We were already full! Then our main orders came... biryana, kabobs, and curries... all delicious and all authentically prepared. When we could not have another bite, we were treated with the most wonderful gulab jamun. Most of us had enough leftovers for another meal! I strongly recommend that you visit Aladdin. I suspect you will be very happy!

From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of home-style dining. The staff were polite, friendly, and very attentive, making sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. I ordered several Bengali dishes, and every item was full of rich flavor and traditional taste. The rice was fresh and perfectly cooked, the curries were well-balanced with spices, and the fish and meat dishes were tender and delicious. The bhorta, dal, and vegetable items tasted just like homemade food, which is hard to find in many restaurants. The aroma and presentation of the food made the experience even better. What I loved most was the authenticity. You can truly feel that the chefs understand Bengali cuisine and prepare each dish with care. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and taste. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and suitable for families, friends, or even solo dining. Whether you are missing Bangladeshi flavors or simply want to explore traditional Bengali food, this place is a great choice. Overall, Aladdin Restaurant is a hidden gem in DC for Bengali food lovers. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back again.

Well, this WAS my go-to spot for Indian food buffet, but I think this may be my last visit. This is…read moreone of the few Indian restaurants that still offer buffet. They still have a full buffet, but now I'm wondering if everything is actually freshly made or reheated since there are so few customers and they have daily buffet. Maybe they have more crowds during the weekday buffet from nearby businesses. The butter chicken used to be delicious, but this visit, it was just too heavy on the tomato flavor. The raita (yogurt) tasted a little sour, not sure if it was old or spoiled. The staff were the same, one woman stands there staring off into space (or out the window) and eventually picks up dirty dishes. Don't get me wrong, she is very sweet, but it's a little uncomfortable sitting at the window and she's just standing there facing our direction. The guy who rings us out, just sits there at his counter, this time I did see him getting food from the buffet, but he doesn't do much else. Then there are staff that sit on one side of the dining room eating....they seated us away from that side, so I guess that's why. This as well as my last couple visits, there weren't many customers dining. Actually, there were were more staff eating in the dining area than there were customers. The table cloths, curtains, walls, bathroom area are still dirty....and have been even from my pre-pandemic visits. I think that was the final straw for me. This is such a nice strip mall, there is no reason for this restaurant to look like or worse than a "hole in the wall" restaurant. Would I return? No, sadly I won't. Would I recommend it? Definitely not.
