I passed this place while doing an Uber ride. Pulling up you'll think the place is empty but once you enter you'll be surprised by the colors inside. They're beautiful and the line area is nice. Greeted, order taken we sat and waited while speaking with the other customers. The way my taste buds got excited with each bite I wanted to let others know about this place immediately. I was told the jerk chicken was just as delicious as my jerk burger. I will be back!!!

    Small oxtail

Authentic Jamaican cuisine, friendly staff and ambiance is on point, the Jamaican vibe. Awesome oxtails and jerk chicken.

Great food and price for the (M) serving size. There is plenty to take home for another serving.

I just want to say first and foremost that if you are looking for a quick, clean and fairly quiet…read moreplace to eat along Dunn Avenue, this is a good option. Located in the fully renovated space that was once Country Cabin, this Charley's is the same franchise that many may be familiar with from mall food courts, like at The Avenues or Orange Park Mall. Back in the day I used to mystery shop and was assigned Charley's almost every month. As an independent contractor I would accept the jobs because it didn't take me anymore than an hour to fill out the report after the visit, and we would get 2 free combos, so a free meal. The math worked at the time. It didn't take long before my family just weren't interested in going with me anymore and my experience here reminded me why. This place is clean and well maintained. It is brightly lit and is most definitely not cluttered. When I visited service was professional, although I wouldn't say friendly. For Dunn Avenue, this is actually about as good as it gets. I decided to visit because they are a fairly new restaurant in this area and I had a buy one get one free coupon, so I'll take the risk considering my last experiences with the brand. I really was hoping that this wasn't the same experience that I had in days past. Unfortunately, the problem never really was with the staff. They always seemed to be focused on their job, but not necessarily oozing positivity like a cruise director. A smile would be nice. It wasn't cleanliness or maintenance. For me, the food is the issue here. Specifically the cheese steak. If you've ever had Steak-umm, you'll know what I'm talking about. The meat is pre-sliced, pre-portioned and frozen in individual serving size packages. They simply take the meat out of these frozen packages, put the frozen block on the griddle and put some steam on it to thaw it out and then it cooks. It tastes exactly like frozen steamed meat cooked this way would. And then, there's just no flavor from seasoning to cover the almost gamey flavor or steamed frozen meat. The meat is just plain meat with no seasoning whatsoever. And you would think having two cheese sauces would really add a lot of flavor, but both the orange and white cheese sauces were both quite sparse and flavorless. For me, unfortunately this remains food court food. I don't understand how this is a standalone restaurant. Not a thing that I've ever had on the menu has ever stood out to me. There's not a thing that I would crave. Not a thing that I would return for. Not a thing that I have ever really enjoyed. And for someone like me who really enjoys food of all kinds, it really says something when I would just rather not. Sure, it's clean and it's edible, both uncommon for Dunn Ave, but it's also not cheap and without flavor. Wish I could say differently as I would love another place close by home as an option to eat. I also want to say my rating is based on overall experice where food is not the most important factor.

Food was ok. Service was terrible. The cashier just stood at the other register. No "ill take u…read moredown here" or "how can I help u?" Literally he stood, stared, and hit buttons. There was NO ONE there- which makes sense in hindsight. But my sister and I tried to be overly nice thinking maybe he was having a bad day. Tried to joke, used "please" and "thank u so much." Not even a "ur welcome." They only got the 2 stars cause the steak sandwich was good. I wanted to give ZERO. Had to add salt and ketchup for flavor, but I like that it had all the fixings. I will NEVER be back to that location, as I'm sure residents around there already decided- evident in the lack of customers. They even had the door by the handicap locked. We had to go through another door. We thought they were closed at first. Only after seeing a worker walk around realized they were open and used the side door. No apology or recognition of that either. Especially since I was literally with my handicap sister. Wild to be treated like we inconvenienced a worker by going to THIER job.

All I can say is wow. This location of Popeyes, as well as, all the other Jacksonville locations…read morethat I've been to are terrible. We stopped going to a couple other locations because of the bad food and bad service. After many attempts you just can't justify it. This location was convenient so we placed a mobile order so hopefully it wouldn't get messed up. We go through drive-thru to pick it up and have to wait. You would think by waiting it would all be fresh and hot and the order correct. Nope. We paid for a 9 piece and paid to upgrade to all white meat. Also the 9 piece comes with a large side. We paid to add two additional large sides. So we should have gotten all white meat 9 piece and 3 large sides. After we left and got home, we realized they just threw together whatever they had left. We got one breast and 8 wings. All old cold chicken. Also, we got 2 large sides we added but the one that came with the meal they gave us a small. So we immediately called the location and asked for the manager. They layed the phone down on the counter and never came back. We could hear it all in the background. We tried calling back but never another answer. We called the next day and the lady manager made it our fault every way possible despite my receipt being correct and then put us off to contact corp. After a couple emails back and forth Popeyes corp will send a message to the store for awareness. Nothing is being done about our order and not getting what we paid for. Popeyes around Jax are notorious for being out of stock and if you ordered via mobile app they cant give you your money back. Corp has to do that. Dont go close to closing which is 3 hours or less because they aren't willing to cook anything else. Terrible terrible business and worse customer service. That was last chance for all Popeyes.

She caught it herself and changed it before charging me. I pay and get my drinks. She asks me to pull up to the red pole because I had to wait for my boneless wings as they're made to order. Fast forward 15 minutes, a guy walks up with 3 bags and I open my window and thank him. My mistake for not checking my order until I got to where I was staying. When I got everything out to feed everyone, I noticed I was missing 3 biscuits, ranch, and my drink was not Dr Pepper it was FOR SURE a root beer! I called to advise them in hopes to be refunded for the items that were missing but their only solution was for me to come back and they give me the items missing. I just drove 25 minutes and was not about to go back. Then they tell me I can come back tomorrow. Like no I do not want to eat your food twice or drive 25 minutes away from where I'm staying to go there again. The guy I talked to acted oblivious to anything to do with the English language and passed the phone to a lady who claimed to be the manager and she stated they don't even sell root beer. They for sure do because I only drink Dr Pepper as a treat for myself every once in a while. I'd know if it was NOT Dr Pepper and I do not like root beer so I'd know if it was. Lol Anyway, they suck and also I almost threw up from a piece of chicken that wasn't all the way cooked. So yea avoid this location. Good and customer service are crap.

First time trying Wing Stop. We got a craving for their chicken sandwich after seeing a commercial…read more We popped up their website which immediately showed us an available special which was 20 boneless wings and fries. So we decided to get that to share and also get two chicken sandwiches. The only choices on the sandwiches was with or without pickles and what kind of sauce They have about 10 different sauces available to choose. We both chose the Cajun. It was very good. They did leave the pickles off of both sandwiches. We wanted pickles! Only one ingredient and they forgot it. For the wings, we chose Cajun, habanero & mango, Korean, and their Louisiana. All were very good. Wing sizing varied greatly. We had some ultra tiny wings and then normal size that you would expect. The fries were fresh cut with some peel on them and seasoned. You get a choice of dipping sauces. We got the blue cheese for the wings and a jalapeño cheese sauce for the fries. Fries were excellent and enhanced by the cheese sauce. We ordered online and then drove over. They were very busy and hadn't even started on our order. The parking lot was a free-for-all with DoorDash drivers parking on sidewalk and wherever. They also seemed to prioritize DoorDash/Uber eats orders over others. It was a pretty long wait with little to no communication about what was going on and the service people not very friendly. All in all good food once you get it and our order was actually correct. We will be giving them another try because the food was good. Maybe we will get pickles next time!!!
