Chai wala is a bubble tea and desi snacks spot with a casual and cozy ambiance. About four tables but plenty of seating. They also have a backyard patio for additional seating. Love having a boba spot close to home. This spot has consistency, speed, and seating. Definitely a good place to stop by. I make it a point to come here on rainy days to get hot chai. I came here to do henna on some friends today and the staff were really welcoming and friendly- a plus. I've tried the crepes, good if you're craving crepes- and lots of options. Looking forward to trying some other snacks next time I come.

The place is nice with outdoor seating which was good. The service was okay. They were busy, guessing because of social media. But don't believe the hype. My husband had the chai boba tea, it was no where near chai flavor but regular water down tea. He got me the brown sugar boba, again the flavor was blah and packed with sugar. The boba was hard as if it's been sitting all day. I get boba tea or coffee at least once a week and this place can't come near to what good boba tea/coffee should taste like.

Love their lamb paratha and crepes. Definitely go back, just a nice place for a quick snack.

    Reese's Peanutbutter Milkshake soooooo good!

The taste of the passion fruit bubble tea was great and the popping bubbles were fresh and tasty too! The place is very clean and the service was friendly. Highly recommended this hidden gem!

Perhaps the Sunday only option is their way to protect us from those of us with no self control. If that is the case, good thinking W & D! As far as the Wafels, is there anything that Spekuloos (my current sweet addiction) or Nutella is spread on that doesn't taste awesome? The music and elegance of the atmosphere was rejuvenating and relaxing. I was so glad we walked into this beautiful hidden gem on Jamaica Avenue. I couldn't believe that such a place existed here. I felt like I walked into a restaurant in Manhattan. We started with drinks. Kids drinks came in plastic containers while adult drinks came in glass ones. We ordered Diet Coke, Sprite, Mango juice and Strawberry juice. The juices were thirst quenching and hydrating. We had steak and eggs for the 1st time and it was perfectly pink in the center with a crispy, juicy exterior. The potatoes were just right. The Eggs Benedict was just right with the yolk oozing out after you bite into it. The fettuccine Alfredo was sauced just right, not too much or too little. The California Omelette was delicious and done just right. The kids pancake was just the way our kids liked them, with sliced strawberries on top. The strawberries were so yummy, we ordered a side of them just for our kids to munch on. It was smart to give our kids crayons to draw on the paper tablecloth. It kept them busy and helped our family create a happy memory of tic-tac-toe between parents and kids. POP's Cocina & Bar definitely deserves my Yummylicious Stamp of Approval and two thumbs up! Brick walls accented with floor to ceiling windows and nuvo chic music with a heavy downbeat competed for my attention. I honestly thought this was a typical diner. So the restaurant was a total surprise. The Chicharon just chicken breast, cut and fried. But it was acceptable. Ugh. 4% service charge. Not cool. I still tipped well but the meal was already over priced. I was willing to make an exception but I also had to wait at the bar for my final bill.

Despite it always being crowded, somehow I have always gotten a seat when dining in with no wait. And the customers just keep coming, and the vibe only gets better. The interior is just too cute, and each location has a unique "look" to it but they all scream tea house. Service is nothing short of excellent. French crepes with Nutella takes me back to Paris, France of nostalgia for halcyon times. They have a list of year round items & a couple rotating seasonal lattes that you'll have to wait to see on their wall as well. However, It gets extremely busy there -- so if you're wanting to sit and chit chat with a friend, you might find yourself sitting outside or constantly checking for a chair because it gets busyyyyy in here on weekdays despite the abundant seating, while I do love a little coffee & study session, it really sucked that nearly all of the tables inside were taken by customers with laptops! Perhaps it's better on weekends as they have signs that implement no laptops on weekends. Anyways, onto the orders... My sister and I ordered off the seasonal menu and tried the Strawberry latte, Pistachio latte and a Pistachio Waffle. Unfortunately, I just felt like neither of the lattes were really lived up to the hype. The strawberry latte is literally just strawberry jam layered with milk and a shot of espresso & the pistachio drink was not very sweet or pistachio flavor forward, it had a bit of a nutty taste towards the end, but honestly just tasted a majority like milk. I definitely think it could benefit from more pistachio flavoring or some pistachio cream smeared on the side of the cup. Also, not sure if they use two different roasts for the drinks, but the strawberry tastes much more burnt than the other. The pistachio waffle was probably the best part, but even then, you cannot really mess up on a waffle that is smeared with pistachio butter. Not sure if it is house made though. I didn't like it, but my sister really likes this place, so it is definitely a matter of opinions. I would definitely recommend stopping by & trying it out yourself!

The floor is dirty, the edges of the table have obviously not been wiped down (crusted old food in the cracks) and just a general greasy, unclean vibe. The ambiance is nonexistent- no music aside from a man at the bar watching tiktoks on his phone at full volume. They rush you to put your order in even though it will take like 40 minutes to arrive despite (and I cannot emphasize this enough) the fact that the restaurant is a ghost town. The food sucked, we had 2 meals completely comped, but the bill somehow comes to over $50 with one burger and two non alcoholic drinks because of the 20% service charge. Even after we flagged the awful food (twice!)we still had to wait almost 30 minutes for the manager to come over. This was just terrible and it's obvious the staff does not care and is just going through the motions.

The exposed brick, greenery and neon "Let's Do Brunch" sign give it a fun vibe and make for some great pictures. It was quite busy when we were there, which wasn't surprising given its popularity. Our server, Syriah, was very good. She was friendly, attentive, made recommendations from the menu and even took our group photo for us -- and got a good one! We really appreciated her service. The food was good, although I wouldn't say it was exceptional. I've had better brunch food at other spots, but everything I had was enjoyable and nicely presented. I tried the mimosa flight, which was definitely fun and Instagram-worthy. The drinks were a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but Tropical Sunset was my favorite of the flight. And I have to mention the funniest part of the whole experience: before brunch, my Sorority sister kept texting me, "Let's do brunch." I kept responding, "Okay, WHERE?" She finally had to explain that LET'S DO BRUNCH was the name of the restaurant! So the place had us laughing before we even arrived. Overall, it's a cute, lively neighborhood spot with good food, fun drinks and very good service. The chicken was flavorful and the waffles soft and fluffy. I am a Well Done Beef Warrior and the steak was well done without being dry and tough. We didn't love the cheesesteak eggrolls much as they were oily and had a weird aftertaste. Wouldn't order that but would absolutely go again for the mains.
