The meat could have used a little more seasoning, too, as it was a bit bland. I tried the pinkish sauce (tahini or hummus?) that came on the side, but it was very spicy and I couldn't eat it. The side of cucumber yogurt was perfect. It came with flatbread for dipping, but I dipped my wrap in it instead and saved the flatbread for later. I almost always go with the kubideh, a delicious ground beef kabob that shines when paired with rice and grilled tomato on the plate version, and hits just as well in the wrap version alongside crunchy veggies and an addictively spicy orange sauce. The juicy grilled chicken breast is another good choice. We ordered our favorite dishes (those mentioned already, plus hummus and lavash) as catering from here for a birthday party last year, and our guests loved the food just as much as we do. A nice spot to grab some persian food and relax. I came here on a Monday night looking for Iranian Beryan, and I was not disappointed. Upon entering, I see Khabib Nurmagomedov and his entire crew sitting there. I was definitely starstruck, but I didn't go over to bother him, just yet! The lady at the counter was very sweet, and we ordered a combo kabob plate and Iranian Beryan. Everything was delicious, and very fresh. They had bottled doogh, and all the typical sodas you would expect. You can see them cooking everything as you wait. It's a very small cozy place, somewhat of a hole in the wall. When I saw Khabib leaving, I asked for a photo. He didn't seem to be too interested, but he told me to hurry up and took the photo anyway! I've only met 2 fighters in my life, One of them was Muhammad Ali in Iran in 1994 when I was just a little boy, and the 2nd is Khabib 30 years later at Isfahan restaurant. Muhammad Ali was a lot nicer! We have been getting take home food from them fir st least the last 10 years when the original owner was managing the store. It's a very no-frills, hole-in-the-wall place complete with a difficult parking lot, haha. IMO the kabobs were even better in the restaurant compared to delivery. I got lunch from here last week through Uber Eats. The food was ok, I don't think it travels well the way they had packed it. Three tables on the curb of the driveway leading to the back lot. Hey, whatever works...I'm down! Isfahan Kabob is a hole-in-the-wall, Iranian restaurant that didn't even come up on my yelp searches for koobideh. Thanks to Amy D. for this find! Eating out is getting more and more expensive which is understandable BUT not at Isfahan Kabob. They have NOT raised [most of] their menu prices in over 4 years...long before the pandemic. While other sit-down restaurants in the South Bay charge $16-$20 for a Koobideh Plate, it's ONLY $13 at Isfahan Kabob! Isfahan Kabob is open for takeout, delivery (3rd party apps), indoor dining, and outdoor dining. With restrictions lifted, finding restaurants that have kept their outdoor seating is becoming more challenging. I called Isfahan Kabob when I was in the area and they confirmed that they had three tables outside so I headed there. So yea, the tables are on the curb of a driveway but it's shaded so that's all I care about. Staff wears mask and gloves, and there's hand sanitizer on each table. Kubideh is delicious, I always wish I had ordered more of that and the tomatoes. It does have parking in front, but other shops also share the spaces. The inside is small with a few tables and an open kitchen. Their menu has a variety of items, from appetizers to wraps to kabobs to entrees and more. But one thing to note is that they did not update their menu prices. They'll charge you more without informing you. Their prices listed above the kitchen are different also, which make it confusing. I have a Persian friend who recommended this spot to me and said this was the most authentic that she'd tried in the Bay Area. I have to agree with her as this place lived up to my expectations. I came in around lunch time (past 1PM) to a few patrons inside the restaurant. The restaurant may be a little hard to find and a tad too small. The parking itself isn't the best since it is situated in a small area next to a tattoo shop and also a gas station. You may have to take a small walk and park somewhere else in order to get to the restaurant if it is a busy day. Regarding the food and the service, it was amazing. I ordered the combo plate with chicken ad kubideh. The workers are friendly and helpful. Food takes around 7-10 minutes since they constantly have skewers cooking on the grill. The portion sizes for the meal is actually insane. It kept me full for dinner and I don't think i even ate a meal for dinner, maybe something small. I eat a lot for a small guy and this kept me full for a while. The chicken was extremely tender and not dry at all. The kubideh was well seasoned, buttery, and juicy. Rice is rice, you can't F it up. Also like the roasted tomato on the side. They also have the black/brown seasoning on the tables that I have no clue what it is, but it helps round out the meal. No wonder persian/iranian people are buff. If they eating this type of food everyday, they be making hella gains in the gym. Whenever my family is craving kabobs, Isfahan is our go to place. We've either dined in or carried out over 10 times and the food as well as the service have been excellent each time. Nothing beats eating at the restaurant when the kabobs are taken off the fire and eaten immediately but during the pandemic, we've reheated the food at home and it has been nearly as good. The chicken kabobs and the koobideh are nicely seasoned and prepared. The rice is consistently well cooked also. Unlike many other kabob places, the food here is never overly salty and the meats are always fresh, juicy, and perfectly charred. The prices are very reasonable and the portion size is more than adequate. The owner and the staff are very professional and accommodating when requests are made. The only inconvenient part to this restaurant is the limited parking, as well as the tight entry/exit from the lot. read more
