My tattoo experience with Ceora was nothing short of magical. I received a recommendation for her from a good friend and within minutes of our video call, I knew Ceora was meant to be my first tattoo artist. I shared my life story, what I was working on, and the significance of the tattoo. I gave very little feedback on what I wanted it to look like aside from that I wanted it to be light language that went up my spine. I made a whole road trip out of it, driving from Moab to LA...showing up on the full moon. I was nervous but as soon as I met Ceora in person, I felt her radiating light-being energy. Just a ball of love and light. She had this pure, authentic playfulness - it was clear she was passionate about her craft and that this was part of her purpose on earth. I saw her art for the first time and immediately knew it was exactly what I wanted. Throughout our session I had to consciously try to keep still because we laughed so much. Ceora was very gentle and had a cadence to her penmanship that put me in a very relaxed meditative state. This tattoo is so powerful, as it was healing it felt as if I had to go through a process of understanding and accepting its power. About two weeks after, I was sitting in meditation and felt the universal energy enter through my crown chakra, tracing the symbols and igniting their magic. While many people get tattoos to symbolize something that happened in the past or who they are in the present, this tattoo carries healing energy that will support me into the future. I don't understand what many of the symbols mean, but their alchemy is real. I'm so grateful I found Ceora and for her ability to intuit such beautiful and powerful art. Samantha really is a great artist at her style of Tattoo's and how she isn't known more throughout the community is a puzzle to me. Me and the Girlfriend were deciding upon a Geometric tattoo. Despite how many artists there are in the LA Area, the usual wait time is several months, if not close to a year, with the cost of the tattoo to be very high as well... However with Samantha, her wait time from contact was much, much shorter. Prices were not as cheap as some parlors, however the cost reflects the amount of detail that's put into the designs, and with a lifetime commitment, I'd prefer to spend more for alot better detail. I've had two other tattoo's from other artists so this was my first from Samantha, however my Girlfriend decided to take the plunge and receive her first from Samantha, and we can both safely say that we were very glad and fortunate to have stumbled upon her web page. From that first consultation, until the actual appointment when the work is done, the entire vibe and aura of it just feels... Different from what you would normally expect. Working out of her household, it just feels more relaxed. She is more than welcome to do whichever design you would like, and will always input some additional ideas to enhance the message and the symbolism of your choice. Once you actually sit down for the tattoo, the music she has in the background is whichever choice you'd prefer to help with making you more relaxed. During the actual tattoo, I was very surprised because the pain was very reduced from my previous two, and those two were in less sensitive areas. Even my Girlfriend commented on how the pain she felt was alot less than she expected, and her first was on the back of her tricep. Tattoo time was standard for the amount of work that she does, however because you're having conversations and listening to your favorite songs during the tattoo... It's over far sooner than you expect. Both me and the girlfriend were thinking it'd take longer than it actually did, which is very pleasing. Samantha Ceora is a talented artist, she does precise/clean line work, and works with each person to create a permanent body marking according to the individual. Skin moves and stretches, and different skin types react differently to ink; I have 15 total tattoos from different artists and there is always a slight variance from the stencil - that's how skin is. So any reviewer noting slight imperfections is unresonable and unrealistic. Samantha Ceoras line work and accuracy is one of the cleanest and most precise works I've had inked in my body. She is a unique individual with her own methodology. She functions from and intuitive and spiritual place. Some people will match with her and some will *not. She has her own flow, if you connect with her and desire a permanent mark on your body from her then you will need to be in flow with her. She personally drew one unique and magickal talisman specifically designed for me. It is a perfect design for my specific spiritual needs and the line work is fantastic! I am very happy. The other work she did was simple, and easy, and some fill in completion from another artist. All the ink she did for me was excellent! She has also done a healing session on me with heat cupping. I was impressed with her how she found my pain and intuited facilitating my healing. I arrived with an intense pain I had been carrying for 2 weeks, and she removed it completely in one session. However, it was not immediate. I did have to internally process the final healing myself after the session, but all pain was relieved within 8 hours of the cupping session with her. I am eternally grateful!!! Finally, I'd like to make a note of importance: there is not one individual person who is perfect, nor is any business perfect. Do not expect Samantha Ceora to live up to your standards set by society norms. I don't know how she works with anyone but me. What I do know is that you must be willing to be flexible and patient and find a flow *with her. I am so happy with my tattoo that I got over the summer from Ceoraink. This was my second tattoo by her and it was a big piece. I was a little nervous but Sam executed the design perfectly. Although I had a few issues with scheduled appointments with Sam, it was definitely worth the wait because it allowed me to create a concrete vision of what I wanted. I feel that those scheduling issues had to happen and I'm oh so glad they did. There is a comment from K H. I hope people don't use that as leverage to not use Sam. I understand the negative reviews objectively but as a fairly new client of Samantha let me say, she's the best in my opinion and has easily exceeded my expectations. She's got gift of a discerning eye for beauty & balance. She's intuitive, ridiculously talented, passionate, and skilled as hell. I approached Sam back in early April for a design that I've been working on for months as I've drawn out multiple sketches and she was all for it. The first consultation, I gave her a $50 deposit, and we just brainstormed. I left some of my drawings, and met her another time for measurements and left my arrow. Over the course of 2 and a half months, all that she's done was make excuses to postpone collaborations or to get work done. After about a month, she drafted a blown up portion of my drawing and honestly, it was a pretty sloppy. After so many multiple excuses and her unpredictable life situations, I decided that it wasn't going to work out. She mailed my belongings back, but refused to refund me the deposit. It was just bad form of business as she was never really punctual or communicative to lay out the truth and work it out. To me, it just seemed like she entertained the idea, grabbed a new client (maybe more than she could of handled), spend maybe an hour or two of drawing my concept poorly, and kept beating around the bush or postponed in getting the ball rolling. I was more than patient with her and would kindly ask her how I could help in the next step or when I should come in for further collaborations. Bottom line, she wasted a lot of my time and felt robbed to not have any negotiations of refunding any deposit when it was pretty low stress on her end in trade of meeting on her time in her home, and the inadequate amount of effort/work to justify keeping my deposit. I don't question her talent, but how she treated me turned pretty sour. But whatever, lesson learned, risk taken. It seemed like we vibed off well in the start, but she got issues.. read more

Yelp can be tricky, because it is so subjective. But in my case, I believe Yelp is an important forum to share experiences so that others can make informed decisions, especially for something as permanent as a tattoo. I had a tattoo appointment with Samantha on Dec. 1, and against all my better judgment and intuition, I went through with the appointment. I'll explain. Red Flag #1 (Unresponsive) This was my first tattoo. I was on a waiting list for another geometric tattoo artist at Studio City Tattoo for over a year. I was getting antsy and starting looking for another geometric tattoo artist in LA and came across Ceora Ink on Yelp. I got in touch with Samantha and booked the appointment. The Friday before my Monday appointment I tried to get in touch with Samantha to confirm and to ask some questions. I called, emailed and texted. No response. I figured that I didn't have an appointment anymore and I should go back to the drawing board. Finally, late morning of the appointment, Samantha finally confirmed with me, but she wasn't sure what my design way. She thought it was "just a triangle" even though I had provided her with my reference photo via email and text when booking the appointment. I told her I thought her lack of communication was extremely unprofessional and wanted to cancel the appointment. After some back and forth, she eventually apologized and convinced me to come anyway to just talk about the tattoo with "no pressure." Red Flag #2 (Inaccurate) Samantha had my design drawn out when I got there and put the stencil on my skin. The proportions of the tattoo were clearly incorrect. She said it was symmetrical, but after breaking out the ruler, it was clear the proportions were way off. After she re-drew the design and made some other adjustments, we put another stencil on. The design is hard to look at for too long and after it was so glaringly incorrect the first time, I should have just left right then and there. Red Flag $3 (Pushy) Samantha was extremely pushy, telling me that I had waited this long to get the tattoo and that I was ready. She asked what my friends thought; of course my friends were supportive of my tattoo. I should have left with the stencil on, but I took a massive and unfortunate leap of faith. I trusted that Samantha was a skilled enough tattoo artist to accurately replicate the simple geometric tattoo exactly as the reference photo. I was wrong. She did the tattoo... I didn't even look at it until I got home, and when I did, my heart sank. The geometry on the tattoo is noticeably off. I have never in my life experienced feelings of regret and remorse like I did after I got this tattoo. My heart was completely broken. Red Flag #4 (Combative) A few days after the tattoo, I was finally ready to confront Samantha about the mistake. I'll take full responsibility for my part of the mistake - I should have left when I didn't feel comfortable. I measured and measured the tattoo, but I should have just kept the stencil on and looked at it with fresh eyes in the morning. I signed off on a tattoo when I should not have. But Samantha drew the tattoo inaccurately. The fact that my tattoo is not right is partially her fault. Samantha would take no ownership of the mistake; she would not even acknowledge how clearly the symmetry is off, or how it is clearly different from the reference photo. Not only would she take no ownership of the mistake, but she threatened to "take legal action" against me if I wrote anything negative about her business. Her handling of my complaint was rude, unprofessional and downright nasty. Red Flag #5 (Thinks she's a mental health professional) Not only would Samantha admit no wrongdoing and threatened to sue me for writing anything about my experience, she also made bogus claims about my mental state, saying she was some kind of healer. My tattoo was to cover up self-inflicted scars, but the scars, and whatever emotional state they represent, have nothing to do with the facts about this horrible tattoo experience. Samantha is in no way, shape, or form qualified to make any assessment about my mental health. She is not my therapist, she is not my spiritual guide or healer, she is just a woman with a tattoo gun who was unable to accurately replicate the tattoo design that I wanted onto my skin. I went to Sam for a tattoo that I had been wanting for several years, a voodoo veve, an obscure image with some deep personal meaning for me. I had never been able to find an artist that I felt comfortable going to with this type of spiritual sigil. One day though Sam posted on her page a veve that she did on another client and I was right int the door ready to get some work. The image we found together was perfect, and it went on so easily in exactly the right placement. She works quickly, with a soft touch (I even fell asleep during my first session with her). I entrusted Samantha to touch up and expand upon my most cherished tattoo, one I had gotten done with bamboo needle while traveling in Thailand years ago. This was my first tattoo and I was scared shitless - 1. That it wouldn't come out the way I imagined 2. It would look better on the paper than on the skin. I've had all of my tattoos done by this fine lady. Getting your first is a special experience which she made particularly unique. She came to my home to meet me first and discuss what I'd like done. No ' just tell me what you want and I'll do it'. She tried to be very careful to get to know me and my style, and to make sure I made the right decisions. The design we discussed that day was not what I ended up with. Although Ceora did research it took her a while to come up with something. After a while of figuring it out I decided on something else from her online resource of inspirational designs - a symbol. She'd done all this research about it's history, meaning and practice. Because it was an energy symbol she learned how it was applied and even chose the ink that closely matched the colour and style of it. It now looks like something drawn on parchment -with all relevant curves and glides - pretty amazing the thought that went into it. She even applied it the way that it would be in practice. It was a very full experience. She brought her studio to my home. Very clean, professional and quite beautiful. I'll never forget the moment I got that tattoo, which I shared with my friends and boyfriend in the comfort of my home - who can say they had that?? At the time Ceora charged by the hour no matter how big or small the art so I would suggest making sure you get the most out of that hour. My second was a small one so it didn't take too long and she arrived late. Considering she again came out to my home and it felt like you had a friend doing it who you could hang with after I think you can excuse the once off tardiness. Her after care is pretty good as well. She's easily contactable with questions and follows up to make sure it's healing properly and you're looking after it correctly. I've never met anyone who their art as seriously as Ceora. She is an artist and you can tell this work means a lot to her. I'm already planning the next one she can do for me. read more

I'll admit, a 3 1/2 hour session from chest to shoulder was a bit ambitious for my FIRST TATTOO...however Samantha's calm, cool, and caring disposition made the experience exactly what I'd hoped it to be. Her skilled hand, and keen eye for details was beyond what I thought was possible: from the thinnest lines to creating the most perfect circles. When you go to her Studio, you immediately feel like your walking into the space of a TRUE ARTIST...as you should as your body will become a canvas. Sam has revived my previous tattoo into something incredibly amazing. She has a true innate talent and has plenty of experience. When I was describing the kind of work that I wanted to get, she requested that I send her information about myself such that she could research and get a feel of the type of art that I was into. She is great. I have a bad smoke allergy/sensitive to air quality sometimes, so the incense she was burning was rather strong, and was totally cool with putting it out. Second, I have a severe anxiety disorder, and was terrified to get my first tattoo. She was helpful and had an incredibly calming spiritual presence. She specializes in the kind of tattoo I wanted, and I had even been rejected in the past because other artists thought it would be too small and too fine to do. She did it with largely no issues. Pain level on my inner forearm by the crook of my elbow was about a 4/10. Now, for the tattoo itself, I did have some ink seepage and unevenness of thickness on the lines of my triangle surrounding my Tree, and one 3 millimeter line in particular on my 2 inch long Tree of Life is rather crooked. However, as far as seepage this can probably be partially attributed to my aftercare, and the unevenness of the triangle lines can always be cleaned up (though it does give it some imperfect rugged character!). It was fine line work and I was warned there would be some spottiness/ink loss depending on how it healed. She DID offer touch ups for few weeks later depending on how it healed, I just didn't take her up on the offer because of life. Soon though. I also wish I had adjusted my placement over by a centimeter, because my placement makes the sides of the triangle look off due to the curve of my arm, but oh well, first tattoo you live and you learn. It's nearly perfect with a ruler. No biggie. Next time. In short, none of that will stop me from going back to her in the future for tattoos I have in mind. If you look on her instagram, there is no doubt in my mind that she is incredibly talented, and I truly love her work and can't wait to go back for more! If you're looking for a spiritually based tattoo, or something sacred, I would go to her 100%. She specializes in that work and has a deep passion for all of those teachings. She even made sure I knew what the Tree was, and what it represented before getting it tatted. The care she has for the meaning behind her work is something I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else. She made me feel so incredibly at ease, and had great conversation. Samantha is the best, her work is amazing and her ethic is professional. I have had Sam do my last two tattoos' and I will not go to anyone else again. Her tool place of business is tip top friendly fun, and her tools are sterile. I love to run ideas' through her cause not only will she do the work you want, but if you ask for an opinion about the work you are about to have done she will give you an honest answer, and when talking about something that is going to be on your body for life that is very awesome. She does not put a lot of effort into custom work. She is hard to talk to and seems like she wants you out of her home/shop quick.
