Lunch specials served every day from 11AM to 3PM. Lunch specials come with choice of soup, salad or spring roll. Most lunch specials are under $10! Food is good. Great value. Usually not crowded even on the weekend. Staff is very friendly and professional.

    White beef?

Service and ambiance were great. Food was not as appealing as I hoped for. I ordered shrimp, chicken and beef pad thai lunch special. The beef had this white discoloration to it which was a turn off for me, the meat was dry for both the chicken and beef. One of my shrimp had a green discoloration on the tail as well which made me think it was not cleaned properly. The hostess was very nice and it's cute in there, just not satisfied with my meal.

I came here for lunch with my family, and of course we had to stop for Thai! We opted to dine in as no one else was in the restaurant with couple of people walking in/out for their pick up orders. The servers did an amazing job keeping our water glasses full and checking up on us, while still handling the pick up orders. Everyone wore masks and there's a hand sanitizer bottle on the table with the menus. On to the food!! We came in just in time for the lunch specials, which for $7.95 (cheaper if you choose different choice of meat) is a total steal. With your entree you get a small appetizer as well (spring roll, Thai dumpling/shu mai, salad or soup). My mom loves fish so we ordered THREE fried fish filet lunch specials -- with garlic, basil, and tamarind sauce. My absolute favorite one was the basil sauce. All of them came out super crispy and coated with the perfect amount of sauce. Each of the different sauces came with different veggies to pair with the sauce. We also had an order of pad Kee mao (aka drunken noodle) with shrimp which was absolutely fantastic. Just let your server know how spicy you want it! We ordered it spicy, so we had to order a Thai iced coffee for my boyfriend to combat the spice. We were absolutely STUFFED by the end of the meal but of course there's always room for dessert. Fried banana (same wrapper used for spring rolls) and ice cream, very good way to end a meal. Highly recommend for lunch -- food is amazing and authentic, and for the price I'd come here everyday if I lived closer!!

#YelpBigNightIn 2.0 for sure! In a time like this there is nothing better than supporting my hometown local businesses. For the Elite #YelpBigNightIn I have always thought it best to either try a location that I either haven't tried or revisit one I haven't in sometime. That led me to today's [5.30.20] selection of Centre Thai Bistro! For over a decade that I have lived here in East Rockaway this location has been a true fixture on Atlantic Avenue. Even before living in town, I remember as a teen living uptown, many adults raving how this location was the best Thai cuisine they have ever had. With that being said I have popped in a couple times and my favorite item to select is any of their Duck dishes. I guess I consider them my Duck fix! This time during a time of isolationism due to COVID19 and this location doing everything they can to survive like the rest of us, to be normal in a time of not so normal, I decided after a masked beach walk and back to try their Sweetie Salmon dinner special. I figured a dinner special item would be there freshest of inventory and indeed it was. They supplied a very hardy portion swimming in tasty thai teriyaki ginger sauce. Absolutely delicious and very worthwhile to select again in the future from them. It came along with fresh sauteed mixed vegetables and even white rice. The veggies were nicely cooked and had this slight smokey, grill top taste and feel. Talk about a nice compliment to the tangy teriyaki ginger flavors exploding in your mouth when put all together. This location is similarly spaced to say one of those boutique style NYC restaurants, where the space is small but the food is grand. The interior decor has some traditional elements but also a one of a kind mural. I know that even when things get back to whatever our new normal becomes it's not going to be easy for everyone to socially distance, but don't get discouraged as their takeout is just as tasty and filling. I say if there isn't enough space to safely sit there, bring it home or down the block to the park and eat it in the open fresh air.

Amazing time! I had the Masaman curry with pork and white rice which was super good. My friend had the fried tofu and the thai spring rolls and she loved them both. Service was great, loved the servers bright pink hair! The atmosphere was very homey and comfortable. We would definitely come back here.

Excellent service, food and drinks. Duetorri Pinot Grigio has an earthy citrus nose. Tastes like pear, citrus and leather. More complex than the typical Grigio. Only $22 for the bottle. House glasses are $6 per glass. Duck Basil, Flounder Garlic Ginger, Lime Shrimp Salad was so good. We encountered a neighbor who swears by this place.

Not a satisfactory experience AT ALL. First up the calamari was disgusting and too big. I told them I didn't like and was charged for it anyway. Second, the waitress had give 0 Fs aura which was confirmed when she bought me the lunch special appetizer. Third, I ordered the worst Pad See Ew I've every tasted. The basically just added salt and brown sugar. Disgusting. The reason for 1 star: Ice coffee was good as was the price. Moral of the story - don't try news places when you are hungry.

    Red snapper with tamarind sauce

5 stars for this one. Their pad thai is exceptional. Pad krow basil beef is also wonderful. Red snapper gobbled down to the head. Eat and be merry! Wonderful food experience.

    Pad see ew

Experience: I've been coming to Centre Thai Bistro for over 2 years now. The first time I came here with a group of friends. The few times after, I get lunch specials to go. My favorite lunch dishes from here are their pad-see-ew and Thai fried rice. There are 14 different items to choose from for the lunch special. Each lunch special comes with a choice of a shumai appetizer, spring roll, fried dumpling, thai salad, or soup. I was pleasantly surprised at how good their shumai was when I was given it instead of the dumplings I ordered once. It was my first time having fried shumai. The filling of this shumai is much more flavorful than what i'm used to getting in the Flushing area for breakfast shumai orders. The size of each lunch order is enough to stuff you full! The boxes are large and they fill it to the top. I'd say I got about 3 cups of fried rice in the box I ordered. The chicken wasn't super soft and smooth, but the flavor of the rice was nice and eggy. There were onions and tomatoes too. The bottom had some oil left over, but what kind of takeout doesn't, right? I definitely like the fried rice here more than at Tum Thai. The pad-see-ew has a much stronger flavor compared to the fried rice that I tried. The pad see-ew is saturated in black bean sauce and has eggs with Chinese broccoli (according to their online menu). I can't really tell the difference between soy sauce and black bean sauce, to be honest. I just knew that the flavor was much saltier than the fried rice. So if you like bolder flavors, then perhaps the pad see-ew is right for you. Service here is good whether it be in person or on the phone. Desserts: I remember the fried ice cream here being disappointing. Their mango rice dessert was delicious, though it is a seasonal dessert. Just ask and test your luck! Decoration: The interior of this store isn't huge, but it definitely has more tables than what you'd expect from outside. I'd say there's enough seats for about 20 people in here and there is also a bar area. The inside is a lot of dark stained wood, a dragon painting going all the way across the wall, and a few framed photos.

    That droopy rice!

Centre thai has the best lunch deal in the area, even after a small price hike last year. They offer up a choice of various curries, pad thai, pad see ew and a light (my favorite health conscious item) bangkok delight! You also get an entire appetizer to gorge yourself like a fat kid on as well. I BARELY ever finish my meal, even after omitting some rice. I've tried some entrees after the lunch rush as well. The peanut chicken was absolutely delightful, especially for folks who don't eat much thai cuisine (not me, just sayin'). Additionally, the BBQ chicken with papaya salad and sticky rice was simply prepared but phenomenal. Again, I struggled to finish this dish too and needed to take half home. For $12, you're not going to get a better meal round these parts. Majority of their business is takeout, but dont let that stop you from enjoying their cozy, artistically decorated interior. It's small, but you're not going to notice. Despite a severe lack of check ins, I can attest to the fact that I've been coming here for the better part of 5 years. I admittedly avoided this spot for a while... The lady who worked during the daytime and would take my order was rude, rude, rude! She's gone, hopefully to a land far far away because the remaining staff has been nothing but cordial and sweet as thai iced tea. My biggest complaints are that they're super inconsistent with spice levels, some dishes come out way oily and their delivery was ridiculously slow the two times I used it. Still despite my minor quips, I will happily shove food in my face here again and again.

Thai iced tea and iced coffee

Solid restaurant. The food is pretty good but nothing too different from any other Thai restaurant that I've been to. We started with two orders of the curry puffs. My mom and brother both got soups (tom yum, one with beef and one with shrimp) and they both enjoyed it. For a soup, it was also a decent portion. For dinner we got the duck basil, fried rice with chicken, and drunken noodles. All were good and reasonably priced. We tried the Thai iced tea and iced coffee. Both were extremely sweet and creamy - wouldn't order it again. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I also mentioned my food allergies and asked her to make sure the fried rice didn't have any trace of seafood or nuts in it. The cook personally came out to speak with me about this and said they normally use a fish sauce and wanted to warn me that the rice wouldn't taste the way it normally does. She also inquired about if I had any of their other dishes before. I really appreciated her concern, because that's not something you see often. Overall, we had a nice experience and a good meal. I recommend it to those who enjoy Thai food.

I ordered Pad Thai asking for it to be somewhat spicy and spice was added perfectly for my taste. The curry with mock duck was very spicy. (We all enjoyed it though.) I think the spice was infused in the mock duck. Some folks may want to ask that to be mild. For desert we had the coconut ice cream and all loved it. I asked about it and learned the chef makes it. It's not often I ask to pass my compliments to the chef; this was one time I did with emphasis! We were having an early lunch. I think we were quite lucky to sit so quickly.

While some reviews are mixed, I can confidently stand behind all the positive ones. I haven't tried the entire menu--I'm more of a "find something I love and stick with it" kind of diner--but what I've had has been outstanding. The Pad Kee Mao is absolutely packed with flavor. The noodles are perfectly chewy, and the vegetables and tofu are fresh and well-prepared. The Larb is another standout--tangy, spicy, and full of herbs. Just a heads-up: it doesn't automatically come with rice, but for just $2 more, you can (and should) add it on. The rice pairs perfectly with the dish. Veggie rolls are cold, crisp, and super fresh, and the peanut sauce they come with is delicious. The satay might be the best I've ever had--juicy, tender, and not dried out at all. The staff here are wonderful--the owner and employees work seamlessly together and go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. The restaurant is clean and airy, especially when they open the doors for a nice breeze. They also have a full bar, though I've only paired my meals with a good beer so far (a great match for the heat in the dishes). Bonus points for the ceiling light fixtures--they're stylish and add to the warm atmosphere. If you find yourself in Long Beach, do yourself a favor and stop by. I can't wait to go back.
