Me and my two buddies were in the area to play some disc golf and we stopped there for some quick dinner. We all ended up getting sandwiches, but saw some others eating pizza and it looked and smelled good. The sandwiches were really good and the fries and sauce were also excellent. We ordered a pizza to go for the first time since the new ownership last night. We did some substitutions and scheduled for when we wanted to pick it up and they had it ready when we arrived! I got to the counter and the cook admitted right off that it was a bit crispy and let me see it. It was . BUT he had made another one to replace it and 5 minutes later I left with a great pizza! We recently came here on a Friday night. With this being pretty much the only restaurant open in Cathlamet for dinner, it was keeping the staff busy! The young man at the counter was friendly, and our pizza was delicious! We got 2 large pizzas--a plain cheese pizza and a pepperoni and sausage--half with mushrooms. Great flavor, hot and cheesy, and the side of marinara was warmed up for my daughter to dip her crust in! Perfection! Since my daughter and her husband are new to the area, I'm sure this will not be the last time we visit! Last note: while the place was hopping with orders--both call in, pick up, and counter orders--there were plenty of tables. No one was eating in, so it was quiet. read more

The Pizza Mill is better than a Pizza-Mart/Pizza Hut/Dominoes or other chain pizza. Some of their ingredients are fresh or homemade, although the majority are food service grade. They prepare their pies in 1 pie deck ovens so you get a reasonable bake. Is anything extraordianry? The sausage was good and the toppings were plentiful. Oddly they have really nice lettuce on their salads as we'll as decent parm shavings. And some of their dressings are made in house. Is anything sub-par. They go a little overboard with some of the food service ingredients. Too much cheese leading to a little greasy, on the salad too many of "spare tire" black olive rings that nearly ruined a really nice salad - please swap to a few nice Kalamatas. Otherwise it's a decent place for a small town pizza. Rumor has it the grinders are good. Oh, I wish they were open crazy late like 10pm on weekends? read more

Oh my goodness. This place is so so so good. My husband and I had burgers and fries today for lunch. Don't let the looks fool you. The patties are soooo flavorful. The meat just melts in your mouth. We then came back for 2 large pizzas: Combination and Pepperoni. I can't explain how amazing a regular pepperoni pizza can say so much about how good it is. The crust is bomb dot com! read more

This place has changed hands a couple of times since Sharon opened it ten plus years ago. As my previous review states, the food and especially "The One" sandwich and the pizza was outstandingly good. The service was also great. Sharon was a great lady and made everyone who came into the shop feel like family. It was a very popular place with the "Townies". Small shop, not a lot of seating and the prices tended to be on the high side, especially when you add in the WA State tax. But we enjoyed stopping there a few times a year for a really great all-meat pizza. Sharon sold the biz to someone else who kept things more or less the same as they were. The food wasn't quite as good but it was still better than "ok". Stopped in recently and some new people have the place now. They are nice but the pizza quality has really taken a nose-dive. The sauce is now a tomato-y goop like you'd find in New England. Not flavorful the way it used to be. Didn't think that much of the pizza either. Sharon did a thick dough thing that was soft and yummy. Almost no grease on it which was amazing since we always order the all meat option. That's gone now. The dough and crust are unremarkable. And the sauce that was once spicy almost to the point of being too spicy is now more of a watered down tomato sauce affair. Prices are still quite high and, in fact, I think the prices have increased. Bummer to see this place changing and not for the better. It's really difficult to find outstanding pizza here in the PNW. Seems like when ever we find one, they go out of business or sell out not long after we find them :( Sorry to say that it's unlikely that we will be returning. There really aren't any other good dining options that we are aware of in Cathlamet. A couple of burger joints and a Mexican place is about it. Haven't tried any of those yet. read more

I love this place! Every time I'm in town I make it a point to come here and get a grinder sandwich! I like to switch it up but this is the classic Italian. They are absolutely the best. The food is always ready when they say it will be and the service is always super friendly. There really isn't much else to say about this place, it's just that good. I will see their pizza was delicious and I would definitely order it again but their sandwiches & hamburgers are out of this world amazing. Their Hawaiian burger is piled high with delicious toppings & when they bring it to you it's probably 6+ inches tall For a little place on the side of the road in Cathlamet this place gets an A+ from me. Pleasant surprise! Ordered an Italian cold sandwich and an large chef salad. The sandwich was one of the best subs I've had, fresh bread loaded with condiments meat and cheese. We split the sandwich and couldn't even start the salad. The salad was our meal the second night. It was loaded with Turkey, olives, cheese, croutons, sweet onions. Wow. My friend told me to stop in here and he was not kidding, this place is seriously good. You know how sometimes you'll go to a restaurant and think, "this food was made by somebody because it's their job", and other times you think, "The chef here cares about the food and wants it to taste good"? Definitely the latter at this place, the way that the seasoning is just perfect and all the parts of the sandwiches work together proves that the people making this food want it to taste good, and it was obvious that everybody in town knew that, because they were packed on a Monday afternoon. I had the burger and that was great, don't hesitate to order that. But what I really want to talk about is this beef pot roast sandwich I had. It had a soft, footlong roll covered in melted provolone, shaved red onion and horsey sauce (creamy sweet horseradish) and actual POT ROAST. Not "check out my Crockpot" type stuff, but braised, concentrated, caramelized, rich and beefy pot roast, with a subtle, sticky, and fatty gravy. It's the real thing. I ate like 2/3 of that sandwich reheated in the cast iron, and that's why I'm writing this right now. Each bite I take is just: "Man, this sandwich is seriously for real." Considering the limited options in the area they cost choose to just call it in but they do a better job than most pizza places that have competition.
