Cesar came out and gave me an estimate on taking out a 30' bottle brush tree, and grinding the stump. The estimate was good, so I arranged for them to come out on Monday Wednesday April 1st. I then got to thinking that we were going to have rain for Friday night through Sunday ( a muddy mess ) Minutes later, Cesar showed up at my door, wanting to know if they could do it today (Friday). So I said yeah, absolutely. Cesar's crew showed up at the appointed time (1PM) and we're done and cleaned up by 2:15. Omar should be a surgeon...he was able to complete the work, amid an orange tree, two lemon trees, and my wife's prized "Trumpet" They worked as a team, were very professional and friendly. We are completely pleased with the work that Cesar and his crew did at our house. We have a huge Jacaranda in our front yard that needed to be trimmed. That's what I was most concerned with. His rate was very reasonable compared to other quotes that I've had. In discussions, I showed Cesar the backyard and a tree that needed to be cut down. Not only did I get a great rate, but his crew started work that very same day! All in a matter of 4 days they've done work at 4 houses on my street, including my neighbor! All in total, I had a Jacaranda trimmed, 8 trees/partial trees removed, 9 stumps removed, and we added on 3 trumpet vines completely removed that were intertwined in a chain link fence. ***SCAM ALERT*** Beware of Cesar Tree Service - They are dishonest and will send untrained crews to perform work, avoid communication, and then threaten to harass and vandalize your property rather than try and resolve issues in a professional manner. My husband and I had a very large camphor tree that we needed trimmed back slightly so that it wasn't hanging over our roof or fences into neighbor's yards. Cesar Tree Service had distributed cards in our neighborhood so thinking we were helping a local small business we gave them a call. We spoke to Cesar who came out to give us an estimate and we agreed that they would lightly trim back the tree and leave medium foliage as this tree is in the center of our back yard and provides the only shade which makes the yard enjoyable in the summer months. The day the crew came to perform the work Cesar was not among them and the crew removed the ENTIRE canopy of out 60+ year old tree and it now barely casts as shadow. Further they removed almost all of the leading branches and new growth so it's going to take the tree a decade or more to grow back anywhere near the canopy that we've now lost. Within 30 minutes of seeing the horrible job that was done both my husband and I had contact Cesar. He ignored my husband completely and rushed me off the phone as fast as possible saying he was going to call his crew and then call me back. Which he never did. My husband then tried to contact him and his calls and texts were repeatedly ignored. We had to put a stop payment on the check before he would even contact us to discuss the issue and rather than try and come to some kind of an understanding or to even apologize for the damage that was done he instead threatened to dump someone else's tree branches in our yard and driveway if we didn't pay him immediately. This is the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with any small business in my entire life. These guys advertise themselves as "very honest and trustworthy" and this couldn't be farther from their reality. read more

Their truck says CG Tree Service I investigated thoroughly and they have no active licenses of any kind or insurance to perform any work. My neighbor used a similar outfit with no license or insurance and one worker was hurt doing the job and she went through a nightmare of lawsuits scamming her out of huge money. I'm glad I never used them after their bid and researched them. When I texted and called them to ask a question about the job they totally ignored me and ghosted me and would not respond. Same as other reviews in that they keep putting their business cards in your door. When Cesar came out to give me the estimate I told him everything that needed to be done ie. brush clearance, weeding and pruning bushes and dead flower blooms. He agreed, but when his 2 workers came out they only did brush clearance and weed wacked the bushes. No weed pulling and no pruning. When I told them what was agreed to they said Cesar wanted more money than what was quoted! Never use them again. read more

He listened to all of our concerns. He removed over 18 trees and a large plot of bamboo over a 3-day period. His workers were very aware to protect my home while they were working. These guys litter with their ads on our front porch every single week. They throw flyers, magnets, etc. on the ground on our porch and just dump them there. The amount of trash spreading through our neighborhood due to this company is unreal. The magnets are particularly pernicious as we have like 40 of them now that cannot be recycled so they just fill up waste bins. For a company that wants to care for trees, they certainly have insanely anti-environmental practices. I will never, ever use their service and I encourage others to avoid them. read more
