the best buffets I've ever had. We've decided to make this a regular trip! read more
