There are so many pretty pieces that you can pick from the pottery shelf such as mugs, planters, coasters, dishes and much more. Just grab a few paints that you like and transform the blank pottery canvas into a personalized art that you can take home with you! They fire/glaze your piece after painting and you can pick it one that's done after a week. The instructor was really helpful and circulated for most of the class to help us troubleshoot our projects. There were a lot of glaze options, and overall the class was a good number of people and just the right duration. They also offer cast ceramics painting, which I think you can just do as a drop in. I checked out some of the items available, and made a note to come try that with my daughter. Note that this place isn't a cafe - I was a little confused about that when I got the invitation to the class, and wasn't sure what to expect. Who knew I was such a great artist? I went with my daughter and her BF, and we brought snacks from Central Market. It was Wednesday evening and not crowded at all. There were so many inspirations for how to paint the piece I selected. Talking with an employee, I soon had my vision and had all the tools to make it happen. I wanted to make different sized circles, and sure enough, there was a bowl of sponge daubers. I also used a stamp to apply graphics. So fun! And the transformation after firing was amazing. A great place to let your creativity shine. The owner of the cafe is incredibly sweet and she was so helpful the entire time. There was a selection of ceramics to choose from and so many paints to experiment with. At the paint station there was a bunch of tiles explaining the different techniques and styles that you could play with to achieve different looks with your work. I thought that was a splendid way to show off the techniques. If you get decision paralysis like me they have a bookshelf of inspiration you can spark yours with. Even the bathrooms are covered in works of art bringing tons of joy. Initially while looking at the prices I thought they were kind of high, but thinking how that price includes all the supplies and the help and the firing, it's not a bad deal. Standard firing is one week, you can pay extra to get it done in 3 days. Only thing that knocked it down a star is that I wish they had a bigger selection of ceramics to choose from. read more

My sister and I did the try it class for $70. If you want to make a mug they charge you an additional $15 to add a handle lol. And the whole time you are in the class they are basically rushing you to finish. Anyway we got our pieces back 8 weeks later and my bowl had a huge crack down the side of it. Visited with some friends on a Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised at how cute the place is. Located in a shopping center, there's plenty of parking. The studio is split into the pottery painting side and the actual pottery making classes side. You just walk in and pick your piece(s), and all of the paints and materials you need are there for you to use. The prices of the pieces were a little steep (I don't recall many under $20), but overall it was worth it. Slight disappointment in the lack of paint color options that were available at the time we went (I guess a lot of them were being refilled/remade at the time), but overall I was able to use the colors I wanted. A great night out to do something new, fun, and creative with your friends or partner. I would definitely come back here to paint again, and maybe even sign up for a wheel class. Just note that they don't call or notify you when your piece is glazed and ready for pick up, so it's on you to remember to come back and get it within 30 days! read more

Vibes are absolutely immaculate. One of the employees Cato was WHISTLING, literally like Snow White. Normally whistling makes me irrationally angry, but I was honestly so blown away by the beauty lol. Make reservations always. Every spot was taken by guests with reservations. The selection of things to paint is somewhat limited compared to other shops I've been to, but the service was top-shelf. My young companions had worn party dresses and needed aprons. No problem. Aprons for giants were supplied but they still did the job. One tiny hiccup: the shop didn't contact me to let me know that our things were ready but that's okay because they went above and beyond to help us wrap the items for a birthday present. They lied... I am disgusted by the service we did not received and were promised.... We went from Houston to Austin just for this so called pottery experience ... a 3 hour drive only for our service to be refused from being 3 minutes late after there was a major accident clearing up on the way... and when we tried calling to let them know ...no body answered.... After arriving we were greeted from this blonde skinny teenager girl ..... after explaining what happened and what had made us late we insisted on her asking the teacher to let us in the class as it had only began..... she came back saying the teacher refused.... and that's not the worst part the worst began after she asked the teacher and came back with a racist attitude... after we acknowledge and accepted them not taking us and asked if we could reschedule.... Have in mind we were only there for the day and would make arrangements to come back Drive the 3 hours again just for this experience ..... but no she said they would not offer in store credit to reschedule as it neither would they refund the 140 + dollars we had paid already Their policy says one can be refunded 70 percent of the price if 15 minuta or less late And I am including a picture of the policy I am truly dissatisfied on how the staff handed the situation and kicked us out I do NOT recomend this place Save your time and money and book somewhere els read more

Absolutely obsessed with this place. I went as a kid (in 2001?) and rediscovered my love for Cafe Monet just a few months ago.. and I've been back every month to paint something new since. From beginner to expert, everyone is treated kindly and shown genuine care. Every staff member I've interacted with has been absolutely wonderful. Their selection rotates and I'm always finding new things to paint, the hard part is choosing which one! I came to the Try It Class here with the intention of learning if I like making pottery or not. If I did I would move forward with the 8 week pottery class here. The location is great. You're by everything. Central Market, restaurants, etc so before or after the class you have something to do. So I really thought this was it. But I can't say I liked pottery at Cafe Monet. Anytime I had a question instead of providing instruction the instructors would just get their hands on the clay instead. Which is fine every now and then I can get helping me fix it. But it was every time I had a question. I rather have them tell me how to fix it. It started to feel like their creation over my own. The real issue was, I was the last person to finish so I missed part two. I was told it's fine since we're way ahead of time. The class was scheduled till 8 but everyone was done before or around 7. When I finally got done my instructor in the back, Sofia didn't say anything to me. I ended up having to ask her multiple times what the next phase was because she'd start then stop and never explain fully what was next. It's obvious I wasn't there when she explained it the first time. But she acted like I either heard it all or she just really didn't want to repeat herself which really wasn't fair to me. So I ended up not enjoying my experience here. I was nice I said thank you. We have the same name so I even talked about it. I even asked about their classes. I can't wrap my mind around why she was 0 help in the end. Especially for a class that ended almost an hour before it was supposed to. I look forward to seeing the final results of my pottery. But I personally don't plan on being back. read more
