The beef (Nuer Yang) was delicious! The light crispness on the edges gave it this charcoal flavor, the seasonings in the meat were exquisite! Dipping the meat in the included sauce only added to the flavor. A really enjoyable dish! Summer roles w/shrimp were light, fresh and accompanied by a well balanced peanut sauce (I could eat this all day!!). Our app was the golden bags, saw another table order this before and we decided to try it. They looked absolutely amazing, so we had to give it a shot, I was not let down. Crunchy, inside was potato and other ingredients. Well flavored. Not pictured, from previous visits, we had the slow cooked beef curry and the salmon curry. Both of those dishes were out of this world. I'd probably recommend. The salmon over the beef (personal preference). The salmon was tender and paired perfectly with the sauce. We will continue to try other items in the menu as everything thus far has been tip top. The restaurant was very clean, presentation of all the items and silverware was great. Service, the staff was very friendly and delivered our food quickly. BUT I would recommend an additional server as putting our orders in or paying the tab did take a little longer than I like. Stopped by Chada Thai for a late lunch today and left wondering why I hadn't tried it sooner. We started with the crispy spring rolls and papaya salad, then moved on to the pad Thai with fried tofu, massaman curry with chicken, and of course a Thai iced tea to round everything out. Honestly, everything was really good and I'd happily order every one of those dishes again. We asked for a low spice level and they nailed it. There was still plenty of flavor and just enough heat to keep things interesting without overwhelming the meal. The restaurant itself was stylish, clean, and comfortable with a modern atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy lunch. The service was excellent as well -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. If you're looking for quality Thai food in the area, Chada Thai is definitely worth a visit. I am a big supporter of Chada Thai however; we're disappointed during this visit. Looks like they remodeled place with new wall colors and new table setups. New looking menu however the dishes on the menu is still the same and the price can't be beat! The Pad Thai (4/5) is good but it's on the sweet and wet side. It's fusion so don't expect traditional flavor. We still like it! :-) I was craving for Papaya salad (3/5) so that's what we came here for and that's what we ordered. The ingredients in this dish was very fresh but it lacked the Thai flavor I was looking for; I think I was looking for the pungent fish sauce flavor which I sadly did not get from this dish. Chicken wings (3/5) was crispy. Dry type of wings but still juicy on the inside once you bite into the dry exterior. The wings were tossed in a flavorful salt and pepper type of mix. It comes with sweet and sour dipping sauce which I did not care much for; however given the wings are dry, it needs this dip to balance the dish. It's hard to find Khao Soi (3/5) here in texas so when I saw this on the menu, I was very excited. The dish came out looking amazing, unfortunately the flavor did not live up to its first impression. The Khao Soi I'm used to typically comes with pickled greens but the Khao Soi here did not have it. The broth was also lacking the fish sauce umami flavor. I really want to keep coming here but at this rate, I'm going to have to try other Thai restos in the area. Props to Chada for keeping the price low despite the current high cost and economic condition. Great service and cute atmosphere when dining in. I have ordered the following items from here - 1) Tom Kha Soup - an absolute delight with just the right amount of spice to give it a nice kick without becoming overwhelmingly spicy! 2) Pad ka Prow - minced basil chicken stir fried with green beans in a very light gravy. So delicious and light, served with jasmine rice. I often crave this! 3) Yellow or Panang curries are my personal favorites but really you can't go wrong with any of their curry choices. 4) Basil fried rice - a classic, must try dish at any Thai restaurant and Chada does it right! Can't speak of the actual restaurant as I just waited in the front. I got the curry and wings. Curry was good, a little different than I am used to but it wasn't exactly "Red Curry". The rice was pretty dry but edible. The wings were tasty but super dry, whatever the rub or seasoning they use is bomb. If I was to go back I'm sure I'd just stick to the curry. My review is just for the house fried rice and Tom Kha soup. I'm usually a regular at Thai Lada but decided to branch out a bit for dinner this evening. The house fried rice was pretty underwhelming. Almost no color to it, very few veggies (almost thought I had mistakenly ordered the basil fried rice) and very bland. Thankfully I had a side of pepper oil and it added a bit of much needed flavor. The only pro is for the price it was a fairly large serving, and I'll have plenty for more meals during the week. Overall:3/5 The Tom Kha soup was pretty good, and portion size very satisfying even for the smallest option. Nothing too out of the norm here, just standard tasty soup. Given the bevy of Thai options in Austin, probably would pick one of the others but if this is closest to you it's fine on the way back from work or if you're hungry and in the neighborhood. Wife and I both got pad see ew (chicken and tofu respectively) for takeout and while it has the rice noodles, Chinese broccoli and protein, the sweet soy vibe wasn't quite there and didn't feel like there was enough of the wok flavor. Had to add some additional sweet Thai chili sauce at home that we had in the fridge to really make it flavorful honestly. My wife has also gotten the beef salad before that's super spicy. read more

I was really excited to see they had khao soi gai which I really like and find it hard to find. Theirs was tasty with a rich and pretty reasonably priced. We also had a Tom Yum which was very tangy with strong lemongrass flavor and my partner had the Pad Kee Mao which was also good. We ordered the green curry with pork, pad Thai with chicken and fried tofu, and mango sticky rice for dessert. The cream in the green curry broke, it still tasted okay but it just didn't look at appetizing. The pad Thai was good and the potion size is huge! This review is for the overall experience I had during multiple visits as opposed to just one visit. Usually, I am greeted promptly when I come in and when I place a phone order I am given accurate wait times for food preparation. Depending upon the time I order, the item can sometimes be great and sometimes just okay. The last order I placed that included a beef entree, I found the beef to be to tough. Conversely, the same order of this item two orders before this one, the beef was tender and had time to rest. The food was alright and the server was nice and helpful, but my dad's dish took FOREVER to come out and we were not warned about the wait. Additionally, they brought my dish out way before my dad's and I was completely done eating before he even got his food. When he finally did get it, we both agreed it tasted like something akin to fried bologna. Definitely not worth the inordinate wait time (especially, again, without any forewarning). Finally REAL Thai food! I am Thai, so I grew up eating Thai food and I've been to Thailand several times. The food here really hit the spot and is not super Americanized like most Austin spots. As soon as I heard them speaking Thai, I knew this place was legit. We ordered Som Tom and Chicken Pad Thai, both of which were delicious! My food came out at 7.15, but she let me know it will be shrimp and beef instead (kitchen error). I was ok with that, since I needed to go soon. Next she brought my sons order. I told her that looks like pad keen mao to me, I see it lighter in color and has some chili flakes. After I had tried it and told her it's spicy, she took the plate back to kitchen. She came back just to tell me I was right and they are working on pad see ew now. At 7.30 pm still no food. Finally at 7.35 she brought his plate and I brought up if she can tell manager to take care of the situation. When I went to pay up front, young girl apologized again and said manager can't do anything. Oh well, that's ok, but I leave honest feedback for service, kitchen error and how they handled it. Also I won't be back and would not recommend to others, since there are many better options for Some good Thai food. Oh, also place is dirty and pathetic. Yelp gets it right again - four stars. But there is a secret story that is being missed here. ********* Chada Thai looks like a standard American Thai restaurant. It has the menu of a standard American Thai restaurant. It is in the middle of a strip mall out in the suburbs Which screams standard American Thai restaurant. But it ain't a standard American Thai restaurant. ********* You will realize what is going on the first time you put a forkful of the food in your mouth. The food is firey hot. And it is NOT firey hot with the same flavors you are used to seeing in your grandmother's standard Thai restaurant. This shows up in the soups and it especially shows up in the noodles. Soups are often the grandmother mild dish at Thai restaurants to cool you off. There may be one or two spicy soups for the adventurous. The rest is comfort food. Noodle dishes are almost always served mild as comfort food. You don't get noodle dishes that blow the top of your head off. ************ As you can guess, soups and noodles blow the top of your head off here. And the fire-chili mix is different than what you usually see. I am guessing white peppers made their way into the soup we got. I am guessing that my noodles had way more red bird peppers than one usually sees. But those are guesses. We've been coming here for years, but this is our first visit since Covid. Atmosphere is basic, but I really enjoy the food and service. Sometimes I just need to eat something different. And this place fit the bill perfectly. We shared the Thai combination Pineapple Fried Rice. It is quite different from Chinese or Japanese Fried Rice. It includes Shrimp, Chicken, Ham, Pineapple, Raisins, thinly sliced peppers and more. We had the server bring a chili sauce assortment to the table. Unless you like a LOT of spicy heat on your food, beware. I tried each of the 3 kinds of chili sauces (the only one I know about is Sriracha). And I was very cautious about just applying 2 or 3 small drops and mixing it in. Doing it that way, I loved the flavor. Carefully experiment to find an amount of heat you like.
