I just had my roof in Somerville replaced by Certified Roofing. They did an excellent job and completed the job in two days. The job was not easy, as the home is a 100 year old Victorian that is about 50 feet at the peak, with several valleys and a couple of dormers. My interaction with Dion was great right from the start. From the date of my initial contact, Dion inspected the job and gave me a quote with three days. I had contacted two other roofers as well and had to follow up with each after over a week to receive their quotes. One of the quotes was 25% higher that then other two, which were very comparable. While price is always a factor, I was also focused on the quality of materials, as this is what will make the roof last. I met with a neighbor who is a contractor to help me review the bids for comparability. He pointed out that the materials that Dion quoted - Grace Ice and Water Shield, and GAF Timberline shingles, were industry best. I then had a call with Dion to discuss some questions and Dion responded to all of my questions patiently and professionally. Upon informing Dion that he had the job, he had the job done within a week. He handled all of the permits with Somerville which was another chore I didn't have to deal with. His quote included removing one or two layers of shingles, and it turned out that there were three layers. Despite the extra work, he stuck to his original quote, which was limited to two layers. Dion had a crew of seven men working on the roof and they had to use the neighbor's driveway as well as mine. He worked with the neighbors, completed that side of the job in a day, and his crew did an outstanding clean up, resulting in minimal disruption to the neighbors. We had Certified Roofing replace our roof in mid-March 2021. To our surprise, the team was able to accomplish it in 1 day. The owner, Dion, was able to do this by successfully allocating resources and got extra help to finish the work in the 1 day. At one point I counted there were 7 individuals working on our house! Prior to the roof installation, during the proposal/estimate phase Dion was very forthcoming on what it would take to perform the work, what was included in the estimate, what wasn't included in the estimate, etc. He was also very honest about what truly was needed for our house, whereas other companies we received estimates from tried to up-sell additional features that really didn't provide much value. Dion was very good at communicating through all phases of the project, with the preference being text messaging and email (fine with me!), although we did talk on the phone as well. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Certified Roofing for any roof replacement. In fact, during the roof installation we found out that they also do siding and gutter projects too, so we plan to hire them in the future for that work when we're ready to proceed. Had a great experience with Dion and Certified. We had a roof leak and I called around for 4 prices. Dion was the first to call back. He is very professional and takes the time to explain his game plan and answer questions. I explained the situation and he was able to quote me a reasonable price including removal of two layers of shingles, water barriers, install ridge vent, etc. and perform the work the next day! His crew also removed and disposed of a large decorative chimney on the roof and shingled my shed for a very small add on fee. There were 4 guys on the roof going all out and two ladies working hard on the ground gathering shingles and debris. I was really impressed by how hard these people work. They completed the job in 1 day and it looks great. Got all the regular guarantees on the workmanship and shingles. A week later I noticed a small piece of plastic (less than the size of a sandwich bag) between the shingles flapping in the breeze. I called Dion and he came back and they got on the roof and removed the piece of plastic. This was after he had been paid which tells me all I need to know. Scumbag companies would have laughed. Dion really seems to value the customer and if this attitude never changes I expect his business will grow and grow. I would highly recommend this company. read more

Dion was responsive and prompt in responding to our inquiry on the roof soffit that had blown off in a storm and was hanging from the peak of the house and banging against the windows. We needed to get it fixed sooner than later. He called us in the morning and came over later in the afternoon. He initially had quoted us a minimal price but I suspected it would require more work than my inexperienced explanation had explained over the phone. When he got here he looked it over, he said yeah, it was going to be more work. He quoted us a reasonable price and said that he would be back first thing in the morning to get started. They arrived the next morning before they said they would and went straight to work. They finished in a about a half of a day, cleaned up and were pleasant, friendly and did a fantastic job. It looks brand new, and stronger than ever. Dion was personable and was very knowledgeable. He even mentioned some things about our roof without trying to up-sell us or create business, Just letting us know what it looked like up there. I recently hired Dion for roof and siding work. During the winter, a tree had fallen on our place and left quite a bit of damage to the far side of the house. After getting multiple quotes for roofers, we decided to go with Dion from Certified Roofing because he was extremely professional and answered all of our questions. He gave a detailed quote using high quality materials (I did research on the materials too). Our roof is somewhat complicated -- it's a Gambel with dormers and peaks and valleys, plus we have a flat rubber roof on the back. Our gutters were a mess too. So, I got a separate quote for that. After ripping off the roof, Dion found that the rafters under the front porch were completed rotted and needed to be fixed, plus some other sheathing needed repair. No surprise, as I think the house was turning into a wildlife sanctuary with all the squirrels living in the eaves. He placed the soffits, trim, gutters - no more squirrels! With a large house with complicated roofs (shed roofs, 35' tall A frame roof, and two large addition roofs, with all the peaks, slopes and valleys) we needed a experienced team to do this job. I highly recommend Certified Roofing. They did a excellent job replacing the roof all along the extension in the back of my house. The work was very detailed and it involved replacing the old tiles with new asphalt ones and rubber membrane in the low pitch sections. They also replaced the old plastic "bubble" skylights with 2 beautiful glass skylights (see attached photos). Dion, the owner of the company, was prompt, knowledgeable and reliable. After he came to see the job, we exchanged e-mails to finalize on the skylights and communication was very good. He was friendly, honest, and very thorough. We had to replace the roof on our home just after purchasing it. Not something that we were excited to do but Dion and his team made the process completely painless. We were really impressed with Dion and his team. He came out right away to do an estimate on a half-finished job that our previous roofer bailed on. He talked us through the nuances of a complicated job on an old house, answered our questions, pointed out some errors that our previous roofers had made, and generally made us very comfortable selecting Certified Roofing for the job. When work began Dion was flexible with our schedules, and kept us updated on the progress. The job ended up taking quite a bit longer than originally estimated, but we were briefed on complications as they arose. Like many people, we have run into problems with ice dams this winter, and a few days ago, we came home to the nightmare scenario of water coming in through the walls! We had a relatively minor roof issue come up during our home inspection (torn rubber gasket at the base of a vent pipe). I called five local companies for quotes.
