Van does a fantastic job! I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. She started with the pedicure. Nice warm water and the chair that give a massage. It's the best I have never wanted to fall asleep while getting a pedicure this time I had trouble keeping awake that chair was incredibly comfortable. She has the best a large assortment of colors to choose from. It was hard to make my decision based on all of those pretty colors! Next she did my fingernails, she asks good questions to get to know you. She actually shows an interest in each customer! No feeling like a number here! I can't wait to go back! Ok so I have to post this review because it's been 22 years since I've lived here in Oceanside and I can honestly admit I've been to at least a hundred nail shops/spas and I've really had some great experiences and unfortunately not so great experiences (such is life). But I got off yesterday (sorry yes this is a late post) and I took a different route home than usual and I knew I had wanted to get a mani/pedi and didn't really have a "regular" spot I usually go to c BUT LET ME TELL YOU...... I stumbled across this amazing hidden gem! My pedi was the best I've ever gotten! Hands down! My feet are super ticklish so it's tough when they wanna file the bottom of your feet, it's usually uncomfortable. Anyways, I was getting my mani and pedi at the same time and let me tell you - these women have hands from heaven! My feet felt amazing and they were so nice. I love this nail shop! Randomly came across this place while getting gas at a station in the same shopping area. So far this is my third time coming and every single time I was a very satisfied customer. The ladies that work here are super sweet and very thorough-definitely a plus. I usually have to point things out in case of a polish smudge or something wrong but not so much here. I've had a different lady each time and they were all good at what they do. I'd recommend going to Van because if you're in a hurry like I am usually she's quick and gets the job done perfectly. She's also such a nice lady and what's cool is that she's been doing nails for 21 years. Prices are pretty standard. They do waxing here-haven't experienced that yet. I do not trust people with my eyebrows but Van is my new go-to girl! She's really nice and gentle and left my eyebrows feeling amazing. (I usually have a reaction to the wax but this was the first time my brows aren't red as hell.) she charges 10$ and I tipped her 5 because she's awesome. They only take cash but they have an ATM machine that only charges a dollar to use. I had a hard time finding the place but it's right next to PetCo and TacoBell. read more

I paid 40 bucks for THIS. I was very polite and kept asking her to clean it up..but eventually gave up. Normally, I wouldn't pay for something I didn't want but I just wanted to leave. NEVER GO HERE!! save your money and do your research. Your fingers and toes will thank you later. I usually love going here and going to Rosie. I have no idea what the lady's name was who did my nails but holy hell, I've gone to her twice and she's messed my nails up both times. For one all the tools she used were marked as "soiled tools" and the cuticle clippers that had been used got unfolded out of a dirty rag and yes I even asked if they were clean and she blatantly ignored me. I had a crack in my nail and I let her know but instead of gently removing the acrylic she tried to tear it off in one go, then proceeded to rip the other half of my natural nail off, so close to my nail bed that it almost bled. Also I didn't get to was my hands throughout the entire fill my nails were "cleaned" with acetone, she then put cuticle oil on my fingers and had me wash my hands. I honest to god don't think she was a licensed nail technician. I will not be going there again. read more

This was probably my worst experience ever in nail salons. I went in to get my acrylics removed & a manicure. My natural nails had grown from my acrylics & she cut them halfway. I didn't have my nails soak in anything prior to them being taken off but rather cut & taken off by force with a new acrylic nail. As she proceeded to conduct my manicure it probably took 10 mins max. I still have the glue on my nails from my acrylics. She only took off my cuticles but my nails were still dirty on the sides. She applied the nail polish so careless. I paid $25 for something I could've done better at home. read more

The massage lasted about 30 seconds and not to mention my manicure took about 8 minutes. Then she moved me to the pedicure seats and finished my pedicure so fast! Van, the owner, is friendly. The staff is nice. The place is clean. Unlike what previous posts have said, they do NOT use resealable bags for their tools. They rip open the bag for the sanitized tools and throw away the bag. For a regular mani/pedi, the service is good. DESIGNS SUCK! The picture says a lot. I could have done a better job. This was the worst pedicure I've ever received and I've been getting pedicures for 35 years. First and foremost, she pushed so hard on the cuticle on one of my big toes it started bleeding. The color on my toes is so uneven. Also, literally she scrubbed the bottom of my feet for less than five seconds. She massaged my legs for maybe 30 to 40 seconds. Then when I got home and checked my toes more closely I noticed there's polish in the cuticles and the toenails are cut uneven it's shaped so bad. To make matters worse, the pedicure was $40 at least $10 more than I would pay at any other salon. read more

THE GOOD: I liked their friendliness. The place was neat and clean. The manicurists seemed happy to be there. They had lots of gel colors from which to choose. All these initial impressions gave me reason to set pretty decent expectations. THE BAD: I had a gel mani-pedi, which was ok but not great. I had bubbles in spots, and very thin color in spots (where I could see through the gel.) It wasn't great, but I figured I could live with it. First world problem, after all. I've lived from coast to coast and Century Nails (Van) has thee best Nail Salon I've been to yet. I don't understand why customers are complaining about not having to sit around for amazing service. I like to go in, get my nails done and get out! If you want to go to sit around for hours and relax, go to a day spa. Just like every other amazing spa, its going to be busy, and yes they are going to try and get you done quickly. I admire and love that they can do such an amazing job in such a short period of time. You can go to your other non-busy spas and sit around for hours and get your mediocre service. I've been coming here for years now and absolutely love this place and its employees. Took my Aunt! Van was slamming things around because 2 customers walked in. I am sorry the Sign said open. It was hard enough to get my 86 year old Aunt to go so I stayed!!! The Sister did an Awesome job on my Aunt. I had the young girl, she took her time and did OK, because the Polish chipped in a couple of days!!! So I thought it would be my go to nail place!!! So I went today, forcing my BFF to get her nails done. No one told us that they only service their own Clients!!! Outsiders are not welcome!!! That's how you feel when they greet everyone that walks in after you, but not you!!! The Sister is nice, and that is the only reason I gave 1 star!!! I guess I will drive across town to the nice people. I only tried them because a friend of mine goes there regularly. You should post a sign with the protocol for getting your nails done! The lady didn't say one word to me during my pedicure and when she finished, she left me sitting there without assisting a very much pregnant woman to put on her sandals. I somehow always manage to come back! I have been going to Century Nails for the past 5 years and never had a bad experience, even when they're super busy. I moved to San Clemente last year and tried places in my area but still end up coming back. Ms Van and Ms Kathy always do a fabulous job on my eyebrows. They both are very precise and careful with their work, always so in tune with what they are doing, yet still able to carry on a conversation with you. They always take care of their clients here and make them feel relaxed. The only downfall here is sometimes they are under staffed and way too busy, but it's worth the wait! Plus, the staff works really great together, sometimes even working on multiple clients so no one is ever waiting too long. I also wished they'd move to San Clemente! I highly reccomend this place. It's very clean and the moment you walk in and walk out, you're always being acknowledged. read more
