1.5 inches less- not a full cup.
    Anna U.

I just got a cup of chai ( definitely half empty ). They told me it is a little bit less. I opened the lid and it was 1.5 inches lower in the cup than I usually got it from them. Not ok. If they didn't have enough or ran out then they should let me know. I am not happy about it. I just want a full cup of chai. See pic of my sad cup of chai.

The snacks and appetizers at this place continue to be the best I have had in the Bay Area. Every single item on the Chaat menu has been excellent. Also the tandoori chicken, be it as an appetizer or in their wraps. We ordered takeaway dinner for two and there was enough food for four. I was not a fan of the gravy items. Definitely would go ahead and stick to my favorites. Two thumbs up.

Chole Bhature, chicken tikka, garlic naan and a happy husband :)

This is my husband and my go-to lunch date. We usually order Chole Bhature, tandoori chicken, saag, or tikka but really it's all good. We always leave happy and will probably be back next week as well!

Friday, May 5, 2023 - A la Chicken Tikka Masala: extra spicy, garlic pesto naan ($16.99)

Date: Friday, May 5, 2023 Meal: Dinner Delivery Ordered via: DoorDash Time Placed: around 4:30pm Time Arrived: around 5:15pm Delivered to: Evergreen, San Jose *Curry Sauce: 4oz, Butter Sauce, Extra Spicy ($2.50) *Onion Naan: extra spicy ($5.49) *A la Chicken Tikka Masala: extra spicy, garlic pesto naan ($16.99) Curry is my comfort food. Thai, Japanese, Indian, etc. I adore it all. I was on my own for dinner, so decided to get some Indian for delivery. I had a discount code on my DD account, so with tax, tip, delivery fee, etc, I ended up paying $25.32. Not a bad deal if I do say so myself. Both naans were delicious. Savory and flavorful. A perfect way to scoop up the curry. If memory serves, the tikka masala was nice and creamy. Tho not as spicy as I wanted. I thought noting extra spicy would have more heat. The side of butter curry was small. But 4oz isn't that much, so I shouldn't have expected much. It was nice having an extra side since I had two pieces of naan. Glad I tried out Chaat Cafe. It was definitely comforting. REVIEW #3546

Amazing food, no nonsense. Just full of flavor! The decor could use some sprucing up but the food is amazing, so who cares! Service is quick too. 10/10, a must eat here!

Really great Indian food that's quick and easy on the wallet. It was quite crowded on a Friday evening and we ordered at the counter, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, veggie pakora, and papri chaat. The papri chaat was refreshing from the yogurt and loved the combination with the chickpeas. The chips do get soggy a bit quick though. The veggie pakora came out nice and hot, and it was interesting to have it in the chickpea batter. Really good appetizer. I do wish the curries came out a little hotter in temperature, and the butter chicken was fine, but a bit too tomato sauce like for my taste. The vindaloo was great, our favorite of the two, though didn't have any heat like we thought it would from the menu description. Naan was also very good, and liked that you could pick up sides of sauces at the counter. All in all, a very good meal and will be back again!

The weekday lunch specials are great deals, healthy, and fill you up. I believe it's from 12pm-3:30pm, but don't quote me on that. The veggie of the day last Thursday was cauliflower with potato in a yellow curry, and it was served with naan. So flavorful and delicious. The Cholay Batura had a chickpea dip with an addicting, fluffy bread. It was my favorite dish out of the ones we ordered just because the bread. We also got a chicken wrap that had bbq chicken and veggies in it. It was good too. The employees were nice and answered any questions we had about the dishes. The water is self serve from a filtered water dispenser. There are mint chutney and tamarind sauces available too. I'll definitely be back for lunch!

My husband and I split our meats so we could have a little of each. Yummy!!

It's been a long time since I came here because I no longer live in the area, but was back in my old neighborhood and decided to stop here for dinner. My husband and I ordered the chicken tikka plate and the spicy seekh plate so we could share. Both meats were delicious as was the fluffy rice. The lentil soup was perfectly spiced, and the garlic naan had lots of garlic and was absolutely delicious. I'm going to say one of the best naans I've ever had! The cucumber side was refreshing as well. Even better than the delicious meal was that it was a great value! We will absolutely make a point of coming back here to try more things. The gentlemen working here were also very nice and professional.

    Samosas. So good!

One of the few Indian restaurants that doesn't taste like they have three main sauces they pull from with no effort to make flavors differentiate or pop. The dishes here taste like the chef's actually care about the food. Service is polite and simple. Very low maintenance. Not a restaurant if you like to be picky. Come to enjoy it as it is. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that, because they do a lot of take out, they have a lot of drinks and other items prepared to just grab and go for you. This doesn't work if your order anything other than water to drink at the table. They offer really interesting and refreshing tea/lemonades, yet when they bring the drink it comes prepared to go in plastic cup, sealed, with boba style fat straw (as opposed to the very elegant picture on their menu). It stood out as massively tacky and ugly, especially because of how thoughtful the design choices are for the table scape and the rest of the dining experience. Strange place to cut a corner. Even opening the to go cup at the counter, pouring it into one of the lovely water glasses (which is what I did, lol) would be easy and streamline the beautiful experience.

It's just a little cold in there for some reason. We started with a watermelon spritz and the inji-puli lotus appetizer since we'd never tried anything like that, and it was very yummy and had such a nice crispy but soft texture. It was also a good portion for all four of us. We got the goat curry and the chettinad spice vegetables, and a few parathas to share. We were afraid it wouldn't be enough but the parathas are actually very filling, and also have a really great texture of both crispy and soft, and delicious flavor. The curries were good, could have used a bit more salt but good spice. The stars of the show were the desserts - this deserves its own section because omg I'm still thinking about the desserts!!! We got the gulab jamun brûlée - an amazingly well done take on creme brûlée with a perfect top, easy to crack and beautifully flavored. The filling was amazing and sweet and so so yummy. They also were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake which was absolutely amazing. I'm generally not too impressed by chocolate but the quality of this cake was phenomenal with perfect sweetness and richness. I need these two again !! When we arrived, I asked a gentleman who looked like the manager if we could move indoors because it was cold. Even though they were very busy, he found us indoor seats in a perfect spot -- we definitely got lucky. We were a party of seven, half of us vegetarian. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was great, but the vegetable biryani stole the show for me. I don't come from India, so take this from a non-native -- it was hands down the best veggie biryani I've ever had. The flavors were incredible, and it came with raita and a chutney that paired perfectly. I kept thinking about it even after trying everything else. Other highlights: the gunpowder idli was mind-blowing, and the lotus root appetizer (my first time trying lotus root) was a delightful surprise -- great texture and flavor. The dosa was soft and exactly how I like it (I'm not into crispy dosa), and the paratha with the vegetable curry was delicious too. The meat dishes my friends ordered got rave reviews from them as well, but I was still daydreaming about that biryani. Service was excellent -- the staff were kind, patient, and especially attentive to the kids in our party. When the restaurant is busy there can be a wait for food, but trust me: every bite is worth the wait. Highly recommend Anantara if you want a beautiful dining experience with outstanding food.

I will say I feel like the portion sizes here are noticeably smaller than those at the Palo Alto location. This might be because all of the orders are packed to-go, so maybe there's less space for food? For instance, the thali from the Palo Alto location includes a side salad, which was not included in my order here. It has been way too long since I visited Namaste restaurant in Los Gatos. Today I had their…read moretandoori seabass thali which was excellent. The seabass came with a slice of lime which I appreciated. It was flavorful and tasty. There was also a nice little cup of rice pudding with spices and cashews I think. It was a little sweet dessert included with the thali plate. There was a tasty salad with raspberry dressing. There was a generous serving of rice. Enough rice so you might be able to split one thali amongst 2 people, especially if you got an appetizer and the chai also. The food is so delicious though, I finished the whole plate except the rice. This thali plate also came with some very tasty dal. I also got the masala chai which was delicious. It comes with milk already mixed in and sugar packets so you can add as much or little sugar as you want. It came in a nice ceramic cup. The service was polite and helpful but unobtrusive. The restaurant was popular on a Friday around noon but they didn't make me feel rushed at all. The entire cost for the thali and the chai was about $40 including tip. It was worth it! I know things are more expensive these days but I had such a wonderful experience. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated with a huge beautiful artwork of I think 3 goddesses, I wasn't completely sure what the art was but it looked beautiful. There are comfortable booths inside and nice tables. I ate alone, and I had a 2 person table which was a good size for me. First, I went for a hike at St Joseph's hill which is a beautiful trail close by Namaste, then treated myself to thali and chai. It tasted so good after hiking! I think Namaste is a great spot for lunch with friends (they have the thalis on weekday lunch) or also would be a great spot for a date. I saw a couple out for lunch together, maybe on a first date? They looked like they had a nice time. Overall it was a great experience, well worth the $40. Not something I can do every day because of work, but fun for the occasional treat.

This is our go to for Indian food every time but lately the service has been not as kind. When we picked up takeout last week, I was simply handed a bag without any sort of greeting or thank you. Also, the food is not as fresh as it used to be. Hopefully all of this is temporary.
