The furniture is very nice, the bed was very comfortable, the electric fire place kept us warm through the night and we loved the rustic feel of the entire place. Even the bathroom is nicely updated and spacious with a great shower. The lodge sits in a nice neighborhood a little off the beaten path. Town is a quick drive away if you need to stock up on anything, find a restaurant, or stores. There is a small fridge available in the rooms. There is a common area with a hot tub and a grill that can be used but we didn't check out that area so I can't give it any rating with my review. The owners of the lodge also have the MotoFantasy business at this location if you'd like to rent a motorcycle to tour around on. We got a chance to look at some of the bikes, and chat with one of the owners, but didn't have time on our trip to rent a bike. Our only complaint was how loud the noise is from others staying in the lodge. It's not that the neighboring people are intentionally being loud. The lodge itself just has a very hollow sound throughout and isn't set up to soften the noise coming from other rooms. We could clearly hear others talking, phones beeping and ringing, TV, doors opening and closing, others showering, toilets flushing and just general walking and moving around. It made for a loud evening & morning. We left pretty early due to this. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the area. It's a very nice lodge and an awesome place to check out the motorcycles. Just bring some ear plugs for a good nights sleep.

I didn't catch her name but she was very friendly. She asked if we needed anything after doing a quick scan of our room and even went to see if she could find decaf coffee for us. Which speaking of coffee, its a real coffee pot with real coffee! Not just the pods. Some stir sticks would be nice. Our two good sized dogs had plenty of yard to run around (we made sure to clean up after them immediately each time). The room was clean and cute. We did move the furniture around to suite us better. The chair sits in front of the couch due to it being a small room. It still worked perfect for us. We sat on the couch and used the ottoman to play cards and dice while we watched a Halloween movie. The gas fireplace in the corner was a nice touch. It was a super cozy evening! There are two adjoining doors on either side of the room if you had friends or family in other rooms. The refer is a good size for drinks and snacks. The bathroom is big with a big walk in shower. Easily fit 2 of us. It did take me several minutes of messing with all the knobs to figure out the shower. The water pressure was just OK. The temperature knob was very touchy... quickly went from warm to hot. Check in and out was super simple. I sent a text to Gloria and she was quick to respond. I am giving 5 stars, even with the minor issues, because overall it was a great stay and we will be back for sure!

The guy at the desk was friendly enough but the second guy who came out of the back room sounded like he belonged in the TB ward. Coughing and hocking loogies in the 'lobby'. Best part of the check-in was the office dog. Back to the room Before going in we noticed it looked like people were living in some of the rooms. Very run down chairs outside the doors. The key/lock was broken, outside light was hanging and not working. Very dirty. Entering the room and strong off-putting smell burned our noses. Everything was very old, in disrepair. We felt like we could feel the bugs and grime on us. Second room had outlets hanging out of the walls. Quick Look at the bathroom and we knew there would be no way we'd shower or use that outdated, dirty bathroom. Quick call to Hotels.com and we were refunded and saved.

One bed had no pillow cases on the pillows. There were grime marks, stains, grossness all over and it really felt like a place where you'd get a rash. I thought it was hilarious that the toilet paper was folded in a little triangle OMG are you kidding hahahaha I should add that I booked the room on booking.com but did not reserve a room and I got "up charged" at the hotel for another $15 over what booking.com told me. I'm not sure how these hotel booking sites work but it ended up being a shit show for me.

Bachelor, or for visiting downtown Bend. The continental breakfast here is one of the better ones. The only downsides to my visit is that they had me in a basement room, and the shower drain of the room above me must have run right through the wall behind my bed; the gurgling sound went on for at least 25 minutes at one point during the night. Additionally, the room was below groundlevel, making the angle of the window perfect for the parking area lights to flood the bedroom with light. The privacy drapes weren't enough to keep the light out, and the drapes that should have been light blockers were hung in place on the edges of the window, for decoration only, and could not be closed to keep the light out. The staff here is friendly & helpful; I would definitely stay here again.

I totally understand if the room is not yet ready, but a blanket policy to not even check is ridiculous. We arrived at 2:30 so not super early. So at 3:00, the 2 employees are overwhelmed trying to check everyone in at once and the customers are irritated before they even get their room key. We are a member at La Quinta so I know his is not a corporate policy just something the Bend located instituted. The room was adequate and glad we were on the ground level as there are no elevators.

Approximately a week before I booked a room at the Best Western Newberry in La Pine Oregon, I was…read morenotified that my cousin was in ICU in Bend- to say this was shocking would be an understatement. I rushed to Bend to be at her bedside, she was only 51, and sadly she passed three days later. I drove approximately 200 miles home to pick up my husband and son and put together a few things. Also I booked a room with Best Western Newberry because I needed to go back to La Pine for an impromptu funeral for my cousin. Once I checked into the hotel and I had seen the room I was given, I was appalled! I then requested another room, but I was informed there were no available rooms, except for possibly one that wouldn't even be open until Thursday at 2, but I would have to be out by 11, then move again to a another room that would possibly be open on Friday at 2. You can see by the attached photos unsafe exposed ducting, wires, window screen and not mention the dirty moldy stall shower. The air conditioning unit sometimes worked and I did call the front desk to asked for maintenance. I was informed not to adjust the thermostat, there were problems with the unit and it would freeze over. Therefore it was either hot in the room or freezing. I could not even open the window to cool the room off due to window screen being so damaged that insects or whatever could get in and also I was concerned for my family's safety. The Wi-Fi was horrible! Completely unstable, it continuously dropped, I would have to re-login so often that I actually memorize the login and password. The Wi-Fi could not even support my own logged in channels on the TV. I was so fed up. I just used my own data so my son could watch shows and our cell phones could have internet. There were no power sources near the bed whatsoever so charging our phones, etc., was ridiculous. I truly did not feel safe in the room with all the issues, especially the exposed wires. Unfortunately, I felt had no other choice but to stay in the room I was given. I had to be in La Pine. I called the hotel and spoke with the manager after we checked out and got home. The hotel manager stated that the room that I thought I booked was misadvertised on the Best Western Newberry hotel webpage and I was actually booked for ADA room. Shel also stated that I should have expressed more of the issues with the room during my stay and because I did not she could only offer me $100 or $150 gift card towards another stay with best Western Hotels. I respectfully declined. I truly don't understand what difference it would have made for me to express "more of the issues" with the room, also not to mention I would hope that a guest who actually needed a ADA room would not have to accept the accommodations that I was given as their only choice. I would think at the very least some form of courtesy notice from the hotel explaining the condition of the room prior to my stay would have given me a choice to change the room or even upgrade before the hotel was completely booked. I was under complete distress and did not want to cause any other conflict that may have resulted in no place for my family and I to stay for my cousin's funeral. I chose Best Western hotel because I am a Best Western member and for over $700 for 3 nights I could depend on Best Western for decent room during this devastating, heartbreaking tragedy. Unfortunately this was not the case. Please check double check and even reconsider your stay with Best Western Newberry in La Pine Oregon
