Got the Avocado and it tasted so strange. I'm Vietnamese and grew up drinking Avocado Boba. Thanh Son Tofu does a great job. 4 Sisters Snack Bar is another good example. What I got from T Zone was not creamy and flavorful... just watered down, bland, with an odd after-taste. I couldn't even finish it. The drinks here are delicious. They have a wide selection of fun beverages to try. The Purple Purple and coffee are delicious. The crepes on the other hand, are a different story. Unfortunately the crepe I received was very subpar. I ordered a classic strawberry and banana Nutella crepe and the crepe itself felt undercooked and too thick. It was soft but somehow also crumbled into a mess when I stuck my fork in it and was very pale in color. I finally made it out here after browsing all the pictures and menus on Yelp. I had my heart set on trying the "cheese tea". It's a little bit of a tricky spot to find, just look for the cold stone it's next to that. The review is solely based on them not having the drink I wanted and what I actually ended up ordering. The inside was very inviting with the wall of snacks and knick knacks, then a wall with "love" deco. And the employee greeted us immediately. There are just too many items to choose from for teas, snacks, etc. I originally came here to try the cheese tea, but of course, they were sold out since it's a popular drink. Now with that being said, I was clueless as to what else I should get. I've already tasted, macarons, croffles, Etc. I ended up getting the croissant with chocolate ice cream since I've never seen that combo before. While hesitantly ordering, I was very confused about how to eat it and asked her. I originally asked her to put the ice cream on the side, but she was insistent on putting it on the croissant. She was actually super nice about the whole thing though, and gave an extra scoop since I was sharing it with someone. That was very generous of her! However I did not really enjoy the chocolate croissant only because it was very hard to eat. The croissant was very tough and we couldn't even cut it with a knife. We saw this place on Instagram and was really interested because it seemed to be really unique. While they did have a pretty big menu with some unique options, I honestly don't think it was anything special. First of all, there were only 2 people working and they seemed to be pretty young, so I felt bad how rushed they seem. On the other hand, it was a Saturday evening, so they definitely should've had more people working. It's a pretty small place, so there was a lot of people and barely anywhere to sit, so a lot of people were standing while they waited. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and 40 minutes for our food. The Ube Shake was really good and tasted like authentic ube, which I find to be rare in boba shops. But my drink didn't even come with boba, which I did pay extra for. The ramen, however, was nothing special. I liked the assortment of toppings, but it definitely didn't justify the price. The service was excellent: I was greeted from first walking in and the boba barista was very patient with me because it was my first time trying their boba teas. They also gave great recommendations and told me about how local favorites are going to taste. I ordered the Strawberry Lemon Tea with light ice and 50% sweetness/sugar. It was really good! I had a craving for good boba and this tea hit the spot! I really liked that they had fruits in them, too. I didn't have the opportunity to try any of their desserts and food things, but I will definitely try to stop by and try some another time. The tea shop looks so cute and comfortable. They have tables and chairs as well as cozy cushioned couches. They also have manga series available for people to read, if they wish to hang out at the shop and chill. It's so cute; I love it! Our car was at CarMax being appraised. They said it would be about an hour so we jetted here for a snack. What caught my eye as we walked in was these wooden crates in the middle of the floor. You have to walk around them to get to the counter. There's stuff for sale in them and it reminded me of those stuffy old stores with items in cardboard boxes. As we were on a timeline I went right around those boxes for the menu, which is a large laminated item with pictures. We got the small matcha bing su and a Vietnamese coffee with almond milk. Once we were at a table my dining partner was commenting on how well the walls were done. I didn't even look up to see the artistry on the walls due to the crates on the floor. The space - minus the crates - is extremely well thought out and perfect for people who are into pictures for social media. We noticed many possible "Instagram worthy" scenarios. The bing su was really good, full of color and unexpected treats. And oddly the Vietnamese coffee with almond milk was also excellent. I came in at 9:35 to order a dessert, waited 10 minutes for my order, then the young lady at the front called my order name, I go up and she tells me that she can't make my order because it's past 30 mins before closing and she didn't hear that the order was a dessert... once again at a dessert bar. Decided to check out this place since I was in the area. Randomly stumbled upon it via Yelp and I'm really glad I did. The place is really cute, small but spacious. Staff was kind and had patience as I asked for a lot of recommendations. I bought the grilled pork banh mi, Dubai chocolate strawberries and large original Thai tea with boba. Everything costed about $28. I felt a little overwhelmed with the selections and became indecisive so the cashier recommend getting the Thai tea which was really good. Thankfully it wasn't too sweet and the boba was really soft and chewy but not too gummy. Since I had to drive an hour back, the food got a little cold but still tasted fresh. The chocolate on the strawberries hardened especially since it was pretty cold but it still tasted good. Strawberries were sweet and pistachio creme with the kunafa was delicious. The banh mi was fresh and flavorful. I thought it would get soggy with the pickled vegetables and meat but surprisingly the crust of the baguette was still flakey while soft. Probably one of the best banh mi I've had in a while. My usual go-to spots are in falls church so this was a nice surprise. Unfortunately I was unable to take any pictures since we devoured it upon arriving home. I wish this place was closer but I'm really excited to have found a new spot! This used to be my favorite bubble tea place in Northern Virginia. Not anymore. This evening I ordered a "Cherry Vanilla" which at $12 is one of the most expensive drinks on the menu. The drink came out in about 7 or 8 minutes, not great, not awful. It looked as I expected it would. I took the drink back to the table and a second or two after I took this picture I lightly bumped the cheap IKEA foam-board table and knocked the drink over. Certainly part of that was my fault, but the drink (dish?) was incredibly top-heavy and unstable, served in the wrong container, and on a flimsy tray that added to the unsteadiness. That was the first issue. The staff there was pretty ambivalent to it. One of them helped me clean up the mess. The other two sort of ignored it. I was not offered a replacement drink or a refund, which while I probably would not have accepted would have been the right thing to do -- second issue. I also asked to speak to a manager not because the staff did anything necessarily wrong but because of the way the drink was served. Turns out there was no manager available and they were not available by phone. That's the part that really gets this place a two out of five stars -- having high school aged kids work Christmas Eve without a manager around or available. Stuff happens. Drinks get served in the wrong container. Things get knocked over. But not having support for staff -- that's a choice by the owner/supervisor and it's unacceptable in my book. I won't be going here again, or any other place that treats its staff this poorly. I think this is the root cause of why this place has gotten so much worse -- management just doesn't care. Edited: I looked over the other reviews of this place in the last few month and it tracks. This place was fantastic and it went downhill in 2022. The Yelp 4-star average is due to the high ratings from 2021 and before. The reviews from 2022 average out to about a 3 out of 5, which seems about right for this place. Edited again: The owner and I exchanged a few emails about this situation. They essentially continued to blame their staff for not being sufficiently trained. I'm lowering my review to one star. read more

A short trip later, I arrived ready to pick out a refreshing drink on a warm summer day. The menu has a lot of cool combinations. My friend and I settled on the fruit drinks-- the I love T zone drink was super refreshing! I was hungry too and decided to order the bánh mì thịt nướng. It was perfect for a mini-lunch. The one thing that I really liked about this place is that they were actually open before noon. A lot of boba places (see: Kung Fu) don't open until noon, so I was really happy that I could get my boba fix earlier in the day. The interior of T zone is really cute and it's well-decorated. The first thing you see when you step in is a stand full of colorful snacks from different cultures. They have flavors of KitKat and other snacks you would never imagine to find... and weekly sales! There is tons of seating and the menus are located by the register and consists of a wide range of options from milk teas, fruit teas, ice blends, to honey toasts, waffles, and crepes. There is even several Vietnamese dishes you can order from if you're feeling something savory. I tried the Rose Peach Oolong Tea with added boba and it comes with cream cheese already, which had a perfect mild flavor to top off the fruity drink. The store looks new, open, and clean, however the service is a bit slow and since it wasn't too busy, it was very quiet without music. Some of the workers there seemed a bit awkward and standoffish. I ordered a milk tea, banh mi dac biet, and vermicelli noodles. We were the only customers there at the time, but it still took a good amount of time to get our order (a good 15 minutes). The milk tea was good and flavorful. Not overly sweet. The banh mi was good too, and the bread was buttery and savory. It would've been even better if the bread was lightly toasted! The vermicelli noodles were alright, but nothing notable. This place also sells some pork buns, Asian candies, and other desserts like macarons and larger more decadent drink options. read more
