Let's start with the good they're open until 11 PM which on a Saturday night helps a lot when most restaurants on Broadway closes at 10. We got the mango margarita and you can taste the mango purée. It's like real mango. Now the Not so good. It has nothing to do with food. I had the spinach wrap with shrimp very tasty and healthy. My wife had the enchiladas and they were fine. My problem is with the add on pricing. The wrap was for $18 but added $8 for the shrimp its ridiculously expensive especially when it's not mentioned upfront. The extra $4 for the steak in the enchiladas we knew. Add all of that plus the $18 margaritas plus 19% tip and I paid $90. I could get seafood dinner for 2 at that price on East Lakeview. read more

Had been wanting to come here for a while! I was surprised by how big the inside is, but it was superrrr loud. We had a group of 8 so the service was pretty good considering the size of the group. I got the burrito bowl which was actually huge and delicious! I enjoyed that much more than the marg which was honestly just ok. Prices aren't too bad, worth a try! Well Margarita is in their name! That's the star of the show and reason to come. The margarita are to die for and the perfect amount of alcohol. I personally am a fan of the Guava Margarita it's the perfect sweetness level and balance with with the tequila. I also tried the Strawberry marg but it was extremely sweet. The service was superb and fast. We never waiting for more than 5-6 minutes for anything and the place was crowded on National Margarita Day. This is a good place if you're in the mood for margaritas and very standard Mexican food. I got the chicken birria tacos which were good but nothing special. I was worried that they would be dry but the chicken was actually decently moist. I also got a frozen coconut margarita which I didn't love but I think that was more on my flavor choice than the actual drink itself. I will say it seems for most of their flavored margaritas they mix the flavor into a lime base so it's a bit more subtle than other places. The servers were friendly but not sure if we missed it but were a bit surprised by the 20% surcharge added to our check. They told us this was the gratuity after the fact but that would've been nice to have known up front. They also have a 90 min table limit which they didn't enforce for us but the place also was not terribly busy while we were there. Something to note if you go at a more popular time! I've passed this place a million times and decided to try it out. I typically have an average expectation for a marg (i worked for chilis lol) and ordered the HH house lime on the rocks. Juan - the best bartender I've met in a restaurant lately- put me on to the frozen and he was RIGHT. Their flavored frozen margs are so creamy and showcase the flavor so well. Totally recommend the mango and the Corazon- the queso dip was good and Juan recommended the mini tacos for the next time. I came here to celebrate my birthday with friends and it was so fun!! Their margaritas are massive and there is no shortage of alcohol (you only need one!). I also tried my first birria tacos here and it started an obsession - so good. The staff and other fun guests made the experience great overall, they have a great birthday surprise as well. Only note that isn't clear/known: they have 90 minute table limits and it starts whenever the first person in your party sits down. So I would not go to your table unless your whole party is there. First of all, they had me at margaritas. The food is decent, but let's be real--this is your margarita spot. Perfectly boozy, not overly sugary, and absolutely mission accomplished. There's nothing worse than a too-sweet, watered-down margarita, and that's not what you get here. My fiancé had a plain margarita, and I went for the strawberry--both were spot on. We also ordered chips and queso and some chicken tacos. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the star of the show either. I do wish they'd upgrade to blanco queso, which would make a big difference, and switch to fresh tortilla chips. Those store-style chips are a no-go for me. First off, parking is a nightmare around here. Basically, you sshould begin looking for parking about a block away. This is a busy area and it's even more busy on in weekend. I immediately replied, "for tacos"? The hostess looked at me, nodded and smiled, then relied "yes". We opted to wait. We were seated within 5 minutes, since we only had a party of 2. Bar seating was faster, but I noticed, many people had a party of 4 or more. There is no waiting area, so you are basically standing in the entrance off to the side. This was a problem for me, especially with a hour wait. Luckily, we were seated alto sooner. The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside. We were seated at a cozy table near the kitchen.......Since they were taughting an hour wait, I wasn't upset. It was tight but it was fine. The decor was average. Pinewood tables and semi booths.....Festive and functional. The Food: I had the chicken and steak fajitas with corn tortillas. The wife had a ground beef taco dinner. Both came with a side of rice and beans. Also, since they are known for their Margaritas, with wife ordered a frozen strawberry one.......I went in for a taste and I must say, it might be the best margarita i've every had. I was plesantly surprised byt the food. The fajitas were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The corn totillas were steamed and began to tear apart so I asked for flour......Perfect......The portions were enough to share, which ultimate led to us getting to-go boxes. Conclusion: The food was good, similar to Uncle Julio's but better. The parking is a problem. I would consider trying to find parking via an app or looking a block or so away........Don't forget to get on the waiting list before you arrive, espically if you have a large party. The place is a little small! Well smaller than I expected. So I would say come early if possible if you are coming on the weekend. They open up at 12pm. The washrooms are clean. I've been to the Cesar's that was on Clark many times, but this was the first time I've been to this one. I was expecting it to be the same, but it is much better. It's more intimate, and cuter, with smaller dining rooms on different levels. Note that the online menus don't really reflect the current menu for food or drinks. It's not a problem, it's just different. To start, the signature margarita was fantastic, with just the right balance of lime, tequila, and sweetness. I never liked the nachos at the other Cesar's, so we tried the queso dip, and it was very good, even though it looked a bit like movie theater nacho cheese rather than true queso blanco. But the show stopper was the Costillas en Salsa Verde, which was a half slab of baby back pork ribs simmered in green sauce and topped with onions. Wow! I'm originally from Southern California, and have had thousands of Mexican meals in hundreds of Mexican restaurants, and this is the single best thing I have ever had in any of them. The worst non-Mexican food I have ever had, 1st, how do you eat refried beans and rice with a fork, it runs through the prongs of the fork, they need to give silverware when serving food, 2nd, rice served on dirty paper, how unhealthly, don't they have tiny plates for their food, chicken taco dinner, could not eat it it was so bad, so they take a cook chicken in a pot, throw in spices and call it tacos or enchiladas , no flavor at all. I really like the food here, I always get the same thing. Steak quesadilla, birria tacos, queso fundido with only poblano peppers (no mushroom) and Jamaica margarita on the rocks. The food is always consistent and fresh. One complaint is that I feel like the birria has too much fatty pieces in it and has been losing its flavor lately. Maybe I just had a bad batch. Staff is always very nice and food came out fast. It was a little loud in there but that's most restaurants these days. Someone was celebrating a birthday and the instrument they used to alert everyone they were about to sing happy birthday was one of the loudest things I have ever heard.
