Was hungry on a Sunday and decided to head over to Chattahoochee Food Works. I hadn't been to this location in a while. With all the recent growth and development in the area, it had gotten so crowded and parking had become such a hassle that I started going to other spots instead. But this Sunday was a pleasant surprise--super chill. I even found parking on the first level! But that's not what this review is about . Anyway, I made my way into the food hall and stumbled across this spot. Mind you, I haven't been here in a while and don't remember seeing this place before--so it felt like a new find to me. I looked at the menu and was in the mood for some casual food. I'm always down for some jerk wings, and when I saw you could get six wings with fries, I was sold. The food is made to order, so I waited about 15 minutes. The service was quick and friendly. When it came to the food, I liked the wings and fries. I ate them while they were hot, and they were pretty good. The sauce was a little watery, but not to the point where it ruined the flavor. They give you a generous portion of fries, which I appreciated for the price. Overall, the food was good. I'd definitely go back and check out what else is on the menu to try. read more

Some friends and I came here for a day outing and had a ball. We stopped by perfect seasoning and I only ordered beef patties because I had so much food from other restaurants. The person working here was so kind. We were indecisive and the menu had us hungry all over again because there was so much on it and everything looked good. Their setup was too cute and I enjoyed how sleek and streamlined their location was. Everything was right there in front of us. I tried their curry chicken which was freshly made and came with a side of their cabbage and rice/peas. It was prepared relatively quick as there were a few people who ordered before me. You can definitely tell the chicken was braised with the potatoes and carrots as they were all super tender and flavorful. The cabbage was also delicious with a wonderful texture of being slightly wilted but still a good bite. The rice and beans had a little of the curry sauce drizzled over which I greatly appreciated as it shows they really care how the food is presented. Overall, I had a good experience. But the quantity was a little disappointing as it was almost $20 for a measly small drum stick and a portion of the wing. Staff was friendly and professional. FINALLY! This was my 5th attempt to eat at their restaurant located within Chattahoochee Food Works. Wait times were entirely too long on some occasions and on other occasions they ran out of oxtails (which was all I wanted). On my last attempt I ARRIVED EARLY at the start of their business hours hoping to secure both a good spot in line and some of the first oxtails of the day. But as fate would have it, they weren't ready for business! So I lingered, and lingered and lingered until my patience had run its course. Finally after about 45 minutes had passed, I walked away and ordered food elsewhere. During that same visit, I was outside taking pics of my food when the owner of Perfect Seasoning tracked me down and presented me with a small order of complimentary Oxtails and said: "Put out of your mind what you are thinking!" I found that to be a rather clairvoyant thing to say because my thoughts definitely centered around NEVER returning. If you've ever been to a place that made you feel they are so popular they don't need your business then you can understand what I mean when I say that's the vibe I was receiving. So without that extra effort, I'm pretty certainly I wouldn't have returned. Well, it has been about 9 months since that encounter and I was back again! It was a Thursday afternoon and most of the businesses within the Food Hall were slow, allowing me to order without waiting in an absurdly long line. I placed only one order for OXTAILS to share with my son who was home briefly from college, but after receiving our order and taking one bite, we knew we couldn't share! It was soooooo good that I immediately went to place another order for myself. Seriously the best oxtails I've ever eaten. BUT HERE'S THE RUB To be honest, I can see the issues some reviewers complain about with customer service and attitudes even though none of my encounters have been harsh or rude. I think Perfect Seasoning has a good product, and I'M PRETTY CERTAIN they also think they have a good product. But a good product is only the beginning of a successful business and I don't think they yet realize the truth of the saying "It's the little foxes that spoil the vine!" My mom always said if multiple people are saying the same thing about you, you might want to consider what YOU are doing to create that opinion. Not everything people believe is true, but true or false, perception CAN BE reality. FINAL THOUGHTS I hope they can capture and tame the little foxes. The Oxtails here are truly exemplary and it really is a shame their overall yelp rating isn't higher, which prior to my post was 2.8 after 18 reviews. I have been to the Works a couple of times now, and I really love the variety that the food hall offers. I've always wanted to try this restaurant, so finally decided to do it this visit. I had the jerk quarter chicken with beans and rice and replaced the cabbage with plantains. I only realized after I ordered the meal that they used bottled jerk seasoning. Which turned me off a bit, given $18 plate, I thought it all be from scratch. The chicken itself wasn't that great and had too much sweetness for me. It also seemed to be a lot of bones and not very moist. The rice and beans didn't have much flavor and were a bit cold. The plantains were okay but wish they were a bit sweeter. I would give zero stars. Worst service and attitude I have ever experienced. I asked the man what time they were open, obviously being in a food hall where most stalls were already open. He proceeded to ignore the question and be totally rude and school us by counting the stools up on the counter indicating they were not open. A simple "not yet" would have been fine. The staff mistakenly gave me tacos (their fault, not mine) and a woman from another vendor came to take the food back from me...to give someone else. Who takes food back that's already been passed to someone else?! I've walked past this stall each time I've been to CFW and each time I've wanted to try it, but my mind told me "there is no way a food stall will get it right." As someone who grew up in a Jamaican household and eats food of the island regularly, I have a different measuring stick. Also the way oxtails nuh cheap! I would hate to be vexxed! On my 3rd visit to CFW, I was tempted by a customer waiting on his food from this stall, eating food from this stall. Like a taster....of curry crab. This is the type of place that will have you standing in line eating as if you were home. After seeing (and hearing) this customer suck, slop, and slurp I had to do it. I bit the bullet and ordered the curry blue crab (which is only offered Fridays, but luckily on this Saturday they had them available). I, unlike my line eating new friend, opted to enjoy my dish at home...where I could get down and dutty (dirty). WOW!! No, like WOWWWWWW! The rice and peas were soft and fluffy and flavored to perfection! I could taste the coconut milk and thyme immediately! The cabbage was also perfect! Crisp and seasoned well. The curry had a kick to it (as it should) and was very flavorful. Now the actual crab... Blue crabs aren't the meatiest. They are small in size and require a bit of work for little meat. If you've had gumbo, it's the same idea. While the crab didn't produce much as far as protein, it was delicious. I do wish they gave you more than 2 clusters given their size. I also missed the plantain that typically accompany a Jamaican dish. I will definitely be back to try everything else because this place just might live up to the name, Perfect Seasoning. Did not even get to taste the food. I agree you should have patience but not even an acknowledgement. I was second in line and just stood there with the other customer in front of me. There was not even a wait. They were working on food prep. Not even a "we will be right with you" ....people coming up to me asking if I ordered when I replied I did not even get a chance to order. I just left after 15 min. Food might have been good but customer service goes a long way and my spending dollars will be gladly accepted elsewhere. Food wasn't cooked correctly, used basmati rice for rice + peas, left the cabbage overseasoned and the meat underseasoned. The plaintains were baked and boiled which left them with no flavour. The service was interesting, 2 out of 3 were quite rude but the man with blond locs was very kind and patient. Ambiance is okay, its a market place so its loud. The tables don't have plugs or anything so can't charge your phone which you should be able to considering the wait is like 25-45 minutes. I came because of a tiktok i saw. The food was pretty good and served well although i wanted oxtail and they didn't have that available. There's no way to contact them or order ahead incase what you want isn't available. My actually issue is the fact that the customer service was extremely underwhelming. I stood at the counter ready to order and the cashier was angrily on his phone. No other staff checked in to make sure i was taken care of. They were bickering amongst themselves and even making fun of upset guests. I found that to be so weird an immature. They're serving food in a pricy area so we expect the food to the be pricy, but the price must also match the level of service... which it does not. The toughest oxtails I have ever had! Spent $75 and gave an $11 tip for tough meat and a cashier that was not pleasant. My Son and I love Oxtails, my Mom is from Jamaica. These Oxtails were tough and chewy. The crazy thing is that they were so hot in terms of temperature so I'm not sure if they are leaving the burner on all day which cases the toughness, but will definitely not return. Food was not bad. Here's my issue: I waited nearly 40 minutes for my food. We were visiting from Maryland, and were on a schedule to start driving again. When i got my food, I wasn't told how long it would take. I assumed maybe 10-15 minutes at most and was willing to wait. After waiting 15 minutes they let me know it would take a little longer about 10 minutes because they needed to cook the cabbage. Fine, they apologized and I was patient. Waited 20 minutes and finally they waved me down and we grabbed it. Mind you, I ordered one order of curry chicken and customers with larger orders who came after me got their order before I did. We were close to asking for a refund if we had to wait any longer. Having worked in food in the past, if a customer was waiting patiently for their food for longer than expected, I would offer something extra or maybe offer a discount. When they gave my husband my order (this is his Yelp account but we leave shared reviews) they said they thought we left? And that in the past customers have left because they waited so long not requesting refunds even. Are they just betting on customers not wanting their food anymore after a long wait? Sucks that their customer service was this way, because their food was decent. You could get better Jamaican food anywhere else though, this is not a must-go Jamaican spot. read more

I ordered two 6 piece jerk wings and the cashier gave me one cut up leg quarter in each box. The cashier did not bother to ask if I minded paying $21 for two leg quarters. She just handed it to me as if it was what I ordered. I checked the order before I left and her only response was "we're out of wings". I reluctantly took the order but later decided to contact the business. I submitted a request for a callback through the company's website and was called back almost immediately. The cashier was the person who contacted me and was rude and blamed me for not telling her I didn't want the $21 leg quarters. She went on to say the I in fact told her I wanted jerk chicken; she's lying. She charged me for two 6 piece jerk wings! She told me to dispute it with my bank and she will agree to my refund. I appreciate the refund but her nasty attitude is unacceptable. I will never ever visit this establishment again. I will take my dollars to where they are appreciated. This wasn't an isolated event.
