I can't recommend Dion and Certified Roofing highly enough. We are first time landlords, and I was struck with terror when our tenant texted to say that there was water leaking into the kitchen. I called around to several roofing places to see who could get out there to take a look, particularly since there were more storms on the way. Dion got back to me right away, and said that although it would be a few days before he could get out, advised us to poke a hole in the ceiling so that the water would leak through only in one spot and not spread across the whole ceiling. So... Couple weeks ago, I noticed a stain in my ceiling spreading and then the evil drip... drip... drip. Having been disappointed by my share of contractors, I started a Yelp search expecting more of the same. I grabbed three names with 4+ stars and made some contacts. Dion called me like fifteen minutes later. Another guy called a few hours later and the third called a couple days later. Actually... By the time the third guy called, Dion had already inspected my roof and gave me a couple options. Guy number two did an inspection the day after Dion, and number three? Well... He made an appointment, told me he didn't need to get up on the roof to inspect (seriously??) and ended up cancelling his appointment an hour before we were scheduled (wtf??). So, down to Dion and Door Number 2. Dion's guarantee was twice as long, the price was about the same and the materials Dion uses are a higher quality (yes, I checked into that too). So, we chose Dion. Dion scheduled us right away, fixed the issues and sent me pictures and video of the work in progress. His crew were polite and everything was cleaned up before they left. The Story: I set up an mid-afternoon appointment with Certified Roofing to inspect a roof. Left work, fought traffic, etc... When I arrived at the house (on time), I waited around for 30-40 mins after the start of our supposed appointment. No roofing guy. No call. No nothing. Silence. After the 40 minute mark, I called the number and here's a close approximation of the conversation: Him: "Certified Roofing" Me: "Hi, I was supposed to have a roofing inspect around 40 mins ago" Him: "Yeah, we're not going to get around to doing that today. Sorry. Want to reschedule?" Me: "No thanks" I'm a pretty reasonable guy. If he were late, or called earlier in the day so that I didn't have to leave work, it would be fine. We're all busy and sometimes shit happens. Not calling to reschedule earlier in the day so I didn't waste a few hours would have been the obvious and decent thing to do. The kicker is, upon originally calling to schedule the inspection, he told me that he would waive the ~$300 fee if I would write a review for him on Yelp and Angie's list. The next appointment I made, he sent some surly guy who showed up an hour late, complained about how hard my house was to find, and told me my roof had a bump in it. Thanks a lot. After interviewing several roofing companies, I settled on Dion and Certified Roofing. Why? He was professional, honest (even his voice mail explained when he was taking jobs i.e. I called in June and the message said jobs in the September), friendly and detailed in his quote. Dion followed up his quote with a call and put me at ease to hire him. We had a lot of ice dams that had caused water damage. Since the roof on our ranch has a low pitch, Dion suggested using the water barrier all the way up the roof which was more than the other contractors suggested. As the date got closer, Dion called to let me know the schedule as weather does move the jobs out a few days. Dion and his crew showed up on the date agreed upon. The crew was very nice and Dion followed up each day to make sure that the work was getting done. It has been about a 18 months since the job was done and the roof still looks great. We had a little concern on one area and when I called him, he came RIGHT OUT!! Try to find a contractor who will answer your call 18 months after the job was done. This was our first roof repair for a condo building in Cambridge and we feel super lucky to have found Dion and his team. Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as other reviews, but warrants fair mention. My roof has had some winter damage related significant leaking into two levels of my home. Certified Roofing came promptly the first time and did some work which did not fix the problem. I suspected another source since a prior repair had been made and informed them of this. Again with the next heavy rains, the roof has again started to leak damaging interior walls and cabinetry. Since that, I have made multiple calls and sent emails without any response from the owner of this company. It appears as though they have no interest in the problem and once paid have become unresponsive. In my opinion, if there's a project they don't feel capable of doing or are unable to do, they should let a home owner know. I am very disappointed to say the least. read more

I must say that I had a phenomenal experience from a a customer service perspective. I had a very small piece of flashing that came loose on a new construction townhouse that had just gone past the one year warranty. I struggled to get anyone to come out to see the damage, which was frustrating given how new the property is.
