I believe they also have BBQ Friday's during the summer where they have hot dogs with all the fix-ins. They make the "not so pleasant" procedures tolerable, almost pleasant. This place is nothing but a big scam forcing people to buy optional services like those Cerec crown upgrades and making them seem medically necessary! I want to encourage all patients to know that you should ethically be getting a clear pre-treatment estimate to review with all your available treatment options. Your insurance-covered options vs optional upgrades should be clearly lined out and explained. If it feels overwhelming or confusing it is meant to be that way to confuse you on purpose. Request the billing codes for every procedure and call your insurance or download your insurance code booklet to see what your copay should be for each code before you buy anything. You can NOT trust this office to be clear or honest with you about your options! This office will lie to you!!!. The Cerec crown is not better in material that the PFM, it is mostly an upgrade for ease and convenience for the Dr so they only have to offer you one appt, avoid lab fees and can pay for their dumb in house Cerec milling machine. PFM crowns have been around and used for decades! and should be covered by most insurances. Get them, theyve been used for decades! If the dentist or clinic is forcing you to buy upgrades you dont want under pressure that is unethical balance billing and a violation not only of their code of ethics but their insurance contract! You can file a complaint or grievance with both your insurance company (who would love to threaten them with losing their contract) or their dental board (https://www.dbc.ca.gov/). Sadly, this place is just another example of how corrupt business models have taken over the Dental industry and turned essential healthcare into an unethical used car lot scam taking advantage of people who are desperate for health care like me. The entire dental industry needs a serious reckoning and massive lawsuit to stop all the fraud and ethical issues going on as a whole. I dont know how they get away with what they do because they are violating their own code of ethics and in-network HMO insurance contract daily. La Mesa Modern Dental is using products like those annoying Cerec crowns and bacterial laser treatments etc as a way to balance bill and off set unneeded costs and upgrades to patients without proper informed consent (if any at all!) among other violations. They lie to patients telling them they need treatments (called 'over treatment') they dont need draining their bank account thinking its essential care. They pressured me multiple times to get one of the Cerec crowns. I got two of them, and refused the third noticing the shady trend. I started wondering why all my teeth are suddenly having problems like "cracks and cavities," but when I went to another office for a second opinion no crack or cavity was found on my tooth!!, just a need to replace a filling. Dr Lemez was one of the worst high pressure sales Drs I have seen in a while. She told me I needed a crown when I only needed a filling. When I tried to inquire about getting a insurance-covered crown she deceptively told me that "insurance hasn't caught up to the materials of what's needed." I wasn't even offered what my insurance covers, instead I was given the impression that my insurance doesn't cover my medically necessary needs so I was then expected to offset and cover the costs on my own or not receive care! The insurance companies would love to know Dr Lemez is doing this and yank her/their contract! Stephanie the billing lady at this office just does the Drs bidding and is avoidant, and wont explain the bills clearly. Id stay away from this office especially for higher level services like anything having to do with periodontal care or crowns!! These are all scams!! Don't be afraid to file a complaint with your insurance company and let them know about the unethical practices and high pressure sales being used at this office! They need accountability.

First off, I walked in and the guy on the phone just shushed me and told me he was busy and i had to go sit and wait. Pretty disrespectful, and I didn't appreciate any part of him being at all. I sat down as my roommate came alongside with me. No words were ever spoken, and someone came in and the guy immediately got off the phone and spoke with the new patient walking in. About 15 minutes goes by and the assistant come out and calls me name, even though I didn't think I was checked in yet, apparently I was. She decided to do some x rays, that took about 15 minutes long, she had no idea how to work the computer and the machine and made me stand there for a long time. I finally get to my room and the assistant tells me to wait here for the doctor, I waited for about 30 minutes. Then came the doctor, she looked at my mouth and then proceeded with all good info and that I was in need of a surgery or removal. I asked her what the price would be and the finances. The doctor proceeds to tell me that the guy in the front will come to let me know, again, another 30 minutes goes by of waiting. Overall, I spent atleast an hour and a half in that dentist waiting and waiting. Disliked this place, and would never come back. Everyone there seemed like they had no experience.
