I visited this art center for the first time today. It was clean, it was designed well, and it was…read moreinteresting. They had many pieces of interesting paintings that were quite pricey. Additionally, they had things made of wood such as turned bowls and clever utensils. They had some beautiful ornaments, made out of ceramic, I bought one of those. It was $50. They had plates and platters and more things than I can name here. They even had jewelry. It's all handmade and beautiful. I look forward to coming back and buying some Christmas gifts. In addition to the art portion of the business, there is a workshop section where people can go to classes and learn ceramics or painting and other things. The woman who was working was very helpful and kind. I look forward to frequency this gallery regularly.

I came in with zero experience, but they explained everything step-by-step and made the whole process feel approachable. Even when my piece started off a little rough, they helped me turn it into something I was actually proud of. Using the pottery wheel was definitely the highlight. It's a bit challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's incredibly fun and even a little therapeutic. The class was paced perfectly, so I never felt rushed and had plenty of time to practice. The atmosphere was another big plus. Everyone was friendly, and it felt more like a relaxed, creative hangout than a formal class. It made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Glazing the pieces was such a fun final step, and seeing the finished product after firing was so satisfying. I honestly didn't expect to end up with something I'd actually want to keep--but I love it! They recently revamped their website to make pottery pickup more seamless which is a huge plus. There is only a couple parking spots out front but plenty of street parking only a 3 min walk away. It's free and it's one of the earliest arts & crafts shows in the area, so you can get a jump on your holiday shopping. Walking in any of the entrances, you will be greeted by a friendly older lady sitting at an information desk who will be happy to answer any questions and hand you a colorful booklet with maps, listing and locations of vendors, and the church's ministries information. Over 80 vendors' booths fill the large and small rooms of this spacious church. Visitors are guided from one room to the next, along a well defined path. All kinds of vendors fill the rooms; unique jewelry makers, handsewn dresses, aprons, kitchen towels, home decor knick-knacks, canned jellies and pickles, and Austin-original items like birdfeeders made from colorful dishes. Some of the items' styling is up-to-date; others are very traditional. Not everything is handmade, and there are a few resellers such as Tupperware, cosmetics, or The Pampered Chef, but they don't overwhelm the feeling of the fair. This year I found cute travel pillowcases and wooden wall art. There's likely something for everyone on your list here. Prices range from reasonable to a downright bargain. In the center of the church is the gym which has several aisles of vendors as well as food for sale. Hillcrest has a large kitchen in the gym which is run by adults but cashiered by the youth group. "Margaret's Chocolate Cake" here is LEGENDARY (with or without nuts). It's a must have; the cake is moist, delicious and flavorful and it rivals any restaurant. You can pre-order a whole cake on their restaurant. They also offer enchilada dinners (not so great), chicken croissant sandwiches and other foods. There's a dining room set up around the corner. It's a fun, family atmosphere. The youth group also helps the vendors set up and tear down their booths. Well done, Hillcrest! They HAVE been operating for 24 years so they know how to do it.

I live in Cedar Park so it was close to my house. There is the perfect amount of space and the space was ideal for setting up the food and having places for everyone to talk and eat. I hired a catering company to provide the tea service; they provided almost everything needed for an amazing tea but we were able to use some of the Kitchen House's dishes and supplies to fill in the few items we needed. The space was generous in size; parking was free and there was plenty of parking. The space is light and airy; the bathroom is spotlessly clean. My guests and the catering staff were raving about how great the venue was. The rental process was very easy and the rates very reasonable. I would be very happy to rent this space in the future for other events.

They really enjoyed it, came home each day with big smiles and a lot of enthusiasm. My daughter saved the food she prepared to bring me a little light lunch (which was actually quite delicious) and my son devoured all of his. The main advantage of the class vs. training them myself is that KH is a dedicated teaching kitchen. They are equipped and staffed to show kids how to prepare many dishes over the course of a week, whereas I have the time, energy and ingredients to maybe teach them one thing. I'm glad we signed up for this and will be back next Summer for another class or two.

I happened on this place originally by happenstance and had a great conversation with the owner. She made me feel at ease bringing in a couple paintings to have framed that I had been putting off to avoid putting them in the hands of amateurs. Each piece is meticulously stored until ready to work with it and looks immaculate upon pick up. The entire staff are great and patient and the prices fair, particularly for the caliber of work they do. I can't recommend this place to enough people. Oh, and they have a really interesting and eclectic offering of local pieces for sale to. This place is always worth stopping by.

Down below is a gift shop in the front, and to the back is the gallery of artwork. Upstairs is the artist loft area, where artists have their own rooms to work in. This weekend, no artists were working upstairs, and it's a bit stuffy when the air conditioning is off. What I saw I liked, and I even got some cute items from the shop. The artist watching the store was friendly and explained things about the various artists and the gallery. Parking is in the mall.
