Honest, trustworthy, professional. Several years ago I worked for a tour company that took all of their vans to Central Car Care to get serviced, so when I saw a groupon for an oil change here I decided to take advantage. I came away with a good experience and a well running car. A few months later I had my brakes changed at a Just Brakes who told me my brakes were going to fail and that I needed to do an extra $350 worth of repair to be safe. I called Central Car Care, explained the situation, and told them I was nervous about the safety of my car but thought I was getting scammed. They told me to bring my car down and they inspected it for free. They told me my car was safe and didn't need the work that was suggested. I offered to pay for their time, but they told me to just bring in my car when it needed repairs and my continued business would be thanks enough. I don't think I've ever been to a mechanic before that said I didn't need suggested work done. Thank you so much. read more

I gave this place so many chances at just good service. Too many chances. The owner would try to make the screw ups right. I want to believe in people but enough was enough. This shop at least from several experiences seem to be incompetent. Last visit they had my truck for 3 weeks, little communication as to what was happening or what they were finding, When I finally got my truck back, the radio didnt work. They broke it. Unbelievable. I turned around after driving away and their "master mechanic" said he would need at least a few hours to figure it out. I went back to the place that installed it and thank God they know their stuff. CCC took out the fuse and didnt put it back. Again unbelievable. No quality control. Which has happened before. Enough is enough. I will never come back again. Even if the owner eventually tried to make it right there is no price on hours of frustration, and messing around with incompetent management, mechanics and quality. Sad. I wanted to believe in them but it is what it is. read more

I was travelling up from El Paso to BC the other day and stopped off in Phoenix as the warning engine light had come on in my truck. I saw the same light on the side of the road advertising Central Car Care and pulled in and asked them to check it for me. Everyone was extremely helpful, ran my truck on the computer and determined the Cat converter had broken, recognized that this would be covered under the warranty and suggested I take the truck into Honda. The're was no charge for checking this for me and sure enough I went to the Honda dealer who put a new Cat on also for no charge. I was very impressed with the honesty of the guys at Central Car Care. They could have easily done the job and charged me and I would have been none the wiser only a couple of grand lighter! I had a funny car noise on a Saturday, going on a road trip on Sunday. Central Car Care (Mike) diagnosed it quickly (power steering hose leak) and repaired it within a couple of hours, so I could make my trip with no worries. Cost was $500, but that's way cheaper than if I had gotten on the road and had the steering seize up, needed a tow and a major repair. Plus he identified a couple more issues to have my regular mechanic check out later. read more

Wow. What an incredible place. Came in to get my oil changed along with a couple other jobs before I headed home for the summer and stumbled upon this place. From the second I reached the front desk, my experience was amazing. Rex Dunn met me at the counter with a giant smile and was extremely helpful. He even walked me through all the mechanics to what they were doing to my car. He took the time to talk to me and was extremely kind. We found this place via grpupon when we needed an oil change. We called and made an appointment for 12 and even got there a half hour early. While waiting for the car to be finished we ran a few errands and returned at 2pm thinking it has to be done but nope still up on the lift. The gentleman tells us it wont be much longer and to take a seat so we do and the car isnt done until 3pm! I really have no idea how an oil change can take this long or why they clearly overbooked their day. I will never return here. read more

I understand that one man's experience is not another's but it's good to be informed. If I could give this shop a zero or negative star they would easily have one. Within the last 30 days I've been to this shop 3 times for the same issue - cylinder misfires. What should be a quick and easy fix has become complicated because they refuse to complete the job of a full tune up. Instead of replacing all of the parts linked to what's causing the misfire (spark plugs, coil packs, wires, and coil module) they'll only replace the part that they read from their codes and charge you the full amount of a tune up as if they've really fixed the problem. They are lazy and will not fully inspect and examine the full scope of an issue they'll just base their labor off what a machine says is the issue. They would rather fish you on a hook to keep you coming back and waste your time for simple fixes. Outside of an oil change don't waste your time, energy or money on this shop. Honestly don't even get an oil change from them because they're "one of those" shops that change your oil and give you a full list of other issues that they want to mess up. Why do you think they're giving out $20 oil changes on Groupon? Just to get you in the door and hook you. They have no customers and appear to be losing business and Groupon has been there marketing scheme. They are not family owned, Firestone owns there shop and has been the reason they're still around.. So again clearly they're once family owned company is going down the toilet. -2 stars read more
