Today (May 10th, Sunday), I went to Regency Movie Theater in Buena Park, Orange County, with my mom and my two brothers to watch a movie. We went to see The Devil Wears Prada 2. When I checked the movie schedule online last night, I saw an 11:30 AM showtime, so we left early in the morning to make it on time. However, when we got there, we were told that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. We had driven all the way there specifically so my mom could watch the movie with Korean subtitles, so we had no choice but to buy four tickets for the 1:15 PM showing, which did have Korean subtitles. While we were waiting, we bought nachos there, charged our cell phones, and relaxed for a while and had lunch in that mall. Being able to charge our phones was a huge plus. Also, one of the female employees, who was quite tall, was very kind and told us that there was a seating area toward the back of the theater. Thanks to her, we were able to sit there for a while, charge our phones, and eat our nachos. However, there were two women's restrooms inside the theater. One of them had no hand soap at all. I went and told the female employee, and she asked me, "There's no hand soap at all?" I said there was none at all. She then told me there was another women's restroom on the other side, so I went there, and that restroom did have soap. Before the movie started, I went back to the first restroom because it was closer to the theater, but even after more than two hours, there was still no hand soap at all. I was very disappointed, so I had to go to the restroom that was much farther away from the theater. Overall, this theater has a lot of good points. The staff is friendly, the seats are pretty comfortable, the theater is clean and pleasant, you can charge your cell phone, and parking is free. Also, for older people like my mom who want to enjoy the latest Hollywood movies with Korean subtitles, that is definitely the biggest advantage. However, I do have two suggestions: I hope they maintain the restrooms better. If there is no soap at all in the restroom, it does not seem right that no one refills it for more than two hours. I wish they would provide Korean subtitles for all showtimes. If that is not possible, I hope they clearly indicate on their website which showtimes have Korean subtitles and which ones do not. We came from far away, so it was very disappointing to find out that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. Because of that, we ended up wasting two hours even though we had driven all the way there specifically for the Korean subtitles. read more

Another 1 star! Cant believe they didnt play BTS Busan live viewing. Everywhere else that arent in Korean plazas were... They always used to but not this time?? And they have the same 1 korean movie thats been playing for a couple months now... We had a very disappointing experience at Regency Theatres at The Source today. Before our movie, we dined at one of the restaurants inside The Source and had some leftovers. Because we respect the theater's policy regarding outside food, we specifically asked theater staff if they could store our food for us while we watched the movie. They agreed, and an employee helped us store the food. We wrote down our name and the time we would return after the movie to pick it up. We had absolutely no intention of bringing our leftovers into the auditorium or eating them during the movie. We were simply trying to follow the theater's rules and be respectful. However, once we were inside the theater, we noticed another couple sitting near us with a large bag of outside food and bottled water. They were openly eating and drinking during the movie. We understand that sometimes people sneak food into theaters and staff cannot catch every situation, but this was not subtle at all. It felt unfair that we went out of our way to follow the rules while others appeared to ignore them without any issue. After the movie, when we picked up our food, we politely mentioned the situation to the manager. We were not trying to get anyone in trouble. We simply felt that the rules should be applied consistently to everyone. Unfortunately, what happened next made the experience much worse. As we were walking by, the ticket checker, Mark Kim, loudly yelled at us, "No more outside food next time! No more outside food!" in front of other customers. His tone was rude, confrontational, and loud enough to draw attention from people around us. What made this especially upsetting was that he knew exactly what had happened. He knew we had not brought food into the theater. He knew the theater had agreed to store our leftovers for us before the movie. He knew we were simply picking up the food that staff had been holding for us. Yet he chose to loudly make that comment in public, creating the impression that we had sneaked food into the theater when that was never the case. It felt like we were being publicly embarrassed for raising a concern about inconsistent enforcement of the rules. We actually felt bad when we saw the manager speaking with him because we never intended for him to get in trouble. We only wanted to point out that the rules should apply equally to everyone. Instead, it seemed like he took his frustration out on us. Customers should never be publicly shamed, especially when they were trying to follow the rules from the beginning. If anything, we went out of our way to do the right thing by asking staff to store our leftovers rather than bringing them inside. The inconsistent enforcement of the rules, combined with the rude and unprofessional behavior we experienced afterward, turned what should have been an enjoyable movie outing into a frustrating and embarrassing experience. We left feeling disrespected and unfairly treated. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning to this theater. read more

Been here twice so far. It's a bit far from where we live but once-in-awhile there's a Korean film that is screened here. Went recently saw "No Other Choice" here because basically we literally had no other choice to see it anywhere else because it was at the end of its theater run. How appropriate! Free parking in the structure that is shared with The Source, which is a newish outdoor entertainment/shopping/dining center. It was easy to purchase tickets through their kiosk and a very friendly employee welcomed us and directed us to our theater. The seats are multi/colored and have seen better days. Comfortable yet worn. That's the only downside I must mention. Other than that, I enjoyed the independent theater vibes and feeling. Good sound, smallish screening rooms. Will be back! read more

Came here to watch a 4DX movie. The overall cinema is okay, its clean, spacious, and modern. I wish there were more food options but I liked how they had fresh caramel popcorn and you could get it half and half! The 4DX theater was a decent size, however the hall lights were on the whole time until the movie ended. It may be on a sensor but I thought it was weird that it was on during the movie and turned off every now and then. I'd give this place another try to try the Screen X theater. read more

Make sure you call this theatre direct to confirm if they are showing the movie of your choice in 4DX. If you purchase tickets from Fandango app, it might show you are ordering 4DX but will show up and not be the case. This happened to me! I spoke to the manager in person here and he said that it will always say 4DX on the Fandango app but might not be accurate. Bummer! The pizzas are good here! read more

I had watched Fantastic Four in 4DX here while it was still in theaters and I enjoyed it! We went on Tuesday when they have their discount and 4DX showings also had a discount (although still a bit more expensive than a normal showing). Being bought out by Regency was the worst decision ever. Stepping into the theater it was hot as hell, including the screening room. Aside from the rude service, the theater itself was DIRTY. Like so disgusting, there was clearly no cleaning done between movies. To be specific in case management sees this, Saturday July 5th for 7:05 pm how to train your dragon screening. There was trash and leftover food everywhere. Totally unacceptable for a movie theater. Myself and many others waited such a long time for this place to reopen and I honestly prefer if it just closed down permanently because the reopening was a disgusting disappointment. Went to go see Hoppers in 4DX at the Cinema. Prices are cheaper compared to other theaters. Everyone working there was super helpful and patient. They also have a small little waiting area to sit at before the movies start. The theater was very empty and the seats were spacious. It was like I had the entire movie theater to myself. I enjoyed the 4DX experience but I will say the inside was a little older than other ones. For example, one of the seat handle cushion was close to falling off during the movie which was a little concerning. Overall, I enjoyed my time at CGV and will likely come back again! read more

Plenty of parking in the garage at The Source where this cinema is located. Very modern, clean, and nice cinema. I enjoyed the industrial like decor. We watched a Fantastic Four in 4DX and the theater was so dark even before the movie started. Those seats do not have table so you will need to place your food on the floor. 4DX was definitely worth it and cool to watch an action or thriller movie. read more

OK ... I still have not experienced a "4D" movie yet. Watching a movie at home can be more convenient, and it can be more economical -- but the viewing experience is different, versus watching in a theater. CGV Cinemas is the largest multiplex movie theater chain in South Korea. The movie going experience is a little different than the major American theater chains I typically patronize. During my visit, ticket sales were self-service using a kiosk. They have beer available, as well a different variety of food stuffs. The theaters and restrooms were really clean. The theater seats were clean and comfortable. The décor was classy. The parking structure is easy to navigate and has good access to the theater. The shopping complex has a good variety of shopping and restaurants, if you're looking for some activity before the show. I went to this theater because there was a Korean film I wanted to see; but they show current American films, as well. They have a "$10 Tuesday" ticket special. It's a nice theater. read more

Located in the Source in OC with ample parking available. We have seen a few movies here now. I do think they may need to update their 4DX experience as both times the water was having issues and made a loud noise which took me out of the movie. The seats are spacious and comfortable. We watched another movie in the normal seating and it was very nice. We dont really get food at the theater so cant say much about that. They sell the normal range of food and drink with some extra lunch/dinner like foods. Its does look like they are getting ready to have a bar or something last time I was there. Overall its clean, comfy and spacious. Just needs a bit of fixing. read more

The 6.50 Terra beer was enjoyable. Carmel popcorn wasn't sweet like I'm use to but they offer original butter and also had cheddar flavor and you can get half and half. The theatre was well air conditioned, fresh, and clean. read more

We went to see a movie at 4pm on a hot, weekday and the A/C wasn't working inside the auditorium 3. The ticket ushers were rude and unfriendly, seats were outdated and it smelled inside the auditorium. I wouldn't recommend this theater unless you're visiting the Source Mall for other venues. read more

Yoooooooooooooooooooooo! Dont go to this cinema, the only thing decent here was the popcorn. On tuesdays they charge 9.50 per guest which still isn't too bad but every other move theater only charges $7. Not only is the price more, the seats completely sucks. I gave this place 3 chances, before I gave it a 1 star. First time I realized how hot it is inside the theaters they don't turn on the AC so me and my friends were drenched in sweat after leaving the movies. 2nd time same problem different theater number but still no AC but this time I actually had to come out and tell the guy to turn on the AC and the guy in front said he would let the manager know, during the movie nothing happen it was still hot. 3rd time was yesterday went to watch weapons and I asked the guy in front he will go check with the manager so I go back inside nothing changed so middle of the movie I walk out to look for the manager which is this shorter Latina or Filipina lady wearing a blazer who happens to be the manager and she said she will go back and see if she can do something about it but still nothing happens, I don't see how inside the movies would be so much hotter especially in the summer then outside the theaters, me and all my friends were drenched and soaked in sweat and couldn't even sit still in our seat cause we were wearing t shirts with sweaty backs, after the movies we went to find her and she said she thought she had fixed it but nothing changed. We even heard a lot of people happy the movie ended cause it was too hot inside the theaters and outside was so much of a cooler breeze then inside. It was 80 degrees outside and 81 in the theater. 4DX? We saw F1, it was ok except for the "SUBTITLES" on the bottom third of the screen. The theater was clean, but I have no idea what made this 4DX. Really enjoyed the interactive seats. We had saw Venom and 4 out of the 5 of us haven't tried 4xd seats. First off there wasn't really a filled theater so made for a personal experience. Even during previews we would get a glimpse of what's to come. Once the movie actually started we got used to the moving around as action scenes happened. Might be difficult to enjoy popcorn or nachos as the jolting can happen but would recommend it for a change in routine with movie viewing. read more

Korea based movie theater located inside the source mall. Plenty of parking and easy to find as it's located at the very top floor. I love the popcorn here and the cushy seats (they recline back). There are also showings of movies from Korea that include English subtitles for those who can not understand Korean. For the american/English movies, the subtitles are in Korean. CGV has comfortable seating and is never too crowded. They have showings with Korean subtitles (double check the listing bc some of the showings don't have Korean subs) and the latest Korean movies with English subtitles. The concession stand has at least several flavors of popcorn, all the movie theater usuals, plus a selection of beers. The best way to buy tickets is online...you can select your seats when you buy your tickets. This is my new favorite movie theater! CGV is not only next to one of my favorite food courts in the OC, (AND they've got all the fun and trendy Instagram food finds ie Korean rose (sauce) rice cakes, Korean corn dog, etc) but their movie theater has each level of seating on a riser so it'd be very rare if someone tall is obstructing my view from the screen. I don't think there is a bad seat in the theater. Even if you can't bring in outside food into the theater, I did see they offer rice cakes and I enjoyed their delicous popcorn lathered in butter per my request. On top of the positive movie experience, I had to email their customer service regarding my purchase and they are by far one of the most attentive and helpful interactions I have encountered in such a long while. I appreciate their help I needed when I emailed and I want to continue to support businesses who take care of their customers. The last time I went to a movie theater was to see Top Gun's sequel so that was a while ago, compared to how often I used to visit movie theaters. Thank you so much again, CGV as I don't visit the movie theater much these days, but I will be making a note of it to return to CGV to treat myself to a movie night more often because of your excellent customer service. read more

The seats were not only worn out but they were also so straight they were uncomfortable. Not worth the extra $5 I paid for the ScreenX experience. $25 for a matinee is overpriced. Serves alcohol but only beer. I was excited to see tteokbokki on the menu but felt robbed for the amount I got. I wouldn't call it tteokbokki when it's only a few pieces of rice cakes swimming in a sweet cheese sauce. The older Krikorian Movie Theaters down the street would have been a better choice, for comfort and price value. I have already been here a few times, and I enjoyed every single occasion. It is located at The Source in Buena Park at the fourth or top-level of this place. Make sure you reserve spots in the theater before you show up. Otherwise, you can choose what is available at the screen just left of the concession's desk. Speaking of the concessions area, there is a special popcorn and beverage deal that can save you some money if you're already getting popcorn and beverage. You can probably share this between 2 people. They also have beer on tap for sale. If you don't want to wait in the specific line for beer, you can actually order it along with the rest of your snacks popcorn and other various treats. They don't actually fill up the beer to the brim of the cup, but that is likely because they don't want you to spill it on the way to your theater. The theaters themselves are very clean and uncomfortable. The sound is great, and you can adjust the seats however you feel necessary. Parking: It is the structure that is connected to the rest of the building. Parked towards the fourth level, which is closest to the theater. That way, you don't have to switch floors. read more

With Korean media entertainment on the rise thanks to Squid Game and Parasite, one does not have to search far to find a cinema playing in their voice with subtitles. So I went to CGV movie theatre, owned by CJ Entertainment (an offshoot branch of Samsung), to watch a Korean film. The location is on the top floor of The Source mall. The ticketing booth is nonexistent. However, purchasing tickets and concession snacks are on the same line. Because I watched evening showtime on a weekday, I didn't experience any delays. Their best concession snacks are the FLAVORED-POPCORNS with CARAMEL or CHEESE. They have 4DX SCREENS, and for anyone interested in watching an American film in Korean subtitles and vice versa, a Korean movie in English subtitles. The seats were comfortable with faux leather seats. The size was ideal for a small Asian frame, so unsure if the seat size is an issue for those who are plump. Also, I loved their CLEAN facility, FREE parking, and TUESDAY MOVIE MATINEE ~ $6 per ticket. Lastly, tickets can be purchased ahead on their website to reserve the best seating. read more

Disappointed in my Experience today Saturday 06/20. I went to a screening of Disneys Elio and choose this theatre based on reviews and the availability of the ScreenX option. AC not working in my theatre today auditorium 4. And even through my Fandango ticket stated ScreenX it was a Standard screening. I really wanted to like this this place and make it my new home theatre but it was a total fail for me. read more

we went to see Beetlejuice movie it was on 4DX where your seat moves simultaneously when there is action on the movie. It's ok but expensive. For the 2 of us, it costs us $40. The first time I visited CGV, it had just opened at the source. The source was so empty at the time and not full of businesses at it is now. It's so great to see how much the business and center has grown! I highly recommend the flavored popcorn here. They usually have 2 flavors on display. The theater seats are comfortable. They are not lay flat seats but I don't mind because they're already comfortable and well cushioned. The staff is very friendly and the restrooms are pretty nice. It's been a good experience every time I come to watch a movie here. read more

Easy to get to, and I like that you can order tickets on a self-serve kiosk. The Coke freestyle machines are also nice. I wish they offered to put butter on the popcorn or had a butter dispenser by the soda machine like some other theaters. I did get butter when I asked, and the employee took butter out of a small fridge (or heating thing?) and ladled some on. The theater I was in seemed kind of old and the seats were not that comfortable. Maybe some of the other theaters are nicer. read more

My wife put it best, the "sparkle" is gone from this theater. I remember when this place opened and the 4DX was something innovative. We have seen so many great movies in this format, tops were Pirates of Caribbean and Logan. Now no one works the front ticket booths. A skeleton crew runs the concessions/ticket booth now. The bat in far side never really launched. The seats in the 4DX theater now look worn, dingy and had to brush them off. It simply didn't feel like a special experience any longer, more like a worn down carnival ride. Topping it off the picture just felt off. It was shaking and blurry. We went and got the employees, they were quick to come take a look. It was for sure off, but nothing they could do. They don't have someone on staff to help. They offered a refund if we wanted to leave or a voucher if we wanted stay. It was a big deal to a sitter and get out to see the film here. So disappointing. I won't comment on the price as I got in for screening, but overall I was surprised going inside this theater for the first time. The inside hallways are decorated very nicely, kinda like a brick and cobblestone esque aesthetic. One highlight was the staff was super organized for the screening and straightforward. However, the seating did surprise me for what I'd expect of a korean theater. To be honest the look and stiffness of the seats kind of remind me of school chairs lol. But nice atmosphere. read more

We came to watch Shang chi; we got the 4d tickets online. Went in about 10 mins before the show time to get drinks and popcorns. The movie and the 4d experience were so great! Most of the people inside wore masks when they were not drinking or eating. The bathroom needs a lot of works. It's small and also very dirty (no one cleans it), hope management takes notes. Parking is free and come a little earlier, walk around and grab some snacks before heading to the movie! read more
