Stopped in to eat after shopping. The panang curry with chicken and pad see eiw are one of our favorites, and they make em the best here.

Pretty decent spot for Thai food! In terms of restaurants, it's a super casual spot, like you could just come here on a whim or just get takeout. It didn't seem that busy on a Friday evening and had a lot of seating. I got takeout, and my order was ready so quickly! The food was packed so nicely too, perfect for travel and they really minimized the possibility of spillage. The food itself was really good too. The servings were pretty big. But I do wish the mango sticky rice came with some more rice. I appreciated they gave more than enough coconut milk sauce though.

My last review was 5 years ago and it's probably been at least 3 years since we've had their food. Everything was excellent and delicious. We ordered curbside and even though our home is 20 mins away the food tastes fresh and hot. Their chu chee fish is a favorite as well as all of their curries. We haven't had anything here that we didn't enjoy!

Muangthai never lets me down. This has been a Thai staple of Austin for over 15 years. The TomKha soup is my go to, then their pad Thai and curry are a 10 out of 10. Friendly service, clean restaurant, great pricing and fast.

They probably changed the owner or something. It used to be my favorite Thai place, but last time the pad Thai was awful. The shrimp and meat were overcooked, the noodles were greasy, and it was so salty I struggled to eat it. I probably won't come back.

We stopped in here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We had bought some food from this guy when he was running a food truck out of Liberty Hill, and has since closed it. The truck food was acceptable, but our lunch experience here was awful. Let me qualify why I felt this way; I spent 6 years as a kid in Thailand, and we go there every other year or so for the past 30+ years. I know good Thai food. I have 3 brothers all married to Thai women and enjoy their cooking whenever I can. I ordered the Pad Krapow chicken while my wife opted for the Pad Thai pork. The service was quick and friendly, but the server was obviously not Thai (not that it really matters) but when they are Thai, I speak the language fluently and will usually let them know not to "Americanize" my food. I asked the server to be sure and tell the cook that I wanted authentic Thai hot level spice on an authentic dish. What I got was anything but. The dish came with a cup of corn and ground chicken soup that had a little flavor and a fried egg roll that was gummy inside and overcooked in the fryer. The "Krapow" dish arrived looking more like a dish of stir fried vegetables with some chicken in a dark sauce. Now, if you've had real Pad Krapow you know that first, the meat is normally ground (not sliced like this dish was). Second, I have never had bamboo shoots or mushrooms in my Krapow, much less a bunch of sliced onions and bell pepper. Third, there was absolutely no flavor profile that even slightly resembled Pad Krapow. No spice, no flavor, just a brown liquid soupy looking dish that was below sub-par. I even tried loading it up with fish sauce and peppers, but it couldn't be saved. I ate maybe one third of it and finally just gave up (I rarely if ever leave anything on my Thai food plates). My wife's Pad Thai at least had a little flavor, but was doused in a red sauce that pooled under the noodles (which were vermicelli instead of the requisite thicker rice stick noodles). The taste was too sweet, and like my dish, hers had zero spice despite asking for Thai hot. In the hundreds of Thai restaurants I've eaten in over the many years, I can honestly say this is perhaps the worst attempt at authentic Thai food I've ever experienced. We've eaten at a few other places in Austin and Round Rock and will drive back to those places before returning to Muang Thai. Extremely disappointed and saddened that they think this passes for acceptable Thai food. BTW - if you know Pad Krapow, there is a very distinct flavor profile generated by the combination of light soy, green mountain, oysters, and fish sauces. What they used here doesn't even come close.

This place was okay. We went in a big group of 10 and they had space for all of us. It was not crowded inside for a Sunday afternoon but the location is kinda hard to get to. I ordered Tom Kha with chicken and they first came out with tofu. When they realized I didn't order tofu, they changed it to chicken. I was surprised how white the soup looked (I'm used to seeing it with a more reddish color). The soup was flavorful but I wasn't blown away by it. The staff was helpful too, but I've had better Thai food.

I was recommended this place my by hair stylist as her fav thai restaurant so I gave it a try. The place is not fancy or anything but the food is great! Ordered a variety of curry, papaya salad, pad see ew, and everything came out delicious. Portion was very generous also and they didn't skimp out on ingredients. Will definitely come back again.

If y'all want some stir-fried chunk of plastic hiding in your food, this is the spot for you. It was the N2: Pad See Iew (perhaps the name of the dish should have been my first clue) - wide flat rice-noodles with egg, Chinese broccoli and chicken. The dish was so-so to begin with. But then the trifecta bite of Chinese broccoli with a bit of chicken and noodle turned into a CRISPY, CHEWY, CHUNK OF PLASTIC. It probably contained meat or veggie in it at some point. Yes, you want to vomit now? I certainly felt that way as it was IN MY MOUTH. This was an all spoons down moment at the dinner table. Staff were shocked and apologetic and said the meal was on them. Can't go back. Just... can't. Did y'all see the size of that chunk of plastic?!

The food comes fresh and hot. It is most delicious. The wait service and the chef made sure the food was correct. The music went right with the food.

service was great! the waitresses i saw were very attentive to someone who was customized in their order (they kept asking for samples, too). i ordered gang dang curry with beef, pad thai noodles with chicken, and fish cakes. everything was perfectly flavored and filling! the red curry's bamboo shoots also complimented the sauce. definitely a place i like to go to after the gym! they even do to-go orders.

I've been searching for a legitimate Thai restaurant and Muangthai is my new favorite. The Pad Thai is fantastic and we were able to actually choose the level of spiciness. You have to try the Flaming Ice cream!

Tried to call to order takeout, are they not open?

They are open except Mondays. Maybe the phone number has changed.

This place has been closed since last 2 months I think and it shows open on google, yelp etc.. Phone number doesn't work either. When are they opening?

They are open now during the weekdays they serve lunch until 2:30.

Parking & Service: Arrival was stress-free thanks to the massive parking lot in the strip mall. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming. The Food: Portions are very generous and perfect for family-style dining. Everything was flavorful, though my one small note for the kitchen is that some dishes leaned a bit heavy on the salt. The service has always been great--servers are attentive, friendly, and quick to clear plates, which we've always appreciated. It's part of why we kept coming back. We usually order the fried pompano, and it's always been a favorite. But the last couple of times, the fish has been noticeably smaller--like almost half the size it used to be. That was already a letdown. What really did it for us, though, was finding a plastic to-go cup lid inside one of our drink glasses. It was buried in there, and completely threw us off. At that point, we were just done. It's a bummer because we've liked this place for a long time, but between the smaller portions and that experience, we won't be coming back.

Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere.
