I was looking for some Que around Clearwater and Tampa. Q Southern BBQ was along my route and very…read morehighly rated so it became my choice. Immediately when I walked in, I had employees there to help me with my selections. I wanted to try ribs, brisket, and pulled pork but they could only give me ribs in a half rack. With that information and my budget, I went with the 1/2 lb brisket and 1/4 pulled pork. The brisket was immaculate! It was juicy with a good bit of bark and fat. Everything you want from a brisket unless you are one of those who love the dry lean variety. The pulled pork was great too! For my sides, I asked the employee what he favorite was and she said mac and cheese without any hesitation. It was a superb choice as it was Cheesy and gooey. For my other side, I debated between beans and loaded baked potato salad. I went with the beans since they looked great, had bourbon, and I just had potato salad. Beans were also a superb choice with its smokiness and bourbon flavor. I loved the sauces as there are 7 - KC, Texas, Kentucky, Tampa, NC, SC, and Bama (have to ask for). The NC and SC you want for your pork. The NC is a very thin vinegar sauce that will do nothing but make a mess on brisket but the pulled pork soaks it in. The SC is a mustard BBQ sauce that just pairs well with pork. Bama sauce is a mayo base sauce that I would use only for chicken or turkey. The other 4 sauces all matched well with brisket. I liked the Kentucky the best with its bourbon flavor. The Tampa is a mild tomato base. The KC had a rich tomato flavor to it and Texas was a spicy tomato base. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! Q Southern BBQ is worthy of a 5!

Why, then, would I consider giving them only 3 stars? Because the pricing is absolutely insane. I know it's tough for restaurants these days to make money. That said...with a 15% gratuity, I paid $37 for 3/4 pound of BBQ chicken, a large side of collard greens, 2 baby ears of corn, and a fountain drink. Was it worth it? I mean, it was really good...but was it close to FORTY FREAKING DOLLARS good? I don't think any fast casual BBQ place is. Still, food and service were good enough to give them 4 rather than 3 stars.

They have a lot of different syrup options, as well as alternative milks. The bakery items in the front case and the food items to order are SO good. Highly recommend their pancakes, grits bowl, and potato bowl - all really delicious and filling. All staff have always been really pleasant and patient (even when I've been undecided on what to order). It's an eclectic cozy space with a good amount of seating! There's also outdoor seating, making it dog friendly! You might not get front row parking, but there is extra parking in the back, so it's never been an issue.

We chose to sit on the patio and waited for nearly 30 minutes without a single employee checking on our table. The line inside was all the way to the door, so at first we assumed someone would eventually come by, take our order, or at least acknowledge us. Instead, we watched multiple tables on both sides of us receive service while our table was completely ignored. Eventually, we ordered through the QR code on the menu. What wasn't clear is that QR code orders are apparently treated exactly like takeout orders. When our first item was ready, it was handed to us in a plastic container inside a bag. We explained that we were dining in, not taking food to go. I specifically asked a staff member named Graham if the remaining 3 dishes could simply be served on regular plates. He told me "that wasn't possible and that QR code orders automatically come in to-go containers". That explanation made very little sense considering we were sitting at a table in the restaurant. A few minutes later, one of my friends flagged down another server, who had no issue arranging for the food to be served on actual plates. That inconsistency was honestly mind-blowing. To make things even stranger, one coffee arrived in a ceramic mug while the rest came in disposable to-go cups. Nothing about the service felt organized or logical. As for the food, it was fine. Not bad, but nothing particularly memorable or worth making a special trip for. Given that I drove about an hour and paid tolls to visit, I definitely won't be making that drive again. I understand places get busy, but basic service still matters. If you're asking customers to tip when ordering through a QR code, serving dine-in food on actual plates instead of plastic takeout containers doesn't seem like an unreasonable expectation. There are simply too many other coffee shops with better service for me to return. 3 stars because the atmosphere was decent and the food was okay, but the service was disappointing from start to finish.

This I found online searching and have driven by it a million times in the 18 years I have lived here in Tampa Bay as it is close to my parents house. Sadly, the plaza that it is in isn't thriving so I never noticed it. Inside was cute with lively music and decor. They were willing to adjust our sandwiches to order and very friendly. They have been there for over 20 years according to the person I spoke with, which in a plaza not thriving says a lot. The prices were very affordable and all the meats were warm throughout (sadly I have had many Cubans with some meat still being cold even though pressed) but I would say that I would have liked the sandwich pressed just a little longer to make more of a crispy bread. Other than that, we enjoyed our lunch and are happy to have found a new location so close to my parents for when my Mom gets her Cuban cravings. :)

The ambiance didn't feel too welcoming as it darkly lit and awkwardly spaced. As nice as the staff were I don't think it made up for the not so nice food served. I ordered the Palomilla platter. The plantains were rice and plantains were nice. But the rest really didn't have much flavor. Maybe if given another chance they may improve but I'll skip. Next time I'll look elsewhere for my Cuban food cravings.
