Came to Cha Cha's a couple times many years ago. First time here on a taco Tuesday, where tacos are 50% off along with 50% off tequila. It's available for dine in only after 3 PM. When we arrived around 6:30 PM, there was a short waiting period of about 20 minutes or so for our party of three. The parking lot was pretty full as well. It's a big center with Target nearby. There are plenty of spaces but further away if you don't mind walking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty loud inside the restaurant with all the tables filled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chips and two salsas were brought out and we liked the red salsa over the green salsa. The chips were not as tasty. Our server was pretty friendly and made some recommendations on his favorite tacos. I chose the shrimp and short rib, which were his favorites and also a fish taco. The plate also comes with black beans and rice. It was pretty good. I enjoyed the shrimp and a short rib, the most. The meat had a little kick to it and it was tender and flavorful. I'm looking forward to returning again with more family and friends.

Really impressed with the enchiladas here! Both the rice and beans were enjoyable too! I loved the complimentary chips, they were so good and perfect touch to our meal! We said this was the best Mexican food we've had since our honeymoon in Cabo at Chileno Bay. 10/10 service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My margarita was strong but smooth! The asada fajitas were to die for. They aren't on the actual menu but can ask for them at any time.

Big upgrade from our last visit. The manager reached out and invited us back for a better experience so we visited last night for an early dinner. Service was excellent! Coming in early we sat on the patio and really enjoyed the beautiful weather. Ceviche sampler was solid. Everything was pre boiled and a little tough but the flavor was on point after some extra lime. You get a lot for your $$. Cha Cha's food really packs flavor. My wife's salad was so perfectly seasoned and the steak was cooked perfectly. This is one of the better salads I've had in a long time. The Ropa Vieja was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked shredded beef with a beautiful sauce served with their very flavorful rice and black beans. I even loved the smashed, fried plantain on top. Much better than our last visit, I see what the hype is about.

I go to Cha Cha's often to imbibe, good food and well-made margaritas. As busy as it was last evening, I saw this set of drinks that had been prepared for a table of guests, and I thought now that is cocktails done right with fresh juices, good spirits and colorful presentation. It was worth taking a photo and posting. The bartenders can be very proud of their work. Bravo & Salud!

Finally got a chance to try this place out. There's ample parking. Ambiance has an authentic Spanish feel. Restaurant is open, clean & spacious, is open and nice. Service was fantastic. We felt their warmth, friendliness and tended to. We ordered the following dishes for 2: *Ceviche sampler: duo shrimp ceviche & ahi aguachile. Preferred the shrimp ceviche. The ahi was a bit too fishy. *Fresh seafood caldo was fantastic with great sampling of fresh shrimp, clams, fish, squid, herbs, light toasted angel hair pasta on a bed of savory saffron tomato broth. The dish was very fresh & flavorful; my favorite. Would definitely come back just for this!! Three enchilada combo came with rice & tasty beans. Libations: Mango-Habanero signature cocktail & Cha Cha's Margarita. Solid amount of alcohol. Chips with salsa - I preferred the red salsa more than the green salsa but both were good.

Absolutely love their restaurant week menu. For $40, you get an appetizer, entree and dessert. They do take reservations which is great. We waited a bit for our table but then got seated. I enjoy their complimentary chips and salsa. The aquiles was very fresh and light for a hot day. My absolute favorite is their salmon dish!! Love the sauce they use! It's absolutely delicious and I usually get it with all veggies which is also great! This place is always busy! And they always have specials during the week. Must give it a try! SYOY!

My new favorite Mexican restaurant, great location, with easy parking. I can go shopping and stop by for a quick meal. The house chips are thin and freshly made, their salsas are legit, they have a range of non spicy, to mild and very spicy options. I had a taco trio, they allowed special order substitutions, and our orders came out just the way we ordered thank you.

Shoutout to Crystal for being an amazing server! She checked up on us the perfect amount of times and paced our courses exactly how we asked. Personally, I'd recommend eating everything here family style. Apps: Aguachile & cheese potato taquitos The aguachile was refreshing and was PERFECT to eat with the complimentary chips. The taquitos were amazing, no notes. Mains: carnitas & crab and shrimp enchiladas The carnitas came in a sizzling plate and was so tender that it was falling apart on the fork. The enchiladas had a delicious creamy green sauce and the crab flavor was very strong.

We've been to The Cha Cha's in Brea, much bigger. Our server was Sofia S, very nice and friendly.. I had the Nachos, quite different than most nachos and I ate them all. My husband had the 3 taco's, said they were OK. I had the large Cadillac margarita, excellent "but" if I had know it was $29, would have gotten a smaller one. Our friends were with us and they also enjoyed their meal as they don't have Mexican restaurants near where they live. She had enchiladas and he had Carnitas..

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious Mexican food, a beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were very pleased with our experience. The food was flavorful, and the tacos were especially amazing. On Taco Tuesday, they offered a great deal -- 3 tacos with small sides of rice and beans for only $9. Margaritas were around $24-$25, and beers were about $6. The calamari was excellent, and the ceviche was very good as well.

Tried this place last night for the first time. They sat us in the "parking lot" at first, no heaters, so we asked to move inside, the hostesses didn't like that so they sat us in their darkest corner despite plenty of open tables. We didn't have coats on, why was that such a big deal, we're from SoCal and wimps with the weather. Food was underwhelming, not terrible, just not good. Seasoning was off, this is supposed to be a Latin kitchen... where's the spice? The flavor? The Taco restaurant in the same strip mall has better food, go there before you waste your time here. read more

My hubby and I happened to end up in Irvine on a Saturday night around dinner time, and so naturally, I was given the task to find a place to eat. We were feeling Mexican food and Cha Cha's came up, given the solid reviews we decided to try and out and I'm so glad we did! The ambiance was so cute! I loved the wide open floor plan of the restaurant, which I'm not exactly used to in LA. They had a live band, and they were singing, the JAMS! Since the vibe was great, we were excited to try the food. I ordered the Short Rib Enchilada and my husband ordered the Carne Asada, both were divine! If I were local to Irvine, I'd frequent this place for sure. read more

LOVE this place! The ambience was very fluid, nice lighting, music was great! The service was fast and everyone was proficient and polite. %50 off all enchilada plates every WEDNESDAY... I had the trio; shrimp and crab, and chicken.. he had the Short Rib enchilada OMG it was amazing! It's one enchilada but it's double stacked like enchilada PIE!!! Delicious!! And whatever that spicy sauce is called they need to bottle it and sell it! read more

Cha Cha's has to be one of the most overrated places i've ever been at. How it has 4 and a half stars is beyond me. My boyfriend and I came for lunch. The restaurant itself is very cute. Super hipster if that's what your looking for. The food is elevated mexican dishes that were over priced and definitely not as good as your local hole in the wall mexican joint. We got the chicken quesadilla which was good... $11 dollars good? I've had better for cheaper. We got the ceviche. Which sucked. It had no flavor. It lacked the acidity and not enough salt. $13 bucks. Cool. Chicken enchilladas - $17 for the blandest chicken enchilladas ever to exist. Got 3 tacos. Carnitas, short rib and steak mojo. Carnitas was good. Other two were bland. The food here completely misses the mark. IF you are going to charge these prices for BASIC mexican food, do it better. Or dont do it at all. Service was great. Our girl was super friendly and suggested margs. We got some and found them to be refreshing. But honestly, we couldn't really enjoy ourselves because this damn restaurant was LEGIT 90 EFFING degrees inside. It was SO hot and humid outside already. They had ceiling fans going on and ALL of their garage style doors OPEN. It was hot AF outside. And it was hot AF inside. It made for a completely awful eating experience. We were sweating. Are you guys mental? Do you think people wanna eat in a hot ass restaurant? and not even that, eat mediocre food? Our bill was close to $100 and for what? Shitty food and sweat running down your back. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I will start by saying the staff is very friendly. I got there earlier than my reservation and they were able to seat us right away. I came with a party of six and they brought the first 2 plates 10 minutes before everyone else's which was odd. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, nothing special very Americanized in taste. The chips and salsa were surprisingly good. We also ordered a few appetizers, the fries were a small portion while the calamari was a good size. read more

Great food, better ambiance, fantastic staff. Went with family and friends for date night. Sat at the hightop table so we could watch the Lakers Warriors game. Forgot the name of the guy taking care of us but we were cracking jokes with him the whole time. Was great fun. Drinks were a bit expensive but everything else was great. read more

Tips: -Everyday they have a deal - Mondays: BOGO entrees after 5pm, Tuesdays: 50% off tequilas, Wednesdays: 50% off enchiladas, Thursdays: Tapas starting at $4 and sangria specials, Sundays: Bottomless Mimosas, etc. (Check their website or the Retail Therapy app for deals!) -Get the chicken flautas (so good!) -Ask for more chips and salsa because their salsa is so delicious I came here because I've seen a lot of photos of this restaurant on Instagram, and I saw that there BOGO entree coupon. I decided to give it a shot and see what the hype is about! I came on Sunday in the early afternoon around 3pm, and there was no wait because there were not that many people at that time. This restaurant is located in the Tustin Marketplace, and there is a lot of parking since it is in a shopping plaza. I love the ambiance of this place because it is cool, hip, and nicely decorated, and the place itself was big with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating (tell them which you prefer). We ordered the chicken flautas ($10), carnitas entree ($19), and short ribs enchiladas ($19). The waitress was super nice to us and gave us tortilla chips and 2 kinds of salsa. The red salsa was so delicious - I kept coming back for more! She noticed that we devoured the salsa, so she gave us a couple refills on that and the chips. The chicken flautas came out first, and it was so delicious. I love the mango salsa and sour cream because they complemented the chicken flautas really well. She could also tell we liked it so much because we finished the whole thing by the time she came to check up on us. Now, the reason why I gave the restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 was because I thought the entrees were not as great as the appetizer we had. The carnitas was good - it came on a cast iron skillet - and had tender pork and delicious onions and tomatoes topped with it, making the dish sweet. I do think the flavor was there, but it needed something more to it. I love how they give rice, beans, and tortillas on the side, but I wish they gave bigger portions of them. The carnitas entree was open faced instead of wrapped around the meat, so there was meat on top and on the bottom of the corn tortilla. The dish was sort of flavorful, but the meat was dry. I just felt like the entrees weren't too great, but the appetizer was very delicious. The portions are really good because I left the place feeling full, and the menu was decently priced, especially with the BOGO deal. My overall experience is good. I loved the service because the waitresses were really nice, and the place was beautiful. I was a little disappointed in the entrees, but I would definitely recommend this place because the appetizer was amazing. I would probably come back and try the other appetizers and perhaps try other entrees on the menu. read more

I've been to this restaurant a few times and have had pleasant experiences by all the staff. During my most recent visit, I was welcomed with the rudest and most unwelcoming hostesses. I came with a large group, which included my grandparents, and we were willing to wait for a table. We even offered the hostesses to sit separately to make it easier on them. The hostess with glasses rudely responded to me saying, "no, that's too much work for our servers", which I understand but could have been said in a friendly manner. Additionally, we asked for an updates on our wait time as we have waited 45 min and were greeted with another rude response. The young, blonde hostess rudely responded to my family member saying "I already told you, the wait is an hour". We felt so unwelcomed during that short experience that we decided to leave and find another restaurant. Thank you Sol in Irvine for accommodating us with such a friendly manner! read more

We've been here several times, the salmon is excellent and the choices of food on the menu are very good. It's generally not a long wait to get in, it's more of a challenge to find a parking spot but parking on the other side of the big driveway (the one that connects to Irvine Blvd) is a good way to go. Service is great initially but then the wait staff seems to get busy with other tables, it doesn't really bother me because 1) at that point we have our food and 2) they need to reappear at some point if they'd like a cursory tip. A good deal is to purchase their gift cards, occasionally they go on sale, get $140 for $100. read more

This place is great for a casual date night. They have some great deals during the week, and events like live music on the weekend. Be sure to get in on those deals, otherwise it can be a bit pricey. Between two people, we were able to get combo enchiladas and try almost all the types. The food was good but not amazing. Free chips and salsa and friendly staff. The not 5 is due to it being pricey during regular times and the food not being a standout. read more

Dined outdoors during Covid. Felt super safe, and Hector our server moved us to sit by the heater - so kind! The service was amazing and Hector checked in on us often. Also the food was so good. Beyond! I am blown away. Cha Cha's was a last minute decision on a Sunday night- the options were limited and our hunger was real. We walked in with no expectations but thus far very much enjoying the atmosphere and vibes. We were seated and immediately attended to by Carlos Luis; he was kind, patient, helpful and funny. He went above and beyond with his service! Delivery was FAST and food was hot hot hot! Everything was delicious and perfectly flavored. To finish out, when asking for a box to go, Carlos Luis not only brought a box out for my extra flautas but in addition a fresh box of chips and salsa to go! Can you say incredible? Best margs in Irvine/Tustin! Plus, free chips and salsa (the green salsa is amazing). Their taco Tuesday deal is so good, you get a lot of bang for your buck and the tacos are incredible. I like the fish tacos and my husband loves the mushroom tacos (he's not vegetarian, he just likes them the best!). The calamari and shrimp is also delicious. read more

I really want to say this place is amazing but the food is mediocre. Service, presentation, drinks, and yummy endless chips and salsa was great though. I had the tacos and calamari appetizer and it was just ok. I think if the tacos tortilla was freshly toasted it probably would have made a big different. It was a thick corn and very dense. :( BUT chips and salsa...can't beat that. Yum! read more

This place is unreal good! From the different house margaritas to the open faced enchilada's with braised short ribs they food is incredible. Also great kick in spice on their Shrimp Ceviche. So worth every bite and the service is always friendly. read more

Been here 3 times. All three times the servers are so rude (almost like those restaurants that are purposely rude) but there's nothing funny about it over there. Typical over priced American Mexican food (sad). They refuse to serve happy hour anywhere except the bar or high tops even when the restaurant is SLOW. Visit #3 had 7 tables including mine occupied and they would not give us happy hour (at 4PM on a Monday) on the patio. Anytime someone suggests coming here I try to persuade them otherwise. I came to cha Cha's after work on Friday with my friends and sat at the bar top there was a bit of a wait for the chairs. But no worries as soon as one opened up the Bartender Nick invited us to sit and took our orders. He was very polite and great positive attitude. There was a bit of rude guests next to us I noticed and he handled them very professionally. And then continued to handle all his orders. With a timely manner and no wait for our drinks. He gave us a memorable experience and fantastic service if your ever coming here I would 100% definitely recommend asking to be seated in his section. Thank you Nick!!! read more

Went here with my friends to celebrate our birthdays (total 4 celebrants). Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Sangria was really good but got me tipsy very quick. I ordered my three enchilada combo which is pretty good but I love the friend's seafood caldo more. Will be back to get more of that and try other dishes. Service was kinda slow (instead of getting our order when the nacho and dip were served they came back to get the order for our appetizer then another trip again to get our main courses) but then they were busy. read more

Oak barrels used for aging whiskey are set around and the general vibe was very attractive. Everyone was having a great time and making quite a lot of noise from all the conversation and the music, but people were really enjoying themselves. If you want to have a quiet conversation with someone, this is probably not your place, but if you want a fun time with that kind of vibe, it is an excellent place. I recommend Bosscat highly.

On the reservation request I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary, so once we were seated they brought out a little "Happy Anniversary" card signed by the whole staff. It was a very thoughtful touch! We started by ordering a Summer Barrel Aged Cocktail to drink. It reminded me of an Old Fashioned. It was good! I personally tend to like sweeter drinks a bit more, but I was in the mood for something different from my usual and this sounded like an interesting flavor combination, so I was happy with my choice. Next we ordered short rib croquettes as a starter, and the seafood risotto and the branzino as the mains. The food didn't take very long to come out. The short rib croquettes were amazing! It definitely left you wanting more. I honestly would have ordered that as a main, it was that good. The seafood risotto was so rich and flavorful. It had a creamy, buttery texture with a mild seafood flavor but not overpowering. It was a beautiful saffron color too. The branzino was also excellent. In short, we loved all the food and we left feeling very full with even a bit of food leftover. We skipped dessert since we were just too full. Overall, everything about this place was great - good service, great food, and a nice ambiance. The parking situation is also super easy since there's a large garage right next to it and they validate. It seems to be in a business park so the garage was pretty empty by 6pm on a Friday.

My only complaint was that the bread was burnt/charred and very hard. They brought out new bread for us, it was softer but tasted a little stale. 4. They were out of the Branzino and the sea bass crudo (2 items we wanted to try). But went with the chicken. Super juicy and the aji sauce was pretty good. It came with quinoa as well. I usually never order chicken at an upscale restaurant but since they were out of the items I wanted to try I went with it. Not something I would order again to be honest, but it was definitely good. 5. The seafood risotto is a must! Amazing and one of the best I've had! Came with blue crab, shrimp, and lobster! 6. Went with the peach butter cake for dessert. Good flavor! But the butter cake itself was not as soft/moist as I hoped. Mastros butter cake has set the bar, and I am always comparing butter cakes to Mastros. But definitely worth a try! Overall, really enjoyed the dinner, even with some bumps, waitress was super accommodating and checked on us often!

I don't even know where to start. My family and I had a HORRIBLE experience here last night. It is still unbelievable to us how the owner here is running his business and relying on the so called "manager", who doesn't have a grain of manner, etiquette, or knowledge of how to be a proper restaurant manager. What happened during our dinner was shocking and I am still trembling with rage. I wanted to write a review so the owner can try to fix this issue before anyone else has any negative encounters with this manager (we didn't get his name but he is tall, has a big potbelly, hairy man with brown hair and beard). My parents took me and my friend to the restaurant around 10pm. They were going to treat me and my friend to dinner. Long story short, right after my parents ordered their food & drinks, my dad noticed he lost his wallet (which had a large amount of cash and many important credit cards) and so my parents panicked and left to go to our store to look for it. Around 10:45, our server asked if we needed a to-go box, so I decided to ask if we could pay for the bill with a manual card entry with my mom's credit card info so we can go help my dad look for his wallet. If they said they couldn't do that, then I was just going to call and let my parents know to come back & pay for the bill, or find some other way to pay. But then, the manager came being INCREDIBLY rude. The first thing he said was "so you guys going to pay now?" We were surprised by his attitude and so we tried to explain the situation. However, he kept interrupting us saying, "If you don't have money why did you come eat here?" and being extremely pushy saying "you know there's a bank across the street right?" We were shocked as there were still at least 5 parties left in the restaurant, and he could've been more polite and let us wait until our parents came back. But he was acting as if they were going to close the restaurant that second and we needed to pay NOW. My friend was so pissed she just decided to pay for it with her card, even though my parents were the one that was supposed to buy her dinner. After we paid for the bill, I called my parents and let them know what happened and the manager's rude behavior towards us. My parents were shocked & came back in within 10 minutes. When my dad came back & confronted him, the first thing the manager said was "I don't want to hear this. I am going to call security to escort you out. You paid for your bill & you don't have any reason to still be here." And later even said "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE." This pushed my entire family and I over the edge. The security came, and even the security acknowledged there's nothing he can do as we already paid for our bill and still had our drinks left. My dad was pointing his finger at the manager, asking why he's being such an asshole towards us, and the manager LITERALLY said that that was ASSAULT (wow, didn't know pointing a finger at someone was assault) and was going to call the cops. We said GO AHEAD. So the manager called the cops, the whole time sneering & mocking us while grinning with one of the servers working there (the server was a scrawny guy with slicked back black hair and dark circles under his eyes.) The cops came, and we told them the situation and the cops told us we can file a complaint with corporate and leave a review on Yelp, so that's what we are doing. (Thank you so much!! ) The cops even told us "I completely understand how you guys feel, if someone did that to my kids, I'd be just as upset." The manager outright lied and said he "never said those things" even though my friend and I CLEARLY heard him say it. At one point, my mom was using the restroom and the server with the dark eye bags told me to "get your mom out of there." I said, "she's peeing right now, she's just using the restroom. What, do you want me to break down the stall and force her out?" and he said "YES EXACTLY. GET HER OUT OF THERE." There is SO MUCH MORE to what happened last night, but I wanted to keep this review concise. I am still in complete shock as to what happened and the AUDACITY of the manager and that server to treat PAYING CUSTOMERS like that. We are going to find out the manager and that server's name and file an official complaint. We're going to do everything we can from filing a complaint to corporate to letting everyone we know not to visit this establishment. read more

We had reserved an indoor table due to the absence of online alternatives. However, upon arrival, we were dismayed by the unbearable indoor noise caused by loud music and echoing. The restaurant was crowded, with clattering utensils and shouting children. Consequently, we requested an outdoor table. The hostess, resembling a stern teacher, responded, 'You initially reserved indoors and now seek an outdoor spot. Unfortunately, we don't currently have an available table for you. The wait time will be about 5-10 minutes.' Notably, several outdoor tables remained empty, and two-thirds of indoor tables were vacant. I'm inclined to deduct one star for the inflexible demeanor. The waiter was friendly and polite. Despite some errors, the service was acceptable. --- Ceviche Sampler $16 - Includes shrimp ceviche & ahi aguachile: The shrimp ceviche's bold flavor and freshness stood out, while the ahi was tiny. Pickled carrots accompanied the ceviche instead of traditional accompaniments like nachos or lettuce, with the flavor being too intense to consume alone. --- Cha Cha's Margarita; $15 each: It resembled expensive cough syrup. --- Crispy Calamari + Shrimp $16 - Served with calabasitas, serrano chili, and lime-cilantro aioli: Unexpectedly, fried lemon slices with seeds were served. Out of curiosity, I took a nip. Curiosity does kill the cat. It's horrible. Their taste was unpleasant due to a mixture of acidity and bitterness. Most of the dish comprised fried vegetables, 3 shrimps, and 6 squid pieces (including 4 heads). While the shrimp was well-fried, the rest seemed like kitchen scraps. The watery sauce lacked flavor and fragrance. The dish should be renamed "Kitchen Scraps Tempura with Shrimp and Squid Heads." --- Carne Asada $32 - Marinated Skirt Steak with roasted potatoes, achiote onions, poblano peppers, and fresh chimichurri: The skirt steak was cooked well but lacked flavor. Although lightly salted chimichurri was present, the dish required more seasoning. The roasted potatoes were bitter and dry, with grilled cactus and cheese sharing the same fate. Surprisingly, even the margarita glass had more salt than the steak. The manager attributed this to the marination process but couldn't explain the lack of salt on the other components. What's your secret for marinating the meat? Alkaline water ? To enhance the flavor, I requested extra chimichurri and salt. The restaurant charging $3 for extra chimichurri seemed unjust, akin to a tourist trap. They tacked on an extra 3 dollars to the cocktails, as if we were diving into jumbo-sized drinks. But when we pointed out that we hadn't ordered the supersized margaritas, they unveiled their grand revelation: It's 3 dollars for the chimichurri sauce that was supposed to grace my steak. Despite my food lacking taste and salt, I wasn't seeking a redo--just an effort to rectify their mistake. Their response to charge for the correction was disappointing. After some discussion with the manager, they agreed to waive the extra chimichurri charge. This conversation shouldn't have been necessary. --- Churros: Small and chunky, with an unidentified object on the whipped cream--possibly a lavender or rosemary leaf. Mediocre overall. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere contrasts with the disappointing food quality, service mistakes, and questionable charges. Perhaps inflation has fueled greed in some eateries. Seafood plates are more vegetable-heavy than seafood-rich, and the margarita has more flavor than the skirt steak. The latter lacks sauce, while the aioli is diluted, and the poblano peppers emit an unpleasant odor. Initially, I tried visiting Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen in Brea, but the lack of parking led me to their Irvine location instead. What a fortunate turn of events! The Irvine location offered ample parking, making my arrival stress-free. From the moment I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by the host, who seated me immediately. I was thrilled to learn about Chef Joe's Weekend Special--a three-course meal for an incredible $29, a steal in California! I opted for the seafood campechana cocktail, grilled steak enchilada, and arroz con leche, and added Manila clams as an extra dish. The service was exceptional. My server, Carlos, was professional, patient, and incredibly attentive, elevating my solo dining experience. Manager Isabel also checked in, ensuring everything was to my satisfaction. Their genuine care stood out, especially compared to some Michelin-starred restaurants I've visited worldwide, where service often fell short. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I was impressed by the generous portion sizes. The seafood campechana cocktail and grilled steak enchilada were highlights, bursting with flavor. The Manila clams, while slightly smaller than ideal, were still quite tasty. The arroz con leche was a perfect, comforting end to the meal. We went our first time Friday 02/28/2025, arriving during happy hour (although we didn't know it was happy hour at the time). We were seated by an employee. It was not crowded. I ordered 2 margaritas for me and husband. I noted that they were kind of pricey. They arrived promptly, were small, nothing special. We had appetizers and asked for our check, which was around $50., without tip. We tipped $10.00. As we were leaving, my husband asked if they had a happy hour, and we learned we had arrived during the happy hour and were leaving still during happy hour. We had been in it when we ordered! They never told us, nor did they provide us a "happy hour" menu before we ordered from the bar area (which would certainly be in that happy hour area). Upon glancing at the happy hour menu my husband asked for at the end of our visit, my wife saw had we ordered off the happy hour menu our margaritas would have been cheaper! When this was pointed out to the server, she merely told us that it was unfortunate we did not get provided a happy hour menu, but did not offer to fix the problem. Appalling? Yes! Would we return? Not a chance. A poor way to do business. We feel ripped off, and we will not be returning. The appetizers were okay as was the service, but not enough to offset being overcharged. When we told the seating person on the way out, she merely said something to the effect that maybe the server did not know to give us a "happy hour" menu, but did not offer to fix the problem. I used to be a regular at Cha Cha and was good, but my last visit was a complete disaster. From the moment we walked in, the place seemed off. The first red flag was the horrible smell coming from the kitchen--it was like a mix of garbage and spoiled food. We tried to ignore it, thinking maybe it was just a one-time issue, but unfortunately, the food confirmed our worst fears. The dishes were not only poorly prepared but also had an unpleasant, off-putting taste that was impossible to ignore. It was clear the quality had drastically dropped. What made matters even worse was the attitude of the manager. She was beyond rude, acting like we were the inconvenience just for asking about the food or for a simple drink request. We asked for Diet Coke, and they couldn't even provide that! How can a restaurant not have basic options like that? The whole experience felt like they couldn't care less about their customers or the food they serve. The staff seemed untrained and disengaged, and the atmosphere was tense--definitely not the welcoming vibe it used to have. To top it all off, when we mentioned the issues to the manager, he brushed us off and didn't even offer an apology. I don't know what happened to this place, but it's clear that the standards have plummeted. I can't recommend Cha Cha anymore. The fawning four star and five star reviews and the four and a half star average rating enticed me to give this place a try. I found the food and the service it to be just "OK" and nothing special, hence the three stars. Read on. Cha Cha's is located in The Marketplace on Jamboree boulevard that straddles Tustin Ranch and Irvine. Cha Cha's occupies a space that used to be an IHOP. Both indoor, outdoor patio, and outdoor "COVID tent" seating are offered. I'll let my photos speak to whether the place is "stylish" or not. It being Taco Tuesday, I got three tacos: one spare rib, one shrimp, and one carnitas. They look pretty good in my pic, right? I found them to be just OK. The carnitas was dried out and my least favorite of the three. The big glob of goat cheese kinda spoiled the spare rib taco. The shrimp taco was the best of the three but it was nothing to write home about. Thankfully, the tacos are half off on Tuesdays as of this writing. The tacos are served with rice and black beans. Like the tacos, the rice and the beans were were just OK. The highlight of the meal just might have been the Pacifico on draft or maybe the chips and salsa. The service was just OK, too. The staff I encountered sat me and delivered the meal fine, but the service felt perfunctory. I don't need my ass kissed, but it couldn't hurt to be at least a little bit friendly. Would I return? We recently visited Cha Cha's Kitchen for a birthday brunch, and while the food was fantastic, the service was a bit of a letdown. Our reservation was for 10, but unfortunately, two people couldn't make it. When the server found out, she started roughly moving the extra seats around us while we were already seated, telling us to grab our things. She didn't offer any help or explanation--just shoved over the cups and utensils onto the empty seats, making the whole situation feel rushed and awkward. From the start, her tone and attitude were off-putting, which immediately created a negative vibe for our group. When the drinks arrived, there was a mix-up with my order. I had asked for lemonade, but was brought tea instead. When I pointed out the mistake, she snapped back, "No, that's what you ordered, and that's why I asked you." Her dismissive attitude made it feel like we were a bother rather than customers, which really didn't sit well with the group. At that point, we decided to ask for a different server, and what a difference that made. Our new server was a breath of fresh air--polite, friendly, and patient. He took the time to walk us through the menu and made great recommendations. His positive attitude and professionalism completely turned the experience around. I recently visited Cha Cha's with my girl for a date night and I was impressed by the owner's personal touch as he came to each table to check on his guests. He was very friendly and genuine. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food quality and staff service. The red habanero salsa had a great flavor but lacked the extra kick I was hoping for. The seating is first come first served and the place can get pretty busy, but luckily we were able to find a spot. The patio and interior both had a great atmosphere with fun music and a nice crowd. I would definitely recommend sitting outside if the weather is good, which is usually the case in SoCal. I ordered the three taco dish. The wild mushroom tacos were my favorite, they were big and flavorful, but not too spicy for me. The guacamole was also delicious and I would eat the wild mushroom tacos all by themselves. However, I found the prices a bit high and some of the dishes, like the rice, were just okay. Cha Cha's has a high-end restaurant vibe that you would expect to find at The Spectrum. It's a great addition to the restaurant selection in the Market Place, but I hope they can improve the food quality and staff service to match the owner's personal touch. read more

Once again, I found myself back at Cha Cha's, this time with my son and his girlfriend. Let me tell you, they were blown away! We kicked things off with some crispy calamari and garlic fries, and beef nachos. Oh so good!! For our main course, we went for the beef fajitas. The meat was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. I washed it all down with a refreshing Cha Cha grapefruit margarita, while the kids sipped on a watermelon margarita that were equally delicious. But no night at Cha Cha's is complete without dessert! We had to have the flan. It was smooth, creamy, and the perfect way to end the meal. Our server, Jack, deserves a huge shoutout. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel like we were old friends. He even gave us a little sample of their famous cilantro sauce, which is seriously next-level good. By the end of the night, we felt like we'd been transported to a tropical paradise, thanks to the amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere. Today marked my second visit to Cha Cha Kitchen, and I must say, it was a delightful experience, especially considering the significantly reduced crowd and improved seating options compared to my previous visit. Initially, my friends and I had planned to head to BJ's next door, but we decided to give Cha Cha Kitchen a try, and I'm so glad we did. While Taco Rosa nearby has always been a favorite, Cha Cha Kitchen has now firmly claimed the title of my new go-to Mexican restaurant. The ambiance of Cha Cha Kitchen is simply captivating. The inviting seating, both indoors and outdoors, creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The service is impeccable, the food is mouthwatering, and the overall experience is simply unparalleled. My daughter suggested Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen at the Tustin Market Place, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The resturant has a warm and open ambiance, with vibrant yellow bar stools adding a pop of color to the place. The bar's design is sleek and stylish, and the patio a fantasitc addition for outdoor dining. Our server, Paige, was wonderful - warm, welcoming, and very friendly. She helped us select our dishes and ensured our drinks and food arrived promptly, with timely refills. The food was outstanding. I tried the taco trio with chicken, steak, and shrimp, each perfectly prepared with unique spices and garnished with salsa and shaved raddish. Black beans and Spanish rice were on the side and have to say the Spanish rice some of the best I've ever had. Overall, the experience was amazing. The atmosphere, food, and service were all top-notch, and I loved sharing a delightful lunch with my daughter. I'm already planning my next visit to Cha Cha's. read more

I've traveled the world and consider myself quite a "foodie." How refreshing to move back to Orange County and find this gem!! Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen Irvine is my new favorite go-to. I came here with my 14 year old daughter and the manager, Steve immediately made us feel welcomed. Steve made the most delicious recommendations....everything from the guacamole, carne asada, pan-seared halibut, desserts to beautiful cocktails were a treat for the senses. Not only was Cha Cha's presentation and service impeccable, Steve and his staff are attentive, friendly, while maintaining on point as professionals. I've been back several times now, always greeted with a smile, Taco Tuesday is a must, but better yet live music nights!! It's a challenge to find restaurants that have an amazing atmosphere, great food and awesome management....so happy to have stumbled upon Cha Cha's, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone!! read more

We really need to be able to put zero stars. Went here last night because I was given a gift card and now I think they gave it to me because they knew this place was horrid. The food was absolutely horrific, it looked and tasted like airport/hospital food. Nothing had seasoning, the beans were tasted like they were canned and the salsa was flavorless, don't even get me started on the chewy/dry/weird texture rice. My margarita was disgusting, pure sugary juice. Our waiter was terrible, he was rude, he threw our bill on the table, we still can't figure out why, lol. We didn't have any type of bad exchange so we didn't get where the attitude was coming from. We left an almost full margarita, one tequila shot and all of that disgusting food on the table, paid the bill and left. I promise you, DO NOT eat here, its the worst "mexican food" I've ever tried. read more

The service was excellent--fast, attentive, and the staff took the time to explain the menu, which was especially helpful since I wasn't familiar with some of the dishes. The ambiance was fairly quiet and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal. We ordered the catch of the day (swordfish), three enchiladas, and three tacos. The enchiladas and tacos were fantastic, receiving high praise from my dining companions. As for the fish dish I ordered, it was just okay--not bad, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, Cha Cha Latin Restaurant delivers solid service and a welcoming atmosphere with mostly great food. Last night I came in and the place was so busy, I was quoted 30min wait but still wasn't texted by then. I came to check at 45 minutes, which my Dad was pretty POed by then and wanted to leave. Something must have happened because when I checked on the status a manager by the name of Dannelle or Michelle was there now and she apologized about the long wait but explained guests were hanging out longer than they predicted. A lot of other customers were crowding around the front also angry. My Dad came in and made a scene I was so embarrassed but she got us a table right away and bought us an appetizer to make up for it. Our Server I can't remember his name I think Zach, was great, our drinks were never empty and was Super friendly. For a rough start, the staff and management turned it around. We had such a wonderful experience at Cha Cha's yesterday that I couldn't wait to share! From the moment we walked in, the hostess greeted us warmly and set the tone for what turned out to be a truly memorable visit. The ambiance was vibrant, the food was absolutely delicious, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. But what truly made the experience stand out was the exceptional service we received from Omar. Omar was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making our visit special. His energy, recommendations, and attention to detail took everything to the next level. Five stars all around for Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen! We came here for my dad's surprise birthday dinner, and the experience truly blew us away. The atmosphere is amazing, and the restaurant's design and decor are so unique and unlike anything I've seen before. Beyond the gorgeous space, the staff went above and beyond to manage my severe pineapple allergy. They took it incredibly seriously, ensuring there was zero pineapple in any of the dishes and absolutely no cross-contamination with my food or my watermelon margarita, making for a completely stress-free celebration. To top it all off, the food was incredible--the watermelon margarita was perfect, and the shrimp, wild mushroom, steak, and chicken tacos were all absolutely delicious. I really love this spot. I get my grapefruit/tequila fix (ChaCha's Marg) and the scratch menu is delightful. I used to go in for the Carne Asada y Chimichurri, but now I opt for appetizers or tapas (only on Thursday) so I can enjoy more margaritas! The calamari is my favorite. Or Shrimp al Ajo if it's Thursday! If I feel extra indulgent I'll get the Queso Fundido y Chorizo (reaaaaal cheese!) and fresh corn tortillas. And the staff is just the coolest. The servers are genuine and I don't feel like I'm taking to a bunch of robots. I like to sit on the patio. The managers seem friendly and the people are enough to keep you there, probably longer than you should. My girlfriends like to go for bottomless mimosas on Sunday's brunch. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. VERDICT - Overall, the menu feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. If my team decides to host another lunch here, I wouldn't object to returning.
