Beware if your tile cracks upon installation, it will be on you. Our tiles cracked when they installed the door. Michael gave us the name of someone to redo the tiles so his guys could reinstall the door. I bought new tiles and had them reinstalled $$$ (which we had to pay for). After they reinstalled the door, the tiles cracked again in a few days even worse than the first time around. The person Michael sent out told us he would have to take the whole wall apart to figure out what the problem is, and he was too busy to do the work anytime soon (he said he had no idea how much that could cost). Michael would also charge us a couple hundred dollars to take door off again and reinstall after repair. Have not heard from Michael or the tile guy in months, no follow up. Tiles are still cracked, door makes very loud noise every time we open it to take a shower. One the door seals is also coming off, and has been since the first time door was installed (the installers never stuck it on correctly). Such a disappointment. read more

Words cannot describe how impressed I am by central glass Chicago. After a long grueling whole home remodel I was exhausted when it came to finishing up the final details, and couldn't wait for it to be complete. But I did have a vision in mind, and after all that time spent designing the bathroom alone, I knew I could not give up now and give the job to just anyone. I had several quotes set up that week and none of those companies impressed me. When I told them what I had envisioned they told me that it was not possible, and that I would have to go an alternative route. In hindsight I now see it as a route they felt more comfortable with. So I was just about ready to put my dreams aside and compromise for something I wasn't thrilled about, until Michael came along. All I can say is thank god I waited to meet one more person for a quote before I decided to give in! Michael was a breath of fresh air after dealing with so many not so professional contractors. He saw my vision and knew the shower would look bad any other way! He worked with me in coming up with a perfect solution so my vision would be possible not only aesthetically but also in terms of functionality. So when all these people came back with quotes the next day I was surprised to learn how reasonable Michaels prices were. You see I already knew I wanted to go with Central Glass Chicago even before I got the quotes. The only part I knew my boyfriend might not be so happy about was the time frame in which the shower glass was to be made, delivered, and installed. Central glass Chicago designs and creates all the glass themselves so we were quoted a couple days longer than some others but decided to still move forward with them. Mike installed our glass shower surround in our master bath. I am very happy with the service and quality provided by Central Glass. Mike took the time to show us several options of hardware and discuss how each option would look and function. He installed clamps on the bottom and sides of the glass for a more seamless look. Other contractors that provided quotes would only install tracks on the bottom and sides because it was easier for them to install. Central Glass also provided custom height glass while other quotes we received only provided two available standard heights. He took very detailed measurements for a perfect fit. Installation of the glass was quick and professional. The finished product was exactly what I had in mind, instead of compromising because the installer only worked with standard sized products.
