My ankle did a complete 180 when I broke it and now it's doing great! He had terrific bed side manner. I've recommended him several times of the years. read more

The person that handles the appointments for the Pain Clinic is the dumbest rudest person going - Do Not Go To This Office - she kept me hanging for a Consult for weeks - and gives me an appointment without having calling if the consult had been approved since we had to jump thru hoops to get it approved by CIGNA - when you try and tell them that you do work and may need to push back appt by 1/2 because Boss scheduled a meeting and you did not receive confirmation from her that Peer to Peer with Insurance company was approved - i had to find that out for myself (its not posted on Cigna site) - doesn't post for 72 hours and was approved on 06/08) - which is why I went to Cigna for a status and she starts speaking down to you like your some kid, or she thinks your stupid - I have over 40 years experience in Health care - Payer and Hospital - I probably wrote the system she is is using - what she fails to realize is that customer service is what separates companies these days and rude, gib mouthed trying to speak over you people are going to be a thing of the past - hope they toss her out on her ass!!! My husband made an appointment about a month ago. Two days before his appointment he received a letter in the mail (Saturday) stating they do not accept his insurance. Letter was mailed on Thursday. Received letter Saturday. Appointment was scheduled for Monday at 10:30. No phone call only letter mailed. My husband called and was told he couldn't be seen. The staff was very short with him. I saw Dr. Crispin Ong for my knee pain. He gave me shots and pain relief. A few months later, my knees are cured. Highly recommended! The front desk is friendly and knows how to bill primary and secondary insurances so no out of pocket costs for the patient. The only thing is, I had to go through CVS Specialty pharmacy to get the shots and my copay was $235 just for the medication. If they could just stock the medication, it would have cost me less. read more

I called to confirm insurance network participation and to find out which doctor specializes in knee replacements. There is only 1 phone number available on the website and that is to schedule an appointment. My initial question was "is there a direct number for one of the offices to discuss insurance and choosing the right doctor"? The knee jerk response from this call center was to deflect ("this is the appointment scheduling line", "do you want to self-pay"). It took 21 questions to get to the crux of the issue. I wanted to give this practice the benefit of the doubt that all the negative reviews were due to patients being in pain and reacting accordingly, but definitely triple check everything before going to this practice. Our insurance tells us they are in-network, but the call center says they're out-of-network. read more

I was in A lot of pain after surgery and requested Pain meds oxy as I used that with my first knee surgery. I was told Dr Baez doesn't like his patients using pain meds have to get approval The pain level kept climbing while I was getting excused finally it was off the charts and a pill that takes 45 minutes to take effect would it it Nurse wasn't coming in I had to yell out I Need An IV drug! Before I burst out into loud uncontrollable gut renching sobs! Then I received a shot when pain level came down I was spoken to about disturbing others and I said we need to discuss pain management so I don't ever go through that again The next morning when Dr Baez came in I brought up what happened and he called me a DRUG ADDICT and JUNKIE. I was so upset and shocked at the way he spoke to me that I started crying And said " I'm crying now not from pain but from the way your speaking to me" he just walked closer and said well your a big girl (pun intended) I guess you know when your in pain and left I never to this day received an apology read more

I went to Dr. Seidman today for my right knee. It's been very painful and after a thorough examination, he determined that I would need an injection.today and 4 consecutive weeks thereafter. Dr. Seiden used the ultrasound machine and injected the medication. Even though it hurt like hell, he talked me through the procedure. He helped me feel comfortable and was as gentle as possible. I would recommend this practice for any orthopedic problems and especially Dr. Seidman as he is polite, informative and answered all my questions with patience and understanding. read more

DR Mathan is a great doctor who did my hand, his surgery coordinator Evelyn is HORRIBLE she booked me in the wrong place (Melville Surgery Center) when it was clearly stated by the Dr that my surgery was complex and he wanted me to be in the hospital after being told TWICE she put me in the hospital I was suppose to be in I arrived at 6am and was scheduled LAST as apparently she is never wrong and punished me for her mistake my husband sat in the waiting room for 9 hours as I watched 6 people in the waiting room go first so I will be searching for a new surgeon even though he was good when I get my other hand operation, even DR said why was I put last well simple EVELYN IS A NASTY person if you need s hand Dr ask him not to use her to coordinate read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I went here for an MRI for an elbow injury (sport related). The Doctor that had reviewed my case and MRI told me there was no way I would get back to competing on the level I was (basically left me feeling hopeless). In addition, I received a bill for this MRI, although it was covered by insurance. I tried contacting the billing department, by "Kelly" never answers the phone, nor does she return calls. After 7 MONTHS, of never receiving a call back, I finally got in touch with an "office manager" that apologized greatly, and saw the mistakes that had been made on my account. However, she could not offer any explanation as to why this was overlooked. I did see another doctor (in Manhasset) for a second opinion, and 7 months later, I'm back competing, with a fully functioning elbow, despite what the 1st doctor in RVC had said. My advice... GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE read more

Dr. Daniel Seidman is less skilled than he sells himself as. I agree with the other reviews: At FIRST he starts off with attentive bedside manners, but then he quickly turns into an arrogant, dismissive, disrespectful, orthopedic surgeon with a God-complex. His rushed, fly-by appointments left me with more questions than answers. As I was trying to understand what he'd do to correct the mistake of a podiatrist who previously messed up my bunionectomy surgeries, Dr. Seidman told me to "stop talking." But because I was in a desperate situation, I made the mistake of trusting Dr. Seidman with my care. After a grueling 3 month recovery, nothing had improved! I went through hell with his many rescheduled appointments, all for nothing. Be sure to do a deeper Google search of his time in NYC at Northwell Health/Lenox Health/Greenwich Village (where I saw him in 2021). read more

The staff upstairs can be a bit disorganized at times but overall it's a great practice. The waits may SEEM long but they never really are. There are just so many doctors on staff all at once that the waiting room can be a bit overwhelming. The doctors are friendly and there's an x-ray on site. I also like that they don't throw you into surgery (unless absolutely necessary) without trying PT first. PT is right downstairs and everyone there is wonderful. Plenty of beds with tens machines. A small gym equipped with enough gear to help you rehab. Lonnie is my usual therapist and he's great. You'll easily be sucked into a conversation with everybody there. There are TVs while you wait and while you workout. They also have wifi (just ask for the PW) so you can surf the web on your phone while you get a massage and whatnot. You could always say you swiped right and found the person of your dreams during physical therapy. read more

This place has the most incompetent billing department that I have ever come across. It's a joke except it's not funny. My son went in a January. I called first to make sure they accepted my insurance. They assured me they did. They then sent me a bill for $156. I called every month for 3 months when I got the bill. Every time I was to,d it was a mistake and the billing manager would call me back to confirm. I never got a call back. Finally when I received a 4th bill, I wrote a letter and never heard back from them. I now got a 5th bill! If this is the way their billing department is run, I would hate to see the rest of the practice. Disaster! read more

Stay away. I had severe knee pain and unfortunately this was only place I could get appointment in March 2020. I was assigned Dr. K. He never examined my knee. Sent me for a spinal MRI and knee xrays. Said knee was fine but spinal issue - scoliosis pressing on a nerve causing knee pain. He said "well at your age you don't want surgery so have spinal injections". I declined pain never went away so once I was able to get an in person appointment with a doctor at HSS in Uniondale I was there. Within 5 minutes doctor diagnosed knee issues. MRI of knee showed stress fracture, etc. no problem with spine. Avoid this place and especially avoid Dr. K. Misdiagnoses caused me a couple of months of unnecessary pain. Thank goodness I did not follow his recommendation to get spinal injections. read more

Dr. Yohan Lee has been an amazing addition to my team working with me since I've been diagnosed with a very large herniated disc at L5-S1. He runs pretty close to schedule. I think I had to wait maybe 5 minutes. Nothing major at all. His bedside manor is great. He's easy to talk to. He listens to me and truly seems to care about my concerns. He explained things to me in a way that was very easy to understand during my consultation. Today, during my epidural, he was great at keeping me calm and talked me through each step of the way. When the procedure was over, I was shocked at how quickly and flawless the entire procedure was. I actually said, "That's it?" Dr. Lee and his team were fantastic! Thank you! Prior to meeting with Dr. Lee, I met with Dr. Koutsoumbelis. I left one orthopedic group on LI to switch to Dr. K who was highly recommended to me by a top PT on Long Island. Dr. K added me to his Friday schedule within an hour of hearing about my case. Since I was a last minute addition to his schedule, I wasn't sure what to expect. Not once did I feel rushed during our appointment. He has a great bedside manor. He had me laughing during one of the most stressful days of my life. He was truly optimistic and therefore I felt optimistic. He connected with me (he skis and I snowboard) and even took time to tell me about mountains I should check out when I'm in Colorado this April. It's rare to be able to connect with a doctor. They usually want you in and out of their office ASAP. That wasn't my experience with Dr. K and Dr. Lee for that matter. He's progressive and smart. He instantly put me on a very helpful regimen. I left Dr. K's office feeling hopeful and motivated to get started. Overall, I am very pleased with both Dr. Lee and Dr. K. I am glad that I transitioned from another orthopedic group to Central Orthopedic. I highly recommend both doctors. They make a great team. read more

The doctor was ok ,but it took 4 day's and 6 phone calls than on hold for over 20 minutes to get the results of my MRI, totally unacceptable. The staff treated me like I was the problem for calling so much! What a joke! They don't even have a website where you can get your results online HELLO welcome to the 21 century! It is a shame I am only able to give them 5 stars because boy oh boy does this practice deserve more. Every doctor I have seen here has done a tremendous job. I also have had numerous MRI's and x-ray's taken here. I have to say anywhere else I have been, the people who perform my exam are soo rude and rough. Not here. Every time I have had an MRI or an X-ray they are so polite, gentile, and extremely knowledgeable. Their employees level of professionalism is far superior to anywhere I have ever been. Saw Dr. Duarte so called ankle specialist in October 2 019 took an x-ray comes back with his diagnosis tendinitis.Had a feeling from that appointment that he just wasn't interested in helping me wanted to see me again in four weeks waited until the beginning of the year because I was still in pain after doing everything I could by googling how to treat tendinitis long story short second appointment no x-ray looks at my ankle and says oh it looks better OK really he has got to be kidding me wanted to see me again in two weeks I'm sure for another copayment! never went back went today to Island Foot and ankle turns out I had a torn ligament in my ankle because now I can barely walk I trusted Central orthopedic group because I previously had two total knee replacements done by Dr Baez this guy was no Dr Baez he was the best ! I would not recommend Dr. Duarte to anyone!!In the mist of all this they are still billing me for $25 after I already paid for the x-ray and to copayments well guess what they're not getting any more money from me read more

I went to Dr. Silverberg for shoulder pain after I fell. He performed rotator cuff surgery after going for physical therapy ,which did not work. Dr.Checo deserves MUCH more than the 5 stars we can give! I first saw him in January 2016 and had ACDF c4-7 surgery in April 2016. His bedside manner is the best ever. He listens to everything. I train mma and ride horses. He took the time to learn what mma was and even showed me the muscle in my beck that was going to be moved during surgery as it looked in a human compared to a horse!!!!! I never once felt scared under his care. He promised he would be the first person I saw when I woke up and he WAS (not a nurse, aide, or resident). Today I am finishing up my follow ups and have been cleared for everything, including kickboxing, roller coasters, and most important to me riding my horse . So, in addition to being a wonderful person and a great bedside manner he also happens to be an incredible surgeon. I trust home with my life...literally. read more

Dr. Checo is a true healer!!!I just had neck surgery. Before the surgery I felt HORRIBLE. I had severe pain, vertigo, nerve tingling, headaches, etc. In several weeks I felt better as he said I would. I was very hesitant to have this invasive surgery but I'm so happy that I followed my doctors advice. My scar is minimal and expertly done. He handled my difficult insurance claim. The office staff has been nothing but attentive and helpful. I have friends from my area (Melville) and they have had the same results with this amazing doctor. This surgery changed my life. Accident Sunday took me to Urgicare - had xray and told fractured elbow, but they were more concerned about my shoulder - they made me an appt at Central Ortho with Dr Mathen. Went in Monday midday and spent about 3 minutes with him (he never even touched my shoulder - just my elbow) - got auth from ins company for 1 or 2 ordered MRIs - they said the Dr didn't call them back about the peer to peer on the elbow, so only had MRI 9pm Mon night. Report sent to Dr's office when they opened Tues morn - called late morn for results - got a machine. Called Tues late, got a machine. Called Wed morning, got a machine - finally, Wed later, I got someone who said she left a message, which was really a lie. I told her she can leave a message for me and she said she cannot due to HIPAA, so I said JUST LEAVE ME WHAT I SHOULD DO - ICE, HEAT, PT.....ANYTHING!!!! She said by end of day, I'd get a call back......NEVER DID!!!! This morning is Thurs.....still nothing.....left another message with Office Manager since I got a machine. Never again!!!! read more

I'm going to have to dispute JIMMY F's Review of Dr. Checo and the office as a whole. My daughter needed a back operation at a very young age. Not only did the staff get my daughter in to see Dr. Checo immediately, but upon seeing my daughter Dr. Checo gave my daughter the APPROPRIATE MEDICATION to keep her comfortable and sent her directly to the hospital. She was operated on that evening And was 100% by the time she woke up the next morning. Dr. Checo Wanted to give my daughter pain meds for when she went home but he understood my trepidation about her getting HOOKED ON OPIODS as so many people do.. He said Tylenol and motrin would suffice.He is a wonderful, caring and has the best bedside manner I have ever witnessed. THE case DID go through workman's comp with no problems. Two years ago my Mom fell and broke her left hip..Dr Mathen operated and she was back to work in less than 3 months. This May 3 she fell again and broke her right hip. She would not let ANY other Dr. touch her. We were told he was on vacation but to our surprise and delight he came back early to do the surgery. Where do you EVER find a Dr with that kind of dedication? Not only is he skilled surgeon but he truly cares for his patients. Oh and Mom is 91. I went to the office in Rockville Centre, the office staff was pleasant and caring. My appointment was with Dr. Scott Barbash his bedside manner was absent to say the least. I was seen for plantar fasciitis in both feet was given a prescription and and a paper to perform exercises at home to help. About 4 days into taking Meds the pain in my leg was unbearable and called the office for medical advice. I was sent to an outside facility for additional testing to rule out a blood clot or dvt in my leg. Things went down hill from that point. It's been 3 days and no call from the office with follow up information and no return calls to address my current discomfort. This is very poor customer service and neglect in patient care. Needless to say I have to been given the results of the outside testing on if a blood clot is present or dvt. I also reached out the office manager and Dr. Scott Barbash assistant and was told I would get a call back but to no avail I'm still sitting here in pain with no update. I work in health care myself and understand these are strenuous times on our healthcare professionals but the lack of basic follow up with patients who are in pain is disgraceful. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Where to begin... I had a knee injury under workers comp. after waiting about 5 weeks for Joann in billing to fail to get me an approval for an MRI, my office's insurance gave me an approval at another facility. After learning of this, Joann calls my office's insurance directly and without my knowledge to get the MRI appointment reschedule and moved to their facility. She did not consult with me first. how much they can bill you and your insurance company definitely comes before patient health. I waited over 5 weeks to find out exactly what was going on with my knee and they would've made me wait even longer just so they can collect on an MRI billing. Next... I needed to have the doctor fill out some paper work because I had injury insurance. It was maybe a handful of question on one page. Probably took him 30 seconds to complete. Their office policy is the charge 10 dollars for any papers to be completed by the doctor. Furthermore, I was so unhappy with this office I decided to switch and go else where. My new office needed copies of my treatment here. Central orthopedic groups charges 75 cents per page of any copies that you need. Absolute robbery! Next... In the five weeks or so I was being treated here I started physical therapy. I had about 5 sessions. In those five session I was treated by 4 different therapist. Their therapy department is always busy and they just go through basic motions with you. They showed me a couple of basic exercises and left me to attend to the next patient coming in. If you care about person attention and not being robbed, go elsewhere. This place really is horrible. read more

Okay so I see all the negative reviews and I am sorry I do not agree. I have had 4 surgeries here by different doctors and my son just had a major knee ligament repair done here. Yes the waits are long and the waiting on the phone is sometimes difficult but the care I have had and my family has had has been top notch. Some people think doctors offices are supposed to be perfect and that you are the only patient. I get that but you have to realize that there are numerous patients with ailments and I look at it is if my doctors office is busy there has to be a good reason. My family and I have seen every doctor in the practice and each one has been professional and courteous with excellent care read more
