I bought a 2022 heritage classic from Brian who was great to work with. He was pleasant, cut through the BS and I walked out with a fair trade and a great new bike. The guy who worked out the sell and trade tried to screw me by wanting 6,000 over sticker price and pay me 5,000 less for my trade value. Service department charges 1,500 for prepping the bike and they did a lousy job of that when I almost lost a saddlebag going down freeway. Brian got things back on track and I walked away with a good deal. So thank you Brian and maybe the others can learn to treat customers with respect and not try to screw them over. read more

My husband and I were in town from Chicago in January and just stopped in on a whim. Our first experience was amazing as they took over an hour to walk us through the showroom even after we explained we were from out of town and weren't ready to buy. They taught us about Harleys and were super kind. They followed up and showed interest in us beyond just selling a bike. So much so, that we flew in from Chicago in June just to purchase a bike from them and have it shipped to us. I use to come to this dealership all the time, and bought my bike from here 3 years ago! Then they changed ownership! I don't understand what has taken place, but this is now one of the worst dealerships i have ever been to! I have been to probably over 80 dealerships in the US, and having this dealership 10 minutes away really hurts! I will drive to Horney Toad in Temple everyday! My most recent experience was for Christmas presents almost a month ago. I was in the store 15 minutes, never once was I greeted! When I finally tracked someone down to help me, they could not have been any rudder and annoyed they had to help! I purchased my 2018 Road Glide from Central Texas Harley Davidson in Round Rock, Texas two weeks ago. I must say that the level of service and responsiveness from the dealership from the time I walked in the door to the time when I signed the paperwork and took possession of my bike was truly phenomenal. My salesperson Kathryn Redden was extremely helpful and courteous. She was not pushy but was responsive and made me feel very comfortable in the purchase of my Road Glide. It was a great experience! Really wish this app had an option for negative stars. Piece of advise don't buy anything used from here. They tell you they check them out really well before they sell them but that is a load of crap don't believe a word of that. I've had my bike two months and after having it two weeks had to have my transmission rebuilt. Get it out and a week and a half later it has to get a clutch cable and compensater then not even two hours after getting it out of the shop the bike locks up on me and I go skidding all over the road so now it's back in the shop, missing out on my ride I had planned for months after damn near getting killed after leaving their shop..... I will never buy after bike from this location or any that has the same owners and the way it's looking I'm gonna be paying for a bike that I won't ever be able to ride. Central Texas Harley Davidson are a bunch of crooks! Shady dealer selling defective problematic bikes at a high price. Unwilling to budge on price for anything with terrible customer service and attitude towards the client. Seemed to just attempt to squeeze as much money out of the client as possible with zero remorse. Three weeks after purchasing a pre-owned bike, that this dealer sold originally and built the upgraded engine, they were zero help on cost to repair major engine damage for an underlying problem they passed off. Harley Davidson cooperate was no help either as they opened a case and the dealer was still unwilling to use any goodwill funds towards an issue they created. Unless you purchase their overpriced warranty, they treat you second class and turn their backs. Ridenow and Central Texas Harley only care about the profit and never the client. Terrible experience and suggest you look for a locale family owned dealer if ever in the market for a motorcycle. read more

My husband and I took his bike in for a standard tire change and the crew here did a thorough diagnostic and found some other issues that we didn't know existed. After an initial miscommunication about the bike status and functionality, we had to return the bike immediately for more work. We were initially frustrated and felt like we had the wool pulled over our eyes, but Lance (the new manager) was INCREDIBLE at directly addressing the communication issue at hand and went out of his way to make sure we received the best service. Lance is, without a doubt, the man this location has needed to rebound after years of a less-than-successful management style. If you haven't visited Central Texas Harley since the ownership change and new management take over, you're missing out! We will definitely be back! SERVICE IS TRASH! Bought my 2019 iron last feb. Sales team has always been awesome. My back tire had a nail in it so when we called to see how to get my bike in and out to literally just get a new back tire, they said not till 3p bc it is first come first serve. They have about 20 something bays in the back with top of the line guys working on bikes and I know they are handsomely staffed. I've always heard horror stories when it came to parts and the shop but I always thought people were blowing smoke... turns out this is 1000% true. Save your time and take your money down the street at flying piston. They even helped my friend who needed his back tire worked on free of charge. HD (to reiterate what James said) means Hundred Dollars. Knowing that prior to buying your bike will save you countless cardiac arrhythmias when you shop for accessories and parts. I was warned by my brother that "This ain't cheap, but it's better than owning a boat." prior to getting my beloved Softail Deluxe last year. He was right- parts and accessories are pricey if you want the "HD" logo- there's tons of aftermarket stuff out there that's just as good (check out the JP Cycle catalog, big as a phone book). I have NEVER had a bad experience here. When I bought my bike, I went on the evening of Black Friday 2009. After checking out several models I decided on an 09 Softail Deluxe which had been on the floor for a while (that I got the impression they wanted to move). Thus began the negotiations. These guys were willing to work with me, and when I threw them my bottom line they countered with an offer $500 over that was well within the ballpark. They also threw in VIP maintenance to sweeten things (and a credit for a helmet), so everyone was happy. Thanks to Mitch who helped me pick out the perfect ride. This place has a VERY active Harley Owner's Group (HOG) Chapter that sponsors an average of eight rides a month, plus long distance overnights. Clothing can be pricey as hell, but I usually shop in the sale area and get stuff cheap, and if you get on their text message notifications you can save some real cash. By purchasing the 2011 HOG calender I saved $70 on a jacket (not bad since the calender with the coupons was twelve bucks). Would I buy another bike here? Hell yeah. read more

I'm a little in shock right now. I just got off the phone with the service department. See, my two-week old 2011 Dyna Custom that I bought from Central Texas HD has developed a rattle. I mean, a RATTLE. Maybe more like a squeak. Regardless, it's the loudest thing on the bike right now. It sounds like I'm riding a spaceship. It's just embarrassing! And annoying! Did I mention the bike is two weeks old? So, I called the service department at CTHD. No biggie, I thought. I'll make an appointment to take the bike so they can adjust what ever needs to be adjusted. Then they drop the bomb - they don't take appointments. Nope, it's first come, first served! WTH? No appointments?!? So, basically, it's repair roulette. I can drive all the way up there to Round Rock and hope that they can get me in after a reasonable wait time. WTH? What kind of service department doesn't take appointments? I just had both my other cars worked on. Yup, appointments, both of them. Talk about a terrible anti-customer attitude! And he acted as though I was a little crazy expecting to make an appointment. This is very disappointing, ESPECIALLY coming from a company that calls me back every time I call them to do a "customer service" check to make sure all their customers are happy. I have heard they are the #1 seller in Texas. I guess if you really want a Harley you'll buy regardless of how rude some of the sales staff can be. I was on the sales lot three over a two week span. My boyfriend was looking to get a bike. The first time we went in we spoke to a guy name Jim. He was very knowledgeable and funny. He reminded me of Spicoli (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) 30 years later. During this visit we wanted to get an idea of what was available. The second time we visited Jim wasn't there. We talked to a guy for 2 minutes (is Jim here? No, can I help you? When will Jim be back? Let me check (comes back a few seconds later, He'll be here tomorrow). So we leave. Our 3rd visit we find Jim. If we're going to buy - we'll buy from Jim. He gave us so much of his time during our first visit. As we are sitting waiting on finance I over hear a conversation between Jim and two other sales guys. It seems the "veteran" sales guy that told us "Jim wasn't there" was going to get the commission for the bike we were buying. Nevermind that Jim spent about 45 minutes with us the week before - it seems they are pretending like our visit the day before was being counted as our first time on the lot. WTF? My dad worked in sales for 35 years. I have heard of these stories but never actually watched one play out. It turns out Jim had only been there a few weeks and they were pushing deals to the sales guys who have been there a very long time to help them meet their number. When I asked who was getting the commission and then challenged the response - I was met with a serious attitude. So we walked away from the deal. My boyfriend absolutely agreed. If Jim isn't going to get the commission for the time he dedicated to us than this location won't make the sale at all. read more

Overall I'm rating these guys 3 stars because of the negative way I was treated by Sales Management not by my Sales Rep and for the subsequent positive way I've been treated by their Services department. My Sales Rep, Steve Miller, is a good guy. He understands life's issues when it comes to making a purchase such as this and works with you while not being too hard-core. It's not until he turned me over to Sales Management that I got the brash treatment. To this day I am still somewhat amazed I went ahead and bought a bike from these guys even after I was overtly offended by one of their sales managers. Since I bought my bike I've fallen in love with it. I've only had to take it in once for a throttle adjustment, which was done at no-charge by their Services department. That went well. I am now needing my 1000 mile service and am finding that that Central Texas is a little bit more expensive than Cowboy. My suggestion, shop around for this service. It stinks they don't take appointments, but I do understand that's the nature of their business. None of the HD dealerships seem to take appointments. read more

A couple buddies asked if I wanted to ride out with them to Austin for South by Southwest music fest which I was all about considering two things: I've always wanted to do a cross country moto adventure (I'm in San Diego) and visit Austin. Only issue is that my sport and vintage bikes aren't the most practical for touring. So, it was a cold evening in early March that with great humility I asked my father if I could borrow his Road King for this trip, leaving my Ducati as collateral. After hearing the same lecture I got when I asked to use his car for prom 14 years ago, he agreed. The ride itself was freezing, sometimes wet, often nerve racking and I'd do it again in a heart beat. I'd already been in Austin a couple days when taking a ride around the area some knucklehead in a Prius turned out on the road without looking right in front of me. I managed to avoid by going off the road and into the dirt and thought I had recovered then...like in slow motion "timmmmmmber!" I tip over and DUMP MY DAD'S BIKE! At least had the Prius hit me I'd have the peace of mind knowing my dad would be more concerned about me (I assume). Anyways, brake lever is toast, shifter is bent, saddle bag, this thing is barely rideable, no way I can make a trip from Austin to San Diego with pop's bike in this condition. I get on the iPhone and use the Yelp app to find a Harley shop in the Austin area and it brought me to Central Texas Harley. Big, new and CLEAN (I look for things like that) store. Great vibe, right when I pull up one of their employees is out front talking to a customer and my buddies are on a Yamaha Roadliner and Royal Star that they both put some work into and the guy immediately complimented my friends' bikes, which, based on preconceived notions created by Harley places in my area, totally blindsided me. He then looks at my bike and says "you must be here for parts." With a laugh I asked him to point me in the right direction. He was in sales, knew we were from out of town so not likely to buy but still took the time to walk us to the parts department talking about out trip and my "incident" and then introduced me to Ryan in parts. Ryan was great, knew what I was looking for like the back of his hand and had everything in stock that I needed to swap out. I even decided to change out the highway peg (dad would have caught that scuff anyway). Now, I'm doing business with Ryan under my usual mentality that unless it's a major service I can do the work myself, except for the fact that I'm 1000 miles away from my garage and tools. I explain that "oh yeah" to Ryan, he gets me with a service guy that I explain my situation to and considering they looked pretty busy I was stoked to hear he'd have it done that day. While I'm waiting on my bike we stay at the shop chatting it up with the employees, talking everything from Harleys, to motocross and sportbikes. I love motorcycle dealerships that still have that "hang out" atmosphere filled with people that simply love to ride. They gave me some ToDo's while I'm in town (burger at Dirty Martin's was awesome - thanks for the tip!). My bike is ready and looks as good as new. South by Southwest was a blast, I recommend it to any music fan. And I recommend Central Texas Harley to any one looking for a Harley out in Texas. Great team, great service, great people. As for my dad, I'm returning his Road King today for inspection tonight, wish me luck. read more

I needed an inspection and thought while I'm there I'll just get an oil change. Looked on their website and saw that they had Sunday service hours. Awesome!!! Website says that they are open Sundays from 8am-2pm. So I arrived there this morning a little after 9am to find that the showroom is closed Sundays but there is a sign on the service bay door with the Service Department hours. Sun 10am-4pm. So I'm a little pissed but it's a nice morning and I decide it's not so bad to just sit and wait until they open. 10am comes and no one is here. I think maybe only one person shows up to open on Sunday mornings and he or she partied a little last night and they are just running late. When 1030 rolls around I call their number and a recording tells me that they are open everyday but Sunday. Website = Sunday 8am-2pm CTHD building = Sunday 10am-4pm Phone = Sunday CLOSED Get your crap straight and thanks for wasting my morning. I will be speaking to a manager tomorrow to see when they want to perform my services free of charge. read more

Central Texas Harley is a huge facility with a an incredible number of new and used units. Employees are friendly but not necessarily knowledgeable or able to follow through on promises. There's some sort of communication gap between some employees. If you want great service with someone who actually follows through, work with Sparky. He's consistently helpful, courteous and friendly. He knows his inventory and he worked hard to help me pick out my new trike. I purchased a 2018 Street Glide from these guys last spring (2018). So far I've been pretty happy with the service and support. I certainly liked working with them on getting the bike. Sparky really worked with me to make sure I got what I wanted for the right price. I've been very happy with the service department. They have delivered what they promised when they said they would. They saved me money when I went to add the Stage 1 parts this winter by reminding me of a sale that would take place in a week. I was ready to plop down cash and they saved me $500.00. That's pretty solid and friendly service if you ask me. When I brought the bike in the made the changes and called my when it was ready. Ready on schedule. They've added grips and LED lights also and I've been happy every time. My experience with the merchandise department has only been a little bit off. For the most part I've not had the really bad experiences that others have written about. In fact, I was just in there today, to burn up loyalty points before they expired, and got all the service and help a person could want. So, I'm pretty happy with them. But there was this one time. I went to get a new jacket for the winter and they didn't have what I wanted and they promised to check and call me. They never called and I ended up buying from a different shop. So that wasn't very nice but mostly it hurt them and so far it has been a one time experience. Overall, I have had mostly good experience. I've got to say I'd recommend them. Recently bought a bike from central Texas harley. Staff was amazing even though I was looking to buy a used Indian from them. Everyone including Sparky was very helpful. One concern was final price of the bike. It was listed at $8,900 but I paid $10,800 for it. They added almost a thousand for what they claim to have put into the bike when they purchased it. A little misleading if you ask me. Not sure if other motorcycle dealerships do this but auto dealerships do not. Auto dealers are very deceptive but don't think they would do that. Went back to Austin to visit old friends and wanted to pick up a couple of Tshirts for my brother and his wife. I drove all the way from Slaughter lane in Austin to Round Rock because of the good Yelp reviews on this dealership. I was closer to another Harley dealer but the negative reviews about them made me head north up I35 to Round Rock. No easy task considering I35 traffic. I pulled into the lot and was floored by the huge selection of bikes and had I been in the market to add to my collection.....I digress. I entered the store and was immediately greeted by Stephanie with a warm smile and exemplary customer service. I found that excellent customer service spilled over into my dealings with Kim as she assisted Stephanie with my check out. Had Kim not assisted Stephanie, I would never have guessed that Stephanie was a fairly new addition to the Harley crew. My positive experience with this dealership continued with a personnel tour of the store to include the service area and introductions to other staff. Every staff member that I met was very welcoming and their pride in providing top level customer service was very evident. *****WORST DEALERSHIP EVERY****** Took my bike for remap, was told one price twice. Work done was give a $100 more charge. Told the price I was given was just labor. They found something wrong with my bike while doing the work. I had to cordinate and work the warranty company to get the work done. Then I got yelled at by their CSM when I asked why I was doing their job. Wrote a letter to Corp, the owner of CTH calls me. Defends his employees like a protective mother. Never applogies, or anything. PROCEEDS to tell me that I have a twisted perception on reality and as long as I agreed to never step foot in his store we're on the same page. I was in the market for a 2105 FLHX, and tried to work out a deal with my trade. I felt as though they didn't want to work with me, and that I was getting the runaround so I was ready to walk ( I brought a lot of money for a downpayment even though I didn't need one ). Being a reasonable person, I gave Mikey a chance to find something in their inventory that would fit my budget. Lo and behold, he found a very gently used 2014 FLHX for a price that would fit my budget. Good save Mikey! When I used to hear the term "High Volume Dealership", I used to think that it meant "we make so much money that we don't need your business". I know now that it means: we can find you something. A word or two of advice: 1. Try to sell your bike to get what it's worth because the dealer will not give you what you want regardless of how many, or what kind of upgrades you make. The dealer didn't even come close. 2. DO NOT get suckered into what they call a V.I.P. service plan. It does not roll over to your next bike, and there is no rebate if you do not use it completely. If you roll it into your loan, you are paying for it with interest. Find an independent Harley certified mechanic who can do the scheduled maintenance at a much cheaper price i.e. Shamrock Motorcycles. IF I ever feel the need to upgrade, I will consider going back to see Gunny, and Andrew at Central Texas Harley Davidson. read more
