This vibrant culinary tapestry weaves together indigenous ingredients, European techniques, African traditions, and Asian influences to create some of the world's most exciting and diverse food experiences. For over the past two decades, these chefs have elevated traditional ingredients and techniques to new heights. We've passed this restaurant many times on a busy River Road in Fair Lawn and decided to stop in. Upon entering this warm and cozy interior without a reservation as first-timers, my partner and I managed to locate a table outside on this summer-like day. Juany's Cafe is a cozy, family-run establishment making a great impression as a place for brunch on locals and visitors. The owner is Peruvian, and the Mexican cook began in the kitchens of his homeland, known for its authentic Latin-inspired cuisine. We decided on the Latin bowl with marinated steak accompanied by black beans, sautéed veggies, avocado, and sweet plantains & Grilled Chicken Burritos with Sweet Potato Fries. Complimentary fruit salad started our meal. All ingredients were fresh, and the seasonings were unique with their bold flavors. There was a wait time for food as everything was homemade, made to order, and well presented. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the food. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The service was a bit slow due to a large party group. Brunch is the norm here, but we can't wait to try it out for dinner.

Stopped here on a saturday when we really needed breakfast and this was a great choice. The kids…read moreoptions were perfectly sized- pancakes, eggs and choice of protein. I had the arepa special that came with a side salad and hubby had the huevos ranchero. The black beans were some of the best beans ive ever had. The arepas were pretty much perfect as well. The service was very good as well, with the owner coming to apologize after my order was very wrong and I received eggs Benedict instead of the arepa special. The restaurant is clean and the Latin inspired design is very pretty. Three kids meals and w adult ones and it came to about $100. Pricey for breakfast but I very much enjoy my food

Went last night in a double date. Vibe was great. Music was fantastic, especially the singer and…read moreher interactive nature of getting the patrons involved. The food as also good, but our table placed an order of calamari. It came and while the table was eating we noticed a hair in it. We sent it back with the understanding that same would be removed from the bill. We continued enjoying our night. When the bill came, which was over $500, the calamari($17) had not been removed. The waitress said that too much of the calamari had been eaten before we noticed the hair. In all fairness we were close to 1/2 finished when the hair was discovered. We asked for the manager and her took the dish off of our bill. We thought the issue was done, it was not. Out of left field, a member of the 'security' staff came to our table and threatened us with violence and arrest while claiming to be a police officer. It is still unclear what upset him. No one from our table had spoken with him prior. It was such a scene that he made, we decided that it was time to leave. The security person continued and went to the manager to continue. As we were leaving, I asked the manager what the problem was and the security person was still going. He was clearly unhinged and in need of medication. We will never return to this place even though we were having a good time and spent a significant amount of money there. The hair and other mistakes/miscues by the waitress were not even an issue. The treatment from the member of the security staff who should have no interaction with customers was uncalled for and shows a lack of judgement on the manager for poor hiring practices. It also showed the managers lack of control of his employees. Is they how they normally operate? I can't say. We will never know as we will not return. Oddly enough my wife and I during dinner, discussed this restaurant as a possible location for our daughter's 18th birthday dinner later this month. Nope.

Can only speak about the take out. Ordered 1/2 chicken with chaufa and the lomo saltado. Both were…read morevery good. Large portions. The Paterson location makes both better in my opinion. Plenty of parking. Not so sure this location so close to the other one makes business sense. But what do I know.
