Stopped by here for a late dinner around 8ish on a Friday night. We were greeted upon entering and were seated shortly after inside at a booth. The booth seats are low in comparison to the table but it was fine just felt awkward at first. Wait staff was great. Very friendly and attentive. They had to give me a charged iPad once I noticed mine was dead. I liked that the wait staff worked together as a team so they helped one another and it didn't feel like we had to look for one specific person. Drinks were strong and tasty so worth the price. The presentation of the food was awesome. The portion was perfect for two people and we even had leftovers. Food tasted fresh and the sauces were delicious.

If you are looking for a party atmosphere, look no further. There are several rooms and an excellent bar to accommodate everyone's tastes. I wanted to bring my daughter out for her last day of work. We enjoyed cocktails and an excellent dinner. We were there early, but it was getting pretty crowded as we left. My daughter got one of the best burgers she's ever had and the beef & rice dish I got was so big that I made 3 meals out of it. Super friendly staff and all around a happy experience.

So the food was delicious. The different ceviches and the combate were the best. The drinks however were a bit too strong. I don't think I have ever said that before. We had to ask for some way to water them down. The waitress spilled my daughter's beverage on her. So that was not pleasant either. Their chicken wings were delicious but they ran out before we could order more. Maybe we went too late but the music was loud and the bar crowd were lots of men and 2 couples that kept making out. In the future we might come for lunch or order to go instead.

This vibrant culinary tapestry weaves together indigenous ingredients, European techniques, African traditions, and Asian influences to create some of the world's most exciting and diverse food experiences. For over the past two decades, these chefs have elevated traditional ingredients and techniques to new heights. We've passed this restaurant many times on a busy River Road in Fair Lawn and decided to stop in. Upon entering this warm and cozy interior without a reservation as first-timers, my partner and I managed to locate a table outside on this summer-like day. Juany's Cafe is a cozy, family-run establishment making a great impression as a place for brunch on locals and visitors. The owner is Peruvian, and the Mexican cook began in the kitchens of his homeland, known for its authentic Latin-inspired cuisine. We decided on the Latin bowl with marinated steak accompanied by black beans, sautéed veggies, avocado, and sweet plantains & Grilled Chicken Burritos with Sweet Potato Fries. Complimentary fruit salad started our meal. All ingredients were fresh, and the seasonings were unique with their bold flavors. There was a wait time for food as everything was homemade, made to order, and well presented. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the food. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The service was a bit slow due to a large party group. Brunch is the norm here, but we can't wait to try it out for dinner.

The food as also good, but our table placed an order of calamari. It came and while the table was eating we noticed a hair in it. We sent it back with the understanding that same would be removed from the bill. We continued enjoying our night. When the bill came, which was over $500, the calamari($17) had not been removed. The waitress said that too much of the calamari had been eaten before we noticed the hair. In all fairness we were close to 1/2 finished when the hair was discovered. We asked for the manager and her took the dish off of our bill. We thought the issue was done, it was not. Out of left field, a member of the 'security' staff came to our table and threatened us with violence and arrest while claiming to be a police officer. It is still unclear what upset him. No one from our table had spoken with him prior. It was such a scene that he made, we decided that it was time to leave. The security person continued and went to the manager to continue. As we were leaving, I asked the manager what the problem was and the security person was still going. He was clearly unhinged and in need of medication. We will never return to this place even though we were having a good time and spent a significant amount of money there. The hair and other mistakes/miscues by the waitress were not even an issue. The treatment from the member of the security staff who should have no interaction with customers was uncalled for and shows a lack of judgement on the manager for poor hiring practices. It also showed the managers lack of control of his employees. Is they how they normally operate? I can't say. We will never know as we will not return. Oddly enough my wife and I during dinner, discussed this restaurant as a possible location for our daughter's 18th birthday dinner later this month. Nope.
