I visited Cinemark Century Park Lane 16 and XD in Reno, NV [2040 Century Way] on Sunday, 05/10/26, around 9 PM. I desired to see the movie, Michael, and the showtime was scheduled to start at 9:10 PM in Auditorium #9. PROS: * I opted for the XD Luxury Lounger D-Box experience. The immersive D-BOX motion seating combined physical motion and cinematic immersion through synchronized motion. That is, the chair was precisely synced with the on-screen action to simulate vibrations, bumps, and movements. I was amazed as it felt like I was actually dancing with the actors throughout the entire Michael movie. The seat was about $25, and it was worth every penny. * Parking was ample and accessible - located directly behind the theatre * Staff members were helpful and kind, from the ticket counter to the food counter * The building was nicely spacious * The availability of snacks was decent CON: * The movie theatre presented a messy environment. The overall cleanliness was beyond lacking, with the food/beverage counters and carpeted floors being unkempt and dirty. Whereas I truly had a spectacular time with the viewing of the Michael movie with the inclusion of the unforgettable D-BOX motion seat, this Cinemark location should prioritize cleanliness a little better between shows. I'd return to this theater in the future whenever I'm in the Reno, NV area again. read more

This was my first visit back here since their remodel. I was impressed with what they have done in this neighborhood. My high-school friends and I would frequent this location as teenagers. The front got a major facelift, but the lobby and concessions stand were as I remembered it years ago. The parking lot in the front is no longer available and the lot in the back is still the same awkward design it was years ago. My kids giggled that my stories of this area were two decades old. Writing that out makes me feel old. Lol The kid checking us out at concessions barely acknowledged us and kept stocking candy near us while we stood there waiting to pay, so we could get to our movie. My kids and I came here to catch, The devil wears Prada 2 matinee yesterday. I watched the original 20 years ago in the Century theater riverside. We enjoyed the movie, the new seats felt more narrow than we're used to, but it was nice to recline our seats here. My kids enjoyed their snacks, I wish they sold a protein shake or a healthier alternatives since they sell Fairlife chocolate milk here. I just had my $7 smart microplastics. The restrooms and trash bins could use some T.L.C. Besides the minor set back with your cashier, we enjoyed our time here. read more

This review is for the Togo popcorn. Sometimes after a movie we get the Togo bag with extra "butter" packets. It's always fresh and warm. Friendly people, and a fantastic value of popcorn for money. Haven't been to the movies often, since Covid. I was surprised at the renovations. Reclining seats and food trays with cup holder .. nice feature. Not much to say. It's a typical movie theater .. although since they built RED, it's a little tricky to find the parking lot. Not impossible. Definitely will go again if they every make movies I actually want to see. This was our first time here. Loved the comfy seats with recliners, could have used some better maintenance in the woman bathrooms due to lack of toilet paper and toilet seat covers but it was also a busy day with tons of people coming and going. My favorite the whole night was the warm and delicious popcorn. I bought a Diet Coke and a xl popcorn and my total was $17. Although I thought the popcorn was worth it and a good deal because it came with refills and was about $11, the soda was outrageous in my opinion at $7 for a small bottled soda. I will say the movie was great and the sound was clear. The employees were kind and helpful when helping find where our movie would be. This theatre is also located in a nice area of town and feels safe walking to and from your car even though the parking lot was a bit far from the main entrance. read more

I came to this movie theater with a bunch of friends to watch Five Nights at Freddy's 2. The employees were all very friendly and kind to us! It was very welcoming and made it feel very welcoming! One employee in particular, I wish I got his name, was extremely friendly, constantly chatting with my friends and I, making us laugh and really enjoy our wait before the movie! I got my food and popcorn for the movie, and while the popcorn was great, the grilled cheese sandwich I ordered was pretty below average and not very good. The break was incredibly dry and chewy and the cheese was not very tasty. Very disappointing. The seats in the theater room were very comfortable and the room was nicely dimmed for the movie! Overall it was a pretty nice experience. Minus that terrible sandwich, everything else was good and enjoyable! I definitely do recommend this movie theater, just stay away from the grilled cheese sandwich. read more

This Memorial Day holiday proved to be a very movie-centric weekend; I, once again, found myself back at Century Parklane 16 to see the new Guy Ritchie film starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González, "In the Grey" . I intentionally chose the early morning show to avoid the crowds and get the auditorium (mostly) to myself. The theater was still opening up, there wasn't an attendant at the ticket counter initially and the concession stand didn't have the kettlecorn ready yet, so I had to be content with just a hot dog and a Cherry Vanilla Coke Zero. When I walked to the auditorium, there was a couple already waiting for the film and another couple walked after me; so, as I've predicted, I nearly had the whole auditorium to myself. My interaction with the staff was limited; I just briefly spoke with the ticket agent and the concession cashier. Overall, my movie-going experience was great, I'm beginning to really enjoy watching films by myself. read more

We watched Wicked For Good last night (11/19/2025) and had an awesome time! The theater was very clean and well-maintained which made the whole experience even better. We ordered our popcorn through mobile pickup and it was ready right away and was super easy and convenient. We didn't interact much with the staff, but the two team members we did speak with (one at the entrance checking tickets and one directing us to the theater) were polite and helpful. Watched Jurrasic World-Rebirth in D-Box seating. I loved it!!! The seats are super comfy and move and vibrate in sync with the on-screen action. You can also adjust the intensity of the motion and vibration. I chose the highest intensity and it felt so real, I practically jumped out of my seat a few times. Also, the distance from your neighbor is quite nice and the seats are wider than the regular seats. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because of the price, at $25 each. So was it worth it? Definitely yes, for an action-packed blockbuster movie. Kudos to the staff for fresh-tasting Kettle Corn!! read more

A lot has changed since my review from 10+ years ago. It is now spacious and open with ticket sales inside. There is also an option to purchase tickets online. The theater is now surrounded by high rise buildings with a bit of a maze to get near the front entrance. There is still a lot of free parking available. It has also been a long time since I last went to a movie theater pre-Covid. Prices for tickets have gone up - $7.75 for Senior tickets. The food was overpriced for the quality. A bottle of water and a small popcorn was 12.99. I will say it was a large bottle and a good sized bag of popcorn. The popcorn was not very good. The "butter" did not taste at all buttery. More like cooking oil that had be reheated way too often. You get to pick where you want to sit which is nice, but not as pertinent on a midday weekday. I think there were maybe 15 people in the theater. The recliner seating was very comfortable and the view of the screen was very good. The 45 minutes of ads and previews was a bit much. Next time I will need to remember to come later. Bathrooms were clean and overall, it looked well maintained. read more

Quality/Quantity - Came here for a preview movie event and brought our friends. The event was so successful that the host ended up ordering 3 whole theaters, congrats. Was told that it is fairly easy to rent out more theaters, etc. Atmosphere - Due to us hosting our guest, I was only able to take minimum pictures. Consistent brand. With today's affordable big screen TV and 7.1 surround sound at home, I come to the theaters less and less. I like the fact that the theater size is not too big, but not too small. The chairs are comfortable, with the exception that we got assigned front row seats. Big cushion back supports reclining chairs. Too bad no one cleaned between shows... I cleaned all our seats for us and our guests. Easy in and out of the theater, concessions, theater, restroom, etc. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Theater self service. The concession service was quick and smooth. Price - Theater prices. So expect to pay. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1941 and with your LONG interesting history. Here is a very short summary. 1941 - Syufy Enterprises, Vallejo CA. 1964 - First Century 21 Theater in San Jose, CA. 2006 - Cinemark Theatres. 2009 - Cinemark XD, their version of IMAX. 2018 - THX sound. read more

With all the new updates this place is our FAVORITE to see all the new movies. Always has seats available but full enough to get the movie time experience. The people who layer the popcorn butter always know what is best! If you are going to watch a movie with lots of action I absolutely recommend the moving seats. It makes the experience 10x better! What I love most about this theater is the good condition of the heated, reclining seats and the low wall divisions between rows, which means you won't get closer to your neighbors than you want. Very comfortable, and also has a rotating tray for snacks, although it did get a tiny bit in the way when fully reclined (the chairs slide down). I usually bring a blanket to movies, but haven't needed it in the times I've visited because of the heated seats and the not overly cold room temp. We bought our tickets and popcorn online, and the popcorn was ready for pick-up (closed in a bag) when we arrived....no lines! Everything (bathrooms, seats) were pretty clean for a theater. Also nice that they have discounted seats on Tuesdays, including the D-box seats. Tip: the D-box seats are limited to certain rows in the theater closer to the front, but are fun if you have a movie with a lot of action scenes. A few downsides: the entrance is facing the apartments' central courtyard, so parking is in the back of the theater. The walk isn't far, but it's a bit confusing the first time you visit. There's an online service fee per ticket, even if you belong to their free rewards club (it's free only if you buy the paid membership). When you arrive, you have to wait in a line to print tickets even if you've bought online and have a QR code (this I don't get at all). The seats could be spaced a bit further apart, which I found especially noticeable when the seat was fully reclined (or maybe that's just b/c a person next to me was wearing A LOT of cologne). All in all, more upsides than down, lots of convenient options and amenities, and definitely a theater to visit. read more

Three stars to reflect the fact that the theater we were in was absolutely filthy, but I can see the potential. We visited on Thanksgiving evening, so perhaps they didn't have enough staff on hand. However, when we entered our theater the seats were greasy and covered in popcorn as was the floor, which was also sticky from spilled sodas. And looking around, it wasn't just our row that was like this, it was obvious that the theater hadn't been cleaned at all. My son even went to the lobby to let them know it was very messy inside and could they please come clean it up, but no one came to take care of it. Really a shame too because the seats are comfortable and the projection and sound was good. It was Thanksgiving day, so I am going to assume they were short staffed and give them some leeway. We will come back another time to see if this was just a one-off bad experience in terms of cleanliness and basic theater hygiene. Note to management: you have a nice facility here, I would hate to see us lose this venue. Please ensure you take care of the physical space and have enough staff on hand to perform basic theater maintenance. read more

They only have refill on the xl popcorn and they put the butter on which is annoying because I love butter and halfway down u have to get up to get more from the concession line. The DBox seats were phenomenal, $23 but the recline and they're heated!!! Don't forget to turn it up once the movie starts to top notch. Cinemark Park Lane 16 has upped their game! Admittedly, if I would have written this review last year it may have been 3-4 stars, but since the new Red Experience District has been built in the surrounding area, Cinemark has matched and upgraded their theaters, seating, and food options! The seats are now assigned, automatically recline, are extra padded, with built in tray tables, and even have a heated seat feature! My wife and I have been longtime Movie Rewards members for the value but would go to other theaters for big time releases, but now Cinemark offers both value and the luxury that other competitors don't. It's our new favorite spot to watch new films and is right across the way from the Reno Public Market for dinner or ice cream afterwards! read more

After being ripped off at Century Parklane on discount Tuesday for a movie, we along with numerous others will no longer be going to Century/Cinemark theaters. We will be going to Galaxy Theaters for discount Tuesday of $6.00 flat for a movie. While we aren't totally wild about Galaxy at least they aren't ripping you off on a discount price. What should have been a $13.00 purchase for 2 discount Tuesday tickets at Century was $17.50 and they justified themselves for the price. And like others we've talked to they have gotten the last money from us. There were exactly 6 of us in the movie!!! Also the new lights in the theaters during the movie are annoying and not needed. Lilo & Stitch and Ballerina was playing here. This isn't my usual spot for movies; however my kids prefer this over others. Parking is behind the theaters which is not well lit also pretty secluded area. I don't recommend females going alone; ensure you have friends meet up at the same time. Theater chairs recline however bends at knee and trays are set kind of far hard to reach. Bathrooms weren't clean the two times I went. However the three staff members I did encounter were pleasant and helpful. ( unfortunately I neglected to notate their names. ) Also management needs to rope off the arcade area. When we entered (appr 10pm) 5 boys with hoodies on walked around the ropes straight to the arcade. Cashier busy servicing someone else. I don't doubt these kids are gonna attempt to go use the restrooms then sneak into the movies for free. Ok spot for movies but I prefer Legends Mall - better parking and seating. read more

I saw a movie here on Sunday late evening and it was pretty busy. I was considering getting food, but the line was so long I decided against it. The chairs have a tray table and they recline which is nice, but the legs don't move much which is kinda weird. They showed trailers for longer than normal before the movie. Newly renovated! We did pay a bit extra to have nicer reclining (and heated!) seats. The way the concession works is different but I liked it! You walk through an isle like concession and grab what you need. If you want popcorn or hot food items an employee will get it for you. At the end of the line you pay and go into the theatre. Everyone was really nice and there was a security guard. The biggest downfall I found was parking. It's at the back of the theatre and you have to walk to the front as there are apartments at the entrance. read more

If you didn't know, the Cinemark Century Park Lane movie theaters have been remodeled and they look great. Go and check them out. The only reason why I don't give them a 5 star is because the food and drink prices are way too high. That half bottle of wine you see here cost me about 20 bucks. My favorite full bottles of wine cost less than $10 at CVS, and CVS is expensive. Cinemark, lower your food and drink prices and you'll get more people at your theaters. read more

6/14/25 I haven't been to the Century 26 theater in over a year. They have renovated and put in new tile, carpet, bathroom stalls, paint and reclining seats. I saw the new Mission Impossible movie today and although it was very long...it was full of excitement. I preordered my ticket, popcorn and drink which was waiting for me at the time requested. I'm still using a Walker or cane and only found it difficult at entrance, theaters and bathroom doors. There are no handicap buttons to open doors. There is no delivery of concession items to your seat any longer. Fortunately there are very helpful neighbors who were there to assist with a couple doors. The senior ticket price jumped from $5.25 to $7.50 which I felt was still reasonable for all the theater upgrades. I give it 3 stars out of 5 today read more

We came here yesterday for the first time since all the surrounding construction work has been mostly completed. I said mostly because there was yellow tape blocking the entrance area (it looked like maybe they were about to pour concrete walkways) so we had to walk around it all to get to the ticket sales door. Maybe it was because of the construction but it was pretty empty once we got inside. When we walked into the theater that was playing the movie we went to see, the ads were running. The volume of the audio was earsplittingly loud! So much so that my husband left and told me to text once the movie was starting. Then another couple left and never came back! There is no need to have the ads and previews running so loudly! When the movie finally started several minutes later, it was noticeably quieter. The other thing we noticed was how uncomfortable the seats are compared to other movie theaters in town. Overall, while it was interesting to see the new surroundings, unless they change some things we would rather go elsewhere to see a movie. read more

This is definitely not the locations fault but 35 mins of ads and trailers is too much. I guess it is hard to compete with so many streaming services that maybe movie theaters are struggling but it's unreasonable. The reclining seats are odd, the back reclines a lot but the leg portion never flattens so depending on how tall you are and your body shape it can be awkward. They have built so much around the theater that parking is in the back and on the side which is fine but the lot needs better lighting for safety and security. read more

Wow - I haven't been to Century Park Lane in a while i guess, the new updated seats are superior to any theater in town! The reclining feature puts you into a very comfortable position. Of note, I didn't know that they were heated and accidentally pushed the button apparently...omg I got sooo toasty and was also soo confused at first. I think this is the first movie experience I've had in a long time where I wasn't cold! Very enjoyable. Everything was well maintained and clean. I visited a movie theater recently, and it was quite disappointing. The entire place was in a messy state with dirty floors and aisles filled with junk. It seemed like the place hadn't been cleaned all day. Despite going for a 6:30 pm showing, the staff was unhelpful, and there was a long line at the concession area with only one person assisting. I saw a movie with a friend today and decided to go here because of their recent remodel. The concession stand was clean and did the trick. The new luxury seats were comfortable and pleasant. I usually like cooler temperatures, but this was ridiculous. Inside the theater, it was unbelievably cold! I wore a thick shirt and sweater along with my jacket. It was 38 degrees outside when we entered the movie. The theater hallway was warmer than the interior theater. I asked one of the employees about it and was told sorry, the heater was broken. So you're okay taking my money but can't spend money on the theater heating system? The kicker here is the luxury seats had a "heat" function that didn't heat anything. I won't be back. read more

The remodeled and I wanted to love it. We normally go to the one in South Reno but we thought we'd give this a try. The new recliners are not great. They are so narrow and I'm not even a heavier set person. They don't let your feet go out. And there's no neck rest either and that really sucks. The heated seat is nice but that's about it. I used to go to this theater all the time since its super close to my house. About a month and half ago I went and halfway through the movie a man jumps out of his sit claiming he saw a rat. I immediately left bc I have a phobia. A few weeks later I convinced myself that he was probably just seeing things due to the dark. I went last week and as I was coming back from the bathroom, what do I see underneath my seat???? A little ratatouille just staring at me. Hadn't been to this theatre in a few years and was surprised. The theatre was half dark, with a "closed for business" feel. It was a weekday matinee, and staffing was at a minum. I had chosen this theatre because tickets were $5.00 less expensive than the Century Theatre in South Reno, and by the looks of Park Lane, I could see why. The servers and cashier were very nice and with $5.00 tickets, it lessened the "sting" of the cost of popcorn and water. The seats were small with no room, except on the floor or your lap, to plce the tub of popcorn. Floors were dirty and in need of sweeping. The movie screen was fine and this theatre had a good selection of current and popular movies. I was cornerned with the kids trying to sneak in through the side doors, but who in their youth, didn't sneak into the movies? If I'll return here, probably. But there is a much nicer movie theatre closer to home and worth the extra $$. read more
