Stopped in to this cute coffee shop for breakfast and saw "grab a flight with a friend" & could not resist! We got their birthday cake flight not knowing what to expect and as soon as this was brought to our table this flight exceeded all of our expectations absolutely amazing! Each coffee had a different flavor of yummy goodness and I didn't want it to end. For breakfast we just had egg and cheese croissants and they were delicious! Sitting inside was fun with games and books to read as well as good music. & The staff was so friendly and immediately great vibes. Also very patient. They were super busy at one point and still brought everything to the table. I also got to taste the blueberry smoothie and it was so so good!! We're not from here but already said on our next trip back this is a must!! read more

Just an "okay" coffee shop. The food is not even up to quality I make at home (and is way overpriced for microwaved items!!) and the coffee doesn't have prices listed, which is incredibly frustrating. The only redeeming quality seems to be that they're open on Sundays, which a lot of places in Wheeling aren't. I never recommend this place to out of town friends if I can help it, especially since we have SEVERAL truly top notch coffee shops and cafes in the area within walking distance of this place. Truly, I wish it was better because it's well located and convenient. If they would just focus on making a FEW menu items WELL with high quality ingredients and have all prices listed, they would gain another star for sure. This could be a destination cafe within Wheeling and it currently is not. read more

this is such a cute coffee shop, very small town homey vibes. let's start off with there menu, is massive there's something for everyone. teas, smoothies, refreshers, coffee, and lots of syrup options. they also have a great food menu as well. my personal favorite is a iced vanilla latte with oat milk and lavender cold foam. they can make any flavor cold foam, and yes their cold foam is better then Starbucks cold foam. The service is amazing, everyone is so kind and friendly. The food is good, I love their Cobb salad. This place has the freshest avocados, always perfectly ripe. they also have creative menu items, I had their coffee flight which be perfect to share. What I like about this coffee shop is that it is conveniently located within center market making it a prime destination before carrying out window browsing or shopping. I typically order a regular coffee but I have also ordered a latte and they were both good. What I wish was better is the owner's customer service(Theresa). I feel I've always been polite and tipped well even when she has been working and hasn't greeted me with a hello or smile when I've entered(other customers have been seen treated the same way). More than fifty percent of the time I have ordered to go. A couple times I have ordered coffee and parked myself at a table to complete some light paperwork between clients when only myself or one other person was present. The worst experience was my latest experience. I stopped mid morning, ordered a coffee from an employee, and because no other customers were present, I sat at a table with a folder and some papers to kill approximately thirty minutes of time. When the owner walked in during this time, she looked at me, partially smiled back at me, spoke to her employee, and then walked to the back of her store and changed the radio station to the most unwelcoming coffee shop music at a loud enough volume where I would have had to talk loudly if a person had been sitting next to me. I then froze. I wondered why she would resort to this action rather than coming to me directly and asking me to put away my papers, not drink my coffee in her shop, or whatever was bothering her. I felt this was a probable guess for her to change the music channel and volume because as a teenager I worked at an establishment with a manager that did the same thing if he wanted a customer to leave. I then began to put my papers in my folder with the intention of leaving when the other employee went to the back, changed the music to the previous channel and volume, and then came to me apologizing for the owner's behavior. While apologizing she informed me the owner doesn't want people occupying her tables unless it's during their lunch hour. I understand an owner's right to run a business however he/she determines. My intention was never to occupy a table and take away from other customers. My decision was based on no other customers present. In addition, no additional customers entered during the time I was there. Do I recommend their coffee? Yes. I also have always appreciated the taste of Wheeling Coffee Shop on Washington Avenue. What I can't support is going to Center Cup where an owner acts rudely and unwelcoming. It'll be especially unfortunate if it happens to other locals or perhaps a traveler making a pit stop gaining a first impression of a local business. read more

This is a small, local business coffee shop with intimate touches, but could use small improvements. First the positives: 1. The coffee tastes better than Starbucks Pike Place blend. I think it is much mellower and doesn't have the burnt aftertaste. 2. The location is very nice. It is within the market district area near a bunch of other really cool shops and restaurants. 3. The prices are basically equivalent or slightly better than Starbucks. 4. The main barista is very friendly and welcoming. The unchangeable negatives: 1. The location is in an area with metered parking and free parking is about 1/4 miles away. 2. Work space is small and is not suitable for large study groups. 3. Plug outlets are sparse. Improvements that can be made: 1. The $5 minimum for credit card transactions is annoying and outdated. 2. The ambiance could improve with books and maybe a fake fireplace. 3. The menu is dissonant. It is difficult to read the right side menu. Overall, this is a great little coffee shop that could improve slightly. read more

Don't pay attention to the business hours listed online. They don't. The door doesn't have a closing time so they can close up whenever, I'm assuming. I understand that business might be slow and they would want to close to save on cost. But I'm visiting town, I tried stopping here 3 times and they weren't open. I'm not likely to keep trying to go and will probably head somewhere else that is more likely to be open. read more

The owner of Center Cup Coffee was reading her paper while I waited to get coffee then she complained about my reusable cup being too big, and I said just give me what a large order would be. I said you're not very friendly this morning. She said what? I said you were reading your paper while I was waiting to order coffee. She said, know what? I'm the owner of this place and I don't need your business, you aren't getting any coffee. Well, it was overpriced crap anyways. I've never felt anything friendly there in the past either, and from reading another review where she kicked a person out, it doesn't surprise me. Maybe she doesn't like Mondays or rain. read more

We were in for lattes. Most excellent. Its was quiet and comfortable. They have cookies and such. It was perfect for after dinner coffee.

This shop provides standard fare, coffee-wise. Atmosphere-wise, it could be ok/average if not for the rudeness and lack of hospitality on the part of the owner. Regardless of her unrealistic view of her establishment, it's not anything special and is usually empty. I'm surprised that they're still in business. Amusing that they have "free WiFi" listed on the right. Sure, it's free; if you're one of the privileged people that she provides with the SSID and password. Otherwise, she's more than happy to let you sit there without it, while blatantly giving the info to others right in front of you. read more
