I've been to Inkas many times before, but it had been a while since my last visit. I decided to treat myself to a solo dinner here last weekend, and it was phenomenal, even better than I remembered. I was greeted right away and seated quickly, which made for a great start. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, with a bright and colorful space and both indoor and outdoor seating. I chose to sit inside and really enjoyed the ambiance. For food, I ordered a variety of empanadas: steak and mushroom, chicken, and a steak empanada served with amarillo dressing. The steak and mushroom was my personal favorite, so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I also had the huancaína potatoes, which were absolutely delicious, and paired everything with a chicha morada that was incredibly refreshing and tasty. Before heading out, I grabbed some alfajores cookies, and they were so good. Even though it's about a 15-20 minute drive for me, it's completely worth it. My family and I drove out to this restaurant on a Saturday because the listed hours say they close at 9:00 PM. We arrived at 7:40 PM, well before closing, and were walking toward the door when the waitress saw us and flipped the sign to "Closed." When we asked what time they actually close, she said 8:00 PM, which completely contradicts what is posted online. It was frustrating to be turned away like that, especially after making the drive with my family. If your real closing time is 8 PM, please update your hours. Inkas was such a delightful place to dine! My friends and I ate here on a warm sunny weekday afternoon, and the outdoor ambiance was just perfect for catching up over some delicious food and drinks. The service was very friendly and the food came out in a very reasonable time. Now onto the good stuff: Ceviche: 5/5. The ceviche was outstanding! So flavorful and had the perfect amount of acidity. It was a great appetizer and very shareable for 3 people. Highly recommend. Chicken picante: 4/5. Picante is my favorite Peruvian dish of all time. While Inka's rendition was not my favorite version of this dish that I've tried, jt did not disappoint. It had great flavor and the chicken was not dry at all. I'd likely order something different next time, but this wasn't still delicious. I will definitely be returning to Inkas the next time I am craving Peruvian food or want a nice outdoor spot to dine at. I'd definitely love to come here with my dogs! We started with some fish ceviche that came with yam, potato and cancha, Peruvian corn nuts. I got the Peruvian paella, which had plenty of perfectly cooked seafood - even the calamari was tender! My husband got the seafood picante stew spicy, but it wasn't very spicy (and I'm a spice wimp). Service was very attentive. Recommend sitting outdoors, weather permitting. Had lunch with a group of 4. We sat outdoors and enjoyed a fairly quick lunch. We were served drinks and bread to dip in the wonderful green sauce. Ordered the Lomo Saltado and it was delicious. Fries could have been a bit crispier, but soaked in the beef broth and topped with the green sauce it was amazing. Service was consistent for what you would expect on a busy lunch period, drinks were kept full and the staff was friendly. In the middle of all these industrial office buildings there is the highly enjoyable setting that allows you to forget you're in the hustle and bustle of the grind. Great food, but I have to admit I get the chicken picante almost all the time. It's my favorite dish here and I love it. You get this great fresh bread and butter to start. It's always pillowy and delicious. The bottle of green sauce is earthy, vibrant, fresh and a little spicy. So good!! I've been here with friends and everyone enjoyed their meals. On 8/9 I visited with my ophthalmologist at 15825 Laguna Canyon Rd, after my appointment I decided to have lunch at Inkas. During my lunch at Inkas I created a reel and posted a review of my experience. This evening the owner reached out to me apologizing for the way the server behaved towards me. I understand that people can have a bad day, and I do appreciate it when the owner or a representative of a business comes forward and apologizes for an unpleasant experience. As mentioned in my original review, the location has a beautiful patio setting and the empanadas were a favorite. I do believe wholeheartedly that restaurant reviews are crucial to the industry. It is a way for business owners to know how their staff behaves, or how well the restaurant is being represented by the staff. From personal experience, I know that knowing how to manage negative feedback, and learning from mistakes helps management to improve the overall experience for each patron. I've been coming to Inka's for a few years now. Most of the time when we dine there, it's fairly quiet, usually just to us or maybe one other table which makes for a relaxed atmosphere. I'm not an expert in peruvian cuisine. But overall, I think the food is good. The lomo saltado, however, can be a hit or miss. On one visit, it felt like there was more onion than beef, which was disappointing. The service has generally been great, especially from Jake (I believe that's his name). He's always been friendly and attentive, and experiences like that are what kept us coming back. That said, our last few visits have me rethinking things. There's one server, I don't know her name, whose demeanor has consistently felt rude and confrontational. I work in tourism, so I truly understand how stressful customer service can be and I tend to give a lot of grace -- I know how one difficult customer can throw off your night. But in this case, the interactions felt unnecessarily tense, despite there being no issue or complaint from our side. It's uncomfortable to feel like you're being spoken to defensively when you're simply trying to enjoy dinner. At this point, I'm not sure when we'll be back. If we do return and see that she's working, we're turning back. I'm trying to have a nice dinner, not be someone's punching bag because they hate their job. read more
