I followed the tracking number, when my package arrived went to the Central Transport facility in Hayward, and the nice gentleman at the counter reviewed my paperwork, said wait 10 minutes, and in 10 minutes a young man brought out my part on a forklift, helped me load it in my truck, and I was on my way. Every time I have schedued a pickup, they are late and don't bother to contact us to let us know. Calling customer service taks at least 30 minutes on hold before someone answers. They seem to not care that I am calling to find out why they did not show up. No appologies. One of my Hazmat shipments was left in my residential customers yard. That is illegal. The driver forged the required signature. Someone could have stolen the shipment. I was foolish to keep trying your service. Not any more. read more

This company is a sham. I ordered a part from a respectable company in California and apparently they use this garbage company to ship with for some reason (not upset with the company I bought from at all). The shipment was sent from CA to NH and after a week was delivered at an address in CA. I understand mistakes can be made, so I contacted the seller and they took care of it and confirmed it would be shipped again. This time, the shipment would take approximately another week to go from CA to NH and I confirmed on Central's website that it would arrive Friday. It didn't. Monday morning I check again and now it says Tuesday. Of course the website tracing obviously can't be trusted, so I decide to call them. Good luck with that. You get put on hold and nobody ever picks up the phone. I am now waiting for an email response from them at which time I fully expect to be told that they're overbooked or some other story as I see that is what everyone else gets for a response as well. DO NOT USE this company. They don't seem to know what they're doing and now all I can do is hope the package arrives in one piece. If it doesn't, we will make sure they pay for it. read more

Been waiting 4 weeks for my item to be offloaded at their destination terminal so it can be loaded onto a different truck and delivered to me. I get the same response every time I contact them regarding the item being delivered. They tell me that it's still in the process of being unloaded from the truck so it can be loaded onto a different delivery truck. So I'm supposed to believe that they take four weeks to offload items. When I contacted the company I purchased the item from they said that they have the same company pick up items every week. I can't even pick up the item myself as I would but they are still saying it's sitting on a trailer in their terminal yard. Worst company I have ever been plagued to deal with regarding logistics. My order was routed 1000+ miles away to a terminal in NY and held for approximately 5 days. After calling and waiting on hold 3 times for 20+ minutes I was finally able to get someone who looked into the delivery issue and realized that this order was coming to Wisconsin. Even then i was still 5 more days out. So i asked about compensation and was told we are an estimated delivery co so we cant do anything for you. Here is the short story: I ordered an antique television from a setter in Ohio who shipped it to me by truck using a company called count Time Logistics. This company uses Central Transport, Today at 10:30 am the driver showed up out of the blue. We were told that we would be called prior to the delivery and that just did not happen. What happened next stunned me. The driver, a guy named James , or something similar arrived and you could tell within five seconds that the guy did not like his job, was rude and was upset that there were stairs to climb. I immediately took control by saying, no problem, you parked in the right spot and I will go downstairs with you. It was obvious to everyone in my building that the guy was lazy. Finally, I looked at the guy and said "you act like you don't want to make this delivery. If you don't want to move the boxes, no problem, just let me use your hand truck and I'll take it up the stairs myself because I am a big strong man." This stunned the guy who immediately became friendlier. I helped him carry it up one flight of stairs and he immediately asked "Can you take it from here?" Since I wanted him to get his lazy unkempt you-know-what away from me I immediately said yes and used my own dolly to move the two hundred pound box. Perhaps I am wrong, but it you work for a delivery service as a truck driver, doesn't it necessarily mean that you are willing to move articles that you have been paid handsomely to do? This guy is probably a union driver making a decent wage in a horrible economy and he is as lazy as most teenagers. James, you should be ashamed of yourself. You are trifling, lazy and rude. Central Transport should give you your final paycheck today. I immediately called the customer service department and, to my mind, they acted like they could not care less. read more

If it was possible to give ZERO stars, this company would have earned it. I recently sent a package that was clearly fragile and clearly described and stated to the dispatcher who took the reservation. The day the items were to be delivered, there was no sign of them and trying to call the customer service department is a joke. They ended up finding my package which was mishandled and dropped and completely broken throughout. Someone in the warehouse had hidden the package to avoid repercussions. The item, needless to say, never made it to the delivery point. Now that was just the beginning. Something like that could happen anywhere. What really upset me was the lack of customer service. I attempted to speak to the customer service department who would constantly direct me to write an e-mail, as there was very little human communication with this company. After days and hours of trying to talk to customer service to file my claim and get my product value back, THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL! I spoke to Jeff Cackowski (customer service manager) not sure where they are able to get these titles, as he had not an ounce of customer service experience or assistance in his body. He not only argued with me, but even after saying that his driver made a bad assumption, it was still my fault and that I would not get any refund for my product. So this company promised a 4 day Delivery time frame, no problem. They picked up the Pallet on Monday Morning and when I called so I could confirm if it would be here Thursday, Friday or Saturday all I was told was that it would be 4 days. The next day I got a tracking update saying it would not be here until Tuesday of next week. I sent an email asking why and was told there was a high freight volume... suddenly... I let them know this needs to be here within the agreed time frame and I was sent to someone else. Wednesday comes around and I finally hear something, they are moving it to another warehouse to help speed up the process but now the date has been pushed back another day.... I asked if this would get it back on schedule and was told that was the goal. This morning (Thursday) I check the status and it has not only not moved warehouses but now it is delayed yet another day. So we went from a 4 Day time frame to over 8 Business Days. Of course they at this point do not care to respond as they have been paid but I think it's time for a Charge back to get their attention. I literally scheduled a delivery to my address FIVE separate times and every time it would just not show up. Every time I would call and they would say they weren't sure why it didn't arrived, or that they couldn't get a truck. What? If you schedule a delivery, make sure you have a damn a truck to deliver said scheduled delivery. I'm not even going to get into the finer details of why they suck even more (well, they told me they'd call me with a 30 minutes heads up of delivery and/or delivery in a certain window of time -- neither of which happened), but suffice it to say, spend the extra money and go with a different company. Had a big shipment coming to my place of employment during the worst time possible with this virus circus going on. Our work schedules have changed/cut dramatically which plays into my review. So my package was supposed to come on Wednesday 4/22/20 and I called them to try and have it arrive anytime before noon because no one was going to be there to accept it after that time since we'd be closed. If they had to delay the delivery date to make this happen I was totally fine with that. Upon talking to DAVID (which you would never know it was a guy because he sounded like there was something in his... never mind) in customer service, he told me there would be a $75 appointment fee for the request to be delivered before noon. I told him no I'll just pick it up at the terminal instead. Then he said it was a $199 fee to pick it up at the terminal. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? I asked him what other options were there? His reply was if the delivery showed up after 12:00 they'll make a note that no one was there to accept the package and charge me a $300 redelivery fee. That's when I started cursing at him up and down. I'm calling to let them know that no one is going to be there after a certain time and they would deliver it anyways and charge me extra. Get the F*** out of here. First of all, through no fault of my own, the virus has screwed everyone's schedules. And they're going to punish me for that? Had freight picked up on 7/26/21 from Hickory NC to be delivered to Chehalis WA this is now 8/10/21 and still no sign of the freight, called customer service and talking to them was like talking to a recording, I still don't know when my freight will be delivered each time I track it the date keeps getting pushed out, it has been sitting in Tacoma now for 4 days which is only an hour away & no one can tell me a for sure delivery date. It was not my choice on which carrier was used but you can bet on any future shipments this carrier will not be used & any one I deal with that wants to use this carrier will be strongly advised against it. Poor communication skills and poor customer service. I had a scheduled appointment between a certain window and they never showed up the entire day. When I tried to reach out to customer service nobody was available to contact. I could only contact them through email where they only respond Monday through Friday. Yes this was a Saturday delivery where they do not have Saturday hours so why they scheduled the appointment with me for a Saturday is beyond me. I would never recommend this company for transportation at all whatsoever. When I finally got in contact with them they didn't seem to care their answer was my apologies we did not have a drivers available for that day. Don't use central transport for any service. Drivers have major attitude and can not deliver items where requested because it's heavy or big. What are you getting paid for then? Literally instructions tell you where to deliver but drivers can't follow instructions. Their supervisor sucks too. No customer gesture. Although i provided all the information of my supplier location and open hours, the driver keep arriving late when the supplier facility is closed. another day of pick up, the driver refused to pick up my merchandise because he said it took too long to load it and he has to go pick up other products. this was after he misses the pick up time for one week (every single day), and when he showed up he refused to pick it up because it takes a bit of time to load. Through their claim process, I submitted photos and receipts, but they fail to take any responsibility. Business like this need to be held accountable. Today is the fourth time this company has tried to deliver one shipment of 8x4 Owens Corning 703 panels. Each time it's supposed to be delivered they said they didn't have a truck the correct size to do it. On the third time it actually arrived, it was damaged and I had to refuse the shipment. Pictures will be included. So now it's the fourth time it was supposed to arrive after a new shipment had been sent out, and they don't have the right size truck??? So the other three times weren't a way to figure out what you needed before you tried to deliver it? This company is a joke, and since it's direct ship from Owens Corning, I'm holding them accountable too. The worst shipping service ever. My business had a large order from a national business. It needed LTL service and they suggested using this company. I have a lot of experience with FedEx, UPS and a couple LTL lines, but thought it would be ok to try out a new company. Our experience exactly mirrored with others posted. The shipment did not get delivered on the first day it was supposed to. When I called customer service they said "It did not make it onto a truck" at the local shipping hub. No apologies. No assurances it would arrive the next day. I called the next day, at 10am, this past Friday, and they said the local shipping hub ran out of trucks with liftgates and it wouldn't be delivered. They told me they don't guarantee shipments, ever. They said they would need to set an appointment for my delivery since I was going out of town, but they said they couldn't even guarantee they would make the appointment. I was told I could pick it up from the hub, though. No apologies. Would not transfer me to speak with a manager. I was finally transferred to the manager's voicemail. It was clear I would never get the shipment in any kind of timely manner and are on a schedule. I called back to get info about picking up from the hub. That person called the hub to confirm I could pick it up. We rented a u-haul truck and I sent two of our team over to the hub. They left at 1 and got to Hayward, CA before 2 and were told we couldn't pick up the shipment. They needed written agreement from the shipper to pick up the shipment. I was furious. I had spent well over an hour on the phone with this company thus far. I kept that hub manager on the phone and called customer service again. I was told to read their Shipping Tariff where it says they need it in writing. Yes, it does, but it doesn't say the shipper has to approve us picking up at Will Call. Customer service won't budge. Won't apologize for the shipment not being made. I demand to speak with the manager. Again and again I'm told they won't help. I finally get transferred to the same manager I left the VM for earlier, who had not yet called me back. She also says we need written approval from the shipper and that they don't split charges for the new Will Call pick up fee. The $8 pick up fee. They won't let us even pay that in cash. $8. It does not say in their tariff that the shipper has to send this email. She says it does say so. I read the tariff wording to her. She says the agreement is on the paperwork the shipper signed. Miraculously we find the person at that national corporation who can send them their needed email. The hub manager calls their customer service who confirm the email and then has to wait for it to be processed through two other departments. Our truck gets loaded at 10 minutes to 4pm. And it turns out the truck with the liftgate is broken, so god-knows-when our shipment would have actually arrived. They didn't call to let us know this and offer a regular truck to deliver. Worst customer service, ever. Not a single apology through all this rigamarole. I will be reporting to BBB. This company should be sued for how incredibly bad their business practices are. read more

Incompetent and not able to schedule pickups. Spoke to the one woman who said the shipper is to know what to load on the truck when they arrive. Why did I book through central transport when the shipper is to randomly load their trucks?!?!?! I book through central transport to pickup at the shippers location, I gave all information to central transport to schedule the pickup time and item to be loaded yet can't seem to get it right. Trucks arrive and don't get loaded cause they aren't relaying the information to their drivers. Horrible service. Do not expect any delivery date to be kept. Mauricio Torres I sent a pallet with very important tools and this company has declared my cargo as missing. These tools are for the oil industry and covered by a heavy contract compliance bond which will be collected by our client's customer if they do not arrive on time. I have called and were told they would look for my cargo and this would take 72 hours. It has been over a week and they are still saying it will take 72 hours. I have had to call because they will not call back to update the status of my cargo. I will not use this company or recommend it to any of our colleagues. I have placed a complaint with the BBB and hope others will not have to go through this ordeal. Not a good trucking company. Before I could tell my warehouse, they finally came by and picked it up. I expressed my concern about my pallet be delivered on time and was told it's not a problem. 2 day delivery. 4 days later, I am calling frantically. They lost the paperwork...etc. Then they found it. I asked to deliver it that day, Thursday. They didn't. Nor did they deliver Friday. Then I said put it on a private courier. My client needs it at 8am on Monday morning. They labeled it as "hot". There were two positive things going into this nightmare. The local staff was easy to communicate with & the price was reasonable. (Central was picked by a shipping broker I used) The goods shipped were an eBay sale (set of 37" x 13.50" x 22" mounted off road wheels & tires banded to a pallet). The whole shipment stood over 5" tall by nearly 40" square. They sold on eBay for $1000 & the customer also paid me to package and arrange the shipping to Maine for a total of $1500. He paid via PayPal & the shipment was sent via Central. All was good until they attempted to deliver the WRONG commodity to the customer. (a series of boxes instead of a set of LARGE wheels / tires). They were shipped in late July 2020. After a series of hours worth of calls, emails, texts, etc..... claims were filed along w/ appropriate paperwork as requested... after a series of supposed dock checks & whatever by late August they admittedly LOST them. How in the hell do you LOSE a set of wheels & tires of that size???!!! So, after repeated attempts to talk to someone & find out what happened w/ no real reply. I had to give my customer (whom also had tried to contact the freight people at his end also) a refund & the freight was lost. All I got from Central (besides a bunch of smoke & mirrors) was $54.40 because of some ruling based off of size & weight. Therefore, them being entrusted to handle freight and subsequently losing it has no accountability. This company cost me over 1K in lost product & probably that much in lost productivity (I am a sole proprietor business) based off of time WASTED trying to get some fucking answers!!! I would rate this company in a deficit if possible. BAD BAD BAD shippers beware. Hope someone can avoid my perils if even just to save on your sanity. FWIW also, Silvergate Shipping (broker) also did nothing but, blow smoke up my ass as well.
