I normally avoid giving bad reviews to small local businesses. But I truly just had the absolute worst experience at this spot today... It's Eid so my sister and I came here to buy 6 bubble teas for the family (Around 5:45) When I ordered it, the cashier laughed in my face sarcastically. I asked her why she laughed and she expressed "cause I'm gonna have to make them now" um hate to break it to you babe but that's your literal job??? I did feel bad since she was the only one behind the counter at the time, so I changed my order from 6 to 4 bubble teas. I sat down with my sister and we watched as 3 other parties ordered and received their drinks while we still waited for ours. After quite the wait, I went to the pickup area to ask if our drinks were ready yet and they were ready, just sitting there for a while. I guess she didn't think to notify us that our drink is ready? I mean she saw us waiting so I don't know why she couldn't let us know. Such blatant disregard for customer's time. Maybe I'm spoiled by the amazing service I get at Chaiwala. I kind of regret going here today because on top of that, one of my bubble teas was filled literally halfway. I get that I ordered a regular size for two of the drinks and maybe they only had large cups but even then, what I received was waaaay less than what the regular cup holds. And this regular sized drink had waaaay less bubble tea than the other regular sized drink I ordered. I don't know if she did that on purpose or out of spite... but it did feel like it. Just look at the pictures I attached and see for yourself. Also, I asked for no ice and it definitely had ice in it. And as if it couldn't get any worse, my brown sugar milk tea was just milk with a tiny amount of brown sugar at the bottom. I defffffinitely did not get what I paid for and it really is disappointing. After such a long wait I didn't want to mention anything, so I took the drinks and left. But looking back, I really should have requested a refund. It was abysmal and I shouldn't have received such horrible products because I'm a paying customer like everyone else! It's astonishing how bad that one cashiers service was, I really think the owner should train his staff on common courtesy, it's not his fault but it's impacting his business. But I will say the other staff members are generally friendly and have great service, so maybe just train this girl. A couple of friends and neighbors here and there have also mentioned moments of off-putting service they experienced here, or similar inconsistencies with the product FYI. read more

A must-go-to in Ozone Park! There are only 2 boba tea shops in this area and this is one of them. It's new to me so I wanted to venture a little further down Cross Bay to check it out. I wasn't disappointed. Food & drink: I ordered the Tea Special which is mango & dragonfruit. Like most boba places, I assumed it was going to be so sweet. But when I drank it, it was not! It was instead very refreshing and a little on the bitter side. This is how I prefer my tea so I wasn't upset. I added bubbles as my topping. Their boba is small so they easily come through the straw. But I can see it being annoying to people who prefer their bubbles a little bigger. For food, I got the pistachio kulfi croffle and got my husband the plain one. It was delightful! I love that there were actual pistachio in mine!!!! Interior: The atmosphere is definitely unique. On one wall, they have a beautiful mural of workers in a field.. which I am assuming is a field where they grow different types of tea. Wonder if my assumption is correct! They have a wall to take a picture with your drink (and honestly if you don't have one of these in your business, you're not up to the times lol). The music is mostly hip-hop; which is to my liking. The order and pick-up situation is one that reminds me of places in the city... order on the side of the restaurant and pick-up in the front. I guess that is smart seeing that most people just order online or get it delivered! Service: Both employees working were super friendly and welcoming! My parents live in the area and every time I visit them, I try different flavors of boba at Tea Mania. Since my siblings try different flavors than me, it's safe to say I've consumed their entire tea menu at this point. I do agree that the pricing is significantly higher than any other boba spot I've been to, but the creative drinks make up for it and it's a treat once in a while. My favorite drinks are the kulfi drinks, where they add a scoop of mango, pistachio, or malai kulfi. It comes with basil seed and whichever toppings you'd like, and the tea itself tastes fresh and not all syrupy. The green teas are great too, especially the lychee. Overall, recommend the kulfi bubble teas here! read more

Tea Mania New York's drink toppings cost slightly more than its competitors price at $0.50, but Tea Mania New York price $0.75 per topping. Whoa, is the lychee popping boba spawned from a rare and expensive seaweed extract? Has the 2022 national inflation rate accelerated to 8.6% coincidence measured with COVID-19 pandemic and to pay your employees NYS mandated minimum wage $15.00 per hour salary? I despise lychee popping boba which is weird. Disappointedly Tea Mania does not offer Chinese herbal grass jelly 涼粉 (loeng4 fan2, liang2 fen3) as a topping which is odd because bubble tea is a Chinese tea that originated in Taiwan. When inquiring if Chinese herbal grass jelly is available as an option for a topping this male server appeared very utterly bewildered and completely oblivious acutely unknown without any situational awareness. Herbal grass jelly is one of my favorite traditional Chinese summer dessert as I am profoundly enamoured. My drink was median average. Tea Mania New York benevolently offers French macarons cookies priced $1.75 per cookie in the sweets menu. Favors listed in their takeout menu are: chocolate, vanilla, caramel, raspberry, lemon, and pistachio. The cookies are also slightly above average. It was light with a sweet top and bottom chewy shell. Nostalgia is invoked to reminisce as I wish I could return to Paris, France for another excursion. Unfortunately, there were no chocolate macaron available ergo I decided for two raspberries; one vanilla and one lemon. Sales receipts are digitalized and can only be obtained via email or SMS text due to Tea Mania's cash registers are powered by Square as a paperless system. There is a loyalty reward card program available after the tenth (10th) drink purchased is free. Takeout menus are available for grabs rather than squinting your eyes to view the wall menu at a distance. Customer service is mediocre as the staff take their sweet time to fulfill drink orders and customers fill the foyer waiting area for as my median average waiting time was actually twenty (20) eternal minutes - "Waiting for Godot." read more

We tried the TMS Kulfi Milk Tea, TMS Strawberry Cheesecake Milk Tea, TMS Mango Dragonfruit Fruit Tea, & Strawberry Lemonade Fruit Tea w/ Strawberry Popping Boba. Everything was very refreshing! My favorite was the Strawberry Cheesecake - tasted very similar to Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream! Their Kulfi Milk Tea was spot on - you can taste the cardamom flavor. You can request your sugar level preference, which is amazing - not many boba places do that! The owner and staff are very kind and welcoming! This shop is a great addition to the neighborhood!
