I visit Oregon pretty frequently and sometimes make a trip over to Cannon Beach. Sometimes though, we get a little sick of sandwiches, burgers, and fish and chips, so finding Nonni's on Yelp felt like a calling. The interior is so adorable! I loved seeing the aprons hanging up on the ceiling, really solidified the feeling that you were stepping into Nonni's space rather than just a restaurant. My sister and brother in law got the artichoke beef medallions and the chicken picatta, while I got the pesto linguine and Italian sausage and white bean soup (I NEEDED beans). All was delicious! I would've preferred my pasta to be a bit firmer, but I still enjoyed it a lot. It was packed with garlic and the capers added little salty bites throughout. We ended the meal with tiramisu and complimentary Amaretto, which was a nice touch to our dinner service! Tiramisu was light, airy, and not overly sweet. My niece kept going in for more, lol. Cutest Italian Bistro in Seaside! Not only is the town darling, this little restaurant adds to its beauty! The service was the best, we came late and less than an hour to closing. They still sat us, did not make us feel like a burden for the staff probably having to stay later. We never want to be that family! Like walking back in time to a restaurant in Italy, inside with pictures from the past. We ordered a bottle of wine, wicker Fiasco. Grew up with these as a kid and wanted to take home the bottle to make a candle. The bread was fantastic. Visited on an early Thursday evening as part of a side trip from Cannon Beach. There was no wait when we got there a little before 5 but by the time we were done, there were a few people waiting in line. Very welcoming and friendly service. Nice family atmosphere. Had the cheese bread and meatball for appetizers. For main dishes, we had cannelloni, beef medallions, spaghetti, with Bolognese, and linguine pesto Genevieve. They were all excellent. We came here for my boyfriend's 50th birthday, on recommendation from a friend whose beach house we were staying at. She suggested the beef medallions with mushrooms, so we got that, as well as the house lasagna. Both were absolutely delicious! Lasagna is his all time favorite - and what his mother would have made him if we had been able to make it back East for his birthday, (but we got stormed out). I was thrilled that he thought this was just as good. I don't do mushrooms but can maneuver my way around them (which means picking them out at putting them on my boyfriends plate). The restaurant is charming and intimate and decor very much takes you from Seaside, OR to any small town in Italy (or Little Italy in NYC). Maria was our server (according to the receipt) and she was awesome! She was personable, and spent time visiting with us and telling us the history of the restaurant. She also helped me be sneaky and hid the little birthday cake I snuck in my bag and hid it in back, then had brought it out later; adding a bunch of ice cream to it - and got the other restaurant guests to suing Happy Birthday to him. Chef's special risotto: 3.5/5 I guess I don't understand what is so special about risotto--just seems like creamyish rice in sauce, but it's not very easy to make? The salmon served on top was perfectly cooked. Veggies were ok--squash was a bit watery, some green beans a little stringy, broccoli overcooked or from frozen. Cannelloni: 3/5 I was expecting a meat-filled tube of pasta, but they describe it as a crepe, which is more accurate because the "wrap" is quite thin. We visited Nonni's last week for dinner and had an enjoyable experience. It's been a couple years since we were last here, so we went in with little in the way of expectations. We were seated and served right away, which is always nice. Our server was very pleasant and took good care of us throughout our visit. The food was good, but didn't impress me as much as it did on our last visit. I had carbonara, which is always my go-to baseline meal, and it wasn't bad, tasted ok, but didn't blow me away at all. We had dinner at Nonnis last night. We love authentic Italian when we can find it. Nonnis Italian Bistro is probably one of the best Italian restaurants we have been too. The restaurant is a cute spacious location right in the heart of Seaside OR. The place was packed and I completely understand why. The food is amazing! We were greeted right away. Had a short wait so we sat near the bar in a comfy lounge. Once seated we were given fresh bread to snack on. Our waitress came and greeted us right away. Food came out hot within 15 min. We were absolutely pleased with the entire experience. I highly recommend stopping in at Nonnis. It's authentic dishes, made with fresh homemade ingredients. It's the fine dining we were hoping for on our date night. Make sure to stop in 30 min or so before you plan to eat to place your name on the waitlist. I got the clams for an appetizer and the chicken piccata. The chicken piccata came with a little side of Alfredo and some steam veggies. It was so good! Well here is a story for you. Food was fast, fresh, terrific! Got the cannelloni. So good. It's a hard item to find and this was tremendous. But here comes the story. Some people need to be more self aware, I didn't say anything to wait staff either, but about 8-10 feet away, was a "gentleman" that provided a very loud obnoxious conversation with about 40+ F bombs as loud as possible. I heard his whole conversation, I really enjoyed the service and great food, but had a hard time trying to zone out this loud guy. Everyone else was polite and respectfully "table talk" loud. I was at least 8-10 feet away and I heard everything as loud as can be. So maybe he's reading this? Probably not, But check the room, become a bit self aware as I was glad I ate quickly to get out of your loudness. But wanted to enjoy my meal a bit more. We made an effort to come to Nooni during our Portland trip, on this quest to find an authentic Italian restaurant and we found that and more. We got the seafood pasta with muscles to share. The seafood pasta came with a cream sauce and was loaded with seafood including shrimp, clams and salmon. The food was amazing and satisfied our Italian food cravings. We were traveling with a toddler and what made this place even more memorable was the kind staff. We had a squirmy toddler who doesn't like to sit for long periods of time so after sitting during the appetizers, by the time our food came out, she wanted to walk around. The staff came by and was so kind and understanding, a couple of them even crouched down to talk to her and give her 5 fives. By the time we left, they became best friends and my daughter was waving at her everytime she walked by. I felt like we were so well taken care of that we just left eating at our Italian Auntys restaurant. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in Portland. read more

Overall the visit was fine, nothing was terrible, but I would never want to come back here again. The ambiance isn't great, but we were also sat behind the kitchen and next to the silverware storage so there wasn't much peace or comfort. The appetizer, a meatball in polenta, was pretty flavorless apart from the meatball and it had a strange chunky texture. We didn't enjoy it. Then we had the seafood pasta and the pesto genovese. The seafood pasta comes in an alfredo sauce for god knows what reason. Despite that, it was tasty, but so ridiculously heavy. The seafood itself was nice, once you got past the sauce. The pesto pasta was an enormous disappointment. It was the most flavorless pesto I've ever had. It tasted of oil. The added chicken was the only part of that plate that had flavor. We got there almost when the door opened and it was already busy. The ambiance and warmth of this place was very welcome. Menu was fair and pretty expansive. Did an appetizer- (both types of meatballs), along with house bread & oil. Had go get a lemon drop - one of the best I have had. Split the lasagna with my husband and it was a good choice because I got my dessert to go. The waitstaff was good but definitely could tell they were busy servicing all the tables. If you like to share salads or entrees, they happily split the dish in the kitchen. The service is pleasant and efficient, the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. At the end of your meal, you're offering a complimentary cordial - amaretto or sambuca. Delicious! Our experience was so great, we returned the following night. Probably one of the better Italian restaurants you will find on the coast. We split the lasagna and the steamer comas. It came out to be $68.00 total. The service here is top notch. The food is amazing as well. I really liked one of their signature dishes the lasagna. It was so big we had to split it.
