I, like others here, purchased a Groupon for a weekend stay. My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a weekend away. We were hugely disappointed. The room had a horrible bed that squeaked just from sitting on it. The hot water took forever to warm up. When we arrived on Friday night, the front desk person was on the phone for at least 5 minutes before she even spoke to us. And, on Friday night, there was a very loud party of young kids that made it difficult to fall asleep. I only give them two stars because it was cheap....we got what we paid for. I also noted that other people said they were close to everything...I would disagree. I would look at the location and where you would like to be in Napa before making a reservation. read more

I travel a lot and stay in fancy hotels to cheap motels so I've seen it all. I don't expect a lot, but I do expect a clean room. I woke in the middle of the night to use the bathroom to find roaches scattering. I could not sleep the rest of the night. I wrote to the hotel to complain and have never heard anything in return. Good price. Very good customer service! Clean and comfortable room! Darcy was very helpful and pleasant and it was clear that she cares about the customer. There was a mixup with my reservation but she quickly took care of the issues. I chose this hotel as it was close to where the hot air balloon company would be meeting. There is no view and the location is not very attractive (near small homes, shopping center, open field but the hotel itself is cute and the room is attractive. I would stay again. The only recommendation I would have for the staff is to put in room darkening drapes along with sheers so that the guest can sleep in a bit if desired. The sun came in very bright through the blinds and I could have used another hour of sleep. read more

Looks like everyone scored on the Groupon deal with this place. I would stay here again if there is another Groupon deal. I had to pay $30 extra for an upgraded room (2 full beds for 2 nights). My fault because we booked a dog friendly room but decided not to bring our doggy. Yes, they are dog friendly but they allocate a certain # of rooms.. so book early if you are travelling with your pooch! If you get a downstairs room, remember to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. It sounded like big foot was doing somersaults on the bed upstairs. It didn't bother my sleep.. thankfully sasquatch was not an insomniac. The groupon came with a bottle of Merlot (yuck) and complimentary passes to Hill Family Wines. We didn't use the passes. They also have free wi-fi, a microwave and a mini fridge. There was also an extra sink near the small, dorm-like kitchen. The beds were comfy. The TV had satellite service so some of the channels would go out. Also, popcorn should only be made for consumption & not sprayed on the ceiling. I liked that the Inn was close to downtown Napa. I definitely recommend eating at Oxbow Public Market! There is also a watered down Whole Foods/Trader Joes type store across the street within walking distance, Vallerga's. read more

Look, when we go to a place like Napa Valley, we really only need a nice space to sleep and unwind after a dayful/nightful of activities. If you're looking for room service, a free breakfast, a work-out room, dog-sitters, or rent-a-nanny's, then this isn't for you. We're not looking for extreme creature comforts; we're tired, we want to crash out. Chablis Inn is perfect for that. They are very competitively priced. They have all the necessary comforts such as a bathtub, microwave, free WiFi, refrigerator, flatscreen TV, wall-thermostat for heating and cooling, etc. The staff are friendly and helpful; our host, Darcy, even recommended a nice restaurant for our first night in town that we might be able to slam into on short notice. And you only need to drive a few miles up Hwy 29 to get to some really swell local wineries. They are also reasonably close to the southern, more local-frequented places near Napa. You can request an upstairs or a downstairs room. Our sleep times went uninterrupted except for a couple nights when Godzilla was staying upstairs from us. But that's no fault of the management. Hey, Godzilla can sleep wherever she wants, right? And you bet we will be back again next year! This was a really cool place to stay! read more

Definitely a value place, but a few things could have made it better. Our hair dryer burnt out after 2 min. of use and the coffee maker didn't work. Our friends's TV didn't work and this is after renovations! Room was clean, fridge is a nice bonus. Front desk staff was very friendly and pool area seemed nice and clean. Hot tub is small, 4 people max. and next to the highway makes it a bit noisy. Would probably go elsewhere however next time, its still $150 that I would much rather put forth to a quieter B&B. read more

Although I am not staying at the Chablis, I would NEVER stay there based on what I saw just now at the laundromat across the street from the hotel. The hotel maid was there with bins of sheets, towels and other laundry from the hotel and she was stuffing and cramming each machine until it would not hold one inch more material. She then proceeded to start the machines. THERE IS NO WAY IN THE WORKD THESE SHEETS AND TOWELS ARE CLEAN AND SANITARY WITH THIS ACTION AND IT IS TOTALLY DISGUSTING. I WOULD WARN PEOPLE TO CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL WHERE SHEETS AND TOWELS ARE ACTUALLY SANITIZED FROM PREVIOUS GUEST USE. The Chablis should be ashamed!!!!!! read more

Walls are paper thin and the heating cooling system is extremely loud. The toilet would also periodically kick on a run. As I type, I can hear the conversation in the room next door but the worst part was getting woken up at three a.m. by laughing whistling and general frivolity from the room two doors down. Usually I can sleep through anything but it was ridiculously loud and annoying. After about an hour, I called the front desk and the clerk said she'd ring the room where the noise was then called me back to tell me they had their phone disconnected - not sure what I was supposed to do with that info - and after another call back from her she seemed to have taken care of it at least temporarily because I heard them again briefly around 7 a.m. Other things I would chalk up as no big deal: rust on the tissue cover; all the clocks had the wrong time; some obvious deferred maintenance, but you get a motel room to get sleep and I didn't get much of that. For the money I'd have been better off at the Motel 6 next door. I thought I was getting something extra for the money. I wasn't, and there was no one there to check me out and address the issue when I left. The two stars are for the approximate two hours of sleep I got. read more

This place was not what I would expect from the price they charge. Customer service was fine but the place was a little run down. Our first room had stains on the sheets. So when we asked, they changed us to another room. I don't know if it was because it was super windy or whether there were people pushing around carts for a couple hours during late hours but it was pretty frustrating because I just wanted to sleep. read more

We recently moved to Yountville, and we celebrated Thanksgiving in our new home. The house is not big enough to accommodate our family of 15 (plus one dog) overnight so we chose the Chablis Inn to be the home away from home for nine members of the family.. From start to finish this was a terrific choice. The manager, Donna, was extremely professional, helpful and competent. Donna facilitated the reservations , including our special needs; and she made the check-in and payment process simple for us and our family. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The family was complimentary of the accommodations, the staff and the location. They all agreed that future visits will definitely include the Chablis Inn. It should be noted that in addition to the great service, the Chablis Inn is a great value. Considering the costs of other hotels within the Valley we were pleased as to the value our dollar purchased here. We highly recommend the Chablis Inn, and our family looks forward to a return visit. I reserved two days here 2 weeks ago. I was on a 2nd floor room. No elevator: a problem if you have heavy luggage. My room was just cleaned. I took a shower, and the first thing I noted was body odor on the towel. I was too tired to care, so I got dressed and lied down on bed for a few minutes. Again, the sheets have body odor. I took my allergy medicine to see if I can get past the clog building in my sinuses from the obviously-dusty air conditioning, and the body odor from the sheets. Two hours later, I was too miserable, and thus, used the inn's wifi to reserve and stay at a different hotel 10 miles away. Best decision of my Napa vacation. read more

so i booked this room at 2pm on august 2 for august 3 and needed to cancel which i did at 5pm the same day...so during those 3 hours i was charged 50 dollars to cancel....terrible customer service and now im glad i didnt spend the complete money to stay there if thats how u will be treating customers read more

This is one of the worst establishments that I have ever been in. Before even arriving at the "hotel" I indicated through Expedia that I wanted to pay upon arrival. 2 days before I arrived, my card was already charged. When I arrived to check in the general manager Nancy was very rude. When I told her that I wasn't satisfied with the fact that they charged money from my card, she proceeded to get very agitated and hostile. I then asked my son to sign for the charges on my behalf, and she proceeded to get very angry and demanded that I have to sign. We then told her that we will be writing a review on various websites about her and she proceeded to get defensive and canceled our reservation without even asking us. She kept saying that we were in a bad mood and very rude when all we wanted was an acknowledgement of her mistake and better customer service. In the end, we had to have the police come and sort the issue out, where they proceeded to tell us this wasn't the first time that they had been called for such civil disputes. The hotel kicked us out for no apparent reason other than that they thought we were "rude." If you are ever in nappa stay away from this hotel as they will lie and kick you out. read more

Have reasonable expectations when you go here. For the sort of price they charge, its an excellent deal. I've paid 3-4 times the cost for smaller rooms with smaller bathrooms and more issues. There was a slightly musty smell, nothing too bad, only two pillows, no TV, no microwave, a fridge that barely worked. But all this didn't matter considering we managed to stay there for less than 100 bucks. Easy access parking right next to the rooms, fairly quiet if you use the available fan as white noise (big + IMO that you could simply use it as a fan and not only as heater or cooler) Not too much noise from upstairs, the previous Quality Inn that we stayed at had us waking up everytime the ppl upstairs took a few steps. If you can adjust and ignore certain negatives, you can spend a lot more money on getting quality wine than spending it on a snobbish joint who think too much of themselves. Recommended. read more

Didn't have the horrible experience some reviewers had, but I do agree with some that the hotel has a sloppy "made-over" feel to it, with a faded exterior. But my mother-in-law, who is handicapped, was given the handicapped room, which was marvelous for her. Great bathroom with all the rails and fixtures needed for seniors or anyone with limited mobility. The rooms were big and clean and had mini-refrigerators. Ours had two sinks; one looked new. Could definitely hear our upstairs neighbors walking around, but maybe I'm used to this from apartment living. The front-desk staff was friendly. Another plus is you can walk to a really nice food market, Starbucks, and a large shopping center that has a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and multiple other shops/restaurants. If you can't afford the higher priced Napa hotels and want a room bigger than what Motel 6 offers (it's right next door), this is an option to consider. read more

Have stayed here two additional times, most was acceptable. This time, the shower/bath tub never drained, bar sink cold faucet leaked when turned on, sink itself barely drained, and the blow dryer did not work. Did bring this to the attention of the manager. She quickly told me that no one has ever complained before about these issues and that a maintenance man inspects each room every day so how could this have happened. Right. I guess the customer is wrong again. She would have to investigate. Asked if she would consider a credit after her investigation and was told that she could not do that. OK. I advised that I would post the issues and her comments on social media and she advised that that was ok. I advised that I guess that that would be the last time I would be staying there and she advised that that was OK. I guess there was a language issue. This "inn" needs to be educated in customer service. Definitely not understood. By pass this place. BTW; although they have a swimming pool, but swimming in a ice filled ice bucket would be warmer. This place does not understand what it means to maintained property. A dump with uneducated people in management. read more
